The mountain ranges of Leritor dominated the horizon as Lamar was busy working on the solar farm when he saw the detachment of Stormtroopers head toward his home. He ran as he raced to get there first but there was no hope. He was breathless as he watched the Stormtroopers gun down his wife and son!

Lamar was shocked. Why? I haven't done anything? And my wife hardly leaves the farm. And a three year old boy?

Breathing hard from his exertion his hands shook as he raised his pistol. You always needed one on a farm, as there were always raiders, animals, and apparently Storm Troopers to worry about. He fired his first blast catching the officer in the back and burning a hole right through his chest. Instinctively he dived for cover after he fired. This saved his life, as he had several blaster bolts seek him out, slamming the rocks he had dived behind.

As the blaster bolts slammed into the rocks around him he struggled to breath. Fear? Anguish? Exertion? All or some of this? He didn't know, but he knew he had to keep moving, or his family would die unavenged.

As Lamar hid from the horror he had witnessed a cold, stern voice echoed around him. It was clear voice not one muffled by a Stormtrooper’s helmet “always a fool” the man laughed, not a soft laugh but a bark “now you die as well” he threatened. Lamar heard the man casually command the Stormtroopers to kill him!

Blaster bolts struck against the rocks, pebbles and dust cascading over Lamar as he heard the boots of the Stormtroopers getting closer and closer.

With his vision darkening as his body was overloading from his exertion, he tried desperately to stay conscious. His hands and legs shaking he searched precariously for a way out. Even as the superheated rocks landed on his skin burning him, he searched. There. A drainage pipe, that might work. He began crawling. His pace was agonizingly slow, due to his exhaustion, but he was making progress. fortunately the stormtroopers hadn't yet rushed his position.

The Stormtroopers were getting dangerously close to Lamar’s hiding spot. He made a break for it and dived into a pipe. For a moment he was in the open. It gave Lamar an opportunity to see his pursuers. Stormtroopers were spread out combing the area. Lamar could not stop himself from taking a last look at the bodies of his wife and son. Stood over them was a tall man in a grey Imperial uniform. It was Moff Hiroff!

10:30, Today: Lamar Danar rolled 12 using 1d20+4.  endurance. Seriously? The RNG hates this character right now.


As he fled into and through the drainage pipe he racked his brain searching for a reason for the empire to be after his family, much less the Moff himself. Why the hell were they coming after a simple farming family. Yea he had been a part of the Leritor rangers during his youth, but that was ten years ago, and he'd never fought against the empire directly. He wasn't in the rebellion, and wasn't an agitator. So why was his family targeted?

This was going through his mind as he used an old breathing technique his drill sergeant had once taught him on how to bring up a reserve of strength. His vision cleared somewhat as he crawled through the muddy drainage pipe. The fetid plant matter and animal droppings were sickening to smell, but he'd been through worse in his youth. He needed to survive. If not how was he going to find out why, and get revenge for, his family's murder.

Through the pipe Lamar heard the echoing voices of the Stormtroopers and Moth Hiroff as they searched for his hiding spot. However far Lamar crawled and however much time passed when he stopped to listen he would hear them close by again. Tracking him and trapping him.
