Re: bigehauser's Room

As long as it isn't a slow dance where I get groped, I'm good.   :)

*Gropes just because*

*Puts on salsa music*

Don't be weird, we could have danced Tango, like they did in The Addams Family

*laughs*   getting groped by you is fine.   Getting groped by fire sounds much less fun.

oooh

could I have groped you with fire?

won't that mean you start to burn? which means less things to grope

*smiles*  That's why I'm trying to avoid it.

I'm much more of a gentle minded gropee.

Re: bigehauser's Room

Yes, it was very melodramatic and silly, but fun.

And the Seventies had its own style of dress and hair that is fun to mock today, though it was very big at the time.
(I suspect that we'll all make fun of ourselves in thirty years, or have kids to do it for us.  )

ah yes

I am looking forward to being made fun of

and laugh with them about liking the music we liked back when they were huge

and well, I hope the next generation of music will be better than what we have now...

Re: bigehauser's Room

*chuckles*
A lot of my friends and coworkers say "the music and television sbows are just terrible compared to when WE were kids!", and that's just silly.
There's good music and television and movies in every generation, but so many of us get too attached to the ones we grew up with.  We can't be objective about quality.

(and, I realize now that some, if not most, of my most beloved shows and music from my childhood, when  seen through adult eyes, are actually pretty terrible, too.  *smiles*)

Re: bigehauser's Room

Most kids shows are made for kids

I like the intelligent ones, that is made for kids, aaaand has a second layer, one for the adults

like all the disney movies, they all flirt with some part of adulthood that kids know it funny, but not quite why

Like Aladdin in the beginning, when he runs away from the guards and runs through a house filled with women in veils and they say they don't want him...

yes, it was a brothel or harem... and they didn't want hims cause he was poor, and this, is what is extra fun, two layers of jokes

Re: bigehauser's Room

Many cartoons made in America in the 80s and 90s seemed to be made by adults for themselves.  :)
They seem more intelligent and even a bit subversive, sometimes making fun of the cartoon genre itself.

Those I like.  :)

I know the feeling.   I only see about 10% of the shows I want to see, so I know I'll never catch up on all the dramas and adventure shows I've missed.
