     The strangest video I ever saw featured two men standing face to face with matresses wrapped around them, slapping each other in time with the music while standing on the bottom of a drained pool.

Sounds like "True Faith" by New Order. It's weird, but far from the weirdest I've seen.

One that is known for being strange would be Frontier Psychiatrist, by The Avalanches, but there are many others.

I've actually seen that one.  But the band is rather surreal itself, much like They Might Be Giants or Presidents of the United States, so a surreal video seems appropriate.
