I am running vehicle combat mainly per the optional rules in the 6th edition rulebook.

One thing which doesn't seem particularly believable is the assertion that cover, like being in a car, doesn't reduce the chance to hit for purposes of combat and spotting. Certainly untrue!

One way to incorporate cover within the bounds of the rules is to use the random hit location table in the Cthulhu Now rule book. When any location that is behind cover is struck, the bullet must first penetrate that cover to do damage.

A second way is to make a new rule: cover still doesn't affect the hit percentile but it instead adds to Dodge. 25% cover adds 5 Percentiles to target Dodge, 50% adds 10 Percentiles to target Dodge and 75% adds 15 Percentiles. A successful Dodge simply means the bullet needs to penetrate cover before affecting the target.

Is it the same danger? Like should I expect to be making that same roll again or again? Or is it more of a 'yeah, it could happen, so don't do any jump stunts right now'?

You didn't get too far. Maybe a couple hundred metres. No problem for a good swimmer! But this would require a Swim check.

I wonder what is the likelihood of there being a hang glider in the hold...

It was pretty outdated. Mainly used like a heavy netbook. No insurance, but I will probably be able to get something that works off my brother. You never know!

What also sucked was that 2 of my CoC books were lost as well. 5.6 rulebook and Cthulhu Now. Bugger!

Hi!

Do not fret. This game is not on hiatus!

The last week plus has been crazy! I have been much occupied with work, but as well being able to spend a lot more time than usual with my family. So it's been good in the latter sense, not so good due to the former.

When things calm down after this week I will be able to get back up to speed. Until then please accept my apologies and keep up your patience as we chug along through summer.

No problem at all. As an aside, I'll be at GenCon, so probably not posting. I trust that you will absolutely preserve Cynthia's life for when I return, which, unfortunately, will be two days after this giant tentacle thing just happens to be resolved.

I'm glad to see we weren't all devoured by something from the Darkness.  How far has the story progressed?  I left about the time we were in the mosque.
