The Gambits Description

Bridge: The command hub of the Gambit, the bridge is restricted Access! Two securities guards clad in CBR-5 tactical body armor and armored with H-260 valiant assault laser rifles, guard this area. There is a pilot’s terminal, navigational terminal, communications terminal, sensory terminal, and two weapons terminals (which each terminal can control any or all the weapon systems aboard the) in addition to the Officer in Command’s terminal.
Captains Quarters: The Captains small room has his bed a large locker and closet at its foot. The Captain gets a private head fully equipped for all the needs. Opposite of the locker is a work desk and self unit built into the wall. The computer and hard wired phone are built into the desk.

Executive Officers Quarters: The EXO’s small room has his bed a large locker and closet at its foot. Like the Captain the EXO gets a private head fully equipped for all the needs. Opposite of the locker is a work desk and self unit built into the wall. The computer and hard wired phone are built into the desk.

Sickbay: The Gambits sickbay much like its science labs are state of the art. There are four exam rooms which also serve as surgical ERs. There are eight patient beds with all the necessary equipment to monitor their occupants. But unless the injuries require the patient to be monitored they are sent to their bunks to recover. There is a small work area for the nurses and doctors on staff.

Engineering: This is where the ship get hers power from. The fold drives and protoculture storage are all part of this section of the ship. All the secondary systems are also housed here.

Briefing Room: There are two briefing rooms on the Gambit A and B. Both are identical to the other. There is a podium wired into the wall video screen behind it. There are four rolls of five desks for taking notes on.

Flight Deck/Hanger: Here is where the Veritechs are housed, stored and repaired as needed. There are movable hoist and pulley systems that are used to work on the damaged Veritechs. Along with the compartments and space to store the equipment necessary to maintain their Veritechs. In fact given time parts and personnel the deck hands could rebuild a disassembled Veritech with the tools housed here.  There is also a small area set aside for the deck crew to store their personal equipment when not on duty. Two of the lockers have a brewing still inside.

Horizon Shuttle Hanger deck: Here is where the Gambit’s Horizon Shuttle is housed when not in use. It has its own maintenance crew and tools to maintain their shuttle. There is an entry to the Mecha storage bay here so the Mecha can be loaded quickly for deployment.

Officers Quarters: Officers have a little more private quarters then the enlisted, their quarters are shared with another officer close to their own rank. Their bunks are stacked one on top of the other with a dark curtain for privacy. Each bunk has a small 20” flat screen TV at the foot of the bed and a small shelf that they can put their stuff on including a small lockable drawer between the two bunks. The small room has a small a small desk with a light and their personal lockers on the other side of the four foot aisle space.

Crews quarters: The unisex crew quarters are six bunks to a compartment. The Bunks are stack two high with dark privacy curtains. With four lined up on one wall head to foot and the six personal lockers near the entrance with the other two bunks on the opposite wall. Each bunk has a small 20” flat screen TV at the foot of the bed and a small shelf that they can put their stuff on including a small lockable compartment to store the small valuables.  There is a small writing desk at the far end of the four foot isle. With the exception of their bunks there is no privacy here.

Couples Quarters: These quarters are reserved for married couples. The room is 12X10 feet leaving no room for Children which are not allowed to live on the Gambit. There is a full size bed against the far wall with a closet the size of four duty lockers. The bed can fold up into a couch when not locked into the bed position. A flat panel TV is several feet from the door mid way up the wall. there is a small counter with miniature sink with hot and cold water. with several plugins, a small refrigerator sits under the counter to allow the couple some minor luxuries.

Common Room: this is where the soldier come to relax. Various unit patches are on the walls. With limited space aboard the Gambit everyone has to share this space. Two couches sit in front of the large screen panel on the wall to watch movies. Three tables with chairs sit behind them for playing cards or other games.  This place usually has informal promotion ceremonies and award presentations followed by unit parties.

Science Labs: The Gambits research and science laps are state of the art. Though not as spacious as the larger ships in the UEEF fleet there is nothing left for wanting within for these work stations.
  Lab Zero Zero: This is a classified Lab work area which requires proper clearance to enter. Upon entering one will see, a brightly lit room with twelve Mecha synchro tubes lining three walls opposite of a door, multiple retractable tables can rise and descend from the floor. there are four observations mirrored windows on the walls about twelve feet up.
  Observation Room Zero One: This room require proper authorization to enter; A two way mirror looks down into lab zero zero, opposite of the entry. There are twelve monitors on the right wall which shows the occupants in the Mecha Synchro Tubes.

Post Exchange; PX: Here members can perchance personal and recreational items. There is not much room and it is little better then a small bedroom. Not much changes on the shelves when traveling though space though. Usually, the PX’s will get together and trade goods when two or more Earth-operated ships can dock together. Gym: The Gambits gym is in fairly good shape, it has two treadmills a stair masters machine and a small Varity of weight machines which allows the troops aboard the Gambit to work out. As well as small selection of free weights, jump ropes and handful of rubber mats and the exercise ball. The walls are line with mirrors.

Brig/security office: The ships master at arms office as well as the Gambits security forces lockers are located across the hall from the four detention cells. Each cell eight by eight can hold two persons in their small bunks.

Mess Hall: This is a basic mess hall. There are six round tables for eight opposite of the chow line. There are soda fountain drinks as well as a wide Varity of juices and teas. Salad and two different soups are offered with the afternoon and evening meals. The mess hall is open for the third shifts lunch after that they shut down and clean up till the morning shift only to begin another day.

Armory: This is where the ships small arms and explosives are stored. There is always somebody from security standing guard in full gear, CBR-5 tactical body armor and shield.

Cargo Bay:

Mecha Hanger with connections to both the shuttle and Veritech hanger with elevators and hulls, there is work stations for the maintance crew and tools to maintain their charges.

Officers Lounge: its small dimly lit, room six tables and four booths a couple of pool tables in the back. You have to present your Military Ids to be in here, which informs them if your on duty the following day or not. If you have duty you are cut off after you third drink. All tabs are settled electronically and deducted automatically from your credits.

Enlisted Lounge: Like the Officers lounge this is a small section which almost appears to be an after thought. it has 10 booths lining the walls and six stools lining the bar. There are several dart boards, pool tables and even a couple electronic video arcade games (from the 80s, Pacman, Frogger and Donkey Kong.) While here the Enlist are not required to salute or even address anyone (minus command officers) by rank. this is a place for them to relax and be themselves. And is a popular location for the troops.
  When they enter they present the bartender with their id's, and if they have duty the following day, they have a three alcohol drink limit. But they are free to have other beverages. (no food) Credits are deducted automatically.

Mirage wastes no time moving into BOQ (Bachelor Officer's Quarters) room 126.  She also wastes little time cleaning up.  She washes efficiently, and settles in quickly.  She appears to have few personal items, but does have civvies to change to.

By the time she changes to Capris and a light blouse that complement her purple hair (subdued color palette), Reader probably has not arrived yet.  (OOC:  Though it is up to the player when she arrives!)

Mirage is a tidy person, and also relatively small.  The kind of habits that work well when sharing a room.

GM note: A bunks are Buttom bunks B are the top. I have already assigned them to everyone. I also added enlisted and officers lounges. Officers may go to the enlisted. But with the exception of Command staff, they will be considered one of the guys/gals here as this is a place for troops to unwind and be free of their military duties for a short bit. But as it is considered a nice gesture for an officer to buy his/her troops a round they are allowed to visit.

OOC: I believe Severian is sharing Cerise's quarters.

he was but I was kind enough to give Cerise the Private room as she is the vulture team commander and also requires intense lights to stay healthy. But yes he was.

 @ Silas -  The master at arms escorts the newest member of Wraith Squadron to the brig. "Mind if i ask why you did all that, Sir? Was it worth getting thrown in the brig?"
  He personally escort you into the holding cell.

OOC: Oh, I see; I thought he was totally left off the list. Now I see him! Yes! now Cerise can have the lights set to 110% all the time again! ;)

As soon as she's back aboard the Gambit, Cerise sends an electronic message to Skyrah: I've primed the Vulture crew and Banshee to come meet with Wraith after everyone has had a chance to clean up. If you have any activities planned, that would be a great time to enact them. I'll also let Lt. Cherkovski know that he should give Wraith the same message.

She also sends a message to Kaarle: I've primed the Vulture crew and Banshee to come meet with Wraith after everyone has had a chance to clean up. Please have Wraith attend as well, to give Lt Valentine a chance to perform her morale duties!

With both of those written, Cerise heads straight to Lt Fell. Since the order was to speak with her immediately, Cerise figures she should do so prior to attempting to clean up and get out of battle dress.

As Silas is escorted to the brig, he answer's the master at arms question I did it to see how far I could push everybody and to see how tight of a unit, I am all for taking risks, and expected to be punished for my actions, however, the reactions that I received may have been appropriate, I was not expecting them to be given so incredibly swiftly.

 Upon entering the 8 by 8 cell, he sits down and stairs at the wall, waits for the next actions to begin.

Giggling and chatting with Sophie felt fun especially once they had gotten off the deck. she answers Sophie's every question. most with excitement, a few with embarrassment and a couple of outright shamefulness which she did not want to give an answer. but she had never hidden anything from Sophie in her five years of knowing her.

  In her office she takes a seat which was offered. She continued to answer questions until she started to feel fuzzy and the world seemed so distance. Then the emptiness and quietness of thoughtlessness.

When Kaarle enters LCDR Fell's offices he sees Michelle staring straight ahead as if she was hypnotized.

  She greets the young officer and invites him into the office. Her look is not pleasant. Neither is it harsh. It was obvious she was not happy from what had happen in the hanger.

@MIRAGE
It was weird, while Skyrah herself was not present, all of her belongings were. Several sketch books were placed on one of the shelves, as was a set colored pencils that appeared to be expensive.

@GARGOYLE
Skyrah would make her way to the hanger, pausing at the door. On the planet she had always played her flute while on Albatross shoulder, but now LCDR Fell was angry with them and ordered them out. She actually frowned at the thought of it, because it was a bit more private there. Her hand would brush along her satchel down to the wooden case strapped to it.

@ Skyrah - You find your Veritech sitting in its storage slot, in fighter mode, there is no room for it to transform, and you are not authorized in moving it from there. there is enough room for you to climb up but, and sit on it. with just enough headroom. but you would not be able to stand straight up.

In reply to Gargoyle (msg # 10):

Once inside the office he was surprised to see Michelle in the state that she was in.  He was concerned about what was going on but decided to keep tight-lipped about it since he wasn't sure exactly how bad this meeting was going to be considering what happened in the hangar earlier than the evening.

He saluted her and stood there at attention waiting for some kind of response he wanted to take a Michelle  and get out of there they had stuff to do and he was looking forward to an evening with her if at all possible.

Mirage pulls out the tablet and checks on the time and uniform for the upcoming gathering, as she settles into her new berthing. She has a few pictures she puts up, including one of an apparently pre teen Mirage at the controls of an aircraft.

Skyrah will make her way over to Albatross, frowning softly. She'd climb up onto the Veritech, and crawl over it to sit behind the cockpit between the thruster/missile pods. Since it was in fighter mode she felt it was a good private spot to play, especially with her current mood. She was, sad again, upset, and as she pulled out her flute and began to play the tune that echoed forth demonstrated that. Even though it was hauntingly beautiful, it was also sad.

Thirteen arrives back from their training and, after removing his armour and being dismissed, he heads straight for the gym. He has some aggression to work out of his system.

Upon her arrival, Miriana wasted little time in making a beeline for her bunk, and preparing to get some much needed sleep. She didn't know how long it would be until they would get called up again, but she wanted to make the most out of whatever time she had available to her.

@ Mirage - you have a couple hours before your night out for drinks. As you set up your share of the room.

@ Silas - your currently sitting in the brig. You have access to water.

@ Skyrah - you feel like someone is watching you. But it’s hard to tell as the storage area is only dimly lit.

@ Miriana – when you get your quarters you notice that your bunk mates stuff is gone and replaced by Severian’s personal possessions.

@ Thirteen – you lucked out. The gym is emptied. And you have a chance to be alone. For about thirty minutes. When a marine walks in and starts working the bags. He watches you for a couple minutes; “You’re a bit young to be on here aren’t you?"

@ Kaarle – she tells you to at ease. You can see the frustration in her face as she starts to verbalize her thought and then stops before her words come out. “I wanted to just deal with your two’s relationship , but I need to address what happen today. First, Congratulations for beating the Warlocks, I am not a pilot so I do not know the ends and outs, but your team did their jobs and it worked.  But from that moment on, it was completely downhill".

  You can tell from her attitude the next bit is more rhetorical; “What am I supposed to do with your squad. I am beginning to think your squad cannot work cohesively. Your reaction to Lt. Nightshades behavior was out of was out of line, which leads me to believe you let your feelings for Michelle caused it, since you let two officer argue infront of everyone present. Kaarle, we are in the depths of space, with a inch of steel between us and instant death. And you allowed your reactions to show the enlisted that our elite officers have no order or discipline. What do you think that does to a crew? You’re in command of your squad. Act like it. According to her you have it in you to take control of the situation.” Her facial expression is suddenly stern; “So take control of your squadron or I’ll disband the unit. I’ll transfer each of you across this fleet to secondary pilots that will be lucky to get simulator time.” She give you a minute to let that sink in. Lt. Nightshade is part of your unit. While I will chat with him myself, your action were no better Kaarle, he is part of your squadron and you will overcome your issues and get your squadron under control. Wraith Squadron is grounded for a week. Your team will not touch or even go near a veritech. If I find any of your team near one, they will never pilot again. Your team can report to the kitchen for third shift for the next week. The chef of the night will tell you what to have your squad do. This is the last chance Lieutenant.”

  Michelle continues to just stare forward.

 She stretches her neck and takes a deep breath, her voice softens. "Your relationship with Michelle has not broken any UEEF rules. I know the commander has already talked to you about everything and I do not need to cover it again. I am glad she is happy with you Kaarle, she is like my kid sister and listening to her open up with me on our way her was amazing.  You two will go straight to the infirmary as instructed and she is not allowed to fight this.” With that she stands up goes over to Michelle. “You have done really god today.”  She says as she touches her shoulder and leans in an whispers into her ear.

@ - Cerise you are informed that Wraith Squadron is currently busy and your messages will be passed on. When you arrive to LCDR Fell office you are greeted and she informs you that you just missed Kaarle and Michelle. Once you are both seated she slides a box to you. “You’re here by promoted to first lieutenant. Your veritech team is currently grounded for the next week they are on KP duty. I’ll let you inquire with your Lieutenant, Wraith Squadron will be in the officer lounge in a bit for a victory party with the Warlocks. You should meet him there.”

  Michelle looks at LCDR Fell; "Are we done now Ma'am?"

  When she notices Kaarle she smiles; "Hello Sir." She looks back and forth at the two and knew rightfully she had missed something. She stands up and awaits for orders hoping to get out of the tense situation as fast as possible. She reaches for Kaales hand and step in close to him. She whispers "Are we free to go?"

Before she can take Michelle out of her current state he steps between them...

"No" he says to her flatly.

"You want me to take control then here it is...I'll not jeopardize my squad's safety by having him on my team." He says in complete defiance or her orders.

"Additionally your punishment of those girls is completely out of line considering he assaulted all three of them,  and anything they did to protect themselves today was justified considering his actions" he said irritated by her casual acceptance of the recruits bullshit.

"You saw first hand that our team can work together, and do it well,  and now you threaten to quote un-quote retire us over this nonsense?  You and I both know what splitting this squad well likely mean for Michelle and Skyrah... " He said digging his hole even deeper.

"Throw me in the brig for defending myself, hell court martial me if it makes things any better,  but they shouldn't have to fear for their own safety because he can't control himself.  Your right I am responsible for my team,  I'll take their punishment and more but they have already been through enough" He said waiting for whatever retribution she threw at him.

"Thank you, ma'am." Cerise opens the box and replaces her rank insignia with the new one, placing the old into the box. She slides the box back to LCDR Fell. "I'll head there as soon as I change out of this working uniform into my service dress. Thank you again, ma'am, and please pass my thanks on to the commander as well.

Was there anything else we needed to discuss, ma'am?"

@ Cerise - "I will", she say with a smile.

@ Kaarle - A large burly man in full black combat gear steps into the room. She looks directly are you. "he is not a option, Lieutenant!" she steps behind her desk and the man steps to be right behind you.
 "All the stupid kids was grab the girls hands and gave them a twirl!" she look at Michelle. "She giggled, nervously but she did not resort to hitting a fellow officer. Something you and Lt. Valentine considered to be acceptable."

  you see her debating something in her head, then she nods and the guy behind you place his powerful hand on your shoulder and she pulls a sidearm out from under the desk putting it to Michelle's head, just above the bridge of her nose. "Do you still want to be court-martialed? Your all that stands between you life and death since you broke her your last mission Kaarle." the mans hand is firm making sure you understand your not moving.

  She is looking at you with an intensity and you realize she is prepared to do it; "Say it Kaarle, you want me to court martial you and I will let everyone go on about their day as if nothing happened. But her, Ill carry out high commands orders. the very orders the Commander refused to enforce because of your choices Kaarle!"

Thirteen grabs dumbbells that seem way too heavy for a child his age. He takes them and begins doing bicep curls into overhead presses with relative ease.

"Yeah. I am entirely too young to be here." He replies.

@ Gargoyle

After a few moments Skyrah would stop playing, and give a gentle sigh, laying the glass flute in her lap. "Hello, I can tell someone is there." She said quietly, but just loud enough so that whoever was there could hear her.

Kaarle's shoulders slump and he closes eyes.  Once again in as many days he failed to protect anyone...

"Your no better then the Invid" he spat back at her his face filed with anger and fear.   "No ill not sign her death warrant, no matter how many times you try to wash your hands of this and make this my decision" he said to the bitch bitterly

 She looks at him and feels sorry for this lesson. She hated it. She pulls the trigger.... Click..... "No Kaarle." she says as she tosses the gun on her desk, where you can see there is no clip in it. "I am your commanding officer, And I am tired of your constantly questioning of orders." she places her forehead to Michelles for a moment closing her eyes. "Your making me demonstrate what is really happening here. You are the one who disobey high commands orders and you chose to save her. Our command had to pay a price for your choice. You made that choice." she kisses the top of Michelle's head and turns back around nodding to the soldiers. who releases you and leaves the room. "I am tired of the continued disrespect of the chain of command from you and your squad. Understand what i showed you. That young woman's life depends on you and your actions." She leans on the edge of her desk. "Please Kaarle, stop fighting with us. we are not your enemy here." she shakes her head. "Dam it Kaarle, I want you two to be happy. Why can you not see that?"

Miriana looked at the items that signaled she had a new bunkmate, sighed, and shook her head. No matter, she'd find out whose things it was when she'd wake up again. She also made a mental note to ask Cerise about this latest shuffle and, more importantly, the impact it was having on efficiency to have half the crew move their things every other mission.

@ Skyrah - As you scan the area, you see Nick step out of the shadow and steps in front of your veritechs nose. "Sorry if I startled you. Its my watch and when I heard you play I thought I would listen."

@ Thirteen - He nods as you life the weights. "Nice set kid. I do not see you here before. You one of those black op kids on board?"

@ Miriana - you are able to go right to sleep.

"Thanks." Thirteen said simply as he continued to work. "I guess you could say that." Considering his age it was impossible to hide the fact so he took it in stride.

He screams out in shock that she would really pull the trigger..."NO!!!" As he falls to his knees.  The realization that nothing happened quickly dawned on him as he lifted his head tears streaming down his face.

He tried to compose himself as he climbed to his feet.  He was broken,  he didn't know what to say or do...all he wanted was to do was protect her...

@ Mirage - You hear a tap on the door. When you open it you see Joker standing there, he is in his black duty uniform. "Hey Delta, I thought you might like to go get some food before drinks tonight? or are you busy?" You notice he gives you the once over as he gives you a De veneer smile.

@ Thirteen - The guy laughs and goes back hitting the bags.

@ Gargoyle

By this point Mirage had taken a nap and had things the way she wanted them.  She smiled to Joker.

"Sure Joker, let me slip on my jacket."

She slips it on, taking a moment to check her ribbons, then turns to Joker to leave.

"Thanks for getting me.  I feel pretty damn isolated in this unit."

   LCDR Fell hated herself as she saw him hit the floor. "Kaarle, She is the one who will suffer if you cannot keep your squadron in check. If Wraith Squadron is disbanded she will likely be executed." she reaches down and takes his face into her hands. "You need to understand High Command sees her as flawed and needs to be terminated. I cannot tell you what the Commander or Dr. Ikari did to get her administrative punishment." You can see the sadness in her eyes. "Please lieutenant stop disobeying orders." She then stands "I will allow you and your team to continue flying and no KP duty. But you will give the new pilot a chance and if he fails, Ill remove him myself." With that she releases Michelle from her trance whispering into her ear.

  She smiles at Sophie until she hears Kaarle. She nearly dive at the floor as she grabs him. "Are you okay Sir?" She looks at Sophie, "what did you do to him? You told me you liked him."

"Oh...um...hi." She said, a bit of a tint showing on her face. "You did not startle me." Then she managed to smile a bit. "....sometimes I wish I could be startled, I really never have been that I can recall." She said, scratching her head as she thought about that.

Then she got a look on her face, it was one of slight terror. "Please don't tell anyone I was here! LCDR Fell kicked us all out of here and told us not to come back! She'll punish me!"

@ Cerise - Disregard your pilots being grounded.

 @ Mirage - He gestures for you to grab your jacket. But when you go to put it on, he steps in and helps you put it on, Like a gentleman of old. "You up for dinner in the lounge?" he then walks with you to the lounge and tells the bartender to bring menu's

  now that you two are sitting, he address's your units distance; "Try not to take it so personally. They have been through a lot. Their first mission out, they lost half the squadron in one fail swoop. The remaining members have grown protective of each other. On their last mission out. Lt. Grey lost it and was ordered retired. Meaning that High Command ordered her death." he orders a steak medium rare with baked potato with the works. He waits for you to order and the waiter to leave before he continues. "She is the Commanders adopted daughter. Kaarle and Skyrah disobeyed orders and they flew in to rescue her. I heard Kaarle had to punish her to punish him. Rumors fly here. Don't repeat them to the wrong person. So give them a chance, they're just young and need a little time to get to know you and your new pilot." He laughs at the thought of what he had heard about the incident on the flight deck. "I heard he twirled Michelle and tried to twirl the rest of the squadron before it broke out to a fight."

He let's her help him to his feet,  compowing himself and wiping the tears away.

"It's okay Michelle, I'm alright" he said to her as he tried to reassure her and himself at this point

"if there's nothing else ma'am I'd like to take Michelle and go get things situated before dinner tonight, wraith Squadron will do its best not to disappoint you again in the future sorry for the inconvenience" he said to her in a defeated tone he wasn't sure how he was going to accomplish this but it was clear to him there was going to have to be a come-to-jesus moment with him and the rest of his Squadron if he had any hopes of keeping anyone alive after everything that's happened so far

  @ Kaarle and Michelle - "Michelle wait outside for a minute Kaarle will be right there. Once she and the two guards are outside. "Kaarle, I am sorry, I just needed you to understand what you have to losse, what we all have to lose, if high command does not see positive results. We are trying to prevent that. I swear I am doing everything I can to make this happen. I did not like doing that, I just needed you to understand." she looks down and her voice breaks as she dismisses you.

He nodded to her, there wasn't anything really to say at that point so with his dismissal he stepped outside of her office.  He saw Michelle and the two guards and motioned for her follow him.

He gave her a gentle smile and led her down the corridor as they made their way to the Infirmary...

  @ Silas - A guard comes in and tells you to follow him. He takes you to Lt. Fells office.

  When you enter you see her put a make-up. "Sit lieutenant Nightshade." Once you are seated. "Your preformance on the flight deak has caused a lot of tension with your unit. They do not want to fly with you. And to be honest I thought about it. But they need a pilot and your available and your record were flawless until today." Her look of anger is clear on her face. "Your an officer Lieutenant, and I expect you to act like it. this is the only warning you get. Make a round and apologize and earn the squads respect. or Ill take your flight status away from you and lose you on some distant outpost. Do you understand me soldier?"

  Her big smile and excitement as her jump to it with your Kaarles signal.  She takes your left hand in to her right. giving a light excited squeeze. "We can be together, Sir. Sophie made me take a stupid pill, but she said It was okay for us to be together and I can remain your wing-mate, like Maia Steling's parents."

  However when you get closer to the Infirmary, you feel her begin to shake, till its almost as violent as cell phone vibrations set on silent. She less then twenty feet aways her slowing steps finally stops and you can hear her sobbing. "Please Sir. please.... I'm scared."

He gives her hand a squeeze as they arrive.

"This won't take long and I'm right here to make sure everything is alright. Having a future together means taking precautions..."  he says to her as they stand there waiting to be helped.

her steps are short but she follows you in offering no future resistances.

  Once the medics are done she follows you out the door as fast as you and her feet let her go.

  Once you two get back to your quarters she is happy once more. She gets ready for diner and drinks.

"Both...I guess." She said, answering his question a bit nervously. Then she nodded when he said he'd be back. "Ok...I'll stay here. I want to draw some."

@ Skyrah - About ten minutes later Nick returns; "May I join you up there? or are you wanting to escape into a solitary place?"

@ Gargoyle

She accepts the civil help with her coat, and chuckles.

"An officer AND a gentlemen, Joker.  I am impressed."

She nods and smiles.

"Certainly, may be my last chance for a while."

She looks slightly surprised.

"Ordered her death?  That's.. extreme?"  She matches his order, though she orders her steak a bit more done at medium.  A little curious for a Zent Clone.
She looks perplexed.  "Michelle is an excellent pilot, from what I have seen..."

She sighs.  "I'm not a.. twirler.  I expect to be treated with respect.  The commander seems fairly tight... there is one though..."  She takes a sip of her drink and shakes her head.  "I understand pride."

Agreeing with Sillia on letting Thirteen having his space, and aravae needing to find something to do, he says "Sure"  he winks back at her and says  [Language unknown: T ouuspe laree ersconted, p Ekplpr.]

Kaarle follows her lead getting cleaned up and ready for the evening.  Once everything was squared away he took her by the hand led her out of the quarters.   It was past normal dinner at this point having lost track of the time but that was okay.  There were other plans. He was annoyed that the guards were still hanging around but tried to ignore their presence.   This was Michelle's night after all.

"We'll need to stop and talk to the cooks for a minute about dinner preparations" he said as they made their way to the officers lounge.  They stopped by the kitchen along the way to speak with the cooks briefly.  When one had finally noticed them he spoke to them respectfully.

"Excuse me but the commander said to stop by with our orders for this evenings dinner with him at 20:00.  Any recommendations?" He said not really sure what he wanted.  He'd eastern only mess hall food for far too long...

She paused for a moment, then leaned over enough so she could see him better. "My music is my solitary place, my drawing, in most cases is my diary. You can come up." She then sits up, and he can hear some shifting and scooting about as she seemingly makes room.

  Sillia gives a little chuckle at Xavier last commit. "We shall see love!"

  @ Mirage - He looks at her, she was not what he expected in a Zentraedi warrior. "She is a great pilot. unconfirmed rumors have it she held 10 of the fighter pods off alone while the others were safely away. Her plane almost did not make it back." his look told her it was not uncomfirmed. "lucky for her the others got there in time. I heard them say another shot would have cripped her veritech and that would have finished her for your."
   "Yea the kids on this ship have been training since they could move to be the perfect soldier. When they upset high command they are terminated. Its best not to discuss it to loudly. As its the Gambits and NERV's little dirty secret."

  He gives a slight chuckle as he thought of the stories he heard of the encounter; "Your not a twirler or your not into having some stranger grab at you and try to spin you? I agree everyone needs to be treated with respect" again he chuckles. Yea Kaarle is very tense. But I think he is flying against a ghost right now. its his first command from what I have heard." he nods with the last one.

  His eyes narrowed a bit flirting with you as he leaned forward some as to keep anyone else from listening. "I like your squad mates, but I'd like to learn more about you, where are you from?"

  @ Skyrah - Nick climbs up ducking down so as not to hit his head. He sits across from you. "what are you working on? How would you like me to address you?" you see on his own collar he is wearing the bars for a third lieutenant. "How long have you been a pilot?"

She slowly nods to the new information as she waits on her foot, she is her normal composed self, seemingly on top of things.

"That whole situation is so bizarre.  I didn't know what to think, I am not a doll, though, and I won't be treated like one."

She smirks a moment.

"Yack, Deculture."

As he leans in, she holds her ground, she has been sitting up straight with her hands in her lap when not otherwise occupied, her right ear twitches once.

"Eden..."  She does not elaborate, and seems to be mulling over things before saying more.</purple>

Silas looks up as the door to his cell is opened, he gets up and walks behind the guard that leads him to LCDR Fell's office.

Once inside LCDR Fell's office and is told to sit he politely says "Ma'am, I prefer to stand Ma'am." hoping his simple request to stand will not make her any angrier then she already is.

Yes, Ma'am, I understand Ma'am, he tries not to flinch when he sees the anger on her face. Yes Ma'am, I will apologize to the squad for my behavior. Ma'am.

He looks apologetically towards LCDR Fell and before she could dismiss him he says Ma'am, I would like to apologize to you first, I know that the conduct of my behavior was not the greatest, and would like to state that when I meet new people, I always put on a little bit of show, however I did not expect for things to go so far, so fast. Please forgive my behavior. I will not do it again.

After being dismissed from LCDR Fell's office, he looks up his room assignment, makes his way there, he stops at each of the officers quarters and knocks on their doors.

The first Door he comes to is Lt.Valentine and Lt.Fallyna he knocked gently, loud enough for anybody inside to hear, but not so loud as to startle them.

When Lt.Fallyna answered the door, he spoke quickly for the fear of getting the door shut in his face. Ma'am, I am here to apologize to you and Lt. Valentine. is she here with you too? When he sees that she no-longer looks like she will slam the door in his face he continues to give his apology to her.Ma'am, I would like to apologize to you, I know that the conduct of my behavior was not the greatest, and I did not expect for things to go so far, so fast. Please forgive me of my behavior.

He was just about to knock on Lt.Grey and Lt.Cherkovski's door, when he thought he had heard them in a conversation and feeling that it was too soon to apologize just yet, he decided to wait till a more appropriate time.


He gets to his quarters, he doesn't see karma, but he does see her stuff in boxes on her bunk, he quickly settles his stuff, takes a quick shower, changes and heads to find the rest of the squad so that he can apologize to them for his behavior.

OOC:  Assuming he caught Mirage before she headed out for dinner.

She answers, she is in dress uniform, B's.  Her coat hanging up in sight.

"The name is Mirage.  Mirage Fallyna.  Callsign Delta.  I will expect better from you.  I will see you at the party, please excuse me, I need to finish getting ready."

She's firm, and will not continue the conversation further, closing the door again.

@ Silas - When you approach Lieutenants Cherkovski and Greys, your stopped by to fully combat ready black ops guards. "Sorry Sir. These quarters off limits to anyone not clear to visit."


  @ Mirage - as soon as he sees your ear twitch. he straightens up. "Sorry. I do not mean to be intimidating to you." Pointing to your ear; "Does it twitch when your angry, nervous or excited? Combination of the three?" He does not lack confidence.

  He nods "Eden, I was stationed there before I was brought here. I guarded the Commanders Shuttle hanger, while training our youngest pilots."

@ GARGOYLE

She turned her sketchbook around so that he could see it. "It's a picture of Albatross. How I want him to be painted. Eventually." It was a drawing of her Delta, the coloring of that of a Earth bird, the Albatross. "I read that in the days of wind navies on Earth, there is a bird called the Albatross that is said to bring the sailors of the ship it followed good luck. If they brought it harm though, it would instead bring them bad luck." She explained. Which explained a bit about her own luck and the luck she brought to others. "All of them I've seen pictures of have the white body, some have all dark wings, but others have wings that go from white near the body and center of the wing to dark at the edge of the wings. And I saw one that even had a yellowish neck and head." She would show him a couple other idea's.

"We're the same rank, and alone. I...guess you can call me Skyrah. Most people call me Reader though." She said quietly, leaving the choice completely up to him. "I been training to be a pilot since I could walk. So I guess you could say, I been one since I could remember." She managed a small chuckle at that thought, then gave a small sigh. "What made you want to work on our Veritechs? Or...I mean...be a mechanic." She asked a bit nervously.

She blinks at him, starts a hand to her ears, then stops.  "My ears don't..."  Her eyes narrow at him, then she shrugs.  "Gah.  I don't know.  Mercia thought it was cute, and.. that was probably from me thinking too hard."  She sits a little looser, more relaxed.

"I grew up there.  Eden.  Born, raised, trained.  More or less.  It's home."

@ Skyrah - he returned her smile. "When alone, I call you Skyrah. Its pretty and sounds pleasant. But When others are around Ill use your call sign." He listens to her story of the bird that brought luck to the fleet. Making a mental not of all the small details of the pictures. "Well I have always trying to figure out how things worked. I have several degrees in engineering, electrical and Starship designs. But truthfully Veritechs bring more of a challenge to life. Like being a doctor, I save the lives of the veritechs and their pilots." he smiled with a twinkle in his eye as he thought of the mechanics of it. "I love it truthfully, especially when a pilot sees the work we have done."

Thirteen returned to his exercise routine disregarding the amusement of the man. Each exercise was almost like an attack as he pushed himself as far as he could go. He knew that the exercise would only have a limited impact on how he looked externally but internally it would help, but physically and mentally.

  Michelle was excited and showered quickly, she smiled at the guards as they followed her about. She swaggered teasing them a bit as she walked back in nothing but her bathrobe.

  She smiled at Kaarle thinking she needed to go shopping on the Marcus as soon as she could. She needed civilian clothing. But for tonight she would be a fantasy every creepy old man enjoyed. She pulled out her plaid skirt that was half way up her thigh. the white button up shirt hid the Corset underneath. the knee highs white socks and polished black shoes. She applied her eyeliner to the points and red lipstick. she topped it off when she put a silver heart shape choker on fastening the leather straps in the back. She smiled at Kaale and spun around a little faster each time until she saw him smile.  "You like?"

  She loved holding his hand as they walked. she did not even care about the two boys following them. "Yes Sir." she replied to his directions. when they got to the chef. She smiles and gave him a hug. "Hi, I'd like the chicken four cheese pasta mashed potatoes with lots of extras. and A chocolate cake please. can you make chocolate cake for everyone tonight" she batted her eyes.

 she stood by Kaarle side taking his hand once more, as the cook gave his suggestions.

She managed a smile, which on her looked beautiful, and much better than her normal emotionless demeanor he normally sees. "Father told me what my name means one day, both first and last. Skyrah means eternal life, strength, love and beauty. Valentine means strong, vigorous, healthy." She kinda chuckled at that a bit. "Think my parents were making a statement?" She said managing a smirk.

"The only thing I like as much as music, or drawing, is flying. I feel free when I do it." Then she showed him another picture, one she drew of her hang gliding. "This is what I want to do, through a big canyon I heard was called the Grand Canyon. I heard it was wide enough and people used to do it all the time before the wars. I want to be the first one to do it, once we retake the earth." Then she looked at the picture again. "The books I've read about it in, say people said that when you are hang gliding you feel like you are as free as a bird because you are gliding through the sky with the wind hitting you in the face."

  @ Thirteen - Another hour passes and the Marine walks over to you. "You any good in hand to hand combat kid? It be fun to do some kata's and drills with someone besides the air."

  @ Skyrah - He smiled at the meaning of her name. And she glowed when she smiled. "Well your parents were right about your beauty. You should smile more Skyrah." He looked at the hang glider. It did not look to complicated mechanically. "I think that would be fun." he replied to her desire to fly the canyon. He had a hard time not staring.

Kaarle was more then a little impressed with Michelle's outfit.  He smiled broadly as he stood there in his own jeans, form fitting white tshirt and black leather jacket.  It was literally like they had just gotten out of classes for the day and were ready to paint the town red. "Yes" he said still smiling. 

After Michelle had placed her order and he listened to suggestions he decided on what he wanted.

"I'd like a steak mid rare,  garlic mashed potatoes with butter, and whatever fresh steamed vegetables are available" he said.   He considered for a moment as well before adding. "I'll have some cake to for dessert as well" he said looking over to Michelle so happy she was enjoying herself.

"Now then,  we have some free drinks coming to us I think" he said with a grin as he led her off to the officers lounge.

OOC: wanted to wait until Kaarle was done with Fell, since that occurred before Cerise arrived there. :) now we should be just about in sync.

Once she's done with Fell, Cerise heads to her quarters. There she turns on all the lights, including her extra fixtures, to maximum, disrobes, wipes herself down to get any grime off from the days activities, and changes into her service dress uniform. Spirits a bit uplifted from the nourishment, and feeling much more presentable, Cerise turns the lights back off and steps out. She uses the ship's internal communications to contact Kaarle; "Lt Cherkovski, apparently I need to meet up with you to discuss something that occurred during Wraith's training? Are you available?"

Thirteen takes a towel and wipes the sweat from his forehead as the Marine comes over to him.

"I have been told my skills are tolerable. Do you want to spar now?

@ Kaarle - "Yes sir. Chocolate cakes for all." he say with a smile.


 @ Thirteen - The Marine laughs audibly; "Kid, if your on this ship. your skills are not tolerable. But I figure you size will help me get better at fighting smaller races we may encounter."  Gives you a more through look over. "How about we do so combat drills and work our way up into sparing."

 The drills are retinue for any trained in Commando school. but twenty minutes of this and the two of you are fully sparring. with the mandatory gloves and mouth peaces. While not trying to hurt each other you both land some pretty good blows upon each other. you duck or parry a strike and kick or punch when you think you have an opening forcing him to parry or dodge. and starting the process of setting the other up for the next barrage of blows.

  Twenty minutes into it you hear a soft clapping sound and a soft familiar voice cheering for you.
  The Marine steps up the pace forcing you two to work for even harder to get any blows in. finally he concedes. "Your amazing for someone your size and your stamina is better then any of my men." he points over to Aravae who is standing there patiently watching. "I need to get me a cheerleader." He gives a smile. "anytime you want to workout kid. Sgt. Wilks" he says as he extends his hand.  with a quick greeting as he passes Aravae, he heads to the showers.

  She giggles a little at the chefs reaction to the chocolate cake order. but she put on a small pout as she replied to Kaarle statement. "Yea we only have an hour." but she smiles as she gives his hand a quick squeeze happy to be holding it.

  @ Mirage -  His smile widens as she catches herself grabbing for her ear and then her finally relaxing. "Well I think its cute. I am sure most the men here do as well."

  Well I loved my time on the Eden. It beats being stuck inside a metal hull all the time. "But I will be honest, I do love flying over a new world and seeing it for the first time in all its glory. Before anyone set foot on it."
  While you can still see the slight flirtatious gestures as the dinner goes on. He keeps them light and non aggressive so you do not feel threaten by him. somewhere in the middle of eating your steaks. "So do you not like dancing? or is it when the proper invite is given?"

She blushes at the comment on being cute, chuckles.  "You have common ground with Mercia, then."

A wistful smile about new planets.

"Never experienced it, but it sounds..."  She searches for a word, her eyes distant a moment.  "..romantic, I suppose?"


She digs in, for a small woman she has enough appetite to take down that steak, though no telling how much she has eaten lately.

"Dancing?  I am afraid my training did not cover training or certification in such endeavor... "  She hides a smile by looking down.

"But my curiosity of culture did range to song, so I know rhythm."

@ Michelle - he pulls her hand up to his lips kissing it gently... "unless I'm mistaken that's an hour for drinks with the team at 19:00, dinner with your dad is at 20:00.  Now I know my math was never that good but I think that gives us about 2 hours" he says with a smile as he thanks the cook and heads out with her.


When they arrive to the lounge it was obvious the party had already started without them. He looks for the rest of his team after showing their id's to get in.  It seemed odd on board a ship this size to have to do that but it was for their own good not to let things get out of hand by having the crew the sheets to the wind especially if working in the morning...

Cerise responds to Kaarle "Sure, I'll meet you at the celebration. Can we change the venue to the enlisted lounge, however, so that all of Vulture can join in? As I indicated previously, I want to make use of as much free time as possible to build team cohesion, and I've already requested that Banshee and the Vulture crew be prepared to meet up with Wraith after everyone has a chance to clean up. I also sent a message to Lt Valentine to prepare to lead the team in team building exercises, as she is the morale officer."

@ Mirage - "Well I am not a trained professional. But my Martial Arts instructor Jess was adamant we learned how to dance so we could be better martial arts. I'd be happy to take you to the Marcus For a Dance night they host and teach you what I can." Not missing her smile.

  After the steaks were devoured and the evening wore on. Kaarle and Michelle enter, the two guards inform Kaarle that they would return in an hour. minutes later the other squad members enter. Joker has the group push two more tables to the one he and Mirage were at giving himself an excuse to sit next to Mirage.  "Welcome everyone. Rounds are on me. so order whatever you'd like. 

@ Wraith Squadrom - It is now time for you to arrive at the officers lounge.

 @ Cerise - You arrive to see both Wraith and Warlocks sitting at three tables pressed together. you have several set of hands waving you over.

Mirage stops eating a moment, he has her attention now.  Seriously.  Her right ear even twitches a little.

"I have heard of advanced martial artists that also do ballroom dancing to improve their art, particularly with timing and movement."

She nods.  "Yes, if need I will request it as advanced martial arts training."  Yup, full attention.

As the evening wears on and others enter the officers lounge they will find Mirage in her Class A's.  She is impressively decorated for someone so young, in a way.  For a normal person.  (It's in the "Cast" area).  She is sitting next to Joker and talking to him amiably despite the fact she probably was the one to kill him in training.

Cerise walks over to the table, indicates to Skyrah and Kaarle and says; "Lt Cherkovski, Lt Valentine, I need to speak with you both outside. Please come with me." She then turns and walks out to the hallway.

"Yes lieutenant" he says getting up from his seat.  He gives Michelle a reassuring wink before stepping outside.

 Arriving the lounge Michelle does nothing to hide the school outfit she wore. Or the smile from the pride she had for her squad mates. She in social and pleasent to everyone as they enter.

  Michelle gives a sad look as the three leave the lounge. But mutters under her breath as soon as they are away. "Does she not understand, the concept of down time."

  After Aravae gave her the slip. She shakes her head and heads out to find Xavier. They had plans for the evening and Aravae was right. She could get food anytime.

  She heads to her quarters and lays down on their bed. Waiting for him to get back from whatever he was doing.

He was tired, a little battered, but he felt much better. He enjoyed the challenge of the spontaneous sparing. Much more fun than the usual, highly programmed fare he was used to. "Not too bad yourself. You men must really hate training with you." He said with a smile as he turned to look in the direction the man mentioned.

He looked back at the sergeant. "I am looking forward to it." He returns the handshake. "Thirteen."

He watches him leave and grabs his towel once more wiping his face and moving towards her. "Hello Avarae. Were you looking to exercise too?"

@ Thirteen - She giggles. "Do you think I am fat? (she is not) I do not know anything about working out. On my world we use the great swamps and physical activity to stay in shape." you see her look down and play with her feet on the floor. "I was bored and Sillia was going on about responsibilities." She looks up at you a certain sadness in her eyes. "I felt lonely. None of the other our own age on this ship would talk with me. I love Sillia and Xavier, but they act like my parents and I do not need them standing over me all the time. On my world I would be old enough to make my own way." Again she looks at her feet. "Your my only friend and I thought since your unit is off for the night you would maybe hangout."

"No swamp here and the kind of activities I do are not... fun. " He said with a shrug. "So exercise it is to keep me healthy."

Thirteen tilted his head slightly to the right. He certainly understood what it meant to be lonely but had no idea how to go about solving that.

"Alright. Let me take a shower and you think of what you would like to do in the meantime."

  @ Thirteen Her eyes begin to feel with tears as she believes your about to reject the idea of hanging out with her.
But once you tell her you'd be back shortly she is all smiles and you suddenly feel like your five degrees warmer. "Okay she say excitedly"

  Once you return she says she heard of the enlisted lounge and that she is allowed to go there. And that there is suppose to be some games you two could try.

@ Gargoyle

Skyrah actually turned a bit red at his obvious compliment, that brought a small glint in her mismatched eyes, one of a blue, one of a green. She would look down, obviously not used to such compliments, and caught sight of her watch and frowned. "Damnit, I'm going to be late, but I want to stay here..." She said quietly, then her expression quickly brightened as she thought of something. "Hey, we beat Joker's squadron in a duel today and he has to buy our squadron drinks. ...can....would you like to come?"

OOC: Figured I'd get this out of the way before I answer Cerise's post. Don't worry Cerise, Skyrah is there or just arriving, I just need to see under what circumstances. Once I get Gargoyle's response here, I'll then reply to yours. You guys just post uber fast while I'm at work.

Thirteen nods. "I don't know much about games but we can give it a shot." He said and walked with her over there.

@ Skyrah - when he notices your eyes, he smiles; "Your eyes are amazing." his expression saddens when you say you have to go. "I am off duty in an hour. If you save one drink for when I am off, Ill buy you one in just a little over an hour."

@ Thirteen - She smiles. "That is okay. I do not know any of the earth game either."

  Once you both arrive the Bartender informs you both he will not serve either of you alcoholic beverages. but he lets you guys in. There is almost no one here. so all the tables are open. The bartender officers to help you with the rules to any of the games if you need. He hands you each a soda of your choice.

She managed another blush when he complimented her eyes, it was something she would ask him about later. Especially when he said he would meet her at the lounge when he got off. "Deal!" She said brightly, and then began to pack up her things. She would then stand her barely five foot tall self up, crouching if she needs to. "I'll wait for you there." Then she moves to the edge of her Veritech, leaps off, and heads for the Officer's Lounge.

Skyrah would show up at about the same time that Cerise did, not even having her first drink yet, as she is suddenly asked to join Cerise in the hall with Kaarle. A sigh escaped her, as she nodded and followed Cerise out with Kaarle.

Thirteen asks the bartender for any soda he would recommend.

"So what game do you want to play?"

Xavier went to the kitchen and grabbed some food for him and Sillia, and made his way back to their quarters, when he got their, Sillia was on the bed. Trying to hide and fumble with everything in his arms. Why are you not with Aravae? I was planning something special and her you go and ruin it, I suppose you win this one my kitten.

Xavier gets cleaned up.

Silas makes his way through the halls, and finds himself outside the lounge behind  two of the people that he was looking for to apologize to.

He walks up to the group, Excuse me Ma'am, Ma'am, Sir he says to each in turn, I am sorry to interrupt but I would like to apologize to Lt. Valentine and Lt.Cherkovski for my behavior earlier today in the hanger bay. It was not the best time or place to display such behavior, and I am ashamed for not realizing it at that moment. Please forgive me.

He looks at Cerise, I'm sorry Ma'am let me introduce myself, I am Silas Nightshade but it will be alright if you call me Pocket. Feeling a little intimidated by her stature. Well, If you'll excuse me Ma'am, Ma'am, Sir, I have one more person to find and apologize to.

With that he walks into the Lounge. he sees Lt. Grey walks up to her touches her shoulder,  I would like to apologize to you earlier today for my behavior, please forgive me.

  @ Silas and the Group around them. When Silas taps her shoulder she gives him a warm smile. She was trying to make sure nothing would ruin her mood. "Its Fine, Pocket, Take one of those seats over there she pointed to one of the empty seats. Kaarle has claimed this one. It was funny. Nothing to be work up over."

  When the wait person arrives she orders a strawberry Dakari with extra whipcream. But it was clear on her face she was agitated and constantly looking over to the door.

Mirage waves to Silas as he comes in, she's near the end of the table and is sitting next to Joker.  She's in her mess dress, medals and all.

She's been talking to Joker about something, and seems relaxed, a lot different then he has seen her so far.  For a Zent she seems pretty 'human' acting at the moment.

@ Thirteen - the bartender recommends the Proto-cola it has three flavors, Original, Orange, fruity Punch.

 She looks at the pool table "We could try this one." She smiles.

  The guy shows you two how to rack them, gives you the basic rules and demonstrates how to play. before resetting the balls and letting you play.


  @ At those in the Lounge - Joker looks at Silas with a big shit eating grin. "So your the one with the Balls to kiss his CO hands after Twirling with his girlfriend. I even heard you had Delta here trying to escape. I have to admit that is impressive you got a Meltrandi warrior to back up like that.I have seen this girl in action and I know she can handle herself."  He gestures to the wait staff over again. "I think this man here needs a round, good sir. We need to drink to his luck and his balls of steel." He stands up; "I think we need to get the others back in here for this toast."

Mirage makes a sputtering sound and elbows Joker.  "I thought that kicking his ass in public might be detrimental to my career, that's all."  She blushes at the ribbing she is getting.

"I guess I'll try all three. Oh, and something to snack on if you have it please."

Thirteen was beginning to feel the effects of skipping his meal to engage in heavy exercise. He listened to how you played the game and trying a stab at it. The game was about precision, something he had long ago learned, so he felt he had a grasp on it.

"Well, here goes." he said and hit the ball like he was supposed to.

  Thirteen - He smiles and gets you the three drinks. He puts a bowl of Peanut type nut on the counter. "We do not keep food here. That be more the rec center on the Marcus Antonius."

  Aravae is excited as you hit the balls. and your ability to get the game. And sips from the different flavored drinks she got to match you. "We can get you food if your hungry."

  Lounge group - Joker laughs at the jab and the response from Mirage. "I doubt not your skill m'lady, just recongizing the man who had the balls to dance with the COs girlfriend and grabbing at a Meltrandi warrior. No matter how beautiful she is."

  There are some chuckles and laughter from around the tables.

Mirage snorts, then chuckles.  "I suppose it does, after all.  He even caught me off guard."  She raises her beer in salute.  "To the pilot who took the title of newbie to Wraith from me."

@ Silas: Cerise smiles; "Welcome to the team."

@ Kaarle, Skyrah: After Silas enters the lounge, Cerise looks at Kaarle first; "I assume that whatever he is apologizing for is what I needed to ask you about. There was some incident during your training today? I take it that LCDR Fell handled it, so my main question is, is it going to be a problem going forward?"

In reply to Cerise (msg # 101):

Shakes his no in response.   "Yes LCDR Fell addressed the incident with the new recruit.  There shouldn't be any further problems" he said hoping she would let things drop now that Silas was making his rounds apologizing.

"Skyrah if you could arrange a squad meeting prior to morning PT I'd like a chance to speak to everyone so that we are all on the same page.  This can wait until later, don't want to let your drink to get cold" he said with a smile

@ Kaarle, Skyrah "Very well; I would like to know what occurred, but you can send me a message later with the details. Please, return to your party; I have something further to discuss with my morale officer, but she should be back in soon as well." Cerise waits for Kaarle to head in, before she continues.

Kaarle nods then darts back inside finding his seat next to Michelle hadn't been occupied.  He smiles to her.  "Sorry about that, hopefully that will be the last of official duties for the night" he said optimistically.

He wasn't in the mood for vodka tonight, he wasn't something he could taste, something he could savor as he tried to enjoy the evening.  When they came around asking for another round of drinks he responded "Bourbon... neat please" he stated.

Apparently he'd just missed some sort toast, announcement, or something.  That didn't really bother him, he was just happy for the reprieve from today's nonsense and crossed his fingers that there wouldn't be anymore drama tonight.

  Seeing Kaarle return and take his seat, brought physical signs she felt more at ease. "Welcome back Sir." She reaches under the table and eases her own hand under his. She smiles as she listens to the conversations. But keeps looking back and forth between Joker and Mirage. At their playful flirting.

  "So what is everyone's plans tonight?" she asked the group as a whole.

Thank you, Michelle, it is Michelle right, or is there something else you would prefer me to call you?

 He says in response. I really do look foward to working with the squad.

  @ Silas - Michelle nods her head at your first question. "I go by Batgirl when flying." she says. She rubs Kaarle leg.

@ Cerise

Skyrah would stand there, silent as Cerise and Kaarle spoke. She let him handle that situation as she firmly feels she was in the right to defend herself in the way she did from a non-wanted touch.

When Cerise dismissed Kaarle, but stated she still wanted to talk to her, Skyrah stood there in her usual calm, calculating, emotionless self waiting. Those eyes of two different colors looking up to Cerise as she waited for her to speak.

Silas was just going walk into the lounge and to say hi to everybody then leave.
When he saw Michelle he had to apologize to her, when he had finished apologizing to her he decided to walk over to the table that Joker and Mirage were at since Mirage waved at him.

Hello Mirage, he says how is your evening going so far?  he looks at Joker Hello I am Lt. Nightshade, but you can call me pocket. listening to joker talk about what had happened earlier in the day his face changed to an interesting shade of red from embarrassment. Yes I did, however the outcome of those actions were not the best in the given situation.

Thank you Joker, but I will have to decline, I heard that this is a congratulatory party for the squad and their accomplishments in the simulator today. I had only showed up after they had finished. Can I get a rain check for next time? 

@ Thirteen - She smiles as she tried to hit the balls. She is no where as good as you are. but she is having fun as she plays. When she does get one of the balls to go down the on of the holes she is giddy and dances around with excitement. When its your turn she sips on one of her drinks and sometime a little from all at the same time, playing with the different taste. "The Bubbles tickle my nose she says." with a giggle.

  You notice she does not seem to be trying to win, but more in prolonging the games you play. "Thirteen? Why do you not like having fun? If i help teach you have fun, will you help me become a hunter, fighter like you?" She ask you while leaning on the edge of the Table her tail swinging behind her.


  @ Silas - "Seat down and drink with us Pocket, that's an order." he say with a laugh.  "we only get three rounds. So tell that server what you want and enjoy." He signals the server who takes your order.

She did, well she is getting older, we will just have to let her be. he said to Sillia after the first kiss.

"It has been a decent night so far, Lieutenant Nightshade."

Mirage grins about the accomplishments of the squad.  "I am still uncertain about the tactics involved.  Michelle though, she is a hell of a pilot."

  Michelle blushes at Mirages complements. She slides herself closer to Kaarle's side.  "We worked as a team. And when your teamed up with talented pilots such as you, it makes it easy to look good." She return the complement before taking another drink from the strawberry Dakari. "mmmmm... this is so yummy..." another drink.

Mirage shrugs.

"I was hanging it out there at max, nothing held back.  I was taught to be ferocious.  Already nearly got me killed, earned me a medal.  Anytime you get a medal it means your sense of duty overrode your sense of self preservation."

She taps by her top medal, the UEG Cross.  A lot of it's recipients get it as they leave as medical, or get it posthumously.  The award right under the MOH itself.

"I'll probably buy it before I turn twenty, that's the life of a zoomer, right?  A short but brilliant flame."

She raises her glass in a toast, and without waiting drinks deeply, a slightly haunted look to her eyes.

 Michelle's eyes grow distant as she listens to Mirage's brief history. She watches as she downs her drink. "I am bred to die in the line of duty. I have been in active combat mission for the last six years with the black ops missions and will not be given recognition for any operations we partake of. We do not exist. And I have never existed, until last night." Her eyes fill with tears as she speaks but a smile appears as she gets to the end.

Mirage raises her glass to Michelle's statement, then drains it, she seeks a refill and offers another toast.

"To all the unsung heroes who weren't flashily stupid in front of a bunch of people, but got the job done."

"Its not that I don't like having fun. Just that I don't remember ever having much opportunity to do so. I don't remember what it is supposed to feel like." Thirteen said with a shrug.

"No, not like me." Thirteen said seriously. "I will teach you to protect yourself if you want but not like me." There was not meanness in his sudden shift to a serious tone. He was honestly concerned for her.

@ Thirteen - She looks at you puzzled when you tell her you do not recall having fun. Until she realized your memory was missing. Then her look turns sympathetic. "Well what about now? Are you having fun with me?

  Her face twist, when you say; "Not like you." she leans closer with a sly smile; "Why not like you, Sillia says she thinks you could easily take down most of the grown ups on in the fleet. I want to be able to do that to. I am willing to be the best workout partner you ever had. I'll do whatever it takes. Please Thirteen!" her own look growing more serious as she speaks.

"It's...well..." Thirteen blurted out not quiet sure how to put into words what was in his mind. He sighs as he tries to explain.

"Why do you want to be able to do that?"

@ Thirteen - Aravae moves closer to you so she did not speak so unwanted ears hear her. "I want to be a great hunter too Thirteen." She looks at you with pleading eye "Is it bad of me to want to be the best." She gives you a look "I'd settle for second best"

"I thought you wanted to heal others." Thirteen asked.

@ Thirteen - She looks at the floor. "I... I.." she looks up at you. "I do want to be a healer Thirteen. I.. I.." she looks back to the floor. "I want to be a hunter like my parents, Thirteen. And I want to have something to do here."

@ Skyrah - Cerise continues; "I sent you a missive the moment I arrived back on the Gambit, and I was surprised that you had not replied yet. As you know, you are the morale officer for the Vulture group. I just want to make sure you understand that; you are not just the morale officer for Wraith squadron, but for everyone. Including the mostly enlisted crew of the Vulture and Banshee squad. We need to build the whole team, not just Wraith. Choosing the officer's lounge as the venue for this get together certainly does not work in favor of that.
So, beyond this little celebration, did you have any plans for building the esprit de corps among the Vulture group during our down time, as I ordered?"

Silas takes a minute to think.

Alright I will sit and have one drink, but after the one drink I really must insist on leaving. I have a couple things that I would like to do. I might be a little reckless at times, but i strive to be a little responsible as well.

It takes Silas all of thirty minutes to finish his drink. Just as he said he would, he got up from the table getting ready to leave.

  @ SIlas - As you start to get up another drink is set in front of you.

Mirage simply accepts a new drink, and will start in on it immediately.

@Silas "What is there to do, when you are assigned to be at a party here?  Drink up, it's your duty."

Kaarle squeezes Michelle's hand trying to reassure her.

There was so much he wanted to say right then but he decided to hold his tongue.  It wasn't like him not to vocalize his opinions but he knew this was neither the time nor the place.  He just hoped that others would take his queues to just shut the fuck up and not pry unnecessarily.

"I understand that ma'am, but you need to understand that I did not authorize or choose this venue instead of blaming me for it all. Perhap's ma'am, asking how this came about would have been a better way to start so that you could understand why it is here. Joker Challenged our Squadron to a duel. Kchek accepted. LCDR Fell authorized this location because of the terms and reason's of the duel. Not me." She explained emotionlessly. "Had a similar thing happened with Banshee, I'd not be blaming you for the location, I'd be congratulating you for the victory and let the other's know the great job you did which can in of itself build morale." She continued. "Not only that but you also have to understand that ANY off duties morale building stuff would have to be done without Batgirl as she is restricted to quarters. She was authorized by the LCDR to be here for all of an hour. Which by the way, taking Kchek from her for even just the minute you did here can be damaging to her morale. So with that in mind, the only morale building stuff we can do has to be done during duty hours." It was obvious that she had placed some thought into all of this. "With that in mind I had planned on talking to Fell to see if she would authorize at least one day a week where our training is suspended and we use that for morale building." Then she considered for a moment. "No one in the squad's know wone another. I am considering that our first morale building exercise be a group get together in the hangar, where we all learn more about one another. Me and Delta's little debate gave me the idea."

  She smiles. "Yes she is old enough to take the rites of passage. I do not know how much longer I will be able to keep control of her."

Thirteen sighed and closed his eyes for a moment. He was not a teacher nor did he know how to be one. He supposed he could just make it up as he went along. It was probably smarter just to shut this down now but he didn't want to make her sad.

"Alright, but we do it right. That means with patience and starting with the basics first. I am also only taking you to a certain point. Then you will have to decide what you really want. If you are willing to do it that way then fine."

  Aravae jumps onto Thirteen and hugs him, She even removes her breather mask and kisses his cheek.  she dances with excitement. "Yes I agree. I will be your best student ever." Again she jumps around with excitement.

Maybe we should plan for it, and surprise her he had said.

I really should go get my stuff arranged in my quarters, I just threw it where it landed and left. but since you insist that I have another drink.

Silas says as he sits back down at the table that Mirage is at. but this will have to be the last one.

Thirteen momentarily tensed up when Aravae hugged him as he had to fight against every instinct he had to not immediately take down something coming towards him. He relaxed a moment later however.

"Alright, then we will start by coming up with a exercise program for you. This way while we are away you know how to work out."

@ Silas - Joker laughs as does most of Warlock squadron. "Relax lieutenant, you have one more round before your cut off."


@ Thirteen - Aravae sees you tense up. but does not react differently as if she fully trust you. "okay, I think that would be a good idea." She takes another drink of one of the sodas.

Kaarle chuckles at Silas being called out on trying to leave so soon.  After his stunt earlier there was no sympathy for the man.

"You'll be fine Silas, worst case scenario you have to get up early to clean up your mess..." he said as he took a sip on his bourbon...

@ Skyrah "You may not have proposed the venue, however, did you ask that it be re-located to the enlisted lounge instead? I understand that this sort of thing is entirely new to you; likely not part of your training, but you did ask for the position. As for Batgirl; I'm sure that I can secure dispensation for her to attend team building exercises, since it is, nominally, part of our duties and training.
There is also the question of responding with due diligence to my missive; everyone is responsible for keeping track of their individual communications, and since I made my expectation, that down time would be focused on team building, clear even prior to this training mission, I would think it would be obvious that the morale officer would communicate any disruption to that plan, rather than making their CO track them down after the fact. Assuming that this plan could not have been altered to suitably include the entire group, a responsible morale officer would have also come up with, and communicated, alternate plans for those who could not attend.

Please, return to your gathering; I will communicate with Banshee, and the crew of the Vulture, to see what I can do for them. Since Batgirl is restricted to quarters while not on duty, apparently, I will also communicate with LCDR Fell to see if I can get dispensation for her."

Having dismissed you, she immediately turns and heads off, not waiting for a response.

@ Vulture Crew and Banshee members Cerise sends an instant communication to your devices: All Vulture crew and Banshee members; please report to the enlisted lounge at 22:00. (OOC: I just made up the time, but I wanted it to be about and hour or two from now.)

@ Gargoyle Cerise also sends a message to LCDR Fell, requesting 10 minutes of her time, when she is available.

  @ Cerise and others; An unknown voice comes over the radio's, Lt. Grey and Lt. Cherkovski are to report to the commander at 2100 hours (9pm)and will be indisposed for the rest of the evening. Unless this is an emergency.


  Cerise - Lt. fells voice can be heard. You are told to report to her personal quarters as that is where she is currently at.

Cerise reports to LCDR Fell's quarters immediately.

Once there, unless Fell has other business to take up, she keeps it short, simply requesting dispensation for Michelle to attend team building exercises when and where they fall outside of her normal duty schedule: "Thanks for seeing me LCDR. I simply wanted to ask for dispensation for Lt Grey to attend any team building exercises that happen to fall outside of her normal duty hours, in the interests of building esprit de corps within the Vulture group."

@ Cerise

"I am sorry but I will not support or back the mandatory use of all of our downtime for team building exercises as that in of itself will destroy the morale of all three units. Furthermore I am not going to countermand something that I had no part in making in the first place. She let those sink in for a moment before continuing. "With that in mind ma'am I have no problem being the unit morale officer I will be, however if the above mentioned items cannot be done then possibly you might wish to look elsewhere because I will not destroy unit morale in the name of building it.

Then she paused again. "Also ma'am did you take into account the day you made ne the morale officer, was the same day I got told I was going to have an entire skill set directly enplanted into my brain? Or that the entire next day I be on bed rest, which was yesterday mind you? This is the first day I have had any chance to do anything regarding my duties, and not be in a lowered state of mind regarding my status as property. During this entire bit her voice is lowered so only Cerise hears.

Then she raises her voice back to normal. I'll handle LCDR Fell ma'am. Losing one day of training for games and such would benefit morale considerably in the long term, considering what our next mission is. Plus, as morale officer, its my job to discuss this stuff with her. As to using downtime for it, I suggest one night a week we all get together in the NCO lounge. We all sit and relax together and use that night to learn about one another.

With that, when Cerise dismisses her she will using the proper protocol step away from Cerise and return to the party.

@ Cerise - when you enter you notice the quarters are almost identical to a standard officers quarters, except there is no top bunk, and there is a private bathroom in the back. She is not in uniform, but a t shirt and sweatpants. You can tell she has been crying.

"Good evening lieutenant, " she directs you to have a seat on her desk chair. "Cerise, if your team runs over her time constraints let Lt. Cherkovski know immediately so he can address the issue. The commander is making him her personal ward, since he has already taken the duty upon himself anyways. she will have a guard stationed outside her quarters when he is not accompaning her. I think your team would benifet from some type of group activity. You should discuss with them what they may enjoy doing as a group. Lets make it something that is off ship and fun. Also something youth friendly, the commander would like to give Aravae some time with her family as well, and this could be the perfect oppertunity to kill two birds with one stone.


Gm Note: Cerise, im not trying to cause issue. This was my fault as i did not take this into account when i first posted.

"A longer group activity, including friends and family; which may only be Aravae at this time, might be quite a good idea. Having an atmosphere of family vacation would certainly go a long way towards building that sort of connection amongst the team.

And I will work with Lt. Cherkovski if we ever need to do anything outside of normal duty hours. Thank you, ma'am.

Cerise pauses as she considers the situation, briefly, then she resumes; By the way, ma'am, if you ever need anyone to talk to, feel free to call upon me. I don't want to impose, but not only am I trained in psychology, but I'm also happy to be a friendly ear."

  @ Cerise - "Tomorrow after PT your team will go to the Marcus Antonius for the day to find a group activity to do as a team building. I was informed one of Wraiths Veritechs had issues and will be down another day. So take this opportunity to have your troops do their team building and enjoy a bit of fun."

  When you point out the situation she quickly wipes her face. "Its nothing. just a bad day. IS there anything else I can do for you?" 

@ Wraith, Gargoyle

Skyrah walks back into the room, pulling out her tablet and typing a message on it that is sent to LCDR Fell, Cerise, and Kaarle. I hereby respectfully turn down the offer of being the units morale officer for Vulture Group. If knowledge of why I am making this choice wishes to be known, consult me in private and I will discuss the matter with you. If after said discussion I am persuaded to change my mind, that matter can be broached at that time. She then sets the tablet down on the table with her satchel.

During all of this she remains her normal calm, calculating, emotionless self. As she speaks, her tone remains flat, flatter then normal, as if she is suppressing something. She did not want to ruin the mood, so would attempt to be her usual self. "So, I believe someone was buying drinks for us? Where's mine?"

 @ Skyrah -  Everyone Watches Skyrah with her tablet. Joker signals the Server to you. He takes your order quickly and returns almost as fast.

Skyrah has never drank before, so has no idea what to order what so ever. "He's buying, so let him surprise me." She said flatly, indicating Joker.

As she waited for the server to return she just sat there, staring at her tablet, that at the wooden case tied to her satchel, then back. Her eyes even fluttered across her satchel now and then too.

@ Skyrah Kaarle notices you finally made it and waves you over.  "what took so long with the Lieutenant?" he asks as he starts sipping his second round of bourbon obviously he didn't have either his tablet on him or his wrist communicator.  For those that pay attention he never has the tablet on him, saving that for when hes back at the quarters since if anyone needs to reach them they can directly.  And of course since they are off duty he sure as fuck isn't gonna have his communicator cause well if folks want him while off duty it better be for a damn good reason.  He didn't really considers Cerise's inquiry before the party a problem, hell considering how things went with Fell he was surprised they could still go, but now he wondered why Skyrah was tied up for so long since the bullshit from earlier had already been addressed.

Mirage perks her brows and leans in to Joker, who she is sitting next to, and whispers something to him, then sits back up and takes a sip of her beer, taking appraisal of how the 'new guy' was doing.

"No, nothing else, ma'am. Have a better evening."

Cerise leaves the LCDR alone, offering is all she could do. When her communicator beeps indicating a new message, she reads it. Well, at least now she knew Lt Valentine's limitations. Since the whole group had been offered some group time the next day, and since meeting up with Banshee/Vulture that evening had been nixed, she decided to head back to her quarters and write up a communique indicating the groups orders for the next day.

@ Everyone After PT tomorrow, we will be heading to the Marcus Antonius for team building. Friends and family are invited to attend as well, as available.

When the drink arrived Skyrah downed the entire thing, and asked for another, without hesitation or thought. She waited for it, then downed it, and asked for a third. Michelle knowing Skyrah, would know she's never drank alcohol before. This is unlike her. "She decided that Joker's friendly thing here should have included not just us, but also Banshee and Vulture. Then made it a point to remind of my duties as morale officer, and to remind me that she wanted all three groups together during off duty hours, all off duty hours. Then did not give me one chance for rebuttal, so I exercised my right as a officer in the UEEF and resigned as morale officer, which likely ended my career. I am not going to sacrifice everyone's free and off duty time everyday like that when I strongly and vehemently feel it would be more damaging to the individual's morale, which long term would damage unit cohesion and morale as a whole. So I sent a message to you, her, and Lieutenant Commander Fell stating I turn down the position." When the third drink arrives, she downs it too. Then begins to laugh a bit, finally frowning softly. Joker listens and smiles. "A great idea." shortly a long island icetea is set down in front of Skyrah. "easy as you drink this young lady. its strong."

Skyrah opened her tablet, and frowned. Setting it back down again she says nothing about it. "Figures."

Skyrah is now drunk. And when you each read her conversation it should be slurred.

  Joker offers to walk her back to her quarters as a young Lieutenant makes his way over. You recognize him as the head mechanic of Skyrah's team. "Greetings Reader, I was able to get off a little early." he says with a smile, until he sees her condition.

In reply to Skyrah Valentine (msg # 153):

Kaarle nods listening to Skyrah intently, as his third and final round finally arrives at the table he slide it over to her.

"Don't say never did anything for ya" he said with a smile..."and try not to let the moral officer thing get to you.  I sorta put you on the spot with that duty thinking if nothing else you would do the job well, all the while still looking frumpy as ever while doing it" he said with a chuckle.

In reply to Kaarle Cherkovski (msg # 155):

"...its okay. No harm, no foul...  ...I'd have been okay with it, but she just wants things done that I strongly feel would do more harm than good...  I cannot support that." Skyrah said, with a bit of a slur.

Then she noticed Nick as he walked over to her, looking up to him he could tell she was truly upset, and not herself. "...I never drank before... ...and my Commander's Commander made me upset..." Then she frowned, looking truly, and rightfully sad at how she looked to him right now. "...I'm sorry... ...I know I promised..."

Nick ask if he can join seeing the drink in front of Michelle  he orders two more of those. and once they are set on the table he slides one over closer to Skyrah. "Don't let them see you drink it or we'll both be in trouble."

Kaarle looked to Michelle then to Nick..."we'll make sure she gets back to her bunk in one piece..." as he continued to watch her spiral into drunkenness..."more or less anyways..." he added not wanting to stop this from happening in the least.

Skyrah needed this reminder that she was human more then she may even realize, it was good to let your emotions out every once in awhile.

 Michelle sees Skyrah letting go with mixed emotions. Having only just learned about drinking herself. "Sir, if your gonna allow her to continue, she may need to seek medical solutions for her ability to report to duty tomorrow." She says squirming a little in her seat.

  However with Nicks Arrival, and the way she reacted to his presence seemed an interesting twist to the situation.

Nick had an idea how Skyrah had been feeling, all her songs she'd been playing had been sad, truly sad in tone and music. "...perspective." She said softly.

She took the drink he offered her, and looked at it for several moments, then took a drink of it. "...I'll be in trouble anyway. Supposed to accept whatever orders or position my Commander's tell me without question, and I just turned one down, and there will be a lot of questions. If my getting in trouble though, helps to make my point that what she wants ain't right though....then I'd spend a week in that chamber without hesitation."

Then she smirked and lifted her glass. "To getting in trouble, for the right reasons."

@Skyrah, Joker  "She's my room mate, Joker.  I'll take her home..."  She eyes the woman.  "Maybe you can help me, she might be a hand full."

@ Skyrah - Nick raises his own glass. "To being in trouble for the right reason. His smile is obviously at Skyrah as he looks at her. "Reader, Would you mind letting me borrow the picture of your seabird?" he ask politely as he finds himself staring once more into her eye.

  Kaarle and Michelle - One of the two guards who was standing outside of the lounge listening to everyone. Approaches he bends down and informs you in a quiet as possible way to inform you that the hour is up and it was time to report to the commander.

He takes a long drink of whatever he was drinking, he couldnt remembr what it was called, but it did taste good.

Feeling not himself he looks in the direction towards Lt.Cherkovski and asks him a question in a rather loud and slurred voice.

Then he hits his head on the table with a loud thump.

  @ Skyrah - he takes it out of your hands and carefully removes the image, making sure he does not tear it. "Thank you reader. I think you should get some rest so you do not get grounded from flight. I know you have everyone here volunteering to take you back to quarters. But if you do not mind, I'd like to walk you back as well. If that is okay with you?"


 @ Group - Joker Laughs at the new guys low tolerance. "Well as it appears to me that the new guy needs someone to walk him back Ill have Aang and Katara help him back to his quarters. The two teenagers get up and help Silas to his room.

Silas grabs the bottle of water, takes a drink, and falls asleep.

Thirteen was glad she was feeling better although now he had to figure out how to do what he had promised. Then he got the call. Better to get something to eat now before he had to go to the activity.

"Alright. Lets do that. Once we have the tablet we can plan something out while we get something to eat."

  @ Thirteen - You both get to your room your tablet is beeping. Your will be going to the MA after PT. There is not meeting at 10 pm for you. her tablet also tells her to report after pt for the trip to the MA. Once you have hers and make your way to the mess Hall, she gets a small plate of food while staying close to you and a bottle of water.

Thirteen orders s large amount of food and starts to eat it. He wants to get his hunger under control somewhat before continuing the conversation.

@ Thirteen - Aravae's eyes are huge as she watches you eat the pile on your plate. She does not say anything but smiles as your aura changes to a more positive color.

Once things had settled and Silas was gone he looked to nick realizing it was nearing that time for their dinner with the commander.  "If your going to take care of Skyrah me and Michelle have to take off here shortly.  If not we'll get her back to her quarters now before were late." he said motioning for Michelle to follow as he got up from his seat.

Turning to joker he said "thanks for the drinks"

@ Kaarle - It would be my pleasure to make sure she gets back. My team and I have some minor work to her veritech, And I'll take her back on my way back to the Hanger. With that he stands up and extends his hand to Skyrah. "May I offer to be your stabilizer for the walk back?"

  Joker Smiles It was well worth every penny he says as he looks at Skyrah.

Mirage stands with Joker, smiling as well.

"I will help as well, she's my roommate.

She pulls out her tablet a moment and smiles.

"My hold baggage is here, you know what won't fit in the Veritech?  I think I am going to find a spot to enjoy that after."

Xavier wakes up, with Sillia in his arms the next day. Kitten he says softly, its time to wake up, we've got to go to PT.


He sees a light flash on his tablet, so he picks it up with his free hand, reads the message from Cerise stating that everybody including Aravae were to report to the Marcus Antonius after P.T. this morning.
He also reads the  next message that she sent, oh crap we might be in trouble for this one. Noting that they didn't report to the enlisted lounge at 2200, he thinks back what where we doing at that time. A big smile crosses his face.

Xavier speaks a little bit louder, Kitten, wake up hun, P.T. then the Marcus Antonius for a little bit with Aravae. and we need to apologize for not going to the enlisted lounge at 2200 last night, we have been indisposed.

Kaarle nods to Nick and responds to the group.  "Thanks again Joker and team, everyone have a good night"

With that him and Michelle make their exit...

"I'll be okay, sir. I promise." Skyrah says to Kaarle as him and Michelle turn to leave.

Then she looked over to Nick, and offered him a small smile. "...I'm sorry." She really did feel bad, it seemed. "....anyway, I'm ready to go I guess." She said to Nick and Mirage as she stood up, standing a full 5' tall it was no wonder she got drunk quickly. Still she seemed to be handling it a bit better then the new guy even with her small size.

Mirage helps drive Skyrah home, she's short for a Zentradi female at only about 5'6", and while looking slim has a fair amount of whipcord muscle.

"Ok Pixie Stick, You got top bunk.  Think you can make it up there, or do I need to swap bunks for the night with you?"

  She rolls over; "Why do you think your the only one who wakes to that stupid alarm? Just because I like laying next to my big strong studly man does not mean I am not awake."

  With that she gets up dresses kisses Xavier one more time before placing her mask on. She offers Xavier her hand so they can walk hand in hand to the gym.

  Michelle takes Kaarle's hand and follows his lead to the exist. She is smiling feeling just a little warm from the drinks she had without realizing the amount of alcohol she had actually consumed.

  She is excited at the dinner prepped for her by the commanders personal Chef. She give a nervous look at Kaarle when the Chef's aid begins to say something which was not suppose to be spoken in front of Kaarle. But once the Commander has dealt with it and dinner continued she enjoyed two more glasses of the Peryton berry wine that was served with dinner.

  The walk with the commander and his guest for the evening to the now closed off observation deck felt like she was in Heaven. She watched nervously as Kaarle and the Commander walked to the other side and chatted, Despite being scared out of her mind she tries her best to make small talk with the commanders guest.

  But the best part of the evening was when they were left to alone in the Observation deck to stare out at the stars and planet below while she held onto him heads resting next to each other. When he realized she was beginning to feel the full effects of all the drinks she had. She was happy when he lead her back to their quarters, but slightly sad.

  With the slap to the butt she jump and climbed into bed. It felt great to feel his strong arms pulling her tight to his own body. She snuggled back into him as tight as she possibly could. As she used his arm as a pillow as he spooned her she whispered; "I'm not a freak. He wants m...." she did not get to complete that final thought and tell him she loved him.


  Several hours later she wakes with a startle; "No", her eyes opened wide as she takes in the situation catching her breath. She stretches her arms as best she can and then rolls over. So that she can see him sleeping there, his face illuminated by the little light on the other side of the room. He moves and lightly kisses him on the lips, whispering "I love you." before laying her head back down on his arm allowing herself to drift back off to sleep once more feeling safe with him there to protect her.

Skyrah & Mirage
  Joker keeps Delta from stepping in to close making sure that she did not interfere with the two interaction. with a nod and a look. He allowed Skyrah and Nick to walk ahead of them.

  Nick is careful not to damage the image he was borrowing from Skyrah.He walks with her back to her quarters not paying attention to the other. "You owe me a date" he says with a smile. "Well Thank you for letting me walk you back. But I really do need to get back to your veritech, I have my crew pulling a double to get it ready."

  Joker gives Mirage a smile, "I think they have something going on there. I know the next couple weeks are gonna be busy especially since we will be on different ships. But on your down time sometime this week. You should come to the MA and let me buy you a actual dinner in a restaurant. Bring something that is not a uniform. Let your hair down and have some fun. But like Nick here I need to get to the hanger and meet up with my squadron and get to the MA."

  With that both the Men head off to the hanger.

  Thirteen You and Aravae finish you meals and draft up a basic workout program. before it finally becomes apparent you are both tired.

  You find yourself in the backseat in a car. It seems good at the beginning with a teenage girl and a full grown woman driving. You know them them, you feel happy until you hear the screams. The car is flipping and falling glass is going everywhere. the screams stop your hanging upside down.
  There are field ablaze, explosions all around you. screams of teammates and friends abound. your screaming ring in your ears as you feel pain in your chest.

  Suddenly your filled with warmth, Your little, giggling as the teenage girl is holding you. "Its ok, I got you. Sissy is not gonna let anything happen to you. Come on we are going on vacation." Then you hear trouble breathing and; "its ok. Its just a dream." though it sound rasping. Your eyes open suddenly, someone is grabbing at you, they're hands feel different. You swing in self defense only to realize who you actually hit when you hear her sobbing, I'm sorry.. you were screaming... I'm sorry.... Aravae is holding the side of her face.


  The others in the room tell you two to be quiet.

Keeping a little space, she smiles to Joker.

"Sure, I would be honored.  I have more than uniforms, I am.. cultured."  She chuckles, shakes her head.  "That girl and I need to spend a little time getting to know each other, but I guess it can wait."

She sighs, walks along watching.  "I'll have to find a good place to play guitar around here."

"I'm not a pixie stick...  I can put most anyone on this ship on the floor." She said, boasting. Of course Joker would know that to be true considering he had some GenKids in his squad. "...not stealing my bottom bunk...  ...I'm A bunk, A bunk is bottom." Skyrah said as she pointed to the name plates, but she also chuckled a bit. She knew regulations. "Plus, my stuffs already on the shelf on it. I mean in it..."



She managed a smile to Nick we he thanked her. "I know, a proper date. I promise." She said quietly, though a bit nervously. She did wobble a bit but still remained pretty steady on her feet. "They need sleep too..." She said, nodding once. Then she looked at him for several long moments with the eyes of hers.

@ Skyrah - Nick smiles. "Reader, were engineers doubles are not an option when a ship is not working.  Well I need to go, See you soon." With a quick wave as he and joker run off. Leaving you and Delta to figure out your bunks.

Dreams were not something that were common to Thirteen. His training and development did not really encourage that. The entire experience was very disorientating to him. It all felt so familiar yet impossible. Things got more and more intense until, suddenly, he awoke.

As the daze of being sleep began to wear off Thirteen looked at Avarae and the quickly developing bruise on her cheek. He turns his gaze at his hand with a look of horror. His hand begins to shake and tears form as his mind struggles to process what has happened.

Completely confused by the storm of emotions going through his mind Thirteen's jumps out of his bed and backs away to a corner of the room, away from Avarae. He sat on the ground and held his head trying to come to grips with what happening.

@ Thirteen - Aravae seeing his reaction knew instantly it was not his fault. She could feel his emotions screaming. She is looking at you as she begins to crawl to you and does not stop. "Thirteen, Look at me. Look into my eyes and take my hands she says as she kneels in-front of him, her voice and tones soft with a hint of sweetness. Her breathing is control as she takes your hands. Even as you fight her the moment she touches you, your fill with a warming calmness. "Look, Its not bad, its almost gone." Indeed you see the swelling going down. It's okay Thirteen. Everything is gonna be okay.  With that she hugs you and you grow tired as she holds you.

  When you wake up she is wearing her reebreather, but the pack is sitting between you as if someone else put it over her. She is still hugging you as you wake before she does.


  Everyone - You wake to your alarms Pt is waiting. Aravae follows Thirteen having changed into her own workout cloths. Franklin gives you all the morning run down giving Aravae a questioning look before giving his nod of approval. As before Michelle is ordered to do twice the amount as the rest of the group. After your run you have twenty minutes of calisthenics followed by hand to hand combat drills. He look at Lt. Cerise; "Ma'am as we are not using combat armor or mecha, Ill need you to just watch from the side lines." Aravae sits next to Cerise. giving side way glances while acting as Thirteens personal Cheerleader. Which does not go unnoticed but no one dares says anything as Franklin gives them a mean look.
  When your morning PT is finished Sgt. Franklin Dismisses you for morning chow and showers reminding everyone that he'd see them bright and early.

  After Pt. Wraith Squad is formed up by Kaarle for his quick meeting. (I will leave this to him to post)

  Once you have all had a chance to shower and eat you make your way to the hanger. Your right to the Marcus Antonius is waiting for you, an alpha attached to a beta transport.  Once your on board your transported to the MA hanger.

  You are allowed civilian clothing for this outing. one post to close this thread until return flight.

Thirteen slowly wakes up in the morning and sees Aravae sleeping beside him. He gently brushes the fur on her cheek to see that there was no damage there. He remembered though and it made him feel guilty. He remembered other things as well. Nothing concrete, just flashes but also more than he did before. He stealthy left her hug, allowing her to sleep some more while he went to shower... and think.

After getting ready he left with Avarae for their training. He was not particularly talkative and hit the exercise that morning hard, using the opportunity to get a fresh amount of emotion out of his system. He worked even harder than he did the night before as he wanted to be sure he got most of it out of his system before the sparing. He did not want to be hurting anyone else.

After finishing he quietly makes his way to breakfast not making much eye contact with anymore.

  Sillia is happy to see Sgt. Franklin allowing Aravae to join in. Despite the distance Thirteen seems to be trying to Keep she smiled at how her little sister kept after him.

  She on the other hand kept pace with Michelle still feeling guilty about her punishment. She goes through all the training and feeling good about it afterwards. A course she dragged Xavier with her on most of the morning. But she decided she give the two kids some space. there was indeed something strange about their auras. but she had not figured it out yet.

  Once she showered and was ready to go she dressed in her Capri's and light blouse. before making her way to the Hanger bay to head to the MA. She waits on Xavier where needed.

Korvan, Matt, Iphigenia, Severian meet up for PT, get their chow and shower before getting changed into their civilian cloths and meet up with the group on the flight deck.

  Aravae changes into a blue dress with a white sash type belt. While she continues to stay near Thirteen.  But is very social to anyone who is willing to chat. However she is still giving Cerise side glances.

  Waking next to Kaarle felt so right. She stared at him as he slept not willing to wake him. Her arms ached but she loved the feeling of waking next to him. When he he finally wakes she makes a show of getting dressed. She walks with him to PT and tries as hard as she can to bring pride to her squadron.

  After Pt She sits and eats her breakfast with a smile. But with a quick shower she puts a skirt on along with one of Kaarles t shirts. She waits for Kaarle to escorts her to the flight deck.

  She makes light conversation with Aravae, and the other girls of the group.

After PT has completed

Kaarle waited for everyone who wasn't part of his squad to clear out before starting his little meeting.  He stood there looking at them, still sweaty from the workout and a bit uneasy shifting his weight from one foot to the next.

Once the room was clear he says to them.  "So we haven't had a meeting like this before however after everything that happened yesterday it's clear that it has been long overdue."

Gaining some confidence as he set the tone he looked at each on of them, they were standing to attention, and he wasn't about to let them be at ease for this since it had to sink in the seriousness of his message.

"During yesterday's training I was happy to see everyone working together to win the competition between our team and Joker's team, I believe this has helped set the stage for what I feel should be obvious for everyone... That Wraith Squadron isn't one to be fucked with." he said still filled with pride over the outcome.

"You each did your job and you did it well and I thank you for that, now moving on from that we need to clear the air about the events in the hangar" he said as he stepped in front of Silas.

"Your conduct yesterday was out of line, of that we are all clear.  However so was mine and Skyrah's..." he said as he turned to look at his EXO.

"This isn't marine bootcamp, things are handled differently on board ship and I apologize for letting things escalate the way they did." he said turning back to look at Silas before stepping back to his original position.  "With that out of the way lets get to the real point of this meeting" he continued his voice growing stern.

"The fuckery stops NOW!" he snapped as he looked at each and every one of them.

"Lets get something straight, both Michelle and Skyrah don't have the luxury of being reassigned or court-martialed, any continued bullshit and it's likely they will be executed and replaced" he said coldly hoping that reality would sink in for his newest recruits.

"This means that when on duty I expect you to keep your god damn mouths shut about bullshit in front of the other crew members." he said looking directly at Skyrah and Mirage  "If you have a disagreement that's fine, or want to get in a pissing match about who's right or wrong go for it, just save it for later behind closed doors." he said clearly frustrated over the lack of discipline.  "Everything we say and do is under a microscope now, we can't give anyone anymore excuses to shit can this entire team" a genuine look of worry crossing his face as he struggles to maintain composure.

"And if you don't think I'm serious, feel free to ask them yourselves what happens when someone gets quote unquote retired because command thinks they are flawed or have outlived their usefulness..." he continued

He stood straight to attention realizing he needed to be in control of himself and be strong here saying "Now I'm as much responsible for things getting to this point as anyone else, and I will be doing my best going forward to keep my emotions in check and to follow orders, I expect all of you will do the same.  Additionally if there is ever any confusion about your responsibilities and orders please come to me for clarification.  Those sort of things should be coming directly from myself since I'm your CO, I will be having a talk with Lieutenant Cerise regarding the chain of command in this respect since it was painfully clear last night when I was left out of certain discussions that I should have been involved in..." he said referencing Cerise and Skyrah's talk as he looked at her.


"Now then..." he said clearing his voice and stepping forward again finding his confidence as he walked slowly in front of them looking each in the eyes as he spoke.

"So were all clear on this, this is Wraith Squadron, we are supposed to be the best of the best.  So lets start acting like it.  When people look at us I want them to do so with pride and jealousy, not bitterness and contempt.  Make no mistake we are fighting for the survival of the human race here, and even though none of you may share ideals on this matter, let me be clear, while under my command your asses are mine... My ideals are now your ideals, my success is now your success...and my failures are now your failures." he concluded as he ended his walk standing before them now.

"Having said all that, get yourselves cleaned up and lets go have some fun.  Dismissed..." he said with a smile as he looked over at Michelle.

After the meeting.

Kaarle enjoys his breakfast with Michelle not really saying anything, he was too excited about the day, his team needed this more then anything.  Once back at their room he threw on jeans and a t-shirt, smiling as Michelle took one of his for herself.  He put on plain black ball cap and on they went to the flight deck.

  When Kaarle is finished. Michelle replies with "Yes Sir." that he knew she understood.

  As she walks back to the room with Kaarle she whispers in his ear;

Cerise works herself as hard as she can at PT; making a special point to treat Franklin formally, and as if she were a private. This administrative punishment was quite lenient, and she wanted to make sure that the CMDR did not regret his decision to give it. When asked to sit out the sparring, Cerise did so. She did notice Aravae watching her, however. Later on, she addresses it with Aravae: "I have noticed that you've been... examining me. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Are you wondering why Sgt. Franklin had me sit out the sparring practice?"

As for what she wears for her "civvies," Cerise has little choice; Spherians do not normally wear clothes, so it is a uniform, or nothing. She brings along her service dress uniform in a backpack, but is otherwise only dressed in accessories; a belt, a necklace, etc. Obviously she likes crystals and gemstones, since everything adorning her has some sort of them on it; mostly relatively inexpensive crystals and semi-precious stones.

Once everyone is aboard to transport beta, Cerise addresses the group; "Our mission for today is twofold; priority one is to have fun. Priority two is to get to know each other better and learn to trust in each other. To that end, please attend the group rendezvous that I have scheduled during the day; there's one in the morning, group lunch, and one in the afternoon. The morning and afternoon meetings should take no more than 30 minutes each, and, I hope, they should be fun. The rest of the day; please try to enjoy yourselves and build up your friendships!"

Thirteen quietly eats then gets into uniform for the trip. He boards the transport and takes a seat. As he listens to Cerise he looks completely lost by their objective in this mission.

Mirage is energetic and participates well at PT, embracing it rather than treating it as a chore.  She's the kind of person that enjoys cadences and such as well.

She showers and changes into a pair of capris, a light green top, and sneakers.

@ cerise - Aravae stares wide eyed as Cerise addressed her directly.  "Im sorry for staring. I just never met one of your kind. May i touch your hand?"


 @ Thirteen- As you listen to Cerise's speach about having fun, Aravae leans over, "this is so exciting,  we get to leave the ship and go to the mall and go shopping. You need some new cloths. Ill help you if you like."


@ skyrah , Mirage and silas, kaarle michelle - The younger sister of Sillia introduces herself. Hi, im Aravae,  its a pleasure to meet you offically. This is Thirteen if you have not met him. He's shy but he's a great friend."

Mirage grins at Aravae.  "Nice to meet you Aravae, I'm Mirage Fallyna."

She nods to Thirteen  "Good to see you again, Thirteen."

@ Aravae "Of course! My species is unusual amongst the various Sentinel races, I suppose; most species are made of flesh and blood, while we are composed of energy coalesced into a crystalline structure. There's even more that is unusual about us as well, if your curious to learn." Cerise smiles and holds out her hand, so that Aravae can touch it.

  @ Cerise - With your hand held out for her to touch, She tentatively touches you then softly strokes your hand several times. You are suddenly filled with thoughts of happiness and you feel a slight boost of energy. "your hand is so smooth." She says with the innocence of youth. She pulls her hand back when she notice Sillia giving her a look. "Thank you" She says politely.

  @ Thirteen As the Beta begins to vibrate in preperation, Aravae grabs your hand wide eyed looking around at everything.

Cerise continues to smile; "You're welcome. I'm happy to answer any questions you ever have about my species, as I would for any of my team. The only difference is you are young enough and not indoctrinated into military culture enough, that you don't think it is awkward to ask, and I agree; it is not awkward." She then leans in close and whispers; "In fact, did you know that I am even younger than you are?" She then returns to her normal posture and winks.

"I am not sure why I would need new clothing." Thirteen said with honest confusion to Avarae. "The military provides what I need for any mission."

He watched her talk to the others but he returns the nod to Mirage. "Good to see you as well." It was odd to say that to someone who he did not remember. "I hope that one day we could talk about your prior experiences. Perhaps it could help heal the damage I have to my memories."

Mirage slowly nods to Thirteen "Sure buddy, if I can help I will."

Skyrah will wake up at the appropriate time for PT, being her usual self she will not show emotion or demonstrate the effects of any hangover even if she is suffering from one. It's just, who she is.

When Kaarl give his speak Skyrah will stand silently in her position. Inwardly she would smile though, even if no one saw it, he was taking responsibility for his actions which in her mind showed a drastic change in him. When he was done, she stepped forward. "Everyone, the things Lieutenant Cherkovski said about myself and Lieutenant Grey cannot leave this group. The mere act of him even saying what he did in public could get the three of us in trouble. I did not say anything against him saying it, because I trust all of you." With that, she then backed back into formation and nodded once to Kaarl.

When dismissed from formation she would go to her room, shower and change into a clean uniform as she did not own any civilian clothing. She did not see a need for them.

So she showed up for the formation to head over to the Marcus Antonius in her uniform. She would listen to Cerise's spele of what is supposed to go on on the trip. She did not say anything, and remained her emotionless self. Her large shoulder satchel that she always carries with her at her side, with the long wooden box strapped to it. She looked at each of the other a moment, then stood there, waiting.

Skyrah would look Aravae over a minute as she introduced herself. "Hello Aravae. I am Skyrah. I know Thirteen, I, guess you could say I saved his life on the planet where we joined this group." There was obviously something to that story, the wording she used, even in that usual flat tone she uses, said that.

After all that, Skyrah remains quite, cold, calculating. Her usual self again after the event's of the previous night.

@ Skyrah  Mirage will let Skyrah shower first, but when she sees her getting into uniform she tries to waylay her.

"Hey now Roomie, how about I loan you some of my clothes and I will help pick you out something to wear when we hit the shops.  You are going to ruin the mood if you go in that stuff, bad for morale."

She sizes her up and gets stuff out of her drawers, holding them up.. hmmming.

"Ok.. these shorts... these sandals, and this shirt that is tight on me should be loose on you."

Mirage is surprisingly intent on dressing the cold woman.

"What? Why? I saw no reason to buy civilian clothing." She grumbles begrudgingly. She looked at the tactical situation, and realized that this would be a losing battle for her. She grumbled the entire time, begrudgingly as she did in fact change into the clothes that Mirage offered.

Xavier finishes P.T without a hiccup, he goes back to his and Sillias quarters, takes a shower changes into a bright green flowered shirt, and some white shorts.  thinking he looks amazing he heads to the flight deck to get on the shuttle to the MA. he finds Sillia, Hey Kitten he whispers in her ear from behind her how do I look?

 @ Xavier - Sillia leans back into Xavier. "You always look good my Sexy man" she replies to Xavier.

When Miriana's alarm went off, she had no trouble to get up for a change, though that would in a large part have been due to heading to her bunk early the night before. As a result of being well rested, her marks in PT had markedly improved compared to the previous day, and were even a little above her personal average. Having missed dinner though, she took a little longer to have breakfast due to needing twice as much of it. Being in Banshee she had not been present for Kchek's meeting, this meant she had plenty of time to spare for getting in a second helping of food and change into what appeared to be something fit for leisure.

When she entered the beta, she had ultimately decided on a white shirt, with black cargo pants, a black leather jacket and the combat boots that were part of her regular uniform. She was also wearing a large wide-rimmed hat which didn't quite suit the rest of her outfit, but she seemed unaware of this herself. When Cerise mentioned the mission objectives, she frowned.

- "...So our objective is to 'have fun' and 'make friends'? Do you have a set of planned tactics for this?"

She wasn't making fun of the plan or being sarcastic, her voice and tone showed that she was being perfectly serious.

Karma was more than happy to finally get the ok to leave.  She kept the sweat suit they had given her since her flight suit was too torn up to wear.  She still felt a little queasy, but that wasn't going to stop her from getting out of the sick bay.  She could at least sleep in her own quarters, even if they were just as spartan.  Stopping by the nurses station she thanked them with genuine warm smiles and handshakes all around.  She would still have to report for physical therapy, but again was elated to be out of the sick bay.  She wanted to throw up at one point, but held it in so the nurses would not make her go back to the sick bay room.

Making her way to her own quarters, she found the head and threw up in the stainless steel bowl.

  @ Miriana, you are on the Marcus A. with the others.


  @ Karma - you have the lower bunk. your Bunk mate and new wingman is Silas Nightshade and has set up his gear. on his bunk. you will find your stuff in two boxes sealed and with your military information on the top.

After she got cleaned up a bit she made her way to her newly assigned bunk.  She had gotten the word in sick bay, and it wasn't hard to find.  She did, however, wonder where everyone was at at the moment.  Although she was thankful no one saw her puke for the nth time.

With a sigh she pulled her boxes over to her bunk and sat down to go through them.  She fished around for a knife to break the seals.

Once back on board the gambit he got word of Karma's release. He wasted little time escorting Michelle to Karma'so room.   He stayed tight lipped about it hoping to her surprise her.

"Have to stop and take care of something before we go back to our room" he said vaguely add he knocked on the door of the quarters

  Despite the risk Kaarle took with bringing her to see Karma once she Michelle was excited to see her friend.

  Running over to give her a hug; "I missed you so much. How are you doing?"

Upon arriving back on the Gambit, Cerise heads straight for her quarters, since she'd agreed to meet Miriana there. Once Miriana arrives, she invites her in; "Come in Lt Thakun. What did you want to discuss?"

Kaarle wasnt to concerned about the visit.   This was a semi official visit since he wanted to meet with karma to make sure she was ready to resume her duties.

Upon their return to the Gambit, Miriana headed for Cerise's quarters after a brief detour to her own in order to get changed. Given the bunk layouts that placed Wraith and Banshee squadron close together, it would only take a few minutes. Once invited in, she would follow in and stand at attention.

- "Sir, would you explain to me again the purpose of this exercise? Yes, to have fun, but how would you define that?"

Seeing Miriana standing at attention, Cerise figures that Miriana wants to stand on formality, for some reason; "At ease, Lt. As for fun; fun is the enjoyment of pleasure, particularly in leisure activities. The purpose of the group trip to the Marcus was simply to build espirit de corps. The stated objectives were to have fun and to team build. Those were the stated objectives primarily to force the more duty oriented members of the group to focus on something other than pure military life; tactics, efficiency, duty and violence.

I'd say it work pretty well with many of the members of the unit, though it seems to have inspired some ire amongst you, Sgt Korvan, and Severian. I can't say that I'm totally surprised about you or Sgt Korvan; you both hold quite classically Zentraedi attitudes towards service. I am a bit surprised about Severian, but it could simply be that he had something else on his agenda and did not want to be distracted by leisure; I'm not totally certain."

- "Yes, it's... I have spent the better part of a day watching people choose which dress to wear, or what kind of pretty rock would go best with their eyes. Then we visited a school that taught dancing as nothing but a sheer pastime and ate something that in no way would be considered nutritiously balanced."

Miriana gestured somewhat with her hands, trying to get a grasp on the correct way to phrase her opinion, though she did stand at ease when Cerise had told her so.

- "I was born in the vats, on board a military vessel. I can accurately say that every fiber of my being recoiled in disgust at what i've witnessed today, and if it were physically possible the sight alone would have made my eyes cry tears of blood."

More gesturing followed, and she began pacing up and down.

- "And all this time, i could not understand why it was not better to simply do a group exercise in the simulators. How in the name of the Universe would it help the squadron's combat efficiency to know what Thirteen looks like in a leather jacket? Or perhaps we could try and belly dance the enemy to death? Hey, if it works once, right?"

She stopped then, closing her eyes and taking a couple of deep breaths to calm herself down before her rant would end up a tirade.

- "...Apologies Sir, I was out of line."

Cerise answers calmly, trying to relate to you the fundamentals of xeno-psychology that drive her enforced recreation; "It is ironic that you mention utilizing an artistic performance to defeat an enemy, given that that is, effectively, exactly what the Earthlings used to defeat the Zentraedi.

The reason it is good to get to know your teammates personalities outside of the military structure is because the military structure forces most species to hide their true selves. If you are only dealing with someone on a purely professional level, then you will never know what they will do when instinct takes over and you will never know how to, in military terms, increase their individual morale. Today we found out that Lt Grey admires dance, that virtually everyone enjoys pizza, that, despite not being physically the strongest, Lt Cherkovski is driven to pull more than his own weight in a literal sense, that Sgt Xavier and PFC Sillia's relationship has maintained the playful honeymoon stage, despite distance and duty constantly fighting it, and many more tidbits. None of that would have been possible in a simulator.

If our entire unit were made entirely of Zentraedi, what you are suggesting may make sense. Though, even then it may need to be entirely composed of a single gender, given the divide between males and females. But, our unit is not entirely composed of Zentraedi. In fact, it is just about diverse xenologically, as is possible. Of all of those species, only the Zentraedi is a purely military race."

Cerise pauses for a moment, then adds; "Since you brought it up, you may also find it interesting that, while the soft drinks served with the pizza are devoid of any nutritional value, the pizza itself is actually fairly balanced and rather nutritious. At the very least it meets several of the basic food groupings as codified by early Earth governments as guidelines towards attaining healthy nutrition."

Karma was poking through her things, rather unenthusiastically, when she heard a knock on the door.  Glancing up, the door opened as it was unlocked.  She started to stand, and burst into tears once she saw Michelle poke her head in.  "Oh my god!" Hopping over her own boxes she takes the two short steps to meet with Michelle in an embrace.

Miriana nodded in response.

- "Yes, the irony was intentional. I was not yet born at the time, but according to logs most of the strategists on board were busy trying to determine the tactical value of broadcasting a song to the enemy, or trying to find any reason whatsoever for the Micronians to choose to spend resources on this, then redoubling their efforts when they found none. The concept of culture was so alien to them that, for all intents and purposes, it would be as if an enemy that was giving the fleet trouble had suddenly become irrevocably insane. Reviewing today, i can understand why."

She tilted her head slightly, considering something Cer5ise had said.

- "Fighting is in itself an instinctual thing however, as one would live or die based on the speed of their reactions. But i will concede the point given that i still cannot see the purpose of learning the preferences that you have because it provides knowledge unrelated to battle. One does not become better at cards by going bowling."

  Michelle holds onto Karma for several long moments. "I missed you, I know Kaarle needs a few minutes of your time. I have to return to my quarters so Kaarle does not get into trouble. But once i am allowed I promise to hang out." She looks a little ashamed as she says the next part. "Because of the last mission, I have been reassigned to Kaarle's wing." her voice is just barely above a whisper now. "I'm sorry I did not do better." with that she turns to hide his eyes before standing straight. "Sir, I will report to quarters now so that you can have a few minutes with RoughRider." She smiles at Karma before she exist the room. "I'll see you on the flight deck in the morning."

Cerise considered what you had said for a moment, before replying; "In most species the will to fight is instinctual, but the technique, the ability, is not. Instinct only guides most of us to do something, not exactly what; our individual personalities decide that.

As for building relationships, yes, that is exactly what we were doing. Not, as you imply, only mating pair type relationships, but real, individual-to-individual connections that will guide those reactions, at least amongst the species where relationships are important, to put unexpected effort; effort that they didn't even know they could tap into, into helping each other to survive and thrive.

Did you know that Miriya Sterling's already stellar fighting efficiency went through the roof after she defected to join the Earth forces? That is the power of relationships."

Miriana frowned for a moment in thought, trying to place the new information.

- "But it does not guarantee it. It were those same relationships that caused Wraith to disobey orders and rescue Michelle. While keeping a pilot alive is a good thing, Command was not particularly charmed dealing with the aftermath. The results of these relationships are wildly unpredictable and they cannot be expected to have beneficial results, correct? Mrs. Sterling's skill was of such high level that she could make these calls without jeopardizing her mission objectives and Command's orders, but not everyone shares her ability."

"It is true that such relationships are not always going to have a beneficial effect on the specific military objectives of any given mission, though I would argue that it is at least as common to be beneficial as it is to be harmful. However for the survivability of the people who make up our unit, I would argue that it is extremely beneficial. For evidence of these claims, I would put forth units in the old Earth government of The United States of America. Within individual units it was quite common for the individuals to form a strong, emotional, brotherly bond; that bond strengthened them much more than it weakened them. The structure is very different, but the same principle held true amongst the Sentinels during their fight against the Regent; emotional bonds formed within small units provide a sort of motivation that simply cannot be acquired within most species in any other way.
If you prefer,or if it would make it more palatable or accessible, you could simply view this sort of exercise as one more mission that you must fulfill, because your CO deems it strategically necessary. It isn't entirely necessary that you understand, or even accept, the psychology of the various races in our unit, as long as you don't actively undermine the effort. The other members of the unit will, eventually, tend to bond to you, even if you do not form such bonds with them; and that will gain most of the benefit anyway.
If you'd like to discuss the intricacies of the psychological ramifications of these sorts of relationships, including how they impacted the career and individual mission completion of Miriya Sterling as an example, I would be happy to, though." Cerise remembers something; "So long as you have the time, of course."

- "Oh, i did see it as a CO assigned mission, if i hadn't i wouldn't even have left the Gambit."

As Cerise gave her some examples, she sighed and shrugged in response.

- "Sue, i've not once set foot on Earth. Up to a few years ago i was still serving aboard the Zentraedi cruiser of my birth, fighting the UEEF. Its history is not my history, i have never heard of these United States and the only renowned individuals i would be likely to recognize would all be Zentraedi defectors like Miriya Sterling. Who was also before my time, might i add. I have a completely different frame of reference compared to these Micronians, so discussing these details would be beneficial to my understanding of them. If you have time, of course."

Cerise starts in by relating an academic historical account of the events of the first Robotech war, including a brief introduction to pre-Robotech Earth. As she relates portions wherein the cultural/psychological isolation an naivete of the Zentraedi lead to their ultimate and/or individual defeat, she delves into the differences between the psychologies and cultures of Earthlings and Zentraedi. She also points out times where exposure to Earthling culture resulted in various personalities, including Miriya and Breetai, making the "right" or "just" choice, rather than following orders. And, of course, the history of the First Robotech War ends with Dolza's fleet arriving and the final battle between Earth's arrayed forces and Dolza's force. The only date Cerise includes is the year that acts as a milestone between pre-Robotech and Robotech eras, unless you ask specifically about what date this or that occurred on; for those she can probably come up with the year, but would probably need to reference to find out specific dates.

@Michelle
Karma didn't want to let her bestie go, but she eased up so as to not suffocate her friend, looking at Michelle as she spoke she simply caressed the younger woman's hair, almost matronly.  She replied, "I miss you to girl."

As Michelle seemed to be ashamed and turn away she put her hand on her shoulder to reassure her, "You've got nothing to worry about.  Don't worry about it, we'll make it through."

As Michelle straightened up to leave, Karma just wanted to grab and hold her again, but let her go not wanting to keep her any longer and get her in trouble.  With a heavy sigh she watched Michelle leave with Kaarle.  Sitting back down on her bunk she continued going through her things as she awaited Kaarle's return.

Upon Kaarle's return she snapped up from her bunk.  She managed a small smile in return to Kaarle's smile and added a nod.  Pursing her lips at his question, she seemed to think for a moment before answering, "Honestly Sir, I am not 100% yet, but I'm pretty sure I can fly again, and quite frankly there's only one real way to find out."

@ Mirage

When they get back to the Gambit from the Antonius Skyrah will consider for a moment. Finally she moves over to Mirage again after her and Thirteen separate. "Can, we talk?"

Miriana had been energetically taking notes throughout everything Cerise was telling her, giving her plenty of material to study from to determine the usefulness of this 'friendship' thing the violet Unicorn Spherian was teaching her about. She asked a number of details, though not all as that would leave no room for self study later, and when Cerise was done she would thank her for the lesson and leave to organize and examine her notes in her quarters.

Silas went to the mess hall to grab himself something to eat before he headed back to quarters.

When he got to quarters he walks in not realizing who it was that was in his and Karma's  room. Who ARE you! he says stopping in his tracks, regretting asking that question once he notices who she is.

feeling embarrassed, his face flushes, and without giving Karma a chance to reply back to him he runs to the head.

Karma somewhat distracted with putting away her few belongings glances up when the door to the quarters opens.  She only knew Silas by face, and never really interacted with him much before.  She was just as stunned, but didn't expect to be challenged.  It took her a second to comprehend what he was asking, but before she could say anything he was off.

Oddly enough she felt a bit embarrassed herself, as if she had invaded his private space and got caught, although this was supposed to be her room too.  She still couldn't get used to the co-ed arrangements, but it was a matter-of-fact in their military lives.  It was going to be touch, especially since he wasn't half-bad looking...

Silas walks back to his quarters after he composes himself.

Sorry about that, he says as he walks in, you caught me off guard I wasn't expecting you to be here already.

Please excuse my mess.He extends his hand out to her, im Silas Nightshade, but you can call me Pocket if you would like too.

Silas goes and sits on the chair closest to karmas bunk.

Silas decides to get ready for the evening, he takes off his shirt, exposing  his muscular flesh, with all of its tattoos, and piercings.

I hope you don't mind ma'am,  I sleep naked. He says as he goes to take of the test of his clothes.

Karma stands, uncertain why herself, when Silas walks back in.  Again, before she can say anything he apologizes and extends a hand.  She grasps the hand, feeling the strength behind it, of course, she's no slouch either. She smiles in an attempt to minimize the awkwardness for them both, "Uh, nice to meet, uh, finally meet you Silas Nightshade, or Pocket." she says rather dryly, kicking herself mentally all the while.  She seems to remember some of her manners, "And I'm Karma Murphy, as you probably already know, but you can call me Karma, unless we're on mission, then it's Night, I mean 'Roughrider'...yeah." definitely with a hint of awkward rambling, which she continually berates herself internally for displaying.


Karma sits back down on the bunk as Silas takes a seat.  Then her eyes nearly pop out of her skull in surprise as he propositions(?) her.  She can't help but blush a little, not something that happens often with her.  She can't maintain eye contact, and turns to look down at her belongings.  An awkward smirk on her face.  She wanted to say, 'I think you're hot too.' but she couldn't bring herself out of that shy schoolgirl still sometimes inside of her.  Instead, Silas seemed to take it a step further...


She glances up just as Silas is removing his shirt, stunned for a moment and not wanting to turn away she pretty much checks him out.  She felt a lot of warmth in various parts of her body now.  When he matter-of-factly threw in that he slept naked, she couldn't help herself anymore as she burst out laughing, mostly as an excuse to look away before biology took over.

She stands up suddenly as she looks around as if looking for something.  She says as if convinced, "Alright, where are the cameras?  Who put you up to this?  Hmm?  Is this going to be on BoobTube?"

Put me up to what ma'am?  Was I being to forward? What camera's? I think there might be a camera at the door, but on the otherside. Silas thinks and listens to Karma for a few minutes.

Ma'am, would you prefer that I put my clothes back on? looking down at his own body suddenly feeling a little twinge of embarrassment.

Karma, sweetheart, we have a long day tomorrow, and the next couple weeks for that matter, let's get comfortable with being around eachother.

With that Silas gets up, walks over and climbs up onto his bunk. Forgetting that he was still naked, he unintentionally have karma an unprotected view of his entire body.

Good Night Karma, he said that night, and the following week too. He also continued to climb into his bunk naked.

Honestly Karma hoped it was a practical joke, but apparently it was not.  She must've looked like a hot chili pepper by now (if she were naked too!).  She couldn't make eye contact because that meant looking directly at Silas, and the rest of him...


Karma hoped for a moment that he would get it, but when he said 'get comfortable with each other' she nearly jumped out of her skin, but managed to not show it outwardly.  'What does he mean by that??' invariably raced through her mind.  She muttered under her breath, _{"Oh sh*t."}, then looked at him to see if he heard her.  She instantly regretted it (sort of) as she got the full Morning (Nightshade?) Glory!


Karma was stuck, now that she was looking at him she couldn't stop staring as he moved so gracefully across the room and into his bunk.  It was mesmerizing in it's sensuous and seductive way, especially in it's innocence (or obliviousness) to what silly social mores Karma still clung too from her upbringing.  She slapped the bottom of her own chin as she found her mouth agape.

Oddly enough, like a piercing noise, if you are exposed to it long enough you kind of get used to it.  Or so Karma told herself she had gotten used to Silas' undraped visage, and admitted she might as well enjoy the show since it wasn't half-bad (pessimist)...

@ Skyrah

A slight smile and a nod.

"I know you are upset at me because of how I changed the plan in the simulators." She said quietly. "There are....reason why I did it. I didn't like doing it though, and if Michelle was...in a better mindset I'd of not changed things." Skyrah frowned a bit, this obviously was hard for her but not for the reasons one would think. There was obviously more to it, and that more then likely is why Skyrah frowned.

Mirage shakes her head.

"We work as a team, it is what makes us strong.  We work as winged pairs because alone we are weak, but pairing gives us versatility.  Just because the doctrine is old, does not make it unsound."

Skyrah will lead Mirage off to a place that's a bit more private. Behind one of the Veritechs, into one of the parts stores, back into the Beta, whatever.


If at any point during the speel Skyrah starts feeling the intense pain again, she will bare with it until she is done. More to show Mirage just how bad off the three GenKids are, then anything else.
