Re: Merry Christmas, Queen's Bay!

I'd say True Blood, except that's actually a pretty decent series.

Re: Merry Christmas, Queen's Bay!

Right.  So.  Twilight series on Blu-Ray and a set of Rifftrax download codes.

And maybe a checklist notepad labeled "Inaccuracy Counter".

Re: Merry Christmas, Queen's Bay!

So in one day, I met the Chief of Naval Reserve, Force Master Chief Wheeler, and the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy, and than got into the the Press Room of the Pentagon.

All while getting paid.

Nice!

Meanwhile I'm being drained and tired, and I get to deal with a job fair tomorrow.  And a lot of being driven places.  I need to also figure out what to wear to the job fair tomorrow.

Re: Merry Christmas, Queen's Bay!

Since it's in the San Diego region, let me know what you see. I'm going to be seriously on the job hunt when I get back.

I get getting false starts. A few good leads, than turn downed, and than I stop looking.

Re: Merry Christmas, Queen's Bay!

Not so easy, it's a school-related job fair.  I'm going to be keeping an eye out for biology-related work, sorry, and I have to also worry about biochemical lab tomorrow and other stuff.  And changing my clothes.

But what's your focus?  I can at least maybe name places.

Astra: For dress code for job fairs, I'm usually advised to go either business casual or formal business attire. Dress for the job you want, and all that.

Nik: Congratulations! That must've been awesome.

Re: Merry Christmas, Queen's Bay!

Sorry. Well, if you want something that might actually be helpful, wear something blue. It's a psychological trigger that makes people think you're cool, calm and smart, and I remember seeing a study that simply wearing blue increases your chances by like 20%.

EDIT: Note, this is for jobs where being cool, calm and smart is considered a good thing. If you're looking to seem energetic, passionate and creative, you go for red.

Heh.  I'm going to likely have a "I'm friendly, intelligent, and an utter dork who likes this field" face.  This will be amusing.

Re: Merry Christmas, Queen's Bay!

Nope, black and maroon.  Maybe this purplish-blue shirt I have.  If I want to be really weird, corset to help my back.  Oddly, most people don't give me crap for it, they usually assume it's a fancy back brace!

Too loud, too crowded, too dark, and the only thing the people are interested in is their drink and the person that they're trying to fuck.

Re: Merry Christmas, Queen's Bay!

Go to a nice pub, instead. Like Shakespeare's or The Princess Pub or Churchill's. Better food, and there are darts involved.

Anywho, just wanted to apologize for the really sporadic posting for the past couple weeks. I started working again, and my sister had her baby so I've been distracted. Mostly by the baby. Because she's adorable. And plump. So damn cute.

I'm hoping life will soon retreat into a steady holding pattern, and posting will once again go on as it usually does. Unfortunately, though, the ability for me to post steadily in the mornings is gone, so other than the weekends, you will be seeing the most activity in the evening times.

Right-o.

I haven't been to a formal bar.  I've been to pubs, but only in the afternoon, and I'm frankly more interested in people and such.  And I hate noise and such.

=P Oh sure, the night I have to be in bed at 6 you post something.

As I'm sure you're all aware, the inauguration ceremony is done and over with. I'm exhausted but its something I'll be forever glad that I had done.

Silent Partner currently silent

Hey, guys.  Sorry for the lack of postings.  Silent Partner has succumbed to the flu and I've been a little preoccupied assisting in her recovery.  We will get back to it as soon as we are able.
