Re: Breaking and Entering

A search of the shelves and the records doesn’t reveal of the needed parts in this section of the warehouse. Luckily Klyn also doesn’t see any sign of the sentry droid.

Re: Breaking and Entering

The constant stress from maintaining vigilance while searching as quickly as possible for the right pieces brings perspiration on Klyn's brown.
This kind of mission wasn't exactly usual for him and, despite the tension, he felt some exhilaration too.

Especially know, on the verge of entering the next room without knowing if the droid is there or note

'mental note: devise some kind of droid scanner for later use'

Working as silently as he can, he open the door slightly to peek inside, then carefully enter if there is no trouble ahead.

Re: Breaking and Entering

The door slid open silently. Through was revealed a chamber that was virtually identical to the last. Row upon row of boxes and crates, interspersed with computer terminals, data-readout screens and scanner points. The notable difference here was that the overhead light was activated, illuminating the entire room. The reason for this soon became apparent when Klyn saw the sentry droid patrolled one of the walkways. The droid with its back to Klyn did not spot him entering the room. Klyn had the choice of trying to sneak pass and into the next room or confronting it.

Re: Breaking and Entering

Klyn freezes the moment he notices the droid.
And he barely stops himself from sighing in relief as he understand he wasn't detected.

Quickly he checks his options and decide to get rid of the droid now: the chance might not come again and the risk of being discovered while searching the remaining rooms is too big.

Moving as stealthily as he can, he will try to surprise the droid and put the bolt on it without the droid noticing him...

Re: Breaking and Entering

The droid was programmed to complete a predetermined path around the warehouse. Unaware of Klyn’s trespassing it continued its slow progress. Klyn took full advantage of the droid’s preoccupation and crawled up to it. Now was the risky part fitting the restraining bolt.

Re: Breaking and Entering

Klyn takes a few moments to settle his heartbeat and regain his calm.
This was a thrilling, although frightening, experience.
With one last long expiration, he resumes his work, feeling a lot lighter now that he didn't risk being found... at least not too fast.

Making sure the droid is secure he begins to search the room.

Re: Breaking and Entering

Jumping out of hiding Klyn grappled the droid. The droid’s optical sensors detecting the threat too late flashed rapidly and it’s vocabulator beeped angrily. Before the droid could protest further Klyn expertly attached the restraining bolt. Its sensors dimmed and its released a mournful bleep before it was muted and still.

The droid was a biped and roughly humanoid in shape. It held some kind of blaster carbine. The droid disabled Klyn was able to continue his search. Locating the parts he needed was then only a matter of time. Without any pressure it only takes Klyn an hour of searching and he has everything he needs to get the Alabak’s Gold flying again.

Re: Breaking and Entering

Loot in hand Klyn prepared to flee the Imperial warehouse. As he walked out he passed the inactive droid. The sentry droid was exactly as he left it. Immobile and unable to move, it would remain so until the restraining bolt was removed presumably when it either found or failed to send any routine communication it had been programmed to transmit to the Imperial Office or the Security Computer then someone would come to investigate.

There are plenty of bits and pieces Klyn could scavenge to make his scanner. How long was he prepared to remain at risk of being caught?

Re: Breaking and Entering

not long, only like 15 more minutes, just to get a few parts he might have stumbled upon while looking for the others needed parts.

No point in playing it risky: there are others places and times he could get parts.

Re: Breaking and Entering

As he grabbed what he came for Klyn was able to scavenge a few extra bits. Not enough to build his new sensor but enough to get it started.

The droid remained still and silent. Outside the dangerous and murky town of Mos Eisley awaited Klyn's return journey to the Alabak's Gold.

Re: Breaking and Entering

Staying careful, Klyn begins his travel back to the ship with his cargo.

There was no point to work more on the droid as it would certainly be found soon enough and the bold removed, meaning implanting a droid caller would be useless.

Now he could finally begin to work on his main task, happy that this little adventure is over... however exiting it was.

His bag of stolen gear bundled under an arm Klyn scurried back to the Alabak’s Gold where he could finish the much needed repairs.

OOC Give us 2 Mechanics Rolls. One for the ship and one for starting to build the Droid Sensor.

Once he begins his work on the ship, Klyn's mood improve again and he often catches himself whistling or humming

Re: Breaking and Entering

At the ship Klyn got back to work. The rebel engineer replaced the burned out EAUs. He was running through some test when his enthusiastic whistling was interrupted by an increase in spaceport activity around docking bay. Sensors on the Alabak’s Gold alerted Klyn. Something was happening.

Going from whistling to muttered curses in the blink of an eye, Klyn quickly moves to the sensors to check whatever raised the alarm.

Mentally checking his last expedition, he hopes not to have left to many tracks of his presence, and nothing that could lead them here.

Re: Breaking and Entering

Discovering what was happening was not difficult. Comlink chatter and sensors all pointed to the same thing. Any Imperial Star Destroyer had entered the system. The Imperial Prefect has started securing Mos Eisley and trying to close down the spaceport by Imperial Edict.

Klyn blinks a few times and pinch himself just to be certain it is not a nightmare but reality.

"Well, the good news is I doubt my little shopping is the cause of this arrival... Bad news is there IS a new arrival..." he tells himself, trying to keep his composure.

"Now, where the hell are the others?"

Apart from the frantic chatter across various comlink channels regarding the Imperial arrival they is no incoming messages from the rest of the team. Wherever they are they are keeping quiet or are unaware of the danger heading in their direction.

Re: Breaking and Entering

Klyn had decided to try to reach the other each hour, approximatively, to avoid any pattern.
He didn't dare try it more often, in case the Empire was listening.

He had already tried a few times, and didn't put much hope in the next attempt, but there wasn't much he could do until he managed to get some info on their whereabouts.

"Klyn here, if you are listening, please respond : some people invited themselves at the party."

Re: Breaking and Entering

The docking bay is one of many crater-like launch stations that pockmark the wheel-shaped cityscape of Mos Eisley. As soon as Klyn left the ship he was faced with the blistering heat of the twin suns. From the docking bay stairs led up into the city. In the docking bay Klyn is alone. Using the Alabak’s Gold’s repulsorlift engines Klyn can manoeuvre the ship out easily then he’d be able to engage the sublight engines for greater speed before they reach space and the chance to make a hyperspace jump to escape the Imperial Star Destroyer.
