Re: OOC talk

earth from space...interesting. it does seem to be a
mess, but i hadn't even thought of spots. i had
kind of considered it a blur spot. are there any
satellites that have useful data? what do those
in space know of current conditions?

makes sense that the virtual adepts were playing
with toys they barely understand(^^). modern
computer science seems to be fostering a lack of
understanding at all levels. not that some don't
know(but how can you know). more that you can only
know so much and the rest drops into a black box.

at some point in robotech it becomes obvious that
the aliens cannot maintain their tech because it
is too complicated. for me this is an amusing
moment where science collapses. we got too smart
and can't keep up with our brilliance(^^).
progress is so easy, what do we even know of
maintenance?

Re: OOC talk

interesting how the most well to do, largely the
ones running society, are out of touch. they are a
total write off(^^), those who follow aren't that
far behind. pays to pay attention to the ecosystem
and sustainability.

Re: OOC talk

do you have a description of the hyperion wars as
it would appear on the interwebs of 'Space!'? i can
find some reference to it but not a good
description. sorry if i missed something here, a
lot going on that i find a some reference to(which is
awesome depth, but...(^^)) that is somewhat difficult
to reference.

In reply to Inks (msg # 22):

I personally enjoy my insanity as life seems so much more interesting, but I will not complain of boredon again for awhile!

And my mentor and hero-god professor (one of them) was actually reading a book that connected math to poetry.  Sheesh!

Re: OOC talk

In reply to Devalanna (msg # 36):

best way to go with insanity(^^). i expect there
are some forms of poetry that lend to it more than
others. have you read cryptonomicon[1]? in it one
of the crytologysts starts using letter frequency
to break a set of codes. there was one person
creating one time pads. these, if truly random are
unbreakable. unfortunately the person tasked with
this was looking. there was a bowl of letters that
were supposed to be withdrawn without looking,
mostly random. the person was looking though and
was subconsciously picking letters in a way her
brain found acceptable. as an american z's and x's
were subconsciously rejected.

translating the world to models of math is doable,
but the books also goes on to point out that there
were many mental failure in those responsible for
discovering decryption methods(^^). although
sometimes that helped.

Re: OOC talk

congrats on the move.

so what is a human soul, i've been thinking of it
as a spirit, since they end up in the realm of the
dead. although how they get off 'the wheel' and
into a body is interesting, but spirits can
possess. do we all posses ourselves(^^)?

Re: OOC talk

humans are a little different that other creatures, there really kinda half or one third a soul..

why human souls can be mixed with so many other souls so easly lol

but the fact that doing so keeps them from being a mage should be a hint of sorts =p

But yah messing with human souls is like spirit 5 stuff

Well the other books illuminate somewhat on the subject, Wraith and Demon. Even Vampire a bit. Though please do not mess with the soul of this monk, he is trying to awaken fully.

Re: OOC talk

so what about animal souls, are they whole?

@huoshui - no worries i'm not super into bindings
and wasn't planning on doing anything like this
with spirit. maybe asking but not forcing. amusing
how quickly a situation comes up where i
care(^^). also fortunately i won't be tempted
since i don't have the power. yet.

Well also Huoshui's soul and body isn't only his own, not sure how the dragon would like to any further invasion. Though I do hope we'll be allies so nothing of that sort should come up.

Re: OOC talk

can you talk to the dragon through the tattoo or
is it more like a imbued blessing?

i think its fair to say we will. i've caught up on
most of historical posts and most of the teams
goals seem to align with inks'. stranger things
have happend though, so we will have to see what
azraile rolls out.

Re: OOC talk

It is old and sleeping right now... it may die and be just a blessing or it may wake and be a spirit ridding his flesh with him

it is not inslaved ether, not all fetishes are prisons, the ink is something he could leave if he wished to.

Fetishes never need to be made into prisons they just can be, and the spirit is taped in them for a while no matter what because the prossess weakens them to the point they must spend a good time resting, and then need time after that before they have the strength to leave

But fetishes were never intended to be a prison, just some people force spirits into them and bind them there.

Most do NOT want to trap a foul spirit into a fetish.

A - if they use it the spirit will corrupt them
B - it will give a item of power to the enemy

But you can trap a spirit in just about anything and use the poower to bind it ... so its kinda like the power of the fetish is to trap the spirit better lol that's a propper way to bind something.... but thats very complicated and for powerfull spirits need people to watch over and maintain them

which is why so much fucked up shit happened in the wild west lol

the pure lands were pure and dark spirits were driven away or bound

then a bunch of Europeans come along with all sorts of dark spirits, kill the guardians, drive the people from the lands where they bound spirits, and half the time dug the fucking things up

The storm eater was in a silver mine

Ever wonder why Enron and Pentex is so tied together?  The Coruptor (and yes THE Coruptor, incarnation of the decay of the mind) was released from a Texas oil well.

Re: OOC talk

i kinda liked your description of the extra ammo
spirits, where it was more like a trade of the
spirits powers for the items in the spell. it's
got me thinking.

also would i have awakened my toys? what does an
awakened computer do? can it influence it's
programs?

somewhat amazing how oblivious the werewolves can
be. they may have issues with the wyrm, but they
cause so many of their own problems.
