Pirates Ahoy

The lower floor of the tower was busy now that there were eight soldiers billeted in it. The tower was large enough for all of them to find enough space to lay down their weapons and pack their belongings in their spacer chests. On his bedroll Ares slept comfortably until the light from the twin suns reached down the tower’s stairs to wake him. Others were moving about and getting ready for the day.

Much as Ares had found the previous day he was left to his own devices. It appeared that Tallon was still waiting for something. It was halfway through the day whilst Ares and T3-M8 were in the living room when Tol came running in “Tallon wants everyone at the lobby, we’ve got incoming” her message given she quickly ran off.

Re: Pirates Ahoy

Ares stood up and, non-chalantly, hefted his repeating rifle over his shoulder as Tol ran off. "Well that didn't take long at all did it?" he said to M8.  "Better go see what this is all about...you coming along M8?"   He didn't wait long for a reply before he turned and headed for the lobby. Along the way he checked all of his gear to make sure everything was in order. If there was going to be a fight, he would be ready for it.

Re: Pirates Ahoy

Disengaging from the scomp link T3-M8 bleeps a quick set of acceding tones generally associated with just that, accent, as he makes his way out of the room and along the quickest path to the lobby and or meeting room.

Re: Pirates Ahoy

The lobby was elegant and demonstrated Tallon's wealth and good taste. Beautiful tapestries from the Galactic Core hang from the walls and tall pillars of marble and polished stone, with intricate carvings divide the room. Adar Tallon stands waiting; his wife stands by his side. Tallon looks to Ares and T3-M8 “Jungen tells me he saw a landspeeder heading this way. No one would come out this way unless they were looking for us. The others are waiting outside or watching from the towers. If they come to talk bring them to my music room. If they attack, stun them” the Commander then moved to exit the lobby.

Re: Pirates Ahoy

Ares nodded his understanding as the Commander turned and exited the room. He then turned to M8. "You happen to have a stun weapon installed in that little pirate chassis of yours do you?" he asked. "My rifle wont be of much use for stunning...it has no stun setting." There was no time to search for a suitable weapon. Perhaps sometime in the future he could have a Techie modify his repeater with a stun switch. Bit right now time was of the essence so he turned and headed for the exit of the fort.

Once outside, Ares looked around for a elevated area near the front entrance of the fort. Perhaps a battlement, walkway or even a large rock to stand on. Anything to give himself the advantage of having higher ground. Once he found a suitable position he peered out into the desert, searching for the speeder Jungen said he had seen, also keeping an eye out for anybody on foot in case the intruders bailed their speeder in an attempt be make a more stealthy entrance into the fort.

Re: Pirates Ahoy

Rather than an answer looking back at where T3-M8 was rolling along a few moments ago results in the discovery of only an empty patch of hallway.  The little droid had moved off at some point between leaving the room and Ares' arrival at the site of the disturbance.  No longer emitting even the slight wiring noise T3-M8 ghosts through the back passages of the fortress and up onto the outer wall where the shadows to keep hidden, switching off all the running lights enables the droid to take advantage of its atypically dark paint scheme of a mildly pirate like nature to be almost alarmingly hard to find.

Re: Pirates Ahoy

Looking outside both Ares and T3-M8 spot the approaching speeder. A Mobquet A-1 landspeeder, the fully enclosed body and cockpit concealing any view of the pilot or passengers. Their destination was no mystery as the speeder came directly down from the higher pass and into Tusken Canyon. The once thriving settlement was nothing but a burned husk. Debris littered its streets and sand wore away at the now rusty buildings. The Mobquet whooshed passed the ruins, throwing sand clouds behind it.

Tusken Fort sat upon a small rise. The speeder would have to slow down before it could reach the fort’s main door and would have to come clear of any cover offered by the canyon or ruins before that.

Re: Pirates Ahoy

Sitting atop the walkway above the main entrance of the fort, Ares rested his rifle on the edge of the of the wall as though it were resting in a tripod to help him hold it steady. He began to line line the speeder up in his sights, gently leading his aim a bit ahead of the vehicle. He had no intention of firing on the speeder until he was sure it posed a threat to him and the others at the fort. There can't be many more than 5 or six passengers on that thing. Ares thought to himself. Besides, who in their right mind just comes speeding up to a fortified position not even knowing how many people are defending it an expects to win a fight....No, these people are here to talk. Talk or not, he wasn't about to let up his aim.

Ares then spoke to any who were within earshot of himself. "Be ready for anything. Weapons set to stun if they can be. They are probably here to talk but we don't want to take any chances. If a fight breaks out the Commander wants them alive. When and if they exit the speeder, mark your targets by standard procedure. We don't all wanna be firing on the same single target. We want to divide our fire up evenly to take them out as quickly as possible". After he spoke, he wiped away the sweat from his brow and waited to see what the speeder, and its occupants would do.

OOC: Even though whoever is in that speeder is more than likely here to talk, I'd still like to ready an action to attack the first person to attack one of us.

Re: Pirates Ahoy

Once the speeder had reached close to the fort it slowed and came to a stop. The door swung open a fair skinned human with blonde hair and a beard stepped out of the pilot's seat. Taking one look at Ares he shook his head, showing streaks of white in his hair. A long cape keeps his hands hidden.

“My friend, we have no problem here” he said smoothly, as he chewed on a stick of SoroSuub chew.

The passenger seat of the Mobquet A-1 is empty.
