Warm Reception

After a dangerous race through the insides of the starship engine on a speederbike the Rebel engineer and the T3 droid reached corridor the access hatch. The pair dismounted from the bike when an intense wave of heat hit them. The engines were being cranked up to a higher power, the ships must be about to leave.

At the same time, a blue nimbus of static electricity played along the tunnel. The electricity snaps at man and droid with stinging pops and cracks, each becoming more painful than the last. It would be interesting to learn what would kill or destroy them first if they stayed here, oxygen deprivation, the heat or electrocution.

Down the hall, through the rippling waves of heat was the hatch marked 'Access Crawlway D'. Dial-like latches secured the door which T3-M8 quickly spun around and opened the door. The crawlway would lead to Deck Three Engineering.

Re: Warm Reception

"I should go first" said Klyn. "I think I'm a bit more subtle and nimble than you. We don't know what to expect and I might go unnoticed a bit farther than you."

That being said, he began to move cautiously toward Deck three.

Re: Warm Reception

Making no objection to going last T3-M8 instead passes the few moments of time required for Klyn to enter the ship inspecting it for details of make and model that could lead to information about how to behave once inside, or any signs of customization.  Once he is sure the human is done T3-M8 enters the ship and plugs into the first uplink he finds.

Reposted: T3-M8 rolled 20,32 using 1d20+15,1d20+15. Mechanics, Use Computer. The computer port is the preference if there is one, otherwise mechanics to get to somewhere there is a computer port.

Re: Warm Reception

Before he began his exploration, Klyn saw that someone was trying to contact them.

Apparently the others were stuck by a door.

"T3, could you see if you can find where the others are, and maybe help them?"

Back on the comlink
"Can you give us some data on where is that door? floor level, numbers on or above the door?"

Re: Warm Reception

Deep inside the engines Klyn and T3-M8 crawled into a cramped service tunnel. There are no ammenties, no computer terminals nor any comforts at all. They had flew into the engines exhaust and were inside its workings. T3-M8 was about to close the hatch which would protect them from the blast of the engines when the ship began to move then Olgo made an appearance. From the look of him it was getting very hot outside the crawlway. Oglo squeezed into the crawlway and its heat-resistant resistant plating which was now protecting them all from the tremendous blasts of the engines.

Making progress through the tunnels was slow and they were able to talk with the others in the airlock whilst they crawled through to the engineering deck.

Re: Warm Reception

Noticing movement, Klyn turned quickly toward the origin, blaster ready to fire, only to see Oglo.  A most unexpected sight, even if not the trouble he feared.

"Oglo?  How did you manage to get here?  No, don't answer, no time ! Hurry! There isn't much time and the others are stuck. We need to stop the engines, or at least slow them enough to prevent them to leave... and potentially kill our friends."

Doing his best to move as quickly as possible, Klyn checked a few time on the other team, hoping to hear some good news.

Re: Warm Reception

While not particularly restricted by the smaller size of the passageways in all likelihood designed for droid models about the same size T3-M8 keeps pace with the humanoids in terms of forward progress but makes numerous side trips to investigate side passageways and other interesting subsystems on the ship, or occasionally to sever some secondary or backup component's connection to the system, but never anything that will be noticed or cause interruption to the current function of the ship.

Re: Warm Reception

Making their way through the crawlway of the gunship was a slow and labourious task. T3-M8 made frequent pauses and tampered with what systems he could access. The tunnel only had limited access to the ship's systems, the crawlway was primarily designed to allows the ship's engineer to make repairs in flight. Once at the Engineering deck there would be access to much more important systems.

After about ten minutes Oglo, Klyn and T3-M8 were thrown suddenly to the floor as the ship lurched forward. Klyn and T3-M8 estimated that they must be near to the Engineering deck now.

OOC Oglo, Klyn and T3-M8 make Knowledge - Technology checks.

Re: Warm Reception

Klyn couldn't suppress the feeling they were moving too slow.  The others seemed in a dire situation and their few message looked more and more panicked.

Grunting, he tried to move faster. He was, after all, used to work in such place. He wouldn't forgive himself in he failed them and they all died because of it.

His train of thought is interrupted as the much feared acceleration of the ship began.

Their time flew now even faster as they would soon leave the atmosphere...

21:57, Today: Klyn Cors rolled 27 using 1d20+9. knowledge technology.

Re: Warm Reception

Clearly not looking for any key systems T3-M8 has modified only systems that are currently turned off.  Adjusting or disabling the backup systems in advance of whatever events may be in the ship's intimidate future, ensuring that should the primary systems go down they will stay down for a good long while without specific information leading to the modifications in question.

20:05, Today: T3-M8 rolled 21 using 1d20+5. Knowledge(Technology).

Re: Warm Reception

Despite not being at the controls or be able to see outside the ship both Klyn and T3-M8 can guess correctly that the Handree just went into hyperspace.
