Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

Inks lets out a last long breath and opens her
eyes. She holds on to the moment gazing at the
garden. Feeling the peace and taking in the trees
and the pond. The ripples and reflections of the
bridge interposed over the starscape above. Earth
with its dark blot obscuring its tattered
history. The girl slowly stands from her
meditation pose and presents a slightly crooked
grins.

*It's time to run.*

The child takes off at a lope from the akashic
garden. Heading for the more industrialized areas
to see if she can discover any unvisited, to her
at least(^^), places to explore.

occ-whole bunch of assumptions here. is there an
akashic temple? would they let her in? could she
sneak in? can edit post if inappropriate. what
does the moon environment, and i would guess i'm
in new boston, look like?

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

Domed cities with advance buildings and stuff, I'm have there be a temple built on the edge of a valley near the city no dome but a garden and a small forest in the valley with Egyptian ruins and the garden where monks are praying. Most of the moon is barren outside the domes but there a few places like that here and there with plant like and odd ruins.

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

The child runs at an easy lope. Taking
opportunities as the environment allows to bounce
to building tops, roll from ledges and spin on
railings while the wind of her passage flings her
hair. trying to stay to the less inhabited areas
to limit the populous obstacles.

(ruins sweet(^^). what has inks been able to
discover about them? has she gotten a chance to
visit them?)

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

They do not let her into the vally, they say it is safe for them but the full moon nears and strange creatures rise out of places like this and attack people during the full moon. They tell her not to worry though, the monks down there will be fine and hope to calm the spirits as they have before.

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

While traversing a passage between towering
buildings that seems to be largely used for
storage she considers what she knows of the area
and a place that may be of interest. As she comes
to the end of the alley she rests for a moment
to take in the scenery and decide on her course.

(was she able to see anything with spirit sight,
or find anything on the info sphere?)

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

There are strange things about the moon in general, but nothing any more strange in this city than any other besides the refugees like herself. Most the people where ether down about losses or rilled up between the technocracy and the traditions, it takes more than forty years to sow a lasting trust stong enough to endure a crisis like this and the fact govenors and represinitives of the CCG where throwing blame around themselves, it was not a good outlook for that trust to remain unbroken.

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

A light reminded her of an instant on of a kind of
home. Flashes of blood and rushing into room, calm
stern orders. More rushing hoping to stave off one
more...Again on the a new station rushing, the
evacuation, more explosions, and more chaos...

*Not the time!*

She starts running again. Another jump, another
stride, a moment here and now. A focus on life and
the world and is hopeful beauty. Only vaguely
focused on some destination.

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

Inks came across a scene that bought fresh memories of the muaraders and people crawling over eachother to evacuate.

There was the horridly disfigured corpse of a man who's face was bashed in to the point of the skull caving in, blood everywhere. Not to much further down the alleyway a blood spattered young lady inks age huttled over the much more bloody body of an older woman.

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

'shit,' gasps Inks in a small voice, *too many
people!...Stop!* She stands stunned for a moment,
visibly shakes herself and hurries over to the
young girl. 'damn.'

Inks body screams to run, but she breathes. Still
attempting caution she approaches the woman's body
from the opposite side and searches for a pulse.

'What happened?' escapes Inks, but tears sting her
eyes despite slow breaths. A thought lingers but
she forces it beneath consciousness. Is mom in this
state somewhere?

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

She saw the mothers face was beat in too, some metal carding case lodged in her skull. Wait this wasn't right the girls arm was compleatly soaked in blood and she had a lot more blood on her but she looked fine. Inks backed away just enough that as the girl took a swing at her neck with the fragmented shap scraps of metal dangling from the handle that broke free from the case.

The young wan stood slowly breathing heavily and looking up at inks with a nice big, broad, and slightly deminted blood soaked smile. She seamed to even smile more for inks and took the scraped metal to her own cheek caring a "J" over her own smiling face.

*faith in 'humanity' restored, what The fuck.*
Inks blinks away tears and skips back farther
trying to take a defensive stance. She opens her
eyes to the spirit to get a sense for the girl and
for the local gauntlet. She also puts her hand on
her gun.

(time to make the call on my laser gun. you know
my vote(^^).)

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

(just noticed you have NO awareness. O.o we should probably change that.... awareness is magical perception.)

The lunar gauntlet has always been an iron curtain of sorts. The young girls spirit seams to be in terrible turmoil though. She don't seam possessed though.

The girl runs at inks slashing at her with the sharp bit dangling from the handle, but she's not as fast as inks.

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

*Never can be too easy(^^), i get to deal with
somebody's current or future baggage, bloody
fuckin' spirits.* Pulls her gun, time to take out
the arm with the weapon, preferably at the
shoulder, but i'm okay with the elbow. Repair
bills are relatively cheap, death really does a
number on you. happy to make the spirit suffer
some from infused damage, and keep hopping back.
point blank is nice but no reason to lose a
limb.

(laser infused blast(^^)? 'sorry about the mess'
from mr. solo, in mos eisley)

(Now would have  praobly ben a good time to contact local security)

She takes three damage to the shoulder but soaks one.

She looks at the wound and inks seaming to consider a moment the smile wavering ever so slightly before spreading wider just before she slams the sharp bit and a good bit of the handle through her eye and into her head collapsing like a sack of flour cut open, as inks finds it rather hard to avoid a crimson shower.

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

That is a super mess. Try to bind the spirits
before they leave to something innocuous like
jewelry or clothing. it doesn't have to end here
(willpower blown). Don't know if Owl is listening
but his name will be taken, hopefully not in vain.

along the lines of, 'Owl, don't know if you are
listening but there is some prey here which does
not deserve to live again'. hopefully the thick
gauntlet will mess with these spirits too.

if there is a huge vacuum of silence, what is the
current nature of relations with the refugees?
doesn't sound to hopeful, anything violent yet?

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

(she would know, Luna is diffrent.... most planets have there physical/spiritual self, and there incarnations realm.... the shard realm and other such stuff is a bit of something else to get into...  BUT luna split the physical and spiritual compleatly apart and shed the physical like a skin in a sense and then wraped it around herself. She saw what the corruption had done to her sister and humans brought it with them and she would have none of it. So LONG LONG LONG ago she made it so few would ever be able to reach her true face.... mostly only her children, lunar spirits and the Bestat.)

There was only one soul, she did not seam to be possessed, though her soul seamed to have no say in what was going on.... a human soul was not something she could toy with yet, even temporarily.

Her soul soon found peace at least in being able to join her parents, but not before the body quivered and lifted itself up. It shouldn't be possible for a normal human to move like that, no one has that kinda willpower short of a Do master and there were few of those that where normal human girls.

But still she rose up enough for one final and forceful blow, bashing her head into the ground, braking her nose and cracking the back of her skull slightly open with the box handle. After that she finally stopped moving, and the spirit found it's peace.

Just in time to see this, CCG security turned the corner guns aimed and primed. One starts to order Inks to put her hands up but one closing up a holo display around his power glove and puts a hand on the guys gun lowering it as he walks forward. "Mam, mam are you ok?"

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

Inks eyes have gone wide, but she tries to focus
to sense for scrying(correspondence). Mentally
bringing her mind in line with all points as one,
pulling aside just some of the illusion.

When Inks hears the guards she visibly pauses. She
slowly turns to the security people, putting one
hand up. Trying to play it like the virtuals. Inks
also starts to lower the gun to the ground keeping
it pointed away from the security. Gently resting
it on the ground the girl raises her other hand
and she takes a few careful, perhaps dazed, steps
away.

Eyes still wide the child breathes again deeply,
then 'i...am not sure...what just happened?'
Turning her head slightly to look at the young
body. Slightly louder an edge to her voice 'What
just happened?'

Inks looks again to the guard who spoke, but this
time actually looks at him. Trying to focus on
details without blood spatter.

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

The scary thing is everything seams to be normal, nothing seams to be wrong.

The man looks back to the others still holding there guns. "It's alright, the signal is gone. Get forensics in here." He sighs slowly approaching Inks in a calm friendly manner. "It's ok, everything is going to be fine now. You just experienced an anomaly we are working on finding out the answers but the thing you need to know is its gone now... your safe and nothing else like what you just saw is going to happen right now ok?"

One of the others walks a little away, what would be out of ear shot if not for correspondence, to talk on a com. "Yah, we lost him again..... looks like three, the victim and two others, but there is a witness this time... Yah, I think because she had a gun, you know him rather take himself out in a spectral than go down easy.... ooohhhh yah, you wouldn't believe me if I told you." he says looking back at the bodies. "He dose like to put on a show... yah but we need a team down on my location to clean up the mess, thankfully this is another one we can keep quite. The people have things bad enough they don't need reminders that he's about."

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

'oh...kay.' deep breath, *here and now.* 'Anomaly
is an interesting word to hold all of that. I'm
kinda glad you were tracking the signal. What kind
of signal?' The words are a little rushed, but
otherwise she is staying calm. 'How often does
this "anomaly" occur?'

She keeps the correspondence going but wants a
life look before she gets shuffled off. Inks will
turn off correspondence beforehand unless the
correspondence will last on its own for a while.

So no scrying detected?

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

No more than usual security scans.

"That was Smiling Jack, in the flesh so to speak, not its own but you catch the drift." He sighs some about the signal question. "Yah, don't tell anyone about that, we don't want people going all vigilante or hurting people because there brain waves line up a particular away for a few seconds. The Smiling Jack anomaly seams to be caused by some shift in brain wave patterns, but we can't figure out what is causing it yet. Now if you are up to it will you come with me back with me, we can get you cleaned up and there people who would like to talk to you."

Well rather she saw it in the news or not, its one thing to get it from the news, and a whole other to have it come after you.

"Don't worry about them, a team will be buy in time to save there lives, once evidence has been collected. We are lucky that the governors have set up programs to pay for the restoration of victims of this anomaly."

Mending there body though wasn't going to mend there minds, even if no one was 'dying' of this the murders where still shattering lives. She could only image what it would take for a family to recover from something as horrifying as something forcing there daughter to kill them.
