Appearance and flavor.

the world of the open skies is a very flexible place appearance and style vary widely from place to place. In general things are a mix of early 20th century buildings, styles and lifestyles. The world is also highly stylized and artistic expression and personal style lead to wild flights of fancy in design and construction.
    Machines are combinations of gears, coils, and glowing tubes. while not advanced as our world many things you would not expect to see in a fantasy world. Automobiles are common, some powered by alcohol fuels engines, gearwerk, or even harnessed elemental creatures.
    there is no right look or style, there is no one way to explain powers or devices. in the Open skies the only limit is imagination and the ability to provide a reasonable explanation of how it fits into the world.

Machines And Devices.
Large gears, glowing crystal rods, flickering magelights, open panels and large push button controls are most common. displays are often scrolls of paper, moving pens, or wire and glass indicators moving to marks on the display to provide readouts.
   teletypes and paper printouts, provide most of the output for devices, although arcane spheres. Flickering cathode ray tubes and flat grayscale "slates that use combine arcane means to display images are common enough to be well know to folk in the larger kingdoms.

Clothing and Style:
  While each culture has it's own distinct style there is no one overarching fashion guide. sheer silks, heavy leather, and simple spun linens are just as common as glittering silver and enamel plates, glowing decorations and at time little more than tattoos and a few pieces of cloth for modesty.
  An individual might stand out when among those from another realm usually he will only be given a curious or scornful glance, and maybe spark a few whispers. seldom will dress and style cause any real difficulties. and only outright nudity will be grounds for being asked to leave or observe common decency rules.
