Cynthia Jane Holloway:
Okay, back. Unfortunately, my boss has left, so now I'm doing his job as well, but I can't imagine he did that much to begin with, did he?

Sure, sounds easy-peasy. It would be amusing if indeed it turned out he actually didn't do anything and there's a secret passage to a member's-only golf course/water park next door!

Huh, I guess I really know nothing about how bosses work.

Re: OOC Posts II

In reply to Count Sigismund Bathony (msg # 833):

I believe it. They said Wellcome collected millions of items in his lifetime, more than he could personally ever examine. At the time we visited, they had an exhibit on Bedlam (the hospital), some art on self-examination, plus the permanent exhibit which featured selected pieces around specific themes (birth, sex, death, illness, etc.) The torture section was, unfortunately quite small. But I got some excellent pictures of momento mori, ceremonial masks, and shamanic accoutrements, plus a whole stack of books to buy (on top of those we bought right there and hauled on the airplane).

We overnighted in Bruges, but unfortunately did not have time for the torture museum there.

Re: OOC Posts II

Hello,

A friend is running a Robotech game. He's looking for a couple players to join. They will be 1st level ORs (aka "Enlisted") in a unit that my PC is OC (aka "CO"). The game is probably going to shoot for a gritty realistic tone, considering the genre. Here is the information he posted. If interested please contact him via the game's RTJ:

Darkside Trooper:
I know I mentioned it before, but here it is again...

I'm trying to fill a few open slots in my Robotech game:
link to another game

Specifically I'm looking for two 1st level Destroid pilots to fly/drive this, the MBR-10A1 Valiant:
The MBR-10 Valiant was designed to give the UEEF the heavy hitting firepower and armor of the original Destroid designs but in a mecha that was more suited for a variety of environments that could be anticipated when operating on extraterrestrial worlds. The Valiant is capable of sustained flight on a planet with gravity similar to that of Earth and operating in space like space fighter. The mecha can survive an atmospheric reentry by slowing it’s decent with the massive engines built into its legs and be fully combat capable upon landing. The most innovative aspect of the Valiant is the replaceable arms which can be switched for a variety of weapon systems and utility devices. In an effort on the part of the UEEF to make maintenance and replacement of parts easier, the sensor head, hands and leg mounted missile launchers are identical between the MBR-10 Valiant and the first generation of Alpha veritech’s.

The first MBR-10 Valiant platoons were first fielded in 2015. They saw action against Zentraedi Malcontents on both Earth and in Space. Two variants was developed, one was the basic –A1 model and has the same sensor head unit found on the VFA-6A Alpha veritech. The second variant was a command variant and has the same sensor head unit as found on the VFA-6B Alpha veritech.

Re: OOC Posts II

Hello,

A friend is starting a Legend of the Five Rings 4th ed. RPG here on rpol.

The "L5R" setting is a historical-ish fantasy Japan with some ancient China thrown in.

Please RTJ if interested!

No PCs in the distraction vehicle, I don't think. Are you waiting for us to post? Cynthia grumps about traffic.

Perkins is a semi-PC, or at least a player-controlled NPC.

I think I can hold off until there's a post from Molly and the Count.

Re: OOC Posts II

How big is this box? Is it small enough for the Count to take it himself, or is there some expectation the women should be doing some lifting too?

In reply to Cynthia Jane Holloway (msg # 843):

The box is small but sturdy. You can also take out the Girdle and put it in something else. It's just a heavy belly-chain, so to speak.

If I put it on, does that mean I become the pharaoh's dark mistress? That sounds like it could have a lot of appeal to a dilettante.

That is actually not a bad idea, we take the box as well to decoy with if we have to. Double blind as it were.

Sure, I'll allow that. You knew the box was there, you've seen it, and so you could easily take it with the decoy car.

Re: OOC Posts II

In reply to Cynthia Jane Holloway (msg # 854):

Basically yes, for a couple reasons.

One: they left several minutes earlier, and are miles away in a crowded city.

Two: the decoy car left on a different route, going in another direction.

You may make a Listen check to hear the gunshots, certainly!

This was the plan as I understood it: send out a decoy ahead of time to draw off any pursuit. Their route is north-northwest, towards the Museum, then deke right and head east, straight for the British garrison. Meanwhile, the group with the "package" travels west to the Nile where a boat is waiting, transfer to a boat, sail down the river until close to the Museum, and then transfer to another vehicle for the last leg.

At this point things are going to plan, the decoy has drawn off the group waiting to ambush and/or pursue you. The decoy has a reasonable chance of survival but by definition it's a dangerous gambit for all those in the decoy car.
