*grins*  New Jersey has some nice areas, believe it or not.   It's just that those areas won't let Reality TV crews film there.

hmmm...

and here I thought douchebags loved loud colored shirts...

also, the word sweater, it annoys me

sweat is icky, to sweat, a person that is a sweater...

so, is a sweater a shirt that is meant to absorb sweat?

Re: Zephydel's Room

*grins*   I think it depends on the kind of douchebag.
(unless you're accusing me of being a douchbag?)

And I understand about the word sweater.  It's one of those words that doesn't seem very well thought out, and perhaps named by someone who also didn't like them.

I only accuse people I see on the beach for douchebags, especially if they're behaving as such...

few douchbags hang online

I like commenting on words thought, so one never knows, maybe it was a nice word at some point

In reply to CuteSue (msg # 71):

True, I suppose the annoying people online have another name besides douchebag, though I've seen it fit on occasion.

He originally intended meaning of the word was fairly normal,  but people always get uncomfortable around bodily functions, so using it as an insult works to make them more so.

uncomfortable around bodily functions?

a in what, men can't handle hearing about how much or little a woman's period was, or how odd or.. details like this?

makes people uncomfortable...?

and still men think a picture of their penis is the best compliment they can pay a woman... (Which isn't true btw)

In reply to CuteSue (msg # 73):

*chuckles*   I've yet to meet the woman who's impressed by the "text-wang".

It's part of the religious teaching that saturated far to much if America that bodily functions, especially female ones, were never to be discussed in "polite society".   It's better now than it used to be in my parent's time, but it lingers on.

Re: Zephydel's Room

Yeah, I've heard about the ridiculous american way of never using the right words for penis or vagina...

and the even more ridiculous system, of the fact that beautiful women doesn't use the toilet, or fart.. or whats up with that?

Ladies are like men, but has more manners, but they make it like ladies never have to take a shit?

Re: Zephydel's Room

Yes, I blame the Puritans.   We had a very long period, which is still kind of going on, where the "Moral Christian Majority" decided what was right and wrong, and encouraged ladies to be perfect and virtuous and encouraged people not to talk about personal matters, especially bodily functions.   It's one of the reasons that fart and toilet jokes are so popular, due to the long standing taboo against them.
(yes, kind of ironic, but very normal)

We have been taught to be ashamed of our bodies and bodily functions by groups in power (or who are just very loud) who believe it's sinful.

Re: Zephydel's Room

I remember watching a documentary on human sexuality and it stated that Victorian era traditions have made most of the West into prudes.  It was contrasting western practices and taboos to those in asia.

Gawd...I feel like such a nerd sometimes.

did you know that in the fifties, they solved 'hysterics' by having a doctor give them orgasms?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female_hysteria

But yes, no one is a nerd, one is just curious

or well, if one has to be a nerd, I iz happy one is :)

Re: Zephydel's Room

*laughs*   Yes, I've been told that the 50s was 'the golden age' of America, as long as you were a white, straight man, preferably with lots of money.
(or some other kind of person who thought white straight men should be in charge).

But I presume that in thirty years, they'll look back on our present as 'a prudish time'.

I am glad, though, that sexual and other societal attitudes get more relaxed and liberal all the time.

Re: Zephydel's Room

shall we say, it is good it gets more liberal

but I want one rule to stay, never a age mixed sexual relation ship as in one so much younger they still in kindergarden...

cause that is and should always stay a crime

same sex relationshp and marriage, no problem, I don't even understand why people are so against it?

Love is and will always be love (Except when a child, they do understand love, but not the other part of a relationship)

Yes.  My rule is: As long as it's Consenting Adults,  it should be good.

I'm also good with keeping the age of consent at about eighteen.  Not enough kids are ready for it, even at 17 or 16, especially if some horny adult gets involved.
