The Chronicles of Stagfall

As High Magister of these lands, and having little else to do to occupy my time, I have undertaken to chronicle the remarkable rise of these lands and my own humble part in them. Long Live Lord Girard Viticus Manes, Baron of the Greenbelt!

Humbly,
Ayles Greencloak, High Magister of Stagfall, the Barony of The Greenbelt

4712 Absalom Reckoning

Sarenith [June] - Arodus [August]
By their own account, Lord Girard, Lady Desra, and Lady Francine arrived in the Greenbelt in this time, wherein they proceeded to explore the lands.

Rova
On the twenty-second of Rova, the autumnal equinox, a holy day of Erastil, the Barony of the Greenbelt was founded. Its initial holdings were built as the castle of Stagfall on the ruins of the Stag Lord's keep. A few homes for the first migrants were built, as well as a road up to the crossing of the three rivers, where some farms were built in the fertile soil near the rivers. I just heard that a delegation of druids from Sevenarches are making a 600-odd mile pilgrimage to witness the statue and temple we have discovered...

November
Proven Rezbin, one of that duo that works for the Lords Trio ("As I have taken to calling them when they are out of sight), has apparently gotten married to a cartographer/priestess of Erastil by the name of Latricia. Mazeltov.

December
Nothing really important I think?

January
Good weather!

February
Bandits from Pitax Defeated by Lord Manes. That will teach that scum!

March
Um, I think there might have been an attempt on Lady Desra's life, but otherwise Nothing

April
Good Weather! I love spring - it is my favorite season.

May
Assassination attempt from Pitax failed on Bryce Ostlander. I was on hand in case they needed me! (They didn't)

June
Opened relations with the kingdom of Hymbria, who generously donated a park. From what I can gather, this is a kingdom of outcast/bandit elves who specialize in poisons that they sell to Daggermark. And they have giant killer bees. Sweet Erastil, elves are creepy.

July
Good trade with Sevenarches! According to Oleg we made a lot of money?

August
Nothing at all. Oh sweet Erastil, it is too goddamn hot. Why did I learn Silent Image instead of Endure Elements? Why is life so cruel?

September
Repelled bandits again! Because apparently Mivon's learning curve flatlines.

October
Nothing. Zip. Zippo. Nadda.

November
We received 29G from Sellemius for a guildhall!! I suggested that perhaps a Bardic College would be an excellent investment, but nobody listened to me...

December
Nothing but cold, cold, cold. Why did I ever leave a life of luxury in Cheliax? Why did I learn Silent Image instead of Endure Elements? Why is life so cruel?

January
Torven (or was it Proven?) asked for permission to build a shop up near the Sevenarches' temple, and the Crimson Leaves guildhall was founded. I moved in the day after we finished it. Room 509 with a harbor view, baby!

Calistril [February] 4713- Calistril 4714 - "The Lost Year"
So as the title suggests, I totally forgot about these Chronicles until Lady Francine asked me when we started our trade with Varnhold and I was like, "Let me check the Chronicles - Oh Sh1t!!" So, um, this past year we built up our city, and...I think that's it. The Lords Trio asked me to ID some magic items but I couldn't figure out what they did. Right now a bunch of trolls are raiding our caravans?

March
Troll raids intensifying. Five caravans assaulted. State of emergency announced throughout the kingdom. Also, apparently Hymbria and Sevenarches are at war with each other for some reason?

April
The Troll King Hargulka has been slain! And there was much rejoicing throughout the kingdom. Sadly, my luxurious room in the guildhall (as well as the guildhall, a section of the city wall,a nd our tannery) was demolished by a gigantic owlbear shortly afterwards. Then the Lords Trio dealt with the furred, feathery menace as well.

May
We rebuilt the tannery. Yippeee.

June
We held peace talks between Sevenarches and Hymbria, and Sir Akiros was sent to investigate the identity of the supposed Hymbrian assassin.

July
Sir Akiros returned with news of the assassin's identity, though the Lords forgot to invite me to the Council Room to discuss the matter. Again. A second meeting was held and Sevenarches and Hymbria agreed to a peace treaty.

August
The Lords traveled to Daggermark, where they participated in the Outlaw Council! I'm excited for them to join the other lords of the River Kingdoms, but then again I'm not sure how Brevoy will react to Stagfall joining an "Outlaw Council." Apparently the Council resulted in many kingdoms opening a trade embargo on Daggermark, while we opened trade with the underwater kingdom of Outsea for their ambergris and pearl jewelry. Master Sergius of Khrush left on a mission to root out a company of bandits
occupying an allied nation, which means I, for one, will breathe a little more easily at night.

September
Strange news! Apparently the entire population of the neighboring kingdom of Varnhold has completely vanished! After Sir Akiros Ismort failed to report back, the Lords Trio have left to investigate. I, meanwhile, shall protect the kingdom against the sudden abrupt rise in self-styled drama critics. If you think it's so easy, then you try writing a masterpeice sometime, you peacocks! Oh, and Lord Sergius of Khrusha was apparently killed while away on duty. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

October
A series of strange murders have taken place in the center of Stagfall! While they remain unsolved, the case has prompted Lady Desra to appoint a gargoyle as the new Royal Assassin. Which apparently not only scared the piss out of me, but the murderer as well, since the murders abruptly stopped.

November
Oh merry day! Lady Francine and her companions have discovered the citizens of Varnhold, abducted by an evil lich for nefarious purposes! And even better, Lady Francine has agreed to marry Lord Varn of Varnhold! I must order a new robe immediately! It would not do for the Royal Magister to seem slovenly at such an occasion!

December
I've been promoted to Master Builder and Grand Chronicler, and Lord Varn has assumed the lowly post of Magister! Meanwhile, the kingdom has been on a farm-building spree to feed the hungry mouths of Varnhold.
