First Twilight Get-Together

As the shadows lengthen and the desert cools the danger of night time approaches Mos Eisley. Vile bounty hunters stalk the darkened streets. Thieves, murderers and all manner of criminals prowl the arched pathways with evil intent.

Re: First Twilight Get-Together

Lyla watched the skiff drive off, faintly pleased that she'd correctly worked out Puggles Trodd's scheme, more annoyed that she'd been the victim of it. It wasn't a bad idea, really, but it wouldn't last long, and would make a lot of very annoyed enemies very soon. The heat frayed tempers all around. She rather hoped the Rodian would be smart enough to give it a rest before the other hunters worked it out.

She watched the Kel Dor depart, without a word, then turned to Tera. "Well, here we are. Do you want to do this separately or tag along? I don't know about you, but I'd like to get a drink first. Fortunately, I reckon we'll find Labria propping up the hotel bar."

Re: First Twilight Get-Together

"I'd rather travel with the rest of you. The drink I could do without...unless we can trade in some of this stuff we found. In which case, I'd be more than pleased to join you all." Tera looked around, wary of her surroundings. It wasn't the best of times to go wandering off around Mos Eisley.

Re: First Twilight Get-Together

Zerrek groaned as he jumped and landed out of the Skiff, clutching his wound slightly before, in his words, manning up and gritting his teeth as he walks over to ladies "A drink sounds good....maybe I can gamble here a bit better this time." He mutters to himself as he looks around "Let's go inside, we don't need attention here..." Zerrek suggests with a indication towards a random direction wherever Lyla wanted to go.

"The drink's just to get the sand out of my mouth and cool down my tails. Cold water will do me fine..."

Lyla looked to Zerrek with concern. "Maybe you should go rest up in the ship?"

"Well, Spaceport Hotel's just here next door, so let's go."

Re: First Twilight Get-Together

Willmar grunted his approval at the idea of the Inn.  Cruising about the desert all day long was clearly not his idea of fun, and he was happy for the opportunity to relax with some drink and possibly even some decent food.  Just the thought of juicy meat wiped away the taste of sand from his mouth, at least temporarily.

"Let's get out of the heat." Mallox said as he walked towards the hotel.

Tera nodded "Agreed. Though it cools pretty quickly after First Twilight. A drink might be just the thing for us to relax a bit before we meet up with Labria."

Re: First Twilight Get-Together

The Spaceport Hotel was the sort of dilapidated and rundown building common to Mos Eisley. Inside the hotel clerk, a sullustan was busy checking in a long line of guests. The place was crowded. The clerk was busy and his uniform grubby. The one good thing about the place was that the food is cheap.

Refreshment and food is ordered and a table found by a stained and dirty plastiglass window overlooking the street. Not long after the food arrives a predictably half-cut Labria is spotted weaving drunkenly toward the hotel on a beat-up speeder bike. Parking his bike haphazardly near to the entrance the devorian staggered in and sat down at the table and went straight to business “Slag Flats is an ithorian-in-exile, an ancient female hammerhead who came to this dead desert world on the initial colony. She’s carved a place for herself here. She can tell you where to find -hic– this Tallon” he explained “she holds audience –burp– in the silo. It’s on the outskirts of town” he spoke in his typically slurred way and then tried to stand back up, leaning drunkenly on the table.

Re: First Twilight Get-Together

Zerrek patted Lyla on the back and smiled at her "I'll be fine, just gimme something alcoholic.." He joked. He made convosation and as soon as Labia spoke his piece he leaned in over the table they were at, taking a sip from his drink "...What's the plan? Do we go now?" He questioned their next move, pondering over the choice of timing "What do we have to lose..."

Feeling a hand on her back, Lyla automatically flinched away. "No touching, please, sweetie." she warned Zerrek quietly, more understanding than angry.

She listened to Labria, glad to finally get a simple answer to the problem. "Just a minute," she interrupted Zerrek and Labria's departure. "Tell us about Slag. What's she like, what does she do? ...Do we need an invite or pass to get into this silo? What times can we catch her there anyway?"

"Everything he says is true. Slag is one of two remaining original colonists of Tattoine. They're very difficult to get to see. I thought I was going to have to go to the cantina, but it seems fate had a different purpose in mind when we crossed paths." Tera followed Labria, needing to see Slag.

Re: First Twilight Get-Together

“I take you -hic- now. The only way she will see you is if I take you” Labria smiled “Slag Flats has made herself a place in the criminal underworld. Not a large enough spot to upset Jabba the Hutt” he explained as he managed to straighten himself.

When Tera spoke Labria gave her a sidelong look “you’re Heff’s girl -burp- you know he’s dead right?”

Re: First Twilight Get-Together

"Yes, I know. It's why I need to see Slag. Heff kept out in the open in legit business, but he was murdered for it. You know Heff, a shrewd businessman, but he never did anything to warrant being killed for it. I have some clues on how to find who killed him, but I need Slag's help to do it." Tera grimaced at the burp as she could smell it from where she was.

Re: First Twilight Get-Together

“So what you waiting for?” Labria challenges Tera as he starts to make his wobbly way out of the hotel and back to the street “you got bikes? One of you can hitch a ride on the back of mine” he offers although looking at the state Labria was in and the condition of his rundown bike riding with him would be putting your life in danger.

Re: First Twilight Get-Together

"One more thing: how does Slag Fats feel about the Imperials?" She didn't ask how she felt about the Rebels, of course, but the one would answer the other.

"'Fraid we don't have transport yet. Spaceport Speeders is over there — we should go rent some."

Re: First Twilight Get-Together

“Slag was here before the Prefect, most of the people here don’t pay much heed to the Imperials -hic- myself I don’t know how long it’ll stay like that” Labria remarked pensively.

Across the street the sign above Spaceport Speeders claims that they rent, sell and buy all sorts of repulsor vehicles. There are two landspeeders on the forecourt. A salesman is speaking with one group of three people who are haggling over an old Mobquet A-1 landspeer and a lone tall woman is examining a rebuilt Ubrikkian.

Zerrek stared at the rundown bike, even his used one was in a better state than this "Er I've got mine back at the ship, I'll catch up later, I prefer mine, if anyone wants to come with, please do" He answered as he left the invitation open before moving to walk back to the spaceport to get his speederbike.

Re: First Twilight Get-Together

Lyla looked at the speeders, feeling the urge to kick their repulsorlifts. She briefly considered Zerrek's offer to share his bike, but was reluctant to risk her neck to something that moved so fast. She wished she'd hired a bantha or dewback — now there was a reliable form of transport — but night was coming and the dewbacks would be less active in the cold.

"Alright, who knows speeders and wants to handle this?"

Re: First Twilight Get-Together

Willmar also seemed reluctant; nobody's legs were broken here and there didn't seem to be a definite meeting time that might qualify them as late if they did walk.  Still, they'd have to keep an eye on that drunkard Labria, so keeping up would be important.

"Ride with me, Lyla," he offered.  "But don't get too excited, I don't plan to break any speed limits... not that any of these buckets could anyhow."  Pensively, he tried to pick out the one least likely to spontaneously combust before asking the renter for a price.
