Mr. Storyteller, what are you doing up at four in the morning? Your wife was still in bed!

David Jameson:
In reply to Sereno Blackwood (msg # 642):

And yes, David will totally try to talk Sereno into babysitting when that necessity arises.

After all, Sereno is his best friend in the Conclave (pack doesn't count).  "Seriously, just tell her/him a story or two, they'll settle down.  And if they don't, Ulcisor can teleport, so there you go!"

Sereno already is going to be something of an uncle to Cora and Will's two.  And honestly, he's pretty easy going with supernatural kids.   The whole 'I can heal stuff easily' thing helps.

The one problem is about... (spoilers) Fifty years down the line, they are both going to vanish, and it'll be very obvious Sereno knew it was coming, seeing that he would leave a will and what to do with it behind.

Those look great, guys. As it is not date night tonight, we will get back to more epilogues tonight after some running around.

Timeline Musing

So a couple of notes from my mental noodling, figuring things out for David's epilogue:

The finale is in the winter of 2013.  Erin is born around 2025 or so; Michael is born a few years after that (2028?), and Julie/Ilmarinen is born around 2032.  Their most frequent sitters were probably Casey, Sereno, and Renata; also, potentially Rhiannon and Ben.  Contemplate what effect that might have on children, and smile with me.  *gryn*

I also assume, timeline-wise, that Sereno disappears around 2060 or so, 50 years on-ish.  Jack probably passes a decade later, since he's about 30 when the game occurs, and dies at age 93.  Laura dies around 2110; David disappears into the Shadow shortly thereafter (probably within a month or so of her passing, honestly); both of them are around 120 at the time, but look about 50 years younger.

Re: Timeline Musing

RENATA?! BAHAHAHAHA! Man, those kids would love it when Renata was responsible for them.

"You kids ever shatter a piece of art over a business man's head when you're taking over his company? No? Would you like to?"

"...Here, sign on this line and you get most of the stock his company has left. Okay, here's your vase. Hmm? Oh, it was only a few thousand dollars, don't worry."

Re: Timeline Musing

In reply to Silent Partner (msg # 650):

Yeah, pretty much.  In the serious way, I figure that Renata is friends with David, is good friends with Laura, and (in those rare quiet moments of self-contemplation she would never ever in a million years admit to having) that these three (or potentially Nikolai & Bridget's hypothetical offspring) are about as close as she would ever come to having children of her own.

In the more humorous vein, David & Laura know damn good and well they're raising their children in the middle of the Concord.  As long as there's no permanent harm done, anything Renata pulls along those lines can be chalked up to "valid learning experience".

And as I said, it makes just makes it even more of a classic farce when their mortal grandparents come to visit.

Understandable.

But honestly, I've been joking and flailing with friends over stuff Sereno would be doing later on, including what the ever-loving hell xe ends up as.

Re: Timeline Musing

Yeah, I have some bits and pieces, too.  Various deaths (because, c'mon, for an Uratha, who you go out fighting is right up there for important questions), descriptions, fragments, etc.  I do have a bit in my head that involves Jack, David, and Casey going into the Underworld to find Casey's murdered mother's ghost and help the both of them find peace.  Among other thoughts.

Yeah, and Sereno probably has dragged the others on adventures as well, but the times he has vanished?

He's usually doing dream shit or, rarely, Ulciscor.

In reply to Sereno Blackwood (msg # 657):

Oh my. </takei>

In all seriousness, though, I imagine similar things for Jack. For example, one thing no one else knew was that Isabella got a restraining order from the current mayor's lawyers, after she found out he was using taxpayer money for "special sessions" with Gillian Skylar (he dressed up in schoolgirl outfit and asked to be called Brittany). Of course, now that he's not being bankrolled by the Seers, there's nothing stopping Isabella from printing all the juicy details, and incidentally clearing the way for Jack to become mayor.

He was never bankrolled by the seers.

He was just a creep in office with wealthy backers.

Re: Timeline Musing

Speaking of which...

Because I 1) would like to commemorate the completion of the game as well as the characters who have grown with us the last two and a half years; 2) am transitioning my business to digital art full-time; and 3) am already owing you guys art from, like, a year or so ago, I will be doing full art pieces for all of you.

One of the ideas I'd had was to do B&W compositions of each of the PCs with their respective significant-others. Either that or single-character images in full-color. Or, if there's a general consensus of differing opinion, whatever is the popular choice.

Whatever the case may be, I'll be starting with David and Nikolai's stuff, then Jack, and finally Sereno (who has absolutely no shortage of art XD).

So, I just need requests or suggestions from y'all. I will start work on them pretty dang soon.

All good things

And that, I suppose, finally wraps up Queen's Bay!

Everyone's epilogues were beautiful and appropriate. Thanks to everyone for putting the time, effort, and thought into them. I can't think of a better way to conclude the story we'd run for over two and a half years.

Huzzah!

Actually, boss, now that all is said and done, do  you think you could allow access to the region-locked/old threads?  I was just curious, as there's some amusing bits that happened in threads that were accessible for a while, but then went back into other people's areas.

Re: All good things

That possibility did come up previously, but then I decided I was lazy and didn't want to go through every thread and open them up. I suppose though, if there are specific threads you want in on, I can do it. Also, since there are no more secrets, if there was anything that still wasn't clear, or you had theories on but couldn't ask, go ahead and let them roll.
