Re: OOC

Well, just let Rain get some sleep in and she ought to be good for whatever watch she has.  She's got enough in the way of WP to last a few rounds, and she'll easily raise the alarm if something happens.  Breakwater might not have any punch against a Helghast, but her brand new spear can pack a good punch against them.

Re: OOC

Just out of curiosity - what is the spread of our magic weapons? Sabre obviously has one that can hurt a helghast, anyone else?

Re: OOC

Rain's new spear has a WP-fueled magic damage effect.  Might be taking Battle Magic or Kai-alchemy for my next discipline so I can really put the hurt down on them...

Re: OOC

Sun Snake can, too, as you should know - that blue fire wasn't just for show!

Rain Feather can hit them with Psy-Surge, as she already proved, and now she has the Black Spear too, which is quite powerful.

Swift Fox too has her own means to damage them, too... but I think they'll look cooler when she actually uses them. They're a bit conventional, too.

As for you and Dusk Rat... no, absolutely none; Dusk Rat is not a fighter... and I thought you would enjoy having the chance to try and find one in Toran! ;)

Re: OOC

I was just thinking maybe we should keep an even distribution of useful weaponry between the groups. Would be rather unfortunate for our little merry band to come across something no one can harm

Re: OOC

Well, the Maakengorge group is armed to the teeth! ^^

As for your group, believe me: you only have to trust in Swift Fox and help her in battle doing whatever she asks you, and she'll be able to take care of almost any opponent you can end up facing. She might not look it, but like Sun Snake, she can pack quite a punch when it counts - there's a reason I made her the leader, you know! :)

Of course, your group will need to build quite a bit of trust with each other in character for that to work... Feel free to start whenever! ;D

Re: OOC

I think we're going to need every bit of weaponry and everything else we can muster for the mission... if two Helghasts almost gave six of us that much trouble, well...

Re: OOC

Weee, Jewelled Sword for the win! Feel free to ask for the story of it!

And lol, if we work together we could have taken those two Helghast down pretty easily. The key is I think these battles will be manageable as long as we work them out with our skills. If we get wrong footed, that's when we end up in a world of hurt.

Still, even caught wrong-footed we managed to survive, so I wouldn't rule out our powers just yet!

Re: OOC

I'm not too fussed about the watch order, though logically it's better to go first or last so as to have the longest period of uninterrupted sleep. But Dusk Rat doesn't need to recover any damage so I was just gonna do that meditation thing to recover the WP I spent during the day. As Dusk Rat is currently making a scout run of the clearing's perimeter, she isn't immediately present to partake of any discussions regarding current plans. She'll probably be back in a few minutes of game-time.

Meanwhile, what are we gonna do about these forty-or-so brain-fucked villagers? We can't just leave them, and obviously as they're not dead we can't exactly bury them. I'd agree with Wuffy in that sending for help would be a bad idea when for all we know there's a load more Helghasts hanging around nearby somewhere waiting to nab someone. Is there some other place they can be taken? I'm pretty sure we Kai would be somehow obligated to do something for them - they're not dead and even though they'll presumably be unable to think or do anything for themselves ever again, they are still alive. Can this condition be cured or alleviated in any way, by someone with the right know-how? I'm guessing this doesn't happen too often - bunch of Kai attacke, entire village lost while Kai are there supposedly defending them. Doesn't really say much for our abilities, does it, if we let those under our protection suffer such fates? Especially an entire village...

Re: OOC

Well, not every attack includes a specifically psychically trained, expecially powerful Helghast, now does it? That's kind of a though problem to handle for everybody - it's not really every day that somebody encounter this kind of opponent; most Helghast would be more along the lines of the one Sabre Fox faced.

Either way, I totally agree with Sun Snke: so long as you keep in mind what your powers make you capable of, and work togheter, you should be able to handle my challenges... but, as you can see, that does not mean it would be easy!

For example, if Swift Fox had been forced to fight other villagers, Sun Snake, than you'd have to make another round with the children, and then fight the old man as well... would you have survived?

Same for Swift: would you have been able to manage a long fight against multiple opponents without being the first attacker?

And I doubt that either Rain Feather or Sabre Fox would have been able to beat the leader alone... but togheter they did it.

So really, work togheter, and everything will work out in the end! :)

Don't work togheter, and, well... I won't be pulling punches, so... ;P

Ah, by the way, about the villagers... the only way to save them would have been if one of you had had the Mindfort Psy-Screen improvement. Sad as it is, the only way you could have saved some villagers would have been if you'd fallen for the trap.

That's part of the reason Sun Snake offered to middle, of course - interrupted sleep. And Does Dusk Rat need to heal? :D

Re: OOC

I'm not too bothered about the watch order either.  As long as I get enough sleep to let me heal a bit, otherwise I won't be of much use to you in the next battle :)

You're all going to get enough rest, don't worry about that; I'm not about to throw a battle like this one at you, and then impair you chance of healing... yet. :)

Re: OOC

:) Well, arguing for avoiding the watches is your right! ^^
However, as I just said, if you do take a watch, that wouldn't impair your healing capabilities; it would just be a purely roleplaying decision not wanting to stay up during the night.

And of course, you'll never see me make any objection against roleplay decisions! ^^

Re: OOC

I was more thinking along the lines of the healing! So if it wont affect that, then ill see about a watch ;)

Just thought that a full nights sleep went hand in hand with full healing

Re: OOC

Whats the full benefits of the tent and sleeping bags by the way? I rechecked when we first got them and it says that it will be confirmed in final later. Have you decided yet Shadow?

Re: OOC

The tents and blankets each make those who use them to sleep recover 2 END and 1 WP extra, so using both is +4 END, +2 WP. Also, a blanket can only house one person, a tent can house up to four.

Really, sleeping will make you recover a lot... it's the out of sleeping healing that will be hard to come by as the plot goes on. You'll see! :D
