Operation Stealth Rescue

In the early morning while everyone is in their bunks getting some sleep before Cerise mandatory team training exercise.  Lt. Cerise is called to CIC, She arrives to see the many monitors and techs stations surrounding a holo table in the center of the room. A 3-D image of a Zentraedi Cruiser (Scout Ship) spins slowly over it. The Gambits entire command staff is standing around the table. But it is commander Rockatansky, which acknowledges her.

You notice all eyes are on you. "Any questions?”

Cerise:
"No questions." Cerise salutes and holds attention until dismissed.

Before Cerise is dismissed, Captain Grimm speaks; .  with that you are dismissed.

Ten minutes later the Crew of the Gambit hear the follow "Attention, Attention. Vulture team to report to Briefing room A immediately. Attention, Attention. Vulture team to report to Briefing room A immediately."

When you enter the Briefing Room A, Lt Cerise is standing behind the podium.

Operation Stealth Rescue

Hearing the call to immediately report to the briefing room, Sillia hits the ventilation button so she could open the glass casing door. Quickly she puts on her breather, jumping into the room and grabbing her fatigues. "Hey kid, lets get the lead out. We got a mission." she says enthusiastically. As soon as she is dressed and ready she steps into the hall so the other members of the team can get ready. She walks with them to the hall. whistling the Minmei song lonely soldier boy.

Kaarle woke with a startle, the announcement coming earlier then expected.   Seemed training was on hold now as he scrambled to get changed.  He noticed that Michelle hadn't immediately woken up and shook her bunk violently to get her attention.   "Come on sleeping beauty move that ass"...he said berating her.

As he finished getting ready he watched his Co-pilot for signs that she may have over did it...

Operation Stealth Rescue

Once everyone has assembled, Cerise addresses the unit.
"Ok, soldiers. It's Christmas morning! And the commander has arranged for us to be the ones ot unwrap the gift. Hopefully it isn't a unit of fossilized carbon, but, if it is, we'll turn it into crystallized compressed carbon matrix.

There's a Zent scout ship that appears to be adrift in the next system over. We're going in mecha, with a beta troop ship to carry those of us not in veritechs. The Mask will be bubbling us all over there and provide overwatch from its designated position.

Our orders are to investigate the ship and planets; if it is abandoned, we are to take control of it and return it to the fleet. If there are Zent in the system, though, we need to attempt to make peaceful contact if at all possible. Remember, the Zentraedi are our allies now; if these ones are out of contact with their fleet, then they may not know it, but we should try to bring them in the fold.

We will have exactly 12 hours in system to make this happen, before our only chance to evac will be leaving.

Remember; rules of engagement are to only fire with authorization, unless it jeopardizes the Mask. We have to try to make this peaceful.

Before I finish; everyone congratulate Kchek on his promotion becoming official!

Any questions?"

Operation Stealth Rescue

At the sound of the call, Miriana immediately... turned around on her other side, tapped the snooze button on her alarm clock and promptly dozed off again. She was a good mechanic, and attentive when awake, but also a heavy sleeper that required some effort to lift herself out of bed after waking. It was the reason she had set her alarm at 0500, and while the clock was innocent of this particular disturbance, she had not been awake enough to notice the difference.

Operation Stealth Rescue

Iphigenia didn't get much sleep, she was looking over her team's medical files, and made sure that her medical "go" bag was stocked with everything that she could possibly need for any possible scenario.

The announcement
quote:
"Attention, Attention. Vulture team to report to Briefing room A immediately. Attention, Attention. Vulture team to report to Briefing room A immediately."
startled, she tried to sit straight up only to hit the bunk above her and falls back down "Damn it!" the P.A. system speaker was close to her bunk, and as she finally was able to realise what was going on she said to herself "Why did I choose this bunk again? oh yeah, makes it easier for me to get up and go in a hurry."

Despite being startled awake and now with a headache, she got ready and headed to briefing room A.

Iphigenia wasn't the first one in the room she noticed that Sillia and Kchek were first "Morning Sillia, How did you sleep?"  trying to be friendly and break the tension with a little banter. waiting for the rest of the team to arrive.

Skyrah would awaken early, dutifully, as she always had. Upon noticing that Miriana had not awoken yet she would reach over and shake her awake. "It's time to report. They are calling us for briefing now." Skyrah said in her emotionless tone.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

Hearing the PA system was bad enough, but hearing Kaarle as he shook her bunk just made it worse. She has never felt this horrible and the urge to heave was so intense that she had to catch herself several times before she could even answer. “I heard, sir. Give a minute.” She rolls over and forces her blood shot eyes to open despite the pain she felt.

Her privacy curtain was wide open and she saw her commander looking at her. “Sorry sir,” she said as she allowed herself to roll out of her bunk and land a bit shaky. She straightens up quickly revealing herself to him without a second thought. Her smooth hairless youthful pale skin showed it has not seen daylight in years if ever. Kaarle notices her body jewelry as she turns and grabs her uniform and is dressed within a minute; pulling he hair back into a ponytails, fresh eyeliner and lipstick within two before spinning and stepping into her boots. She wobbles a little bit as she looks up at Kaarle and says “Sorry for the Delay, sir.” She falls in behind Kaarle as they walk to the briefing room, trying to not to be obvious that she is hung over still fighting the urge to lose it as they walked.

Before they leave he makes it a point get Michelle a large glass of water.  "Trust me this will help, your dehydrated..." he said to her, and without missing a beat "and for fucks sake don't throw up during the meeting, get it out of your system NOW not during and certainly not afterwards" as he stopped long enough to let her do whatever she needed to and they continued on their way to the meeting.

He hated having to be so responsible, especially after seeing what he had, clearly modesty wasn't something she had ever learned and he hated himself for enjoying the view.  Pushing the thought aside they made it to the meeting in record time, saluting and taking a seat where available.

"Ah, sorry. I was using a metaphor; in Earth culture during the holiday of Christmas, if one has been a good child, they are given gifts, but if they have misbehaved, they will be given fossilized carbon. Further relevant to my metaphor is that there's a myth that, under great pressure, fossilized carbon will turn into, uh... I think the common term is diamonds.

And, no, no one has detected transmissions; though we will be the first actually in system and I believe the inverse square law implies that such transmissions would be quite less likely to be detected by long range scans than by us while in system."

Miriana's appearance obviously did not concern Skyrah at all, as she knew about Zentradi, Invid, and the MAsters. It was her job. "Now please get up. We will be late."

She will wait for MAriana, then when both are ready will head to the briefing room.

During the briefing, Skyrah will draw in a little drawing pad as she sat there.

- "Zentraedi ship... That's full-sized, right? How you gonna talk to them?"

She raised her hand above her head to indicate the size difference, which she figured to be the main problem in establishing communication. It was hard to notice what was easily overlooked, and Micronians were easily overlooked at those heights.

I suggest stepping out of the cockpit and using the PA in a manner that they can see us physically." She said in though, then her knowledge of tactics went further as data on the system was brought up. "If there is no data available we'll likely have to scan the planet upon arrival into the system, and then send a recon to look at any structures or sources of communications." She said as she continued to sketch in her tablet, which also demonstrated that she was paying perfect attention at the same time.

GM NOte: I am NPCing Cerise for this post as I have the info she lacks.

Cerise notes the time; Speaking; "You have forty minutes to have your combat gear and weapons before you report to the shuttle hanger bay. So unless there are any other questions you are dismissed." The way she emphasized the last statement told everyone there would be no more questions. She then touches a button and ten seconds later everyone's tablets receives the following.

There are  11 planets, 3 gas giants, six dwarf, 2 roughly the size of earth. non are in the sweet zone for life to have evolved. The ship is drifting near the second gas giant, there is a debris/ice ring around it. No there is no data on the system.

GM Note: This is common knowledge to all players and Members of the fleet.
This is the furthest out the UEEF/sentinels have ever been. This includes all the Zentraedi in the Fleet, All that High Command has been able to find on this particlal section of space was it once belonged to their empire. So they have sent this fleet to Explore/investigate and set up a colony world that will allow them to set a forward base to work from. This is part of your over all mission, your going to try and gather information on the regions.

She looks at thirteen and says “Excuse me Thirteen, LT. Grey sounds as though she needs my help.”

You each have grabbed your gear and your way to the Shuttle Hanger bay. The three Alphas and the troop transport Beta are being tended to by their crew being over seen By Kariza. Each of your mecha is on the hanger. The Peryton skimmer appears to be attached under the Right beta wing where missile pods would normally be.  The silver back has a cable attached to it so that the Alpha beta can bring it along. There is a Striker Battloid on the deck being tended to as well. Thirteen, Skyrah, Miriana and Michelle look to see which of the NERV pilots would be stepping out of the shadows. Miriana, Thirteen, Sillia and Iphigenia see their mecha next to the beta. The two cyclones are folded up and the  two hunter Killer suits stand right next to them.

As you each dawn your CVR armor, a large green Zentraedi accompanied by Lt. Fell, the commanders personal assistant approaches your group, she is holding her ever present tablet in her hand as she walks straight towards your assembled group. She gives a hand signal to several deck crewmen. Who push two carts over. The two techs start handing each of you helmets. For everyone not in command they hand you the new Cyclops Recon Helmets. Cerise, Kaarle and Miriana are given new Command Helmets “The Boss”, which look identical to the standard CVR-3 Helmets. You are all instructed to place them on and a second later they are coded to your individual eye retina’s. ( http://wiki.rpol.net/?edit=47792/cvr3 ) Lt. Fell informs you of the overall abilities of the two new upgrades.

Lt. Fell tells Cerise she needs to ride in the beta so that she can monitor the radio communications and the sensors. Lt. Grey will handle the piloting and combat. Lieutenants Cherkovski and Valentine will fly cover for the Landing party. Sgt Eshta will be piloting the Striker Battloid to give the marines a heavy hitter mecha, he is the ranking NCO of the group. She tells you good luck and informs to be in the air in ten minutes. Banshee Squad mounts up and belt in to their seats in the Transport Beta.

Then minutes later the two Delta’s are leading the way out of the hanger followed by the Striker, Lt. Grey takes off slowly as she pulls the silverback out behind her and then pulls it closer to the Aircraft keeping it from becoming a hazard. It takes several minutes and several rotations spins to right it. The craft make their way to the UES Mask and take their position as Mask Actual told them. The Alphas activate their shadow cloaking devices as the UES Mask remind them to keep radio silence before folding.

Two hours later the UES Mask defolds near the Ice chunks and rock ring in orbit of the Gas giant. The signal lights give the team the greenlight and your off.  A twelve hour countdown clock appears in the left top of each of your helmets, and is down twenty minutes as you approach the rear of the Zentraedi Scout ship. A quick recon flyby by Lt. Valentine reveals that there is a lot external damage with no signs of life. But there does appear to be an opening under the engines where a shuttle door was left open. She believes it is the best option for entry.  As she continues to slowly circle the vessel.

GM Note: Ok everyone, one or two quick post to get you to this point as it is time for your mission. Thank you.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

Looking back at Kaarle, she quickly follow Iphigenia to sickbay and despite her fear she focuses on breathing and getting out of there as fast as she can. No sooner then Iphigenia saying done, she runs as fast as possible back to her quarters where she finishes her make up and changes into her flight suit before she goes and collects her Armor and weapons.

She is running trying to make sure she does not disappoint her commander again. When she arrives she smiles with ten minutes to spare. She greets Sillia and the others and though she smiles and tries to hide her blood shot eyes and the fact she is still not one hundred percent. She moves next to Kaarle and says softly; "Sir, I went to sickbay and won't let you down, Sir." her eyes are almost begging with this next bit; "Please don't ground me, Sir."

She recognizes the Zentraedi, Korvan as one of the Commanders friends. Then when she receives the new recon helmet, she frowns and say she does not like it. But does not refuse to put it on when ordered to do so.

When Cerise gives the order to do radio check she complies quickly.

Before take off she tells Cerise that she has set the Beta's autopilot with two set of coordinates, one to the Zentraedi Scout and one to return to the Mask given planned Coordinates for extraction in case something happens. She then tries to lighten the mood by talking to those in the Beta; "Ok ladies and gentlemen we are about ready for take off, please put your tray and seats up and in their up right positions and thank you for flying deaths airway."

while they are in the fold process she looks around to make sure no one can peer into her cockpit.

when they defold she follows the two Delta's and makes sure the Striker battloid is not left behind as they make their the approach to the Zentraedi vessel.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

Kaarle listened throughout the meeting, he went through the motions of acknowledgement and saluting and did everything he had been trained to do...his heart just wasn't in it though.  There was something far darker and more sinister afoot with these kids and here they were flying off chasing after ghosts of Zentraedi past.  He shook the thought out of his head just as Michelle accosts him on her way to sick bay to get med for her hangover.

Michelle Grey:
She moves next to Kaarle and says softly; "Sir, I went to sickbay and won't let you down, Sir." her eyes are almost begging with this next bit; "Please don't ground me, Sir."

"How many times do i have to tell you to stop calling me sir?" he says jokingly to try and get her to calm down.  "You needn't worry about being grounded...your an adult now, piss me off and it's PT" he says with a smile before making his way to the hanger and on with the mission.

He knew what she meant by not being grounded but couldn't help picking on the kid just a little, she just lucky he didn't go full bore while she was nursing the hangover.  Kid or adult it didn't matter, she was a weapon after all, beautiful and deadly...

That realization bothered him more then any other aspect of their missions to date.

Michelle’s Demeanor instantly  changes with Kaarles smile and more importantly the reassurance he would not take away her flight status away. Her smile is almost seductive as she reminds her of their conversation about calling him sir. Her voice is soft and playfully sweet and the hint of her famine charm can just be heard as she replies; “Actually Sir, You said to stop calling you Sir, until it was made official.  She leans forward on her tippy toes just a little over and inch as her smile grows ear to ear as she looks up at him and says; "And well Sir, its official. Your squad leader, Wraith One. Sir!”

Her smile turns to a playful frown as she replies to his suggested PT punishment; “But Kchek, I’m a fragile flower. You’re not supposed to make me do Extra PT, sir.” Her pouting bottom lip quivers as she bats her sapphire blue eyes at you.  Then with a more serious looks She says; “Thank you Kchek, I will not let you down.” With that she lets you get to your stuff and she walks over to get ready herself. But as she walks away you notice her flight suit has added boning to it about her entire suit.

If no other conversation is made she continues on in her first post.

Once everyone began prepping, Miriana waited for a moment while the others worked, so she could take care of a problem directly if something didn't align well on the systems check. She checked on her cyclone and noticed that the side-car was not there as well, and she thought to herself "Should I request that it be brought just in case?"

Iphigenia found her seat, sat down and buckled in. She was waiting for the rest of the crew so that they could leave and get this mission started. She shouted "Let's get this show on the road!"

Once the meeting was over Sillia climbed into her power armor and boarded the Beta. After she secures herself, she removes the power armor's helmet so she can interact with those in the beta.

She looks at the others and with a bit of sarcasm; "Well is it not roomy in here? So what shall we do to entertain ourselves for the flight?" she looks over at thirteen trying to hide in the corner. "Hey kid, I got a reply from my kid sister. She says she like to chat with you. She said she love to have a hunting partner." She gives him a wink with the friendly smile she seemed to always wear.

Miriana gave a quick nod in return to acknowledge Korvan's salute.

- "Excellent, welcome to Banshee Squadron, Sergeant. Do you have a mecha assigned?"

She hadn't heard of someone new transferring in, and figured it had to have been a rather sudden transfer given that the last time she had checked her emails she had heard nothing of it, and she had even seen the Commander yesterday. But no matter, Micronians were disorganized enough by nature for her to have learned to adequately compensate for it by now.

Her choice seemed obvious enough. Sillia, as both scout and sniper, had what she assumed were the best sensor package in the squadron, and Korvan was an expert on Zentraedi vessels so he would be able to add information to whatever sensor feed Sillia would send him. And Thirteen, her XO, to manage and coordinate between them, as she figured he'd be better inside of his suit than out of it.

In a sign of trust, she powered down her weapons before beginning her approach. She still had her fingers ready to power them back up again in case she would be fired upon, but if the scout ship had operational scanners they would pick up on the fact that they were not being regarded as an enemy. And yeah, my intention was to head on board of the disabled ship and see if there was anything in need of repairs to get the scout ship operational again. And Iphigenia, because she's listed as 'Search and Rescue' so if we run into any survivors she can take care of them. Or at least know what to do more than a couple of gearheads like Patterson and me. Wraith was going to cover us, so i figured it'd be fine.

Korvan does a cursory system check even after talking to the flight crew.
Sensory Equipment 60%/50% - Pass

Korvan communicates via radio "This is Whisper, all systems check out in full.  Launching..."
Radio Basic: 70%/67% - Pass.

Korvan enters space last following orders and being rear guard with the rest of Banshee Squadron.

"Team I recommend complete passive sensors only, no radio contact until we land on that ship.  Chances are this is a trap set up by surviving Zentraedi and/or a lure for the Invid.  There is a good chance a beacon may have already been sent when our fleet arrive in system.  There is too much space debris and and junk floating around in space to assume its clear. It makes me a bit nervous. If we have Shadow Fighters available I recommend another sweep of the ship especially around enemy anti aircraft locations any other ice debris or chunks of metal that may mask against and please fly to the other side of the ship as well.  The ship has not detected any active sensors being used against us but people have eyes.  I also recommend and this is up to the CO is to allow me to enter that hanger and sweep the area with one other designated person of your choice.  Other notes of interest.  That ship has holes and debris so contact with our ship will be limited to non existent.  Remember we may be facing a full on set and then more of surviving Zentreadi so expect to see a a plethora of foot soldiers, Battle Pods, OBP, and male power armor. So keep your guard up and eyes and ears open and do not just trust your scopes."

Secure Communicae to Lt. Thakun
"Ma'am I also recommend portable radio transpeaters for situations like this.  I also recommend if anyone on our team has extensive knowledge of computer systems to download anything they can find especially navigation and missions this vessel has participated in there should a log somewhere in the data banks and a back up location typically located at the center of the scout ship."

Unlike Zentraedi, the humans' ranks could not be determined by simply looking at them as they tended to fly the same fighters to avoid their command structure being targeted. Their uniforms clearly showed their ranks, but by the time one could get close enough to see it they were already far closer than they needed to be to fire. Regardless, she had to admit the idea did hold some merit.

Korvan Manages to grab the silverback maneuvering it so it was almost like a shield in case he drew fire from an unseen enemy. He finds nothing with his scans just before the Beta enters the Empty hanger. There is no gravity and he is holding the Mecha in place so that the CO can get into her mecha quickly.

The beta goes into standby as the pilot compartment opens and allows Cerise to exit, the troops in the Transport signals everyone to put on their helmets and secure them for hostile environment.

Once everyone is secured they disembark the transport. They use their light to find Human sized cat walks at head level or higher of a typical Zentraedi. However the is little else in this area, its completely empty, whether someone took the stuff or maybe it just floated off into space over the years. Touching anything in this area shows about an inch of dust on the surfaces.

There is a wall with what looks like various controls on the other side of the entry with openings to either side. the only light in this area is what you brought with you and the stars that shine in through the open hanger door.

Both Skyrah and Michelle see nothing on their sensors as they watch either side. Kaarle's sensors show nothing as well as he gives cover are the entry.

Sillia gives her commanding officer a look, then says; "Well ma'am, Tiger it is." with that she announces to the Group; "I'm Tigress hear me roar." looking back to Miriana; "Sorry ma'am. I like being a sexy girl cat."

As the transport makes its entry she loads he Armor Piercing Cannon. And prepares to engage the enemy.

She looks back at Thirteen and nods her head; "I agree with you there."

As soon as the door opens she follows the others out her rifle in the ready and she quickly scans the area through the scopes optics searching for a target. When she finds nothing she calls out; "Clear."

Miriana is able to get the console to come to life as she begins to tinker with the controls.

Wraith squad joins the others either in guardian or Battloid mode.

  Korvan guards the entry from space. He speaks over the radio for all to hear;

Matt assist with those in need with their mecha.

Thirteen and Iphigenia both transforms their cyclones into battloid mode and get ready.

Cerise (Your cargo pods do not drop off your Silverback, they stay attached unlike the cyclones) Your silver back transforms and all systems are ready. Severian pulls up beside you.

Severian you find the lack of gravity requires you to focus just a little more while piloting your skimmer, however it does not take you long to get it down. You await Cerise's reply.

The Beta sits in the center of the Bay with Matt who is now suited up in his own cyclone, and like Korvan taking up a protective stance to protect the ride home.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

Miriana worked the console, trying to determine what model and make it was by entering some very basic, low clearance commands and seeing how the system reacted to it. She would then carefully keep increasing the clearance level for the commands that were entered to see just how much the console was willing to give her the authority to do. After all, she was a Zentraedi with a set of clearance codes of her own, so she figured she would be able to get some level of access using them.

Being in the mecha by herself is one thing but being in such an enclosed space, with others around her, she was starting to slowly hyperventilate, she listened to her own breathing to calm herself down.

She went to the elevator, and stood at the back where she had been instructed to stand.

As the elevator moves upwards, Cerise positions her Silverback in front of the Medic; for most of the team, the medic was the most critical member, so it is important to keep her safe. Meanwhile she readies her weapons and prepares for the worst; any breech is dangerous, an elevator is even worse. After she has verified that her weaponry is all ready, she readies her mind next; she needs to be ready to talk, not just shoot.

The motion upwards creates acceleration, giving a sensation of a bit of gravity. At least that can e reassuring.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

As the final members of the group enter the elevator the three alphas take to the front of the entrance, Kaarle in the center in guardian mode while Skyrah take the right and Michelle the left.  Each of you hears the familiar sounds of compression as it pressurizes with the rest of the ship.  The slow accent feels like an agonizing eternity.

When it finally reaches the third floor, its doors open and you see a large empty mecha hanger behind three groups of three mecha, each group consist of two floating mecha and one on legs. All your combat computers identify them as Primary Defense Drones (with the legs), and Light Assault Drone (the floating). They are all facing the elevator entry as if they were waiting for you. Before you can close the doors, the elevator powers down with the doors wide open.  The three alphas computers scream as weapon lock has been acquired upon them. Firing at their acquired targets the battle begins.

Each of the groups has targeted the Alpha in front of them. Get ready folks you’re in combat. The first round is drones attacking alphas as they are in the front of the group.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

As the elevator doors closed Iphigenia thought to herself “Why, why did I not speak up more about waiting?”
The next thing Iphigenia saw was Cerise standing in front of her, Michelle, Skyrah and Kaarle in front of her, all of them in battle-mode. The elevator doors open, Iphigenia couldn’t see much at first, until they started to move and dodge noticing the drones that were firing upon them.
Iphigenia was glad that she was in battle-mode herself, and was prepared to fight.

Thirteen had waited for orders but every ones reaction soon made clear to him what he had to do. He activated his trusters and moved upwards but still behind the larger mechs waiting for the opening volley to pass him. At that moment he draw his blades and pounced on one of the Drones. He punched into the drones with his blades hoping he would ruin something with the internal mechanics and hopefully cause it to fall.

As the drones opened fire, Miriana tried to maneuver herself in a better firing position, which in the case of the elevator meant she needed to make sure she wouldn't be shooting the Alphas in the back. While doing so, she flicked open the comms to send a quick message to Thirteen.

[Language unknown: "Ouswitcomour, Lati she heunwa reit oreectlarwhi paieatwh."]

Part of her did wonder whether her old Zentraedi IFF codes would keep her from getting shot at, but given the situation and the fact that she had gotten a new set since joining the UEEF she wasn't about to risk getting shot just to test her theory. Instead, she opted for a more thorough approach, and opened fire.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

1 - Thirteen Jumps and kicks his thrusters on working his way around the alphas. Michelle opens fires on the heavy drone in front of her however she misses.. Iphigenia opens fires and scores a direct hit. Drones unit one opens fires upon Skyrah missing her as she charges dodging their fire. Drone unit two opens fires on Kaarle who dodges their attacks as he closes the distance. Cerise activates the combat computers and adding bonuses to all. Drone unit it three opens fire on Michelle, each scoring hits. Sillia misses her shot as she fires at the drones in group two.  Severian cast his spell causing three more of him to appear.

2 - Thirteen leaps into the air gaining height as he closes the last bit of distance to the drones. Michelles dodges the fire of drone group three as they target her. Skyrah opens up with a volley of missile which miss their targets exploding on the far wall. The damage is intense and the structural integrity is in question there. Opening fire on the Heavy drone Iphigenia manages to score another hit. Drone unit one manages to score several hits on Skyrah doing heavy damage causing several system check lights to kick on. Kaarle is hit by drone unit two causing system lights to come on as well.  Miriana opens up with her drum gun hitting the heavy drone. Cerise jams the radio signal of the Drones. Kaarle missile volley flies past their target damaging the wall behind them. Sillia’s second shot scores a hit on her targeted heavy drone. Severian flies up and dodges the general fire of both sides.

3 -  The drones all seem to have paused; Thirteen sends himself into a light drone stabbing down onto it from above driving it down.   Michelle fires her EU 13 hitting the heavy drone. Skyrah opens up with another volley of missiles scoring direct hits destroying the heavy drone and one of the light drones with her strike. Again Iphigenia score another hit on the heavy drone she is targeting. Miriana misses her target as she move to take aim. Cerise jams the enemy Radar. Kaarles missile volley destroy the Heavy drone and severely damages one of the light drones. Sillia changes target as the heavy drone explodes, sending the damaged light drone to the ground. Severian strafes and hits one of the light drones still intact.

4 -  Thirteen stabs into the drone again as it tried to lift itself up again. Michelle fires a volley of missiles destroying the heavy drone and one of the light drones with her strike. Skyrah destroys the last light drone from her attacking group. Firing on the downed drone thirteen is attacking, Iphigenia scores another hit. Mirrianas shot on the same down drone finished it off. Forcing thirteen to jump up  to avoid the shrapnel. Kaarle fires on the last remaining light drone scoring a solid hit. Sillia takes aim and fires with a solid hit on the light drone but it is Severian strafing run that brings down the last of the drones.

Everyone scans the area. To confirm its all clear, the Veritechs though damaged are not in critical condition.

GM Note. I will get to the ammo/missile consumption as well as the damage tomorrow after i get up. Its late now, but i wanted to get this combat round posted. The only issue I found with your guys post was several times no target was specified. otherwise, great job everyone. you guys did great.

There wasn't much that could be done when it came to the frame and plating itself, but if it was a matter of wiring and electronics she could cannibalize the drones for some parts and jury-rig something together that might hold up until they could make it back to the Gambit.

Miriana took the hard drive from Thirteen, and proceeded to work on it, trying to interface it with the means she had at her disposal. Which, considering she did not have her tools with her and her specialty was more in the physical parts than programming, wasn't much. But she still attempted it nonetheless.

That said, given the above she would err on the side of caution, and prevent damage to the drive as best she was able in favor of forcing a connection.

- "In all honesty, a fairly common safety protocol is to wipe the drives in case the drone is disabled, so what i expect to find is nothing. If, for some reason, this protocol failed to initiate, then most likely the drones' standing orders to eliminate any hostiles attempting to access the ship. Which, as you may have noticed, includes us."

She paused for a moment, her HK rubbing its chin in thought with a soft metallic scrape.

- "What i am more curious about however is that the ship does not seem to be on high alert. My theory is that the auto-defense system malfunctioned and saw the former crew as a hostile force, which would explain the lack of signs of life and the relatively good condition of the ship. But i lack proof."

Skyrah is the first into the hall her EU13 in the ready, she checks her sensors but finds nothing. She moves forward with Kaarle right behind her as they make their way to the central hall.

The others fall in between them and Michelle who is watching the rear and her sensors.

There's a hatch on either side  of the hall. Skyrah moves forward till she is in front of the hatches.

To the left is an abandon medical facility, nothing is left of any real value. To the right Is an empty store room. Again nothing of value. Moving forward you enter a service hatch which takes you into the auxiliary engines. There is several ladders that take you to the level above and below.

Miriana finds tools and equipment she can use. While the majority of the work stations here are designed for Large Zentraedi there are stations where Mirconized individuals can work as well. However She is unable to read the language. Cerise  runs across something referring this vessel once belonging to a Ci'Vonian fleet, as she translate the Tirolian language on the computer until they figure out how to change it to Zentraedi.

The Hard drive have the basic functions and duties, the drone receives orders and is connected to the others drones by radio. You are able to learn the ships AI is still functional. You also discover the ship is broadcasting a signal to a planet several light years away before the ships AI discovers you poking around. And begins its attempts to lock you out.

Cerise hopes that the Zentraedi can be reasoned with, so, since there won't be a better time, she fires up comms and tries standard Zentraedi and Tirolian hailing frequencies, using the appropriate language for the frequency, favoring Zentraedi where they overlap.

Kchek was fortunate that he was sitting in his veritech otherwise his frustration with reader would be quite visible and obvious to all.  She'd missed his point entirely, that being that having someone who knew what the fuck they were doing in her pilot seat was far more important than her running a fools errand when others were just as capable.  It was clear she wanted to run the show and didn't think anyone else capable of sound decision making.  The whole point of keeping everyone together was just that they were weakened from the last fight and would be even further weakened if they lost her right now.  A lot of assumptions were being made right now and the reality is no one knew anything other then we were ambushed but as of yet have seen no follow up to that original offensive...

He sat back in his seat weighing everything Reader has said up to the point of saying "no disrespect" to Cerise before opening comms to prevent any further ranting from Reader.

Cerise is a bit frustrated by the total breakdown in chain of command, but then she remembers that humans at this age are becomign adults; it is standard development for them to question authority. It can be met with authoritarianism, which will generally cause them to rebel even further, or the logic of the orders can be explained until they understand it and can accept it. Cerise opts for the latter, since the former at the wrong time could get them all killed.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

Before she could articulate the feeling she was experiencing she was being ordered to disembark her veritech in a combat zone. Before she could even get her Alpha transformed she was being ordered to open her canopy.

She tries to get the process done as quickly as possible, but her head hurt from whatever it was trying to penetrate her brain. She switch her Alpha to guardian mode. Opening her canopy as ordered she sees the barrel of Kaarle's weapon aiming at her. If he could see her eyes, he would have seen the hurt behind them. Raising her hands, she straightens up her posture. "If your gonna shoot, Aim for my head sir. Have the decency to make it quick."

She realized any attempt to move to retake control of her alpha and attempt to defend herself would not end well for her. She just hung her head, shamed for revealing any weakness to him.

Reflexively she reached for the back of her head in pain, before quickly bringing her hands back up quickly. She looks back up to look death in the eyes, She was not afraid to die. It was just sad that the person that would kill her was the one she had trusted. She missed Karma at this moment as she looked up at Kaarle's Veritechs head.

As he helped batgirl to the floor for aid Kchek was still shaking inside his mech pissed off at the situation.  It was obvious no one had considered a contingency where these kids were so ingrained with their mechs that someone could potentially hack their brains like any other computer.  The worst case scenario frightened him...if the others didn't immediately follow orders what choice would he have other then to shoot or hope for the best...

Thirteen nods and assumes he position to return the Cyclone to its vehicle form. He goes through the process of converting the Cyclone back into bike mode as he thinks about what Sillia said.

"It's not mental... and apparently it is affecting the others because Command called in which means..." He thought then looked back towards Sillia.

"Don't worry about me. Call back and make sure they understand that the problem is not just us three. All of our mecha might be in the process of being hacked."

Kchek's voice cracks from the anxiety he is feeling as well as the lack of support from Cerise who said it herself she couldn't guarantee these kids haven't been compromised.

Obviously he wasn't making any friends here but until situation was secure and they were cleared he couldn't trust them to be in control of heavily armored vehicles of mass destruction.  If that meant arresting each one of them, having someone else fly the mechs back then so be it.

Maybe he's alone in these worries, maybe he's overreacting, but until Taranis and or a medic cleared these kids he wasn't taking a chance.

The pain in the back of her head was nothing she could not handle. It was not the worst thing she had suffered through worst. It was the fact that Kchek had his weapon drawn on her.
  She opened her radio;

Once she transforms to guardian mode she looks out and sees the situation. Again opening her radio:

Once the Delta's canopy opened up she jumps out setting herself into motion so she would touch down on the deck instead of floating off.

Michelle's World began to spin as Iphigenia began to approach her. whispering to herself; "I thought you liked me." her chest began to tighten, and the soothing hypnotic voice of Iphigenia was not helping her to calm down as she inched ever closer. Her heart was screaming a million beats a second, she was fighting to breath as her vision began to blur. "why are you torturing me?"  With that she snaps, she cannot die like this. she allowed herself to fall for another one of NERV's traps, with cat like reflexs she has her Gallant H-90 pointing at Iphigenia head. Screaming as her voice is breaking, her body  shaking so hard its apparent  despite her armor. "Get back, stay away from me, you cannot torture me anymore!"
She steps back, maintaining as much distance as she can. while trying to get back to her alpha.

Hearing the orders from Duchess and realizing that it wasn't just the kids he cursed himself for not seeing the reality sooner.  They all had computerized mecha, the kids would see the problem first but inevitably they all would be susceptible to intrusion.  He watched with relief as Reader got out of her mech and lowered his weapon.  He was just about to open his cock pit and shut down when Bat-girl decided to go native and freak out on Duchess.

He moved to intercept her with his mecha using his free hand to prevent access to the cockpit before opening his own up and powering down as ordered.  Before climbing out he reaches up under flight control panel making short work of the control cabling, he knew it wouldn't stop someone for very long but he wasn't about have his mecha stolen by Michelle while trying to diffuse the situation.

Breaking protocol he yelled down to the frightened girl.  "Michelle stop, its me Kaarle...can you hear me in there?" he says as he moves to step off the Delta and begins to slow float down to Michelle, his arms out wide showing that he wasn't visibly armed.  In reality his side arm was still holstered on his right though he had no intention of using it.

"Please focus, your out now, they can't fuck with your head anymore." he says landing near her.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

Thirteen sighed as pulled his armor fully up to bike mode and turned it off. He did so partly out of relief that Sillia had sent in the warning and partly because of the headache he now had. His head felt like it had been kicked by a Zentradi but...

"Still doesn't feel as bad as the procedure."

He thought as he pondered what that meant. He then remembered how Michelle had reacted and could only imagine what she felt now. He really hoped someone would give her some understanding. That is assuming the others actually fought off the intrusion. Cerise's command only increased his worry about the others.

He powered down as command and thought for a moment then looked at the others.

"A likely source for the intrusion would be the two of us who tried to access their computer systems. Maybe they accessed us while we were trying to access them."

Skyrah sat on the shoulder of her Delta awaiting further orders.  Batgirl had been there for her so many times before when her fear of animals came out full bore. She frowned, deeply, and wanted to move to her but there was the order to give her space. For now she would let Kchek handle Michelle.

She would stand and float over to Sue, landing next to her. She did not want to use the radios. "Ma'am, I have an idea, but it would be dangerous for the one that does it." Then she frowned gently, placing a hand on a small wooden case next to her. "Under the assumption that these Zentradi have not been influenced by our culture, an assumption based on there very anti-human tactics; we might be able to use their hacking attempt, and my proficiency with music as a means to bring this situation at least a bit more equal." She would pause there awaiting to see if Sue wanted to hear her idea.

As Kaarle approaches her, she turns her weapon to him, still unable to grasp reality. When her back hits Kchek's Dealta's hand she realizes the she is now trapped. The tears flowed down her face as she Again whispered to herself; "I thought you liked me." She found it hard to breath. She could not bring herself to shoot him. however she would not allow herself being tortured. She made up her mind, staring at him, her last spoken before she opened her helmet to the environment. "I thought you liked me."

She struggled to keep her weapon up, but as the air was sucked out of her lungs she lost the struggle and her body simply floats as her CVR warning system goes critical.

She started to turn towards her Delta, but then stopped for a moment, looking over her shoulder towards Cerise. "Ma'am, something about this entire situation smells." She said with a small sigh. "Everything that's happened is to easy. They let us just walk right in, then the fighters showed up. They let our recon head to the engine room unmolested. Even their attempt to hack us was sub par. They are herding us. They know where we are heading, and possibly knew it before we left. Either way, once we get to the engine room thats when the real trouble will start I wager. And if I am right, they will not let us leave there." She stated matter of factly, but then added. "However, I hope I am wrong on all counts."

Iphigena gives Batgirl a mild sedative to help calm her down, turns her mecha back on and then proceeds with her orders and makes her way to the engine room, she stops at each of the remaining children to make sure that everything is alright along the way.

Thirteen nods and works with his receivers on the Cyclone to turn them off, cutting all information coming in or out of his Cyclone. Once that is done he turns the Cyclone back on and runs a diagnostic to see if the system had been left compromised. If everything looks clean he manually activates the transformation process and activates his link once everything is done.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

As the oxygen levels stabilize, Michelle wakes she starts to struggle against the hold restraining her till she realize who it is holding her. She allows her head to rest against his shoulder, she does not fight as Iphigenia injects her with the sedative despite her uncontrollable shaking. When she is passed off by Kaarle she is tense. but again she does not fight.

  When the Commander comes over the radio, she replies knowing the meaning in which he truly meant;

Once she is allowed to return to her alpha she grabs her tablet and looks at it for a minute and kicks her self back over to Kaarles delta. She taps on his entry point. Once he replies she hands him her tablet. "Please give this to the commander. Will you please take my photo above my bed and put it in Karma's hand when you get back? I am sorry for not being a better subornate, Kchek." It has been an honor serving under your command. Thank you!" She then straighten up and salutes, before kicking herself back to her own alpha.

  Once she has collected her Gallant and reseated herself in her Alpha, she calls over the radio;

Once she is given permission she makes her way back to the elevator before forcing her way down to the shuttle deck. Once sparks finishes his work she links the alpha and beta and sits huddled up in her cockpit staring out at the debris ring and planet behind them forming a plan.

In reply to Kaarle Cherkovski (msg # 231):

As Skyrah floated back to her Delta, something dawned on her. There was a key point in the plan outlined by the Commander. When she ran his entire plan in her head, she realized it might have been intentional on the Commander's part. Once her mind processed the hole in the plan, she began to immediately formulate a plan and tactic based on what she has discovered. By the time she had reached Albatros the plan was formed. Finally she would pipe up her coms.  She would let that sink in for a moment.  A point on the outside hull of the ship near one of the thrusters pops into view.  Reader explained.  With the plan she laid out Skyrah points out the loophole she observed in the Commander's plan, that being that her and Kchek are only to escort Banshee to the extraction point, and that Batgirl is to engage the enemy however she wishes. Her plan executes both loopholes expertly, and places them in a position to defend the extraction point longer than instructed.

If you feel the need to baby sit her then escort her to the beta. Or is this so you can try and prevent her from carrying out her final order. I respect what your trying to do, but your actions are showing the troops the lack of respect of the chain of command. And right now Sir this is not advisable."

Without pause he continues; "PFC Sillia find a high spot and cover that entry to the main section of the ship. Thirteen I want you above that door, anyone or thing making entry from that location which is not one of us is to be shot by Sillia and then you go in for the kill. Is this understood MARINES?" Severian if you can assist the Lieutenant with their computer stuff that would be greatly appreciated.

Lt. Sue, external entry is being secured now. I recommend we get the Commanders comms link established quickly and get the job done so we can go home, before Sparks gets finished setting all those explosives. Once the comms link is estabished I recommend we send the recon team forward to secure our airlock exit. If Lt. Kchek goes with Lt. Batgirl to the beta I suggest Reader and myself stay with you and Lt. Miriana are finished So we can escort you to the exit point.

It does not take Miriana long to get the computer and comms on Skyrah's Cyclone linked to the beta by radio. Cerise and Miriana are able to hack into the ships vessels secondary computer system. The vessel deck plans along with all the non critical systems are accessible and slowly transferring to the gambit.

Cerise has the silverbacks jamming systems  blocking all signals not UEEF ship wide. The three drones float to docking stations and land and seem to enter some type of hibernation mode.

Matt begins to set the explosives while making his way to the engine room with the others. Its taking him some time as he follows commands orders of where to place them in the auxiliary engine room.

Kaarle had a lot to say, more so than any of them realized.  None of them were volunteering for a suicide run, none of them had an real skin in the game as far as he was concerned and he question all of the alien loyalties when it came to who he could really trust among this group.

He bit his tongue as Cerise scolded him and simply nodded in agreement, now wasn't the time for further arguing, a plan was hatched and the wheels were in motion.  This time tomorrow they'd back, he'd probably be in the brig, michelle on her way back to the science lab.  It wasn't what he wanted but letting her die needlessly wasn't what he wanted.  He cared for the young woman more then he let on, and everything up until this has been one big cluster fucking in proving that, proving his worth as a commander of a squadron, hell the last battle wasn't even his best showing against drones no less.

Pushing the thoughts followed readers lead in prep of their coming fight.

The vessel was severely damaged after the final battle with the master over Tirol. The retreating fleet set it up as a death trap for any following them. It sends battle reports to a relay station.
Yes the Ships AI is in command of the ship and has been slowly repairing itself over the last thousand years. Its drone complements are Nealy exhausted. There are six heavy defense drones as well as three female power armor drones and the ten fighters awaiting you outside besides the various work drones throughout the ship.
The Drones all have AIs but when needed the Vessel can coordinate the drones as needed.

With that she helps do the technical work, and, when complete, she gives the official orders.

"Understood ma'am." Skyrah said with a simple nod, confirming her orders. "One more thing ma'am, I have reserved my entire complement of medium range multi warhead missiles. They are built for anti ship use. This entire thing seemed like a trap to me, so I concentrated use of ammo to smaller missiles and cannons. If we become trapped in the engine room, let me know where you want an exit point made and I will do so." It seems that Skyrah had thought ahead, just incase they needed to make their own extraction point.

Once Cerise acknowledged what Skyrah had said, she will get into position and then begin making the recording of her flute playing as the others worked on the data link. If she does not like the one she does, she will make another, and continue to do so until she has one that will touch the soul, just right, and sounds good.

Michelle Salutes Cerise and acknowledges her verbally with a; "yes Ma'am."

She is happy the Kaarle accompanies her part of the way, but when the words "as a friend" slips from his lips, it felt like a knife had just pierced her chest.

She smiled despite her sudden sadness. "I'll do my best to follow your orders Kchek. You have my word."

As she links to the beta she reports to both Command groups so they know she is following her orders. She then pulls her legs up and stares out of the entry watching the fighters flying in a counter and clockwise pattern in groups of five. after a short time she begins to time them and finds they are in a continuous flight pattern.

After awhile, but still with plenty of time before she is to lead them away she opens the canopy after placing her helmet back on she climbs out of the cockpit. allowing herself to float next to the alpha, she stares at the ice formations surrounding the planet. They are so beautiful she thinks of flying straight through them and enter the gas giant behind them. She smiles at the thought, she would be dead before she could truly feel it if she went fast enough. But the realization of Kaarle behavior would have him chase after her searching for any chance of her survival and needing rescue. Everything she thought up again brought him trying to save her disregarding orders and getting him in trouble.
It was here that she decided she would keep her word and try to follow Skyrah plan despite her penalties when she returned to the Gambit. She would be shot but at least Kaarle would follow orders and be safe. "Dam your stubborness Kaarle." she says to the emptiness of space. an hour before it is time to depart she begins to go through a systems check and again report to both sets of command allowing them to know she is fully ready to depart on their mark.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

The eight hours are finally over, Sparks has finished the secondary check on the explosives and remote detonator which he set. Command finally gives the order, which everyone is waiting for. It’s time to get off this ghost ship and get home. The tension can be felt as you listen to the radio as command begins to orchestrate your departure. You recognize the young woman’s voice on the radio giving the orders; it’s the commander’s assistant, First Lieutenant Fell.
  Michelle’s voice sounds cold and methodical as she replies;
   Michelle Watches the timer she set to keep pace of the enemy, the beta mini-missile launchers open up as she begins to sing to herself;
Twenty mini missiles fire as the counter hits zero. She punches the thrusters to full thrust a second later following them out. The missile collide into the sides of four of the Gnerl causing them to explode out and away, As Batgirl flies through the shrapnel trying to avoid the larger debris as she spins, knowing she had to survive to protect the others despite the consequences she faced in doing so. (pilot veritech) However she clips a tail fin from one of the fighter pods with the alpha slicing along the nose and around to the belly as she tries to compensate. The fifth one opens fire with a volley of six short range missiles as it makes corrects its course to give pursuit. Bat-girl jinks left then right as the missiles passed then exploded forcing her to jink again.
The remaining five dive below the Scout ship to target the Legios trying to escape. They each in turn fire a volley of six missiles trying to end this attempt quickly. One volley is lost into the depths of space as the other four lock on target.
As the combat computer screams to life as the twenty four missiles secure missile lock upon her.  She fires a volley of eight short range missiles from the Alpha undercarriage (legs)  Her volley connects with the mass body of missiles and the combined explosion destroys all but one volley as it screams past the explosion. Despite her attempt she is unable to shake them and is hit as she rolls to minimize the damage (roll with Impact) the beta is struck sending system warning across the board. She looks at her sensors to adjust her plans when she notices the three suits of female power armor floating less the fifty feet above the scout ship.  She said, in the cold tones of death.
   Lt. Fells voice is hear in reply;   Then she addresses Vulture team;

Cerise looks around to make sure everyone is aware of the plan, then steps to the door; coordination will be key here so stepping out before everyone is ready won't be helpful. When it is time, she pokes out the door far enough to clear one of her launchers and fires 7 HEAP, 8 Plasma, and the smoke from it.
As soon as the missiles are free, she turns and runs aft, down the ship, trying to get to the ladders, emptying the doorway for the next person.

OOC: Well, unless we've identified another way out; my head is still a bit fuzzy, and it is possible that I missed something or misunderstood something; wasn't the plan from command that we would exit the ship the way we came in and head for the rendezvous point, using batgirl to draw off the opposition? Or was it less specific than that? Are we aware of any other exits? Do we think we could breech the hull with what we have?

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

Your team is to evac to extraction. While bat girl tries to hold draw the fighter pods away.

There are airlocks in every level and yes you know where all the major ones are. They are the A's on the ships basic drawing.

Command was not sure where the female power armors were till batgirl's targeter identified them above the cruiser. So they planned on you going out an airlock on this level. But if you decide to take current data and go backwards, cerise has tactical command in this moment.

The answer is yes, you could breach the hall, but it could consume alot of your missiles and alert the female power armors of your position.

ooc: ok, I get the situation now. Hard to edit on my phone, but I am going to change the orders so we still go back to the ladders, but only go down to the 3rd, floor, where we already took out the drones, then we can take the airlock on the opposite side from the female power armor; basically try to keep the bulk of the ship between us and them as much as possible until we are well away from the ship.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

Cerise fires her missiles into the chamber with the Defense drones and is lucky enough to avoid being hit by multible shots from secondary weapons. Smoke begins to enter the engine room before the Hatches closes and begins to echo with the sounds of impacts. Korvan, takes rearguard as Skyrah takes the lead and back tracks to the ladders and down to the third level.

Command watches closely as the group moves backwards. And reformulate their odds. It is decided to try to draw the Power armor away.

Michelle sighs as she hears the new order;  She looks at her radar and notices the fighter pods are almost on her. Her combat computer indicates another eighteen missiles are shot at her. She flips her fighter a hundred and eight degrees firing the beta's remaining sixteen missiles. causing the incoming missiles to explode. The alphas is struck by the debris of the missiles as she flies straight back at the fighter pods.

Skyrah is the first down the ladder chutes followed by Kaarle and then the rest. Once you are all down and the room secured, you make your way toward the airlock.

the Six fighter pods open up on Michelle with their particle beam cannons, she tried to dodge the first two fighter pods shot but is hit square on. She changed tactics and rolled to use the beta as a shield. which worked as she flew through the formation. forcing the fighter pods to maneuver so they could give chase once more.

Your group arrives at the airlock and is ordered to standby, by command while Batgirl attempts to draw off the power armor suits.

Michelle following orders is forced to attempt to shoot down twelve more missiles from the fighter pods, however she is unable to shoot them down. Knowing she has no chance.  She ejects from the beta just as the missiles strike blowing it up sending large junks of debris into the alpha as it is thrown about. Singing once more as she tries to full fill her orders.
Regaining control of her veritech she fires all remaining missiles at the three female power armor suits.

The suit on the right fires twenty mini missiles into  Michelle's volley destroying the majority of them before closing the final mile. The three are easily able to dodge the few remaining which explode on the ships outer hull. The three of them give chase to the new threat which has fired upon them, since they were currently cut off from the ships AI.

she watches as her radar blinks and dies.  She is hit several times and just starts twisting and jinking randomly. taking another shot causing her communication system mass damage.

A total of 2 minutes have passed.

Kaarle slams his fist on his control panel realizing that they have little time now, stuff hardly ever goes as planned and now it was evident that Michelle wouldn't last much longer.  With her radar gone she was a sitting duck, and with comm's out too he couldn't even order her to eject at this point.  He knew what he had to do, readers ambush was out at this point and the only thing left was to switch to fighter mode once outside and kick these delta's in ass and try to catch up.

Miriana had been watching the battle in silence. Impatience had never been beneficial to discipline, and regardless of what she had to say about it it would not change the execution of the plan. When cerise gave the go ahead, she flipped open her own radio in response.

[Language unknown: Ncevirain. Alofmi hockne ter.]

She then took up position, and waited for Banshee to get ready before heading out. She had barely expended any ammunition since boarding so most of her guns were still topped off, but they were anti-infantry, not anti-mech, and as such it would be hard to penetrate the armor unless she got a lucky hit in. Space hulls were made to resist the impact of small solid objects and debris after all, especially combat units like the ones they were facing.

Reader blows the airlock and is first out. Followed By Kaarle as they both transform to fighter mode. Thier radars show the fighter pods just missing them as they fly past in pursuit of they prey who is making course correction for the planet. as she twist and jinks in random directions.

as they give chase banshee squad is sucked out into open space and find the three suits of female power armors back side as they begin to give chase of their own prey.

your now in combat post. Remember you do have missile which are double range in space. plus. all 3 suits are within 2000 feet of Banshee Squad.

Wraith squad is within 20 miles of fighter pods and can close the distance in to melee actions as they are going slower while firing at Batgirl.

Cerise starts out by turning on her combat computer; what with the very unusual layout of friendlies, this takes her a bit to set up. After that she fires a volley of missiles at the lead female power armor, and makes a couple of bursts at her as well (obviously switching targets as necessary).

Skill Rolls:

JIC: (just in case) this is a roll of a D20 and a roll of a percentile dice (D100) this is for those things you may not see. Like a Secret door, a glint of the snipers scope as the lite catches it just right. It’s just a natural roll, no bonuses exist for this.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

Miriana assessed the situation as soon as she had the opportnity to. There were three suits at the very limit of her missile range, and they were well out of range of her guns as well, but anyone that had ever crewed on a warship knew that all of them needed some kind of close-in weapon system to take down enemy missiles before they managed to breach the hull, and with the lot of them in close formation like this, she figured that just about counted in her view. And so, she designated herself into a role of shooting down incoming enemy missiles so the others would have more opportunities to focus on offense against mechs they were much better equipped to handle than her Hunter-Killer.

Actions: 6

Severian board the silverback with Cerise, saying "I hope this is not standard operating procedure for your expeditionary forces - if it is, I may have to research new spells that are useful when being blown out of airlocks into the vaccum of space" As Banshee squad is pushed forward by Korvan who is focused entirely on getting the group back to the MASK as Cerise begins activating the combat computer to link everyone’s together.  Switching her veritech into fighter mode, Readers voice comes over the radio; "Beginning Plan, Culture Shock. Broadcasting on all frequencies." Then the radio comes to life with beautiful flute music which is being broadcasted over all frequencies which is very soothing.

Sillia fires her two mini missiles at the first female power armor suit however it is able to easily dodge her attack as it spins around to address the new threat as Reader fires her own missiles at the fighter pod closest to Batgirl causing it to explode when it was unable to dodge the two medium range missile fast enough. Iphigenia is unable to get a good shot off as she opens fires at one of the female suit.

Thirteen Targets the closet suit of female power armor and let’s loose a full volley of six mini missiles from his chest; unable to dodge the volley the female power armor takes the full impact before setting its sites on him.

Switching his veritech into fighter mode  he is quick to get out of the airlock, still upset he acknowledges Reader and targets the female power armor letting her take the fighter pods. He cuts loose with eight short range missiles and smiles as the thing explode while trying to dodge the mass amount of missiles.

Three of the fighter pods break off their pursuit of Michelle as the greater threat behind them required their attention.  They flip a hundred eighty degree turn firing their rotary particle cannons which she is able to dodge but causing her to have to redirect her veritech.

The two remaining female suits of power armor, Let loose with their own missile targets. The first of the two fires a volley of twelve of its mini missiles at Thirteen in revenge, Miriana readies herself to fire at the missile however there was no reason to target them as they fly past the group as they explode into the side of the vessel behind them. The second female power armor fires a volley of twelve at the greater threat Kchek, unable to dodge the missiles forcing him to roll to minimize the damage (160 MDC damage). The remaining two fighter pods in pursuit of Michelle open fire with the rotary cannons in an attempt to finish their target and while they do score hits, the damage is bare minimal. (20 MDC Damage)

“Dam it!”  Michelle says to know one but herself as her veritechs systems begin to short out with the newest hits. She stops singing to herself as she hears the sounds of the flute come over her radio. It brings back a memory from when she was still young on Eden before Max took her away; she was standing with a class of other students being lectured. She remembered seeing Dr. Ikari standing behind the speaker watch her and the others.

Cerise fires a volley of four mini missile at one of the Power Armor suits which could not get out of the way and to close to open fire with its own missile, causing it to explode as it failed to dodge the volley.  While Sillia opens up on the one Thirteen hit with his missiles seconds before. Which it dodges as it closes in on the group. However it was not able to dodge the second volley from Thirteen  causing the severely damaged suit to explode with the impact.

After correcting her course she is forced to decide her next target, seeing Michelle’s damage Reader decides to continue focusing on the remaining fighter pods firing another two medium range missile which quickly catches the fighter pod despite its evasive maneuvers, destroying it from behind.

With no further targets within range Banshee Squad heads back towards the mask under the power of Korvan’s mecha.  Leaving the others behind as Kaarle kicks in his afterburners to catch up with reader.

The three fighter pods again fire on Reader causing minor damage (70 MDC) as they fly past her. While the single fighter pod still pursuing Michelle opens fire upon her once again scoring a minor hit (10 MDC) to the already battered Alpha.

Michelle unable to dodge yet another hit prepares her mind for the inevitable, having given up on the idea of surviving her order. She listens to the beauty of the flute as she releases the controls of the alpha and let’s goes of the fear of failure. The thought of ejecting was out as she did not wish to die a slow death of asphyxiation instead choosing to die quickly from enemy fire. I am sorry Kaarle, I don’t think Ill be following your last orders.  She lets her mind remember her happiest thoughts. The day Max took her off Eden. Meeting Karma for the first time, being ordered to show her actual ID to her when they we made bunkmates. These thoughts made her smile as she prepared for her demise.

Banshee Squad listens to the radio as their friends and teammates fight in the depth of space no longer able to get a glimpse of their lights as Korvan continues to push them closer to their ride home. Despite the dangers, it is a beautiful sight to behold that few if any would likely ever see again.

Meanwhile Reader closes in on the final fighter pod on Michelle’s tail which was obviously in trouble. She can see that the Alpha was just holding on and her flight pattern straightened out instead of the jinking she had been doing. She fires two more medium ranges missiles at the third fighter pods however they fly past it and are lost to deep space for evermore.  Kaales catches up in and to notices the predicament of his pilot, however the other three were closing again on reader as they flipped and ready to fire. He fired another volley of eight missiles at the fighter pod lining up its shot on Batgirl, destroying it from behind. He takes a sigh of relief knowing she is now out of harm’s way if only for a moment.

Two of the three fighter pods   open up on Reader, the third fires upon Kaarle. The two fighter striking reader score a decent hits but the damage is minimal in comparison to what it could have been. (40 MDC) the one firing on Kaarle manages to only glance his Alpha.

Michelle loses track of time as the seconds pass listening to the music and focusing on the good memories.

Reader flips about and fires two more missiles straight into the oncoming fighter pods finding their mark head on, bringing the numbers down to two. Kaarle fires his last volley of 8 short range of missiles bringing the numbers to one. Which promptly opened fire on Reader scoring a vital hit to her alpha sending a backlash through her primary electrical system causing a small fire to her control console. She manages to squeeze off one more volley of missile before losing the computers and forcing her to react to the situation inside her cockpit. The two missiles find their mark ending the fight with the drones. A few seconds after Skyrah manages to get the fire out, the secondary systems kick in. The lasting effects will require intense work by the maintenance crew once aboard the Gambit. However the short term is waiting for the smoke to filter through the ventilation system and allow her full visibility once more.

Kaarle makes a mad dash with his mech over to Michelle's hoping that with all the systems failures taking place that at least life support was still working.   He brings his mech parallel to the vessel so that both cockpits are accoss from each other hoping for any signs of life.

He opens comms to reader while waiting on a response Michelle. [Language unknown: ardventho arri leis ce undce anhiwino ss to ain hero promentha? ]

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

Thirteen felt frustrated at the lack of control he had in this combat situation. He was limited to holding on and firing missiles. His enhanced senses allowed him to follow the chaos of the situation and to use his missiles to best effect. As the suit he was targeting exploded and the battlefield turned quiet Thirteen looked towards the damaged Alpha.

He tilted his head slightly to the right as he watched what was happening. That a life was in the balance was clear as was to whom that Alpha belonged. Thirteen re positioned himself to that he could access his right hand gauntlet and worked to restore radio communications in his suit.

As Kaarle fly's up to Michelle's Alpha he can see exposed internal mechanisms and massive sparks where the damage is bad. the canopy is severly crack and you have no doubt that if she was in an atmosphere, she would be hard pressed to keep it in the air.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

Her head laid back her eyes closed and the seconds tick by to minutes, the positive thoughts turn to the what the hell. Why are they playing with me. She opens her eyes to see the inverted veritech above her, or was that below.  she heard Kaarle's voice over the radio checking on Reader. Dam him, he broke his orders and saved her. She could not help smile at the thought that he risked his career to save her. But the truth, was the truth. She was retired and her orders were clear as day, she was not meant to return. As she stares at Kaarle through the canopy she sees the actual damage to the canopy, she did not take the controls back into her hands.

She tries her radio "Batgirl to Wraith squadron, Batgirl to Wraith squadron. can you hear me?"

She would then silence her com's, waiting for Kchek and Cerise to give the final orders.

With that he closed comes with the two of them and started a direct comm with Michelle.   he said to her as he continued to watch from his cockpit.  Even if the mech were combat worthy she was one hit away from being blown out through the cracking wind screen let alone surviving re-entry into the planets atmosphere.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

Michelle keeps looking at Kaarle, she realized that he was still trying to save her from command and putting himself at greater risk. She knew she would have to return and face the wrath of command in order to keep him safe. She speaks as seductively as she is able to as she tries to apply sexual humor to her statement;  she said playfully.  Then to make sure he knew she fully appreciated her situation, she added in a serious tone.

Reader would assume the position he commanded, frowning as they did not have time for this. Furthermore, Kchek lack of military protocol was starting to get to her. She filed the report to command that he should have, and then he reprimanded her for it. It was another notch against him she was going to file in her after action report. She would radio them both. [Language unknown: "Isil e pe io, ioro p firimo uraril. Ce est m ecse Ar ss ioin nti hoame hosa uswil il ol." ] Reader said softly, showing actual emotion for once.

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

[Language unknown: ica whe ntoladwh.   adfiac her ei om. ] He said curtly.  Kaarle had clearly not made much of an impression on reader but honestly he couldn't give two fucks.   He did what he sought out to do and that was get everyone back alive.   He still had concerns over integrity of the alpha but trusted their judgement.   He would sooner scuttle the vessel then leave it for alien scum to pick up, but if that wasn't necessary then all the better. His thoughts turned back to Michelle, he was genuinely feared for her safety, and the flirting just now had his head spinning.  "The commander string me up just for that reason alone" he chuckled to himself...

Finally letting himself relax he considered for a moment how this would all play out when he got back.   The reality was Doshi, the closest thing to a friend he had was dead.   Reader made it clear she couldn't stand him ever time she opened her damned mouth.   He wasn't sure what was worse the fact that she was arrogant as all hell or the fact that she was right ask the damn time.   It bothered him to think that if he managed to stay alive long enough that in fact some day she would be commanding him.   Shaking that thought away he tried not to let his pride get the better of him

Re: Operation Stealth Rescue

While hanging on to the Silverback, and after firing everything that she could, she began to listen to the combat as it was being played out, and going over a mental checklist of what she will do once she was able to get to her med bags, and begin assessing everybody's injuries from the latest battle.

With the thoughts running through her head, she barely noticed that she was humming to herself some old song ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OPc7MRm4Y8 ) she cant remember where she had heard it, but she thought it was funny and for somehow a little appropriate in her head.

Reader closed in with the rest of Wraith Squadron, then began to lead them back. In her mind it became evident that he cared more about the safety of Batgirl then the safety of the whole squadron. Especially when her own Delta was in critical shape. [Language unknown: "Tiosetous hita'maisil."] She said as she began to lead the others back. Making another note in her log.
