Re: City on Alert

Tera shouted "BOMB" and stepped back rapidly from the turbolift. Like Lyla she noted the signs of them climbing on top of the car. "The blast will be funnelled by the shaft. They might have gotten off at a lower level and hope to use the disarray of the bomb detonation as a distraction to get on board the ship."

Re: City on Alert

Shouting both Tera and Rynn scrambled out of the way, scattering the growing crowds who yelled and shrieked as when they heard there was a bomb in the elevator car. Not so easily set to flight the hardened Rebel Lyla peered closer and studied the turbolift and the detonite bomb. The Twi'lek examined the bomb and saw the timer was activated, a small indicator blinking red. Beside the blinking light was two buttons and two wires.

Re: City on Alert

Despite her doubts, Lyla wasn't about to mess around with a bomb. She quickly reached into the elevator, hit the down button, then turned tails and ran. Hopefully, it would explode in the shaft, which would contain the blast and limit damage. She hoped. As she sprinted, she could almost feel the flames licking her tails.

Re: City on Alert

Neither inhibited by the organic creatures fear of being damaged, nor particularly incompetent in the solving of explosive problems T3-M8 simply rolls on into the elevator, slipping through the doors even as they close to deal with the device.  Assessing the bomb with the quick and efficient power of a well programed droid T3-M8 quickly sets about disarming the device, perfectly sure in every action, never at risk of loosing his cool, second guessing a part of the procedure, or dripping fluids into his line of sight, or onto the device itself.

00:07, Today: T3-M8 rolled 27 using 1d20+15. Mechanics.

Lyla looked back in shock as the little droid didn't follow, and in fact rolled into the descending elevator. What was it doing? 'Uh, should we get that droid back?'

Re: City on Alert

The grenade-sized bomb was not a complicated device. The block of detonite was no danger, the threat was the timer. With cool logical reason the droid T3-M8 focused on the timer and not the explosive.

Outside the turbolift panic was growing. Civilians and soldiers scattered. Lyla looked back askance as T3-M8 trundled passed and the doors of the elevator slid shut with a shwoosh. Would it be followed the bang of an explosion?

Manipulating an array of tools T3-M8’s appendages made whirring sounds to accompany the sound of the turbolift as it’s motor began its descend. The small droid wobbled as elevator car moved but steadied its self and deactivated the bomb and removed the timer.

Tera turned her attention to the crowd fragmenting away from the doors. Looking for anyone who seemed to be out of place or in a small group of four. Especially any heading for the ship.

Re: City on Alert

Separating the bomb into it's component, and individually inert, parts T3-M8 loads each part into it's own internal storage compartment for later use, or more detailed examination.

With the bomb disabled and effectively removed from existence, or at least the risk of discovery, T3-M8 connects to the turbo lift once again and returns the now apparently empty lift car to the floor on which the others wait, once again leaving the door open until everyone is aboard or until someone is particularly insistent about going somewhere.

Re: City on Alert

Noticing T3 moving toward the lift, Klyn is too slow to stop him.

"Well... Maybe he spotted something we didn't" he said to Lyla.
"I didn't get a good look at the bomb but I don't think he would have done that if he hadn't know he was safe... I think..."

The lack of explosion and the quickly returning lift proved his hope was true.

Klyn quickly closed the distance bewteen him and the droid
"You little devil! Don't frighten us like that ever again! We could have lost you!"
Sighing he added, 'patting' the droid's head:
"Whatever... Good work big guy."

He then looked at the ceiling.
"Now, let's get back to business."

Re: City on Alert

Lyla was surprised and alarmed to see the elevator rise again and the doors open, revealing only a triumphant and shiny droid. 'Huh.' she breathed, impressed. 'You're a true hero, T3— Mate.' she said, rubbing its head.

Realising the ISC might have tried to slip through the starport in the chaos and panic, Lyla returned and quickly scanned the crowds and the port for anyone acting suspiciously: running the wrong way, seeming too calm, moving toward the ships. Her keen eyes picked out faces, clothes, weapons. Where were they?

Looking inside the elevator car Klyn sees that there is a hatch in the ceiling which the ISC scouts must have used to escape the turbolift. Presumably on a lower level.

'There!' Lyla shouted, pointing to the Handree and the group of four riding up to it on a repulsorlift beam. She whipped her rifle up to fix them in her scope, and to shoot if need be.

Rynn stared where the Twi'lek pointed until he saw them. "You sure these are just scientist? They sure move like commandos." He said, as he ran to the nearest Com-box and picked up the phone. "Break Break Break." He said into the receiver clearing any traffic. "Four Imps in the Handree." He said to whoever was listening. "We need fighters in the air, to take it down if need be."

Re: City on Alert

Tera just started running after the Scouts, feeling embarrassed at missing the one thing she was looking for as a result of the whole bomb thing. She was way out of pistol range and given how bad she was at using a pistol, only one thing would do to catch them. And that would be to slow them down for long enough to let the authorities get them.

Re: City on Alert

As everyone turned to look as the four Imperials ascended on  the repulsorlift beam and entered the ship. The repulsorlift beams connecting the Corellian gunship then begin retracting and its engines fired up. A group of soldiers responded to Rynn and prepared to shoot the starship down but a technician yelled "No! The medical supplies for Polmanar are already aboard".

The repulsorlift beams will retract slowly with the possibility of still be used. Rynn can also see three speeders prepped and ready for flight and knows they will be capable of reaching the Handree.

"Speeders!" Rynn said, taking off running to one of the prepped speeders meaning to speed toward the Handree. "We at least get on that ship!" he said as he ran. If he gets there first, he'll pick up the members of the team then speed off toward the repulsorlift.

Re: City on Alert

Sighting them through her scope, Lyla fired a shot at the scouts — Meahonon, she hoped — before they disappeared into the ship. She had to slow them down somehow, give them something to remember her by after she'd missed her opportunity at the turbolift. She listened, unsurprised, to the news of the medical supplies. 'Of course they are.' And of course the ship was just leaving too.

She ran after Rynn to the speeders, leaping aboard. 'Finally!' This was a desperate, terrible situation. If the ISC crew got back to Imperial space, the whole Isis base would be lost. And the ISC team had been two steps ahead, lucky, and bloody quick the whole way.

OOC: Shooting one of them as intended. I don't know the range penalty though.

"Damned" cursed Klyn as the technician prevented them from firing at the ship.
"They thought this well..."

Rynn's idea seemed crazy, but they didn't have much choice, so Klyn hurried toward them too, taking a second speeder if the first was too small to carry them all.

Tera kept running, hoping to get on board before the repulsorlift gave out. She had to stop them. Many people would die if she couldn't do this. The fear that many would get hurt and die unless she did something gave her the impetus to push herself further, her sprint lengthening.

Re: City on Alert

First to react was Rynn as he ran to the one of the nearby speederbikes and switched it on, the engine purred and the bike lifted on the ground. Lyla shot up at the fleeing scouts hitting the Imperial astronavigator, Meahonon swayed uneasily as the blast rocked her but cushioned by the repulsor beam she was carried up into the ship where her companions were seen to drag her off. Beneath them Tera leapt into the repulsor beam. The beam created a solid floor of energy beneath her. Soon she was being carried aloft toward the underside of the Handree.

After the Imperials were out of sight inside the gunship Lyla ran to Rynn and swung her leg over the bike and hung onto the Ubese. Klyn and T3-M8 took another speederbike and flew to intercept the Imperials before they made their escape and the medical supplies were lost.

OOC Tera and Oglo - Perception check. Everyone else either a Mechanics or Knowledge - Technology (your choice which) check.
