One dead, one injured in warehouse explosion

The blast, which set off car alarms and shattered windows in nearby buildings, occurred in an unused warehouse down by the docks around two in the morning. One victim, a juvenile parole officer named Charity Priam was rushed to St. Catherine's hospital with critical injuries. The other victim's name has been withheld until the family can be notified.

While the investigation is ongoing, sources say that the police have ruled out anything involving gas lines, or a meth lab explosion.

Chaos in Chinatown

A popular eating establishment in Queen's Bay's Chinatown fell victim to a bizarre turn of events last night. A semi truck illegally transporting exotic and dangerous animals lost control and crashed through the wall of the Tian Xia restaurant, injuring several diners, and killing at least three. The crash also caused the cargo to become free from their containment, releasing them into the dining room, where the animals attacked many of the patrons. We have yet to confirm what animals were being transported, but eye witnesses claim to have seen wolves, tigers, and some sort of exotic bear. Several more patrons were fatally injured in the animal rampage, and several of the animals did escape. If you see anything unusual in your neighborhoods, please, call the police and do not attempt to engage or trap the animal in any way.

Blowing in the New Year

The Northern coast of California is ringing in the New Year with help from Mother Nature. A large storm has slammed the coastal region, sweeping in from the Northwest and charging down the beaches of the sunshine state. The ferocity and speed with which the storm hit caught many off guard, necessitating several rescues both on the water and in mountain camping grounds. Several seaside communities are fighting against extreme surf conditions that threaten to erode the land underneath several beach front homes. And while the more immediate coastal areas are experiencing flash floods and power outages, the mountains are dealing with freezing rain and, above the 5,000 ft level, snow. Several roads are closed and most citizens are without power.
Authorities are asking residents to stock up on flashlights, and to remain calm. Emergency services will understandably be spread thin, and utilities will be working overtime to restore and maintain power to all areas.

Local Establishment Closes

A popular night spot in Queen's Bay, The Grove, has suddenly closed down. It is unknown why the owner decided to shut the doors, but the staff were reportedly all given very generous severance checks. This is different than other time The Grove has been closed, as staff members were put on retainer rather than let go. It is unknown when or if the Grove will reopen, but as a classier fixture of Queen's Bay night life, many hope to see it reopen soon.
