No! Not at all. Players for Lina and Tim are still active. I pinged Captain Kim to see if he's up for posting. I still talk regularly to Jimmy's player and there's every chance he could return. I also pinged Andy but he's more of a forlorn hope.

Anyways, I don't mind small groups. Heck, if I have one interested player I'll continue PDing! If you don't mind a further slight delay I could always drum up some more players.

An assault on the ship would almost certainly be a 1-way trip. But it's the one element the Krell absolutely cannot afford to lose.

That being said as many PCs as wants to can go. If anyone does volunteer, then I will add SCUBA qualification for free.

Looks like you guys are getting some reinforcement! Weaver has pulled strings to send you a demo expert and combat swimmer to assist in sinking the ship along with Flash. With Mt. Rainier about to blow the Project can't spare any more. Plus, they want to keep the fact there are unsecure nukes lying around just in case some Rebel (or Soviet) dissident gets some ideas about finishing the War once and for all.

I'm getting the new player read-in now.

GM asked me to join this game and it turns out I’m going on a near suicidal mission….

Will try to get a background done up soon but Ralph is a Vietnam vet who did 3 tours and was frozen in 1975.

This is my first foray with this game system/setting but Tony has been a player in a number of games I have run here on RPOL over the years.

As a note, Project personnel are allowed a personal allowance kit the size of a shoe box. It can contain anything within reason (generally no explosives or diamonds/precious metals, etc.). Favourite items include photos, a sports team ball cap, small musical instrument, binoculars, a tightly-rolled T-shirt, a book, your Ka-Bar, etc..

More practical choices include a suppressed pistol (or even just a suppressor for your Hi-Powers) and AN/PVS-7 NVGs to replace the older Project-issue AN/PVS-5s.

I added some missing details like the MG at the main gate, the generator and the scale to the map.

Remember, the 40mm grenades and Armbrusts have a minimum arming range of 30m.

Full stop. This is not the plan.


My group Bravo is tasked with destroying the HQ tent, the two Krell tents and the two guard posts on the East end of the island, plus clearing the gate on the North wall. To do that we WILL be throwing CS grenades, thermite, smoke and frags.

Alpha group is tasked with freeing the prisoners and planting the demo charge. That doesn't require CS or Thermite, although the grenades burning through the wiring is a brilliant move we should do. It does require the two Armbrust launchers, to use against the two guard posts.

I've already stated I need three thermite grenades AT LEAST and you need two, so having only 3 in the satchel is inadequate. You have the satchel in the wrong group. There's some planning that's been ignored in this assignment.

I totally agree, the plan should have been laid out as above in the first place by the players so there were no misunderstandings on anyone's part.

Nevertheless I was happy to help out as best I could so you'll please forgive me if I had to guess at what I thought you meant and got it wrong (as is quite usual).

Nothing has been done (check the IC thread!) so please feel free to repost the plan (I suggest you copy-paste with your desired corrections?) so that we may proceed with confidence, as soon as possible.

You can move the grenade satchel and gas masks to the correct group. Leaf should probably fit in to your plans somewhere as she is the only one going along who is fluent with Amerinds other than using tactical hand signals (which, oddly, they are quite familiar with). Jimmy can also translate, after a fashion, but he's not going along. It also goes without saying that if any captured Morrow Project electronics are found (particularly radios/scramblers, Autonav units, computers etc.) are to be destroyed using Thermite if you cannot recover and remove them.

And his sacrifice will be remembered. Command is keeping this close to their chest! I guess it won't hurt anything if the other players know, although his mission won't really intersect with theirs.

If no one uses the M16/M203 it will go with Charlie.

Hello everyone,

I'll give everyone a chance to post. (I'm curious if you are taking the M16/M203 or not, mainly.) Then it's on to the climax of The Final Watch. Just so everyone knows, in the original playtests back in the 80's some groups succeeded, others were TPK'd and failed. In other words, this was from an era where failure was an option!

Likewise, the gloves are off here. This is a hyper-realistic game, super deadly. Weight rules and encumbrance have been changed to an earlier edition (3rd):

Multiply STR by 3.5kg, then divide by 2 (or else multiply STR by 1.75kg).

This is the Maximum Basic Load weight which may be carried without penalty. E.g. The average team member's STR is 20. They may carry 35kg without an encumbrance penalty.

The more encumbered you are, the fewer Actions you may take. Every additional full 3.5kg is -2 to current DEX (not Action). If DEX reaches 0 you may take only 1 Action per turn (DEX cannot go negative). E.g. the average team member's carried weight before being encumbered is 35kg. Average Project personnel DEX is 20. Therefore they can carry a maximum of 35 additional kilos before they are reduced to 0 DEX and 1 Action.


Generally, you can carry around 35kg without losing any Actions (see below). This will usually equate to your weapons load plus basic issue without penalty. However, adding PASGT helmet and vest will likely put you over unless you remove some items. Your basic Project ResistWeave coveralls are already a tough Para-Aramid fibre that provides a degree of ballistic protection roughly equal to Level I body armour.

Sorry, I've been gone.  I've back and ready to go.  If nobody else wants the M-16/203 combo, Lina can take it instead of her carbine.  What skill covers that?  Special Weapons?

Edit.   Disregard that.  Pendergrass mentioned that he was going to use it for the guard towers.

Great to see you again!

Grenade Launcher is a specialty of Artillery. All MP personnel have basic training in these weapons. Even if you put no training points (skill percentiles) into it you therefore use it at your base level (2xAWA).

Elliot has his HK69 GL, I believe. If not Lina then Captain Kim is also a good candidate as he has Artillery skill (GL is a specialty of Artillery but can be used at the general skill level).
