I'm not so sure, they did the same thing as Japan did, refused to evolve

or accept new things

Only way to stay alive, is to embrace changes

not all changes, but some

Re: CuteSue's Room

I'm no expert, but I was thinking that the Ottoman empire, especially at the height of its power, was surprisingly secular.  It's only the oppression and meddling from the west that's really brought out the fanaticism and fundamentalism of the Middle East.   Though perhaps i'm romanticizing the past.

The Middle East during the Middle Ages, give or take a century or two, was a time of fantastic learning and advancement.   The Middle East was instrumental in inventing or perfecting many kinds of sciences, like medicine and astronomy, as well as art and philosophy.

Japan is still very xenophobic, not welcoming many outsiders inside its borders, but it's still adapting pretty well, becoming a leader in technology and science.  They have a ways to go socially, but it's a start.

I don't know too much either

but all places and times have invented something of use

and been an asshat about something, it's called learning

it's when the mistakes done in the past, keeps happening, that it's sad

But I think, all that cause harm, to cause harm, will have their bad returned, if that makes any sense

cause bad = be hated

Re: CuteSue's Room

Breast-reduction surgery happening the 26th of February

I'm so over the moon happy

it's ridiculous

it took me 5 years of bombarding doctors and physical therapists to make people taking me seriously

they have been a problem for 9 years, but I was hoping they'd stop growing, they never seem to do that thought

I have a cup I, that is i as in india

and in american sizing it's an cup H, h as in hotel

No, they do not look like the porn stars boobs, as mine are naturally this large, ergo they hang and look a right mess really, and are always in the way, can't do anything which has my hand forwards, like work-out using arms lifting upper body off floor (whatever that's called)

Swimming sucks, as they cause abrasions if I swim in the wrong way

Good luck with the surgery.

I have no idea how large H cup breasts are.  I'm almost afraid to google it.

Re: CuteSue's Room

well, Pamela Andersson had a G in the 90s, and her were smaller than mine is, it's just, mine are all naturelle

so they hang like balloons filled with water, as plastic surgeried look like glued on tennis-balls

just take my word for it, they look good in a bra, and terrible out of it, cause they hang to my stomach, and I'm a young person, so they shouldn't hang, but... they do..

Man, it's been a long time since I've been here. The last conversation was Pam Anderson's breast size and features? Really? I think you guys can do better than that. :P

We're all about running the gambit between high brow and low brow, and everything in between.    :)

Nothing is off limits.

Sue, I hope your surgery went well.

Surgery went excellent...

Except for the almost dying 14 days later then, I mean... It wasn't the surgery's fault I now have a gaping wound in my newly operated breast, it was more of an after complications fault...

Anyway, I have my halloween dress sorted already :D

Re: CuteSue's Room

the wound won't heal, so sadly it's not sorted

I walk around with loads of wound protective film, gel in the wound to help it keep alive and antibiotics so it won't infect..

the doctors are stumped, they have never seen anything like this before

so my halloween costume is to just place an ax in the hole and walk around bleeding all over the place

*chuckles*   That sounds like your sense of humor.  I was thinking something zombie related.  :)

I'm so sorry to hear about it, though.  That's terrible to get surgery you need and then have it backfire.   I hope they can figure it out.   With a world full of doctors, it should be doable.

Re: CuteSue's Room

I assume it'll heal

there is no other option, not that can enter my brain at least

Sadly the idiot doctors got so concentrated on the huge hole in my chest that they forgot about the nipple...

So now they have destroyed the nipple, so one more thing they suggested can be corrected with cosmetic surgery, cause they messed up...

*Cries*

Everything just piles up to make me sooo tired... So tired

the doctor was supposed to be Finlands best surgeon....

I am just weird, his assistant surgeon told me they'd done the procedure on hundreds upon hundreds of patients, I'm the first they've had any problem with...

And they have no clue as to why it happened

Ouch!  Yes, it always seems that we are the "one in a million" that goes wrong, eh?

It's got to be frustrating.

Re: CuteSue's Room

I'm used to shit going wrong

I knew the risks about the surgery, but for some odd reason, this one, never crossed my mind, this one wasn't mentioned anywhere in any "risks associated with this surgery, things I looked up"

but if I have to be the medical curiousity, then I will make damn sure I will beat the healing time (should be 3 months) and I will document it all, so that these bloody doctors have a clue what to do, if it happens again, to someone else

I don't feel like I'm one in a million, but if I am, there is a few other people out there, just like me

there is 7 billion people....

*smiles*   You're very tough, so I have no doubt you'll heal up well.   You're too stubborn not to.  :)

Still, feel free to vent here whenever you'd like, my friend.

Any progress is a good thing.   And showering with an injury is always a pain.  I remember when I had stitches on my leg, I had to wear a garbage bag on my leg for weeks.

Re: CuteSue's Room

I've had the healing process proceed so far that I am now allowed to shower with the wound open, ergo no plastic no protective anything. As running water heals.

It feels extremely wrong to wash inside the wound too, as I am told to stick my fingers inside to wash carefully. Thankfully not that deep anymore, but it's still inside my own body, in an area one shouldn't be able to stick anything inside

It is almost making me not want to do it, but it has to be done, to help the healing

Re: CuteSue's Room

I know what you mean.  It feels like just the opposite of what you should do.  Like you're picking at a scab or poking at a wound.
My wife got a staph infection a few  years ago, and they had to cut her arm open to drain it.  I had to help her change the dressing on the open wound.  It wasn't quite as bad as what you have to do, but still felt pretty weird to stuff a tear in her arm full of gauze.

Re: CuteSue's Room

my doctor and nurse assumed I'd be able to do it by myself, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been, it's pointing downwards, the wound. And to try and fill it with some gel, wound gel to keep the area clean and moist so it won't scab over

wouldn't have been possible

it'd just come out, and been a mess

and it's snowing today, so today it won't feel so bad having to stay inside, away from all the awakening bugs and bacteria that used to be hidden in the snow

the sunny days it feels like I wanna climb on walls

Re: CuteSue's Room

If you're an active person, staying in one place to recover can drive you crazy.  :)

I'm more of a home body, loving to stay inside, but even I got a little claustrophobic after a month of healing from my colon surgery.
And a complicated recovery, after a complicate surgery, can be especially bothersome, since you're already tired and wanting nothing more than to rest without worrying about you've already gone through.

Believe me, I can sympathize.

Re: CuteSue's Room

I believe you can

I have been resting for too long, I loved to take 3 hour walks, and just walk around looking at stuff

I can technically walk, but the surface has to be hard, if it gives way even a little, it hurts, cause it stretches some skin that is stuck to the wound, and as the wound is open...

it's just not worth the pain
