Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

"Maybe not reveal to him that bit of thought. It might be best if you just lay hints. But some old wise men do only speak the truth, while others say the truth can harm and damage far more than lies. Such is life and the living I suspect."

Rising, leaning on his staff as he did. Looking but failing to see how he could help carry Amp to the sick bay.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

Lucy lights the way with a few solid lights along the floor, the monks body control is enough to effectively treat two of the five damage on his back... so hes still bleeding but not as seriously.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

Develanna frowned at the monk as he stood,

"Thou art indeed as stubborn an ass as ever I met sir!  Thine own wounds are far worse than these the Lady Cat doth bear!  Wilt thou allow me to aid thee to the place of healing or wouldst thou prefer to be carried as a babe?"

She stood with hands on hips as she gave the monk a moment to decide.  Brave and self-effacing as he was, she hoped that she had not impugned his honor, but she was tired past the point of caring.  Oh the apologies she was going to have to make later!  She would just have to add this one to the list, moving it to preceed calling her fight companion 'Sir Stink-salot'.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

"If you feel you can help me and her then so be it, I only did not wish to impose on you while you were also attending to her." The monk looked to the woman, Amp, as she lay there. Eyes turning back to the knight, still leaning on his staff. "I shall not push away help, I just fear that I maybe able to hobble to the medical bay while she might not. Thank you knight, I shall of course take your aid but please do not let it take from any you would give her." Smiling, feeling his wounds heal slightly even as he stood. Such was an art he would have to practice more, not that he had not planned to but feeling the results was quite something.

"Lead the way brave and noble knight, we are both in your care." Bowing his head and even his form as much as his weak form would allow.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

The child breaths a sigh of relief as the voiders engine come back to life, wiping sweat away with the back of her hand. Looking at the readouts an monitoring the ships progress. Patting a safe section of the engine, 'We're getting there ancient one, stay with us and we can give you some proper care when we are done.'

Develanna shook her head,

"Forgive thou me in my abrupt ness M;Lord.  But I can aid thee both at once methinks.  Twill not be seemly, but will work."

So saying, she lifts the unconscious one to hand on the knight's left shoulder;  She grasped the monk around the waist and also laid him over her right shoulder and followed the lights.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

When dev got there she ran into a problem, some one had to give the cat an IV...while shaving her wrist was easy enough for the knight modern medicine was a bit of a mysterious mage for her. Huoshui's hands where shaky but he could still probably do it, however it was still a better bet of finding and hitting the target if she held the needle...... maybe if she thought of it as a cross of nitting and going for some ones throat?!?  >.<

At least Huoshui and lucy was there to instruct her, and the monk could always block out the painful Lon enough to steady his hand.... but ether way she needed to get on the drip and get some meds in her system.

Lucy's drive cycled down, while Osmans gave out a sigh hiss of steam and came to a far to loud of a clucking stop. They where free and only the hums of the engines could be hurd in the distance. Well that and the actionable foul sound from the old drive as it cooled off.

It was unlikely Osman's drive foul take that kind of strain again with out some heavy maintnance and refurbishing. But lucky for now the SoE drive would do just fine for most planets.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

Having little strength or will to fight back the monk ended up on the Knight's right shoulder. "You never need to be forgiven when aiding another. I am sure your order has thought you much as my own has that we all need to help each other." Laughing as he hung there, reaching for his flask which was bundled with his robe's shirt at his belt. Taking a swig while being taken to the med bay.

Once there he tried to help the knight with Amp, "Allow me, I may be unable to assert my will on the tapestry but I have other used." Focusing himself, becoming in a meditative state he once again called upon his knowledge of his own form to steady his hands long enough to prepare and place Amp on the drip. Once done he took to sitting on the floor, his weapons laid before him. Bowing to them in respect he began to clean them, honour them and place them back down once he was done with each. Even if he needed his rest and repair so did they, the sword and staff that kept him alive.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

The pain was distracting him from his meditation but he managed to dull some of it when he moved and shook less, a sudden silk of pain causes him to miss stabbing the neddle in. Getting another though he is able to get it in place.

Lucky instructs Dev on ending his wounds.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

Raven sighed with relief as the exited out into more normal space; after the spirit he'd connected with had shown him what it was like to actually be part of the place, he couldn't get his tail feathers out of there fast enough. Nobody had actually told him where they were going next, so he had taken a guess and was heading back toward their last port as he replied to his friend.

"No, it's not because of the splicing. I sing because it seems to help bring about what I want to happen, like getting us into and out of the web wall thingy. As for joining your religion, though I do appreciate your help on my veteran's home project, I'm afraid I must decline. I already have a Boss you see, and if I were to try to leave Her for yours, She'd eat him for lunch and use me as he toilet paper eight hours later.

"Go ahead and make a pamphlet if you like, but I think the monk worships a dragon and the knight is loyal to some God of valor or virtue, or one of those 'v' words. Anyway, I think you'd be wasting your time with either of them. My honorary brother Tex, the other crewmember with four arms, I think your path wouldn't have enough action and violence in it to suit him. Also, he could already be spoken for too I just don't know it.

"Now the girl who snuck onboard, Inks I think her name was? I know shit about her, and she's at a young, impressionable age. I think you stand your best chance taking a shot at her, but that's completely between the two of you of course."

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

[I beleave she mentioned having a personal totem, a lesser underneath owl.] That was easy enough to understand, the bomber was often acting as a bridge for him, but his bond was still with the goddess... what she had sounds more like the lesser was what she was bound with and they where all buddy buddy. He thinks he vaguely remembered some Earth people that did that, a famely who had its own totem like one might have a pet....only the other way around.

(OOCly i think thats how raven would see it =p her being the owls spirits pet human lol)

[The word totem comes from the Ojibway word dodaem and means "brother/sister kin". There was a standing believe that they moved the totem poles with them, however I believe it was tradition to make new ones for each home. ]

'Good job,' the kid tells the engine, before looking up. 'Any more fires we need to look at, Luci?'

inks wanders over to where she left Numina and sits next to her with an explosive breath. 'Glad you didn't have to destroy my vile self today,' the youth says to the dragon with a smile coloring her voice.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

Knights had to repair their own clothing, so sewing is nothing new to Dev; starting an IV is, so she is proud to see Huoshui doing it.  With instructions, she then sets about sewing together the monk's wounds.  She grins and winks at him as she does,

"Nothing fancy or extravagant.  Simple cross stitching!"

Numina curls comfortably around the girl's neck in another part of the ship.  As the girls speaks to the dragon, the little one gives the child a healthy slurp and dozes off.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

[Not unless you have any medical training.]

Dev took twice as long as it should have taken, but she got the job done and was able to take care of the monk's wounds. The metal crystal shards made it harder and the work sloppier but at least it was taken care of.

It is likely to leave a mark/scar of some sort when it heals, not a bad one... but still one that disrupts the dragon tattoo.... so no clue how Huoshui will take that.

The scar won't be hurting the dragon any, but it is over/on the dragons story.

It could be taken as disturbing the dragons story...

Or it could be taken as adding to it his own story, a symbol of how they dared to strike out agenst such a powerful being and lived to tell about it.

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

"Thank you friend, you've done more than I could possibly ask for."

Scars to the monk were reminders, additions to his own story. The ones on his hands and feet telling of how he learnt Do, the heavier scarring on his hands for the dragon, now the ones he'd wear for this battle. It was a shame it blurred the story of the dragon tattooed on him, and the story of his form of Do but the monk only hoped the dragon would not see it as dishonour. Far from it, the monk lived and would tell the tale of the dragon that slept within him, the story and the memory lived on.

"But if you ever need to do this on someone else, maybe you would allow me to show you. My hands," holding up his injured hands still shaking somewhat, "would not allow it now but they will heal as will I. If you ever wish to learn medicine I would be happy to be your teacher."

In reply to Azraile (msg # 462):

Dev bowed her head to the monk,

"I would be most honored if you would teach me the art of healing sir.  All I did for you was to sew holes shut as if you were a worn tunic!"

Here she could not help but smile a bit.

"And I never could sew a pretty seam to save mine own life!"

Re: Interlude 1 - The Waking God

"It is fine Dev, do not have it weigh on your mind. It just shows that skills are quite transferable. We must keep an open mind to what we can do with what we know. A seamstress can sew wounds, our training back in the temple involved much of day to day work. Cleaning, gardening and house work. The art I learnt, Do, teaches us all things can be taken to teach us of the whole." Recalling his times as a boy, sweeping the halls, working the gardens of sand and greenery. Though he suspected his temple's chores might have been more focused on gardening than others, they did live on a floating island made from plant life.

"Besides my friend the rest of me is far from pretty." Holding up his hands once more, scarred and hardened flesh. Pointing to the burn mark which had his mark to the spirit totem, scarring over his heart. "Just you wait, when I tell the dragon that a knight saved it. Isn't it not normal in many stories for your kind and its to be at each other in combat." Laughing, "Well of course I've yet to tell my lord that you yourself have a partner dragon."

"You deserve rest too Dev. As our friend Luci says, there isn't much to be done now. Our friends are flying us away from this realm." There was much to do in future he knew but he could only imagine how much they would all need some rest from this. "My bag," Looking around to find it, "It should have cups for us." Taking the drink tied to his belt his shook it to find that there was still some inside. "Let us toast for this."
