Re: Resource - Game Advertisements

I'm aware that the consensus here is for freeform games so I don't expect to raise the interest of anyone here but I'll post it anywhere (for the lulz)

The Guardians of Silverkeep - link to another game

In an age long gone, when the Stewards of Creation protected Luna's consort from the ever shifting tides of chaos, a fortress was raised in the form of five islands. That archipelago was called Silverkeep. In that age of glory, it was home to many warriors ready to sacrifice their lives for the safety of Creation. For many years, the Exalted stood guard on the far edges of Creation to confront any monstrosity birthed by the chaos. Always did Silverkeep stood to mend their wounds, repair their armour and give rest to their armada.

Yet those days have long passed. Disaster struck the Exalted and Silverkeep lay abandoned for centuries. The soil grew with new plants, the stones crumbled to dust, life took root in the Exalts absence. Yet the Wyld did not forget. It gnawed at the edges of stability, patient in its hunger.

With its approach imminent, the Silver Pact can no longer ignore their former pride to fade into memory. They have tasked promising Chosen of the Moon to claim Silverkeep as their territory. Once again, the bastion is in the hands of the Stewards who now have to face the Wyld on one side, the natives on their own land and all that roams the seas above and below.

The future of the West is now in their hands...

In the unlikely event that a game about shapeshifting demigods protecting the world from creatures from beyond chaos on the edges of the world's ocean anime-style, just know that this game uses the Exalted system but I don't require people to know it by heart. I've run games with people who never heard of a game before and it did not stop them from playing for years.

If you're interested, hit me up in my room for details...

HENSHIN!

Henshin Legends: The Mystics-link to another game

Have you ever wanted to be a hero? Have you ever wanted to save the normal world from things they could never hope to overcome? You ever want to leave normal life behind with a couple magic words and enter a world of powerful magi, amazing battles, and creatures you never thought possible!? You can do this and much more in this Roleplay! Just one thing...

    Are you ready?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I hope this intro wasn't to cheesy for you. ;) Anyway I'm recruiting for a Super Sentai and Anime inspired game. It is a modern fantasy game where you can either play a superhero or a villain. So if this sounds good to you I hope to see you soon.

Re: Resource - Game Advertisements

ADULT:-

link to another game

Nikuto Shirikon No Akumi
(Flesh And Silicon Nightmares)

Game Link (ADULT):- link to another game
Game Wiki:- http://wiki.rpol.net/?id=57322

Date: 2136
Location: Hinan Sho, Cydonia, Mars
Population: Approx 120,000
Breakdown:50% Japanese, 30% British, 10% Chinese, 10% Other

Welcome to heaven and hell, chummer! Hinan Sho (Haven) is the first major city to be built on the newly terraformed Mars by Kenchiku Ltd. This small yet bustling place has everything the aspiring colonist needs for a pleasurable life on Mars.

Stay at the Rivendell Hotel or buy a slave from the Seductive Sirens slave house. Gamble your life away at the Ace of Spades or get your rocks off at the Black Orchid. Have a massage at the White Lotus. Anything can be bought or sold at the Market.

The city has a dark side. The vast criminal network is run by two powerful Yakuza clans dominating the underworld. Sinister company officials pull the strings of the city's government and police force. Drugs, prostitution and illegal BTL chip use is rife. Then there are the dark horrors lurking on the edge of reason waiting for their time to rise up against us.

Yep. Welcome to heaven and hell!

This game is still in the design phase. It has been set up to playtest a system called ARPS (Another Role Playing System) that is being developed by JUther. It will be open to players when I have received and digested the system rules and I have enough game material to get the game going. Right now I am looking for people to help with the following tasks. It doesn't matter if one person can do everything or if several people each can do different things.

1. I need someone, preferable female, to act as a co-gm and create and run any female characters needed in the game. This is both to interact with players and NPCS created by me.

2. I need people willing to come up with some cool races for the game. Races in this game will be very close to human but with some differences. I am basing the horror element of this game on lovecraftian themes so the tone should be dark and weird. Other races should either be genetically modified humans or human / lovecraftian alien hybrids.

3. I need people willing to build the game world. Come up with new locations, describe existing ones and build upon the government and politics of the solar system in which it's set.

4. I need someone with an intimate knowledge of Japanese language and modern Japanese culture to help with the Japanese aspect of the game so that I don't come across as a total gaijin.

To apply either rmail me or RTJ the game itself.

In order to apply fill out the following form::-

Age Statement

The very first AND MOST IMPORTANT thing is to include an age statement with your RTJ. Even if you just want to lurk I need this. No one will be accepted into the game without one.

The age statement must take the form below:

I am <XX> years old, born in <MM>/<YY>. It is legal for me to view adult content in my current place of residence. I have also read and understood the general rules of the game, listed herein. I also know that there will be explicit descriptions of sex and violence in the game and that I should not join if I am offended by either.

Your Details

The next thing I would like off you is some information about you. A lot of it is optional but I would like you to offer up something as it gives me an idea of who you are as a person and helps to build up a good set of people who will get along well with each other:-

Your RL Name (Optional):
Your RL Gender (Optional but preferred):
(priority will be given to players who play same-gender characters)
Your RL Nationality / Time Zone :(Optional)

Tell me a little about yourself (optional)

Experience

Firstly tell me what task you wish to take on (co-gm, race builder, world builder, Japanese advisor, all of these, etc).

Secondly tell me a bit about your experience in the particular task.

Lastly give me a writing sample of two or three paragraphs. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece. I'm just looking for a good grasp of spelling and grammar and evidence to back up your age statement.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Re: Resource - Game Advertisements

This isn't mine but I told my friend I would advertise for her.

link to another game

Please read all of ad and disclaimers!

Tryphoria

Tryphoria, the kingdom of kings. It is long rumored that the history of Tryphoria outreaches and outdates that of the court of King Arthur.  The blood lineage traced through each heir.

With the harsh king no longer in power the kingdom is ruled with a more kind hand instead of an iron fist. Will you support the new rule or continue to fight for the former monarch's vision.

Think about it.  Do you believe the kingdom should be powerful, mighty and support the former king?  Do you stand firm in your beliefs?  Or are you from the villages fighting for survival against the oppression that still runs deep in the veins of many citizens?

Choose a side and fight for what you believe is right.

Equality or the power of men....

With a new ruler in place with you try to help fix the kingdom and bring balance or try to restore the old reign of the king?

We are looking for many roles. Very open setting.

This is a medieval and fantasy game so please read the RTJ and all fields are needed to join!

Looking forward for new players to boost the game and enjoy the current festival.

18 plus game so please read the RTJ so it will be easier to be admitted.

PLEASE READ RTJ!

THIS IS NOT D&D or a VAMPIRE GAME!

Do not bring characters what will not fit. I am open to many but please don't try and bring oddities here.

No over 1 hundred or million years old.

I will allow magic and such but please read RTJ before asking!

Hope to meet you!

Horrors Beyond Life's Edge (ADULT)

link to another game

H.P. Lovecraft:
I have seen the dark universe yawning
Where the black planets roll without aim,
Where they roll in their horror unheeded,
Without knowledge, or lustre, or name.

Darkwood Asylum, 1892

Am I insane? The legal definition of insanity is:-

quote:
Mental illness of such a severe nature that a person cannot distinguish fantasy from reality, cannot conduct her/his affairs due to psychosis, or is subject to uncontrollable impulsive behavior.

So perhaps I am insane. But what is fantasy and what is reality? I thought I once knew. Until I saw what lurks within the shadows beyond conscious thought. Psychosis? Yes perhaps I do exhibit some Psychotic behaviour. I cannot walk on a clear night where the stars are visible. Lakes and trees scare me. The moon to me is an evil, mocking face.

Impulsive? No. I'm not impulsive. Not any more. Inaction is the best form of survival. Curiosity did not just kill the cat. It tore out its eyes, ripped out its heart and sent its mind screaming into a tortured abyss in which it drowned in its own horror.

My 'gift' brought me to this room. This metal cage and iron manacles. But it's ok. Locked in this room I am as safe as I ever will be from the horrors of the dark universe out there. Am I insane? No. I'm probably the sanest person on Earth.

Each have been touched by the beyond. Some were born with it. Some just developed it one day. Each harnessed it in a different way. Perhaps they saw the future in dreams. Perhaps they could move objects with their minds. Perhaps they saw the spirits of the dead. Some would say they are gifted. But they may argue that they are cursed. Their talents will bring them together, send them to dark places where people should never have to tread. There they will find and face horrors that no one should have to face. Will they stand against the horrors that lurk beyond life's edge? Or will the horrors consume them and rain triumphant madness upon the world?

This game is set in Victorian England and follows a group of 'gifted' individuals recruited into a clandestine organisation known as the Shadow Walkers. Players will begin the game having no knowledge of this organisation. They will be struggling with their 'gifts', trying to survive. Circumstances will lead them to the Cornish town of Darkwood and their recruitment into the Shadow Walkers.

I am looking for 3-5 Players and I will be keeping it small. Players will NOT be accepted on a first come, first served basis. It may take some time for your RTJ to be accepted / rejected.

This game is still in the design phase. More will be added to the wiki as time goes on.

The Infinate Vortex (ADULT)

link to another game

The Doctor. The Lonely god. Dr. Who? This name once rang throughout the universe. He was a Galifreyan, the greatest Timelord that ever lived. Many loved him, Many more feared him.

But his name has now been erased from the universe by his own hands. The name the Doctor no longer exists to the majority of people out there.

And the rest of Gallifrey? Timelocked during the end of the Timelord / Dalek war by the Doctor himself. Their leaders, including Rassilon, further imprisoned in a time bubble of their own creation along with The Master who, despite his madness, sacrificed himself in the end to prevent hell from being visited on the universe.

So like the Doctor the word Timelord has also been lost to myth and ledgend.

Still, somewhere in time and space a human being with a false memory and false life goes about their business unaware of who and what they really are. Nearby an antique pocket watch waits to be opened...

Episode 1 - The Timelord, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Arkham, M.A., 2012:

Kimberley Pemberton, Psychic Investigator, had been investigating strange noises and movement in Locton House, an old seventeenth centuary building. When she got there she found a strange man called Chaeson Meyers who emerged from a wardrobe. Chaeson had the odd quirk of finding and walking through 'doors' in space-time. Believing him to be a burglar she threatens to call the police when suddenly a sound like breathing or onrushing air can be heard along with cursing and a man's voice saying "...f&^%$£*g disobediant hunk of junk. Materialise for f&^$s sake..."

Just as they were reeling from that incident Cheason sensed something bad coming. As they quickly leave something materialised out of the corner of the room. vaguely resembling a cross between a bat and a mosquitto, it's alien snout extended into a large appendage that was half tongue and half proboscis. This was followed by an elongated and muscular body, wolf-like in its bulk and shape. The whole creature dripped a sickly blue puss that hissed and corroded everything it dripped onto. It lept out of the window at them but Chaeason suddenly saw a space-time door and pulled Kimberly through it.

Arkham, M.A., 1692:

Sarah Locton is at home with her mother, Elizabeth when a strange man introducing himself as Hayden Wolfe arrives and says he is staying for a few days. Elizabeth sends Sarah to get some bread and when she returns she hears a whoosing sound in the bedroom and hayden's voice saying "...f&^%$£*g disobediant hunk of junk. Materialise for f&^$s sake..." When she confronts them they are in the bedroom and Hayden is pointing an odd silver wand at her wardrobe. They ook worried and usher Sarah out of the house. As they do so a hideous, alien monstrousity with a large panther like body and a head that was part bat-like and part insect-like bursts out of the window.

Some of the townsfolk were outside, going about their daily business. Upon seeing the creature people started screaming. A courier had arrived, carrying a small package under his arm. He had been about to knock the door when the monstrosity appeared. He dropped the package and turned to run but the creature impaled him with its needle like proboscis. The townsfolk watched in horror as the man deflated like a balloon as all his vital juices were sucked up like juice through a straw.

"The watch! Get the watch", Hayden shouted and ran for the package. The creature reared ready to strike but Liz intercepted it. As it struck her she held out her arms and began to glow with a strange golden light.

"No! What are you doing?", Hayden cried but the woman was changing inside the light. Taking on different faces, different forms. She turned back and smiled sadly at Sara and Hayden.

"It's the only way to stop this thing, Dabbler, and you know that. Take good care of each other"

Liz's final form was that of a beautiful young woman with midnight black hair and eyes like sapphires. They she exploded in a burst of golden light which not only consumed her but consumed the alien monstrosity as well.

Hayden finally retrieves the watch and gave it to Sarah who opened it. It was revealed that the pocket watch was part of a chameleon arc. Sarah was a timelady known as The Teller and Hayden was really a time lord from another universe known as The Dabbler. They had been running from the alien creatures ever since Sarah had rescued Hayden and Liz (now identified as The Dabbler and another Timelady whos name wasnt mentioned) from the other Universe.

Meanwhile Chaeson and Kimberly emerge from the space-time door into the nearby church during a sunday service. The four are all captured and imprisoned, facing trail for witchcraft. They manage to escape by a mixture of Kimberly's lockpicking skills, Teller's mind control ability and Dabbler's speed and combat skills. They get back to Sarah's house where she calls her TARDIS back and the four escape in it.

Episode 2 - Mr. Celluloid

With the start of Episode 2 I am looking for a few players to play a team of psychic investigators sent to investigate the weird goings on in an old movie theatre. One or two of these PC's may become assistants and travel with the Timelord and Timelady in the future but for now I just need Players for this one episode.

quote:
"When the pain is great, when the mind breaks and the soul cries out in anguish. That is when the veil tears. That is when they shall pass amoungst us. By sorrow shall you know them. They will come with fear and madness in their wake. They will look into your hearts and conjure up all your demons to torture and abuse your mind just as they will torture and abuse your bodies. Your suffering will be their  sustenance. Your sorrow their wine. They shall feast on your pain and insanity and when they are done with you nothing shall remain."

- Passage from "Servants Of The Old Gods", The Sselthilllisss, chapter two.

It is said that the reach of the Queen is always farther than you expect. Whilst Urioth was one of the few Border Systems that enjoyed autonomy from the Empire it was still frequented by some of the more jaded members of Imperial aristocrasy. It was a place where anything could be obtained, for a price. A strange place where less hostile Ddraxall warriors play cyber chess with exiled Janae workers, whilst Icarian jackheads slot the most disturbing BTL chips into their heads in a vain attempt to escape the banality of their futile existences. You can get an Edener pleasure slave here that will satisfy your every whim. Of course she is likely to be a normal human with some genetic modifications but who cares when you're soaked in Ilnarian frostbite vodka or high from smoking Yat'hallian vision leaves?

It is for this reason that the RSS ShadowStalker waited for the Freedom's Refuge to make an outsystem jump before pursuing. Any other system and the ShadowStalker would have just gunned her down and any ship that came between them but Urioth attracted so many people on both sides of the Queen's will that to do so here could end up with one the Queen's hounds being given a bloody nose before it could tear the fox apart.

The advanced scanners aboard the ShadowStalker recorded the gravimetric waves generated by the ship's jump bubble just before it opened the tunnel and calculated the destination and eta of its prey. The Zorn System. A four day jump for a class three drive. Zorn was supposedly a dead system. One of the many dead systems on the border of Imperial space that marked the beginning of the infamous 'Dead Zone' - An area of emptiness and ruin left after the Third Intergalactic War. No doubt a secret base had been hastily erected there. The ShadowStalker fired up its warp engines and set course for the system at Warp 7, timing its speed so that it would arrive a day ahead of its prey. The hunt was almost over and another group of losers who thought they could defy the will of her eternal Majesty would be wiped off the face of the galaxy, like a speck of dirt.

Players Wanted

The players will all initially be crew of a starship known as Freedom's Refuge. It is a non-military vessel and so feel free to be creative with your character concepts, but you should all be useful in some way, either as part of the crew of a starship, or as a passenger with specialist skills. Suggested crewmebers are:-

Captain
Pilot
Engineer
Medic
Security
Communications
Catering

I don't expect all roles to be filled with players nor do I require all players to operate the ship. The common theme is that they are a group of political 'dissidents' being hunted by a corrupt empire run by an insane and cruel ruler that is worshiped as a goddess by the rest of the galaxy. Think of the Star Wars Galactic Empire on steroids but with no organised rebellion against them.

Very early on the game the crew will have to abandon ship and take refuge on an unidentified vessel found adrift in space. That is where the game will begin and that is where the horrors will slowly be revealed ;-)

Please look through the website so you have an idea of the universe that this game is set in. You may play any of the races listed on the site or you may create your own, but please if you are creating your own try to stick to the 'feel' of the universe that the game is set in. I also reserve the right to use any material you present on the website and possibly in future games set in the same universe.

Players will NOT be accepted on a first come, first served basis. I will pick a good 'match' of characters. Preference will be given to male characters played by lords and female characters played by ladies.
