Re: Real life problems
*smiles* College can certainly be a lot of work, if you want to do it right. And goodness knows that Nursing can be a tough program. But very rewarding.
I know a lot of people who've done or are doing Nursing, and they love it. They are very happy with their jobs and are making good money.
Still, it's not so bad as long as you budget your time and make sure you don't procrastinate.
(actually, you can probably get away with procrastinating a bit, goodness knows that I did, but it makes your job harder *smiles*)
It's also surprising how much good information you can learn from the 'fluff'. I still remember many things from my 'electives'.
And there should be, depending on your school, plenty of counselors and tutors who can help you get settled a give you advice about what to do and how to do it.
One thing that I'd say, though, is to make sure not to underestimate your work load.
There have been many very intelligent people who cruised easily through high school, who assume that college will be much the same, and are horribly surprised when it's more difficult.
You can do it, I'm sure of it, but you'll just have to pay attention and make sure your study skills are up to the task. It's all about delegating time to do your work, and not be overwhelmed by all the new experiences and the cool and wonderful things that college offers.
I'll admit, I let myself be distracted by the wonders of Boston, where I went to school, as well as gaming with my friends. I wish I'd knuckled down a bit more, concentrating more on my work than I did. I still graduated, with a degree and lots of experiences that I still draw upon, but it could have been much more if I'd worked a little harder.
