Captured!

After the Desolator had dragged the Handree into its massive hangar area and the Rebel starship was flooded with stormtroopers and portable sensor units it was only a matter of time before the hiding Rebels were discovered. Desperately they destroyed what was left the computers and consoles. Wrecking them and all the vital Rebel intel they contained. Surrounded by stormtroopers what resistance they could muster was futile. Eventually everyone was captured and relieved of their weapons, manacled with binders and escorted out of the Handree into the docking bay.

The cavernous bay was filled with stormtroopers and Imperial officers lined in rigid rows. Standing at the head of the massive array of men was a tall, hunched man with large, grey bushy eyebrows. From Alliance holo-files the Imperial officer is easily recognisable as Admiral Grendreed of the Imperial Navy.

As you waited impotently a sensor engineer came out of the gunship carrying a black box. More Imperial engineers bustled around the box and plugged it into a computer deck. Something important must have been on the black box and urgent calls for the Admiral ensued. The Admiral viewed the computer screen, looked at you and smiled wickedly. He then handed the black box to one of his staff officers and said in a deep voice "load the last set of hyperspace coordinates listed on this cold storage box into the ship's navigation system and then delete all information from the box. We'll visit this Rebel planet personally. No need to inform the Navy of this until after the job is done, understand?" the officer only smiled and quickly left the docking bay in a turbolift.

After this the Admiral crossed the bay to the Rebels. Admiral Grendreef was a very tall man. His shoulders permanently stooped as he spent much of his life leaning down to talk to people "you are prisoners of the Empire. You are charged with sedition, treason, murder, theft, smuggling, destruction of Imperial property and various petty crimes too numerous to mention" he then turned to his lead sergeant "put them in a shuttle. We will continue this conversation down on the base, where I have better ...facilities... at my disposal" he then turned to another officer "have the ship ready for hyperspace in two hours. Make sure the planetary bombardment ordnance is fully operational"

Sixteen stormtroopers then lead the Rebels into a shuttle. Inside the shuttle each Rebel was confined to individual cells. Their manacles were not removed and each cell was secured in front by a blue-tinged force field. After what felt like too long the transport shuttle blasted off, although of course no-one could see the fact but felt it as the ship hummed and vibrated.

EXTERIOR: SPACE.

A prisoner transport shuttle glides away from the docking bay of the massive Star Destroyer Desolator. The camera pulls back to reveal the barren world of Miser below.

Wipe to ...

The shuttle approaches Miser's surface. it glides into a hangar bay built on the surface of the world. As soon as the ship enters, the bay's force shield goes up

Wipe to ...

INTERIOR: DETENTION CELL, MISER NAVAL BASE.

Close up of a sturdy mag-lock manacle. The camera pulls away to reveal the Rebels sitting on a bench against a wall, their hands and feet chained to the floor. The doorway is filled with a blue force field.

Re: Captured!

'Cruk.' Lyla concluded.

She'd rampaged about the ship, spending a lot of her remaining ordnance on obliterating the Handree's remaining computers and memory stores and even some personal effects. It was, if nothing else, very cathartic and she expelled her frustrations and fears in the destructive rage.

But when the Imperials finally came for her, she went unresisting: no struggles, no shootouts, no fights to the death. Because, when it came right down to it, she would always choose life. She wouldn't waste her life while she still had a glimmer of hope of survival, just as she had when she'd trekked the burning Bright Lands and the freezing Nightlands. She tried to console herself with the old Twi'leki proverb, to ride the storm rather than try to defeat it. It didn't make her feel any better, and she tried to cover her dread of what would befall her in Imperial hands.

She settled instead for complaining, cursing, and common snark against the Imperials, trying to maintain her defiance. When the bloody black box came, she'd cried 'Oh, come on!' They'd dropped frag grenades and blaster fire on that thing, but it was designed to survive a starship crash. No joy. But something was going on here. Deleting all information, not informing the Navy? There seemed that glimmer of hope. Isis should be being evacuated by now, with Rebels on full alert. Maybe they'd have a chance against the Desolator, and just maybe keep their secret.

But they had less hope. Lyla listened calmly as her list of charges was read out, then protested 'Hey, I never smuggled!' She guessed her time as a petty thief had been largely forgotten, or entirely overshadowed by the whole Rebellion thing. It was the Empire falsely accusing her last time that had put amongst the Rebels anyway. She commented to her fellow prisoners with half a smile 'Well, looks like they've forgotten that silly solicitation charge...'

Then she was in a detention cell at an Imperial naval base. She could have laughed; she never had been able to reach that prison on Felucia, and now here she was inside one. Instead, she was trying her damnedest not to cry.

'Cruk.' she said again for emphasis.

She tried the obvious: slipping her hands out of the binder cuffs. Hey, she was flexible, as her dancing days had showed. She twisted, writhed, squished. Nope.

But for them... there was little hope.

Re: Captured!

In the cell the Rebels made attempts to escape their bonds but all seemed futile. The manacles and their anchors set into the floor were either too tight or too strong for any of them to break free. Then as hope fades the shimmering force field comes down. Realising that a visitor is coming all hope is lost as Admiral Grendref entered the cell followed by four security guards dressed in black. Grendref peered around the room, looking for a suitable victim. Eventually and with typical Imperial anti-alien sentiment he signalled the guards to unshackle Lyla.

The four security guards then lead Lyla out of the cell and after Admiral Grendref walked out the force field came back to life.

In the hangar stormtroopers continued their search of the Handree. By side the starship and overlooked was an old T3 droid. The single eye of the oddly painted droid looked around as T3-M8 decided how it might help its companions.

It was a short walk along a single tunnel before Lyla was led into a dark chamber, lit only by harsh red lights. The shadows of many odd instruments and tools filled the room. Lyla recognises none of them. There are four armed stormtroopers here as well as Admiral Grendref and two security guards.

"Strap her in" the Admiral commanded the stormtroopers who immediately grabbed Lyla and strapped her into a cold metal chair. "I would like to introduce you to IT-O 26 Interrogation Droid. I believe you are destined to become quite good friends."

The Interrogator Droid advanced, its twin hypodermic needles targeted for Lyla's neck "there are some things that I would like to know about your Rebellion..."

Rynn tapped his manacles on the wall of the cell. "Yeah... this is going well for us." He said with a sigh.

He shot up, or tried to, when the field came down and Lyla was escorted out. "I'd yell after them to take me instead... but I have a feeling we will all be getting a chance. Hopefully I'll go last and one of you will break first... they won't try so hard when they get what they want." He said, laying his head back against the wall.

Re: Captured!

Then, after a long time of waiting probably designed to make them stew and fill them with dread, they came back. And Lyla knew this was for something bad. She lost her nerve then, when Grendreef pointed at her. She felt cold knives of terror stabbing in her back, the flight instinct, like she was an animal being chased by a predator, being brought down by claw and fang. As the Stormtrooper thugs unshackled her and roughly dragged her out, she struggled valiantly, desperately, and futilely, demanding them to let her go, declaring her innocence, and just wanting to stay in her damn cell.

But they took her out anyway.

Feeling like a dead Twi'lek walking, Lyla gripped the beads of her story-chain, tracing her fingers along the carved symbols. With each one, she remembered her life, her deeds and loves, her past; she remembered her family, the Rahn clan, the harsh and beautiful world of Ryloth that had made her strong and resilient. She'd survived worse than this, hadn't she? She murmured prayers to the Goddess, to give her strength to endure and adapt. By the time she found herself in the dark room, she'd found her courage again. I am a reed in the water. The wind shall blow and I shall bend but I will not break. I am a reed in the wind... I will not break. I am a reed...

'Hiya.' she said with as much good cheer as she could muster to the droid who would be torturing her today. Why did it have to be a droid? A sentient she could reason with.

Trying to ignore it, and the advancing needle points, she answered Grendreef, trying to maintain her courage through flippancy 'Well, you could always attend a meeting, get a pamphlet. There's a bake-sale coming up— What do they do? I'm not a big fan of needles...' she said, suddenly changing topic on Grendreef. She twisted her head to look at the oncoming needles, seeing how much head and neck movement she had.

And know it begins... the painful part where they go, one after another, to another room to be tortured until they say anything to make it stop.

The fact they probably would have more than one turn each at this 'interrogation' does nothing to improve Klyn's mood.

Their only hope lies with the possibility that T3 is still free... and that he can reach them before they are all too wounded and weak to move.

Klyn sighs deeply.

The odds aren't good.

Re: Captured!

Just as if nothing strange had happened, or that it had not taken a considerable amount of time to successfully infiltrate the base and it's existing service droids the still familiar T3-M8 rolls into the prison area along with a pair of other maintenance and cleaning bots, passing by the guarding storm troopers as if they were so much wall decoration.  For a few minutes it seems as if the droid has actually been converted into imperial service as it accompanies the other two significantly more generic looking ones through the simple system checks and the odd spot cleaning where a blood splatter still darkens the floors.

Only after the tasks are done an the other two depart does any differentiation become obvious as the T3 droid returns to the security system that it may have spent just a few moments extra while checking through the maintenance protocols such that powering down the force field is the work of but a moment's time, as well as opening up the local arms locker intended to be accessed only by the storm trooper guards.

Getting Out of the Cell

As the Rebels began to despair and thoughts of the torture Lyla would be suffering made them desperate then the familiar sight of T3-M8 appeared at the cell's doorway. Within a few beeps the archaic droid had the blue force field deactivated and the magnetic locks on their manacles clicked as they shut off.

By the time the remaining Rebels had broke free and rubbed the circulation back into their numb limbs T3-M8 had already trundled down a long corridor passed three more prison cells. All of which were empty. At the end of the corridor the T3 droid opened a supply closet. In the closet were four blaster pistols, ten medpac, a vibroblade, three glow rods and six complete sets of stormtrooper armour.

From the supply closet a rough tunnel led into a mine dung out by Ugnaughts decades ago. Back passed the prison cells the corridors split left and right. To the left was the stormtrooper checkpoint and the hangar with the Handree. To the right going deeper into the prison area and the Interrogation Chamber where Lyla was being tortured.

Strapped in it was a struggle for Lyla to see anything but the face of Admiral Grendreef. The big man towered over her and the twi'lek's humour failed to raise any smile from the Imperial. A wave of his hand signalled the droid to move closer, which Lyla noticed only by shadows over her shoulder. Then the prick of the needle as the Interrogation droid began to drug her.

"Rebel scum" Grendreef leaned in "your secrets will come, you choose how much pain do you wish to suffer first".

OOC Lyla make an Endurance check to avoid giving away information!

Re: Getting Out of the Cell

Tough crowd. Lyla thought bitterly as she didn't get a rise out of Grendreef. She winced as the needle jabbed into her neck, her skin crawling and stomach turning. She felt sick just at the thought of it. What the hell kind of crap were they sticking into her? Drugs, poisons, something to make her ill and weak? A fake to scare her? Shit in her veins. She had to keep her head, stay focused, stay strong. I am a reed in the wind. 'Just a little prick, huh?' she said, looking defiantly Grendreef in the eye, her lip curling in a smile. 'You must get that a lot.' Because provoking him into killing her seemed like a really good idea right now.

I am a reed in the wind. I will bend but I will not break. I will not break. 'You want secrets? Pain? Alright. I'll talk. As a girl I was locked in a refrigeration unit as a heatstorm incinerated my entire family. It raged for hours. The coolers failed and after the freezing, I started to cook. I wasn't always orange. I cut my knuckles busting out. I gathered what remained from the ashes and bones of my clan.'

'Then I trekked across the burning deserts of the Brightlands, the endless day-side of Ryloth. No shadows, light so bright it blinds. With sunburn and heatstroke, I walked. I walked until my feet were calloused and bleeding, my skin was cracked and peeling. I sheltered in caves and crevices. I barely slept, I had to keep watch for gutkurrs and lyleks. I scraped fungi off rocks, sucked water from springs, and gnawed on the bones of carcasses left by beasts. I survived.'

'Then I took the Nightlands, the eternal night-side. Ice so cold it burns, forests of crystals razor sharp. I shivered and sneezed. Guess what, I survived there too.'

'Later I lived on the streets, around spaceports, in the alleys, and in the gutter. I stowed away on ships, hiding in crates and equipment for hours, all folded up. I stole and scrounged for credits and food. Left-overs nicked from bins. I did whatever I had to to survive. I'm not ashamed.'

'That's why the Empire will fall and the Rebels will win. Because we have suffered more. There is nothing you can do that won't turn more people against you, no level of suffering you can inflict that won't make us stronger or more determined.'

She went on, staring at Grendreef with reckless defiance. 'I have been in crashing starships and sandcrawlers. I have been shot by blasters, stabbed by knives, and slashed by claws. I've looked death in the eye. I have walked in sweltering jungles, freezing ice, and burning deserts. I walked naked beneath the twin suns of Tatooine. I have walked through hell and back. I have known hunger and discomfort, delirium and sleeplessness, agony and suffering, freezing cold and burning heat.'

'So I choose Pain. She's an old friend of mine.'
And how could she break now, after that? It was a promise to herself, a vow, a reminder that she could go on, and on, and on.

I am a reed in the wind.

"I believe it's our only option. There is no other way we could even try to move here without being stopped.  With this and a bit of luck we will at least be able to free Lyla. Once she is safe, we can talk about how to get out of here without being  caught in the tractor beam again."

And he quickly begins to put the stormtrooper armor. Not used to such things, he feels a bit clumsy.

Re: Getting Out of the Cell

The overbearing Imperial Admiral, the stormtroopers and the Interrogation droid failed utterly to intimidate Lyla or drug her. Defiantly Lyla resisted all their attempts. Admiral Grendreef, was slow to anger however. Whatever Lyla told him he nodded and accepted it "oh we haven't finished yet" he warned her. In his eyes Lyla could see he was a nasty man and his thirst to prove himself more than the lesser known officer he was strong.

He stepped away and circled the interrogation chair, Lyla could tell he was pacing behind her as his voice strayed "you will break like they all do" he warned.

Whilst hiding the closet the Rebels hear nothing outside and hastily begin to don the armour. The armour is awkward to wear but give them the comfort of being able to blend in. Blaster pistols also picked up it was time to decide which way to go. Thoughts of what torture their friend Lyla must be suffering lingered darkly in their minds.

OOC After such a great performance last round I'll give Lyla a free round before she gets injected again.

Those who put on stormtrooper armour will suffer -2 Armour Check Penalty on Attack rolls, Acrobatics, Climb, Endurance, Initiative, Jump, Stealth and Swim. But on the plus side will be able to move around the base much more easily.

Lyla's smile was unseen by Grendreef. So, he wanted to talk too, more than she did even. Well, they were here for an interrogation,  it didn't matter which way the questions went. She shrugged,  as much as she could under the restraints.  'Eh, maybe. But not before whatever I know is no longer useful to you. What are you planning anyway? Shouldn't you have reported this to your bosses? ' He seemed the sort to gloat and boast,  and he'd specifically ordered his crew not to inform the rest of the Imperial navy, so evidently he wanted the glory of destroying the Isis base himself.

Rather than simply lead a squad of storm troopers through a base that they should be at least marginally familiar with T3-M8 takes some advance precautions.  Before departing the detention center a map of their most likely rout is displayed in full holographic detail to offer a unified perspective of the task.  In addition to that every data pad and com link available to the storm trooper armored infiltrators is updated with the base's layout and a data set to receive only from T3's master map as the situation evolves.  Only then does the small droid accompany the group of storm troopers on what is obviously important business.

Re: Getting Out of the Cell

A tall man Admiral Grendreef had to stooped to peer down at Lyla as he circled the torture chamber to face her again. He eyed the Twi'lek suspiciously but perhaps he was the type to gloat or she had been successful in tricking him to reveal his own hand "we shall let Imperial Command decide whether I have decided wisely when I destroy your rebel base. Then I shall be off this world and have the command of the Desolator permanently" the interrogation droid buzzed again as it hovered over Lyla's shoulder at a signal from Grendreef. She felt the prick of its needle and the wooziness in her head as the drugs muddle her mind "now where is the REBEL BASE?" he demanded poking her in the chest with a finger.

When they had the stormtrooper armour on T3-M8 projected a map of the detention area in front of them. The interrogation room was just around the corner and away from the stormtrooper checkpoint. T3-M8 also uploaded data and maps into the stormtrooper armour's integrated helmet package. The droid was as ever thoughtful and efficient. It's robotic circuits had failed to consider the fallibility of its organic counterparts. None of the crew of Alabak's Gold had any idea how to access them or the inbuilt multi-frequency traget acquisition system.

Dentention Block

OOC Lyla make another Endurance check to resist the drugs and interrogation.

In the other group I need to know who has put armour on and if anyone hasn't. Then your plan of how you will rescue Lyla. As no one has armour proficiency many of the in built systems within the helmet are inaccessible just like when Luke and Han put them on and couldn't use the comlinks in the films.

P.S. You are currently in the tiny room near the bottom, to the left of the mining area. Which I somehow failed to label when doing the map.

This time she didn't wince as the second needle stabbed into her neck. She could feel her mind growing cloudy, confused, like with heat stroke, but she tried to pull back and let it pass, to think calmly and clearly. So, he did want to destroy the base himself. And— and what? And he hadn't told his bosses. They had something there. Something. If they could kill him. Destroy the... whatsit. The black box. No, the coordinates went somewhere else. Navigation system? Great! Now all she had to go was escape. And survive. Reed in the wind. But, wait, why... why was he interrogating her, if he already had the coordinates? For fun?

She felt loathing as he poked her in the chest. 'Uh-uh. No touching, sweetie.' she told Grendreef with a stern smile, taken back to her dancing days and touchy patrons. Though normally their positions would be reversed. 'I used to be a dancer. So how's about you sit here and I entertain? she teased with a devilish, seductive grin. Regardless of Admiral Grendreef's renewed attempt to break Lyla she proved too tough for the Imperial Officer. The big human hunched over her and licked his lips at her proposal. He never had an opportunity to response as the blast doors slid open to reveal three stormtroopers.

Re: Rescue from the Torture Chamber

Lyla's eyes flicked across to the door, seeing more stormtroopers. 'Come to watch, huh? Well, aren't I popular? The more the merrier.' After all, the more of Grendreef's minions who saw her mock and humiliate him, the better. Maybe they'd lose respect for him. Maybe he'd snap and shoot her in a fit of pique. She could have her revenge from the grave. Yeah, that'd be nice.

'So, rebel base, huh?' Lyla licked her lips, swallowed, tried to clear the bad taste in her mouth. 'Well, everybody's looking for something.' she sighed. 'Who am I to disagree?' she went on, voice taking on a beat, eyes showing defiance as she answered 'Okay, you travel the worlds, and the galaxy. Coz' everybody's looking for something.' Then she sang, dancing in the interrogation chair as much as the straps would allow her.

'Some of them want to use you.
Some of them want to get used by you.
Some of them want to abuse you.
Some of them want to be abused.'

'Hey-hey-hey-hey... oh-oh-oh-ah-ooh.

'Sweet dreams are made of this.
Who am I to disagree?
I travel the worlds,
And the galaxy.
Everybody's looking for something.'

'Come on, interrogation droid, gimme a tune!'

Maybe it was just all the drugs they'd pumped into her...

Bopping up away to the tune, Lyla looked up at the Stormtrooper's words. Did she sound familiar? 'Woohoo! Yeah! Re: Rescue from the Torture Chamber

For the moment Admiral Grendreef was no longer interested in Lyla and he ignored her singing when he might have once enjoyed it or tortured her more. He eyed the stormtroopers at the doorway suspiciously. The news that his prisoners had escaped brought a look of fury across the Admiral's face "you come to tell me that!" he was obviously angry and shocked. If the other prisoners were lost it made Lyla more precious and he would not give her up so lightly. He signalled for two of the detention guards to check out Tera's story and raise the alarm. The guards quickly rushed from the interrogation room and switched on their comlinks.

Lyla kept singing the words and humming through the instrumental bits, but was secretly wondering what was keeping her friends and, well, acquaintances. That had been them in the Stormtrooper suits, hadn't it? What if it wasn't? Had they escaped and fled without her? Had they all been killed? Not knowing, with all that doubt and fear and dread, was painful. Maybe she was alone now, and she'd have to rescue herself, or die trying.

At least Grendreef seemed to have given up on interrogating her. Maybe her little sing-along had gotten him worrying he'd put too much drugs in her. She seemed to be getting along okay for someone who'd never tried anything of the kind before. Apart from liberal libations, her body was a temple. She'd just meant what she'd said when she'd said she could endure anything.

Under cover of some restraining dancing (more like writhing limply in her torture seat), Lyla tried to work her slender wrists out of the straps that held her down. Still no luck. 'Hey, Grendie! What's the hold up? You gonna bore me into talking?'

Re: Rescue from the Torture Chamber

As the Admiral abandoned the remaining troopers their loyalty was unfazed. The presence of stormtroopers, the Empire's elite troopers lent some courage to the troopers who fired on Tera and Rynn. Both rebels were left sore, especially the less battle hardened Rynn who was almost knocked off his feet.

The stormtroopers were slow to response but did so with calculated efficiency. The injured stormtrooper crouched down and laid down suppressive fire whilst the other two caught Tera in their cross fire. After the Jedi had so easily knocked down their comrade she was clearly target number one.

Torture Chamber

OOC Hit Tera for 9 and 8 damage, hit Rynn for 16. Supression against Tera -2 penalty on next attack. Rynn's action is completed, everyone else can act before the Imperials get their next action.

Re: Rescue from the Torture Chamber

Could the droid even get through the fight and release her in time? Lyla couldn't wait to find out. 'Then again, not the first time I've been cuffed...' Lyla muttered, then picked up her song again as she continued to frantically work her wrists against the metal straps. Blood welled from scrapes and cuts, smeared over orange skin. Oh good. Lubricant. She continued to sing, something to focus and clear her mind.

'Some of them want to use you.
Some of them want to get used by you.
Some of them want to abuse you.
Some of them want to be abused.'

"I choose Pain"?, she reminded herself, wondering. Goddess, what the frack was I thinking? With desperate effort, like a beast that would break a bone or gnaw off a leg to escape a trap, Lyla savagely twisted her left forearm around, jerked her arm back, and wrenched her hand right through a space it didn't rightly fit through, lubricated by fresh blood. She'd cut up her thumb and earned a sprained wrist for her troubles, but, by the Goddess, she was free!

'Sweet dreams are made of this.
Who am I to disagree?
I travel the worlds,
And the galaxy.
Everybody's looking for something.'

She battered her broken, bleeding hand against the other strap, and tore it open, releasing her right arm. 'No worries, I got it.' She then pulled away the collar around her neck, then hurled herself forward to bend over and reach the cuffs around her ankles. 'I hope someone's got a blaster for me!'

Re: Rescue from the Torture Chamber

Ducking behind the torture chair Tera began to tear off the awkward stormtrooper armour. With the absence of Admiral Grendreef there was no one paying Lyla any attention and with some wriggling the Twi'lek slipped her bonds and was ready to share some of her pain with the Imperials that faced her.

Protectively Klyn covered the two rebels as he blasted away another stormtrooper. The team's latest recruit however took another shot from a trooper and fell unconscious to the ground. Co-ordinating their attacks on the last rebel still with a gun in their hand the stormtroopers injured Klyn but it wasn't the first time Klyn had been cornered by stormtroopers and he defiantly fought on.

Torture Chamber

OOC Tera can remove her armour but reasonably to take off stormtrooper armour is going to take at least a minute or 10 rounds.

Lyla is free and can now act. There is indeed a stormtrooper blaster laying near her feet.

Klyn is hit for 10 damage. Rynn is knocked unconscious and is required to expend a Force Point to avoid death.

Time for you to finish them off before they keep making lucky rolls and hitting you all despite your high Reflex Defences.

Re: Rescue from the Torture Chamber

After all the drugs, the sudden movement made her light-tailed, and Lyla fell out of her chair. Recovering, she crawled frantically out of the line of fire, keeping her head low, before scurrying for cover behind the torture chair. Once it had hurt her, now it could protect her.

'Is this any time to change, Tera?' she hissed, snatching up the dropped blaster pistol. She drew a bead on the Stormtrooper in the corner, and fired. He could be the target of her revenge, she decided, before she got to the interrogation droid.

Suddenly, pew pew pew, three of the Stormtroopers were downed and the Rebels were on the verge of victory. Yet for Lyla it wasn't over yet; she had one more enemy in mind, overlooked and forgotten. "Tera, check on Rynn!   T3, see if you can find any info about the reinforcements and the best route to a safe ship.  I'm afraid we have to abandon the supply... Too bad we don't have time to bypass the securities on it and make it explode once we are away."

Re: Rescue from the Torture Chamber

Getting the hang of things despite the stormtrooper armour the rebels finished off the last trooper and Lyla got her revenge on the interrogation droid. Around the room the fallen Imperials provided them with plenty of blaster pistols and power packs. They also now had more stormtrooper armour. The Imperial troopers worn blast helms and vest along with their uniform and carried separate comlinks. It would be unlikely that any but Tera or Klyn could get away with passing for an Imperial trooper if any wanted to try. Among the many torture devices are plenty of other items which Tera can use to scavenge a couple of medpacs.

OOC If the party decide to try chasing Admiral Grendreef I will consider the encounter ongoing and Lyla can retain her last temporary Force Point for the chase.

Re: Rescue from the Torture Chamber

Climbing to her feet, Lyla rushed over to the fallen interrogation droid and gave it an emphatic kick, an explosive, cathartic release of tension and terror. She put a dent in its shell. It made her feel better, a little. But then she reeled, had to lean against the wall, her head spinning, her brain-tails waving from the drugs still in her system. She was resisting their effects, whatever they were, but what would they do later on? She had no time to worry now. She continued humming that damn song, anything to focus her mind.

'Sweet dreams are made of this.
Who am I to disagree?
I travel the worlds,
And the galaxy.
Everybody's looking for something.
'

Recovering, she snatched up a spare power pack for her blaster pistol. It was no good her wearing Stormtrooper armour and helmets, not being bright orange and long, thick lekku dangling from her head.

Then she ran to the door Grendreef had disappeared through, bloody fingers working desperately to get it open. 'We gotta get after Grendreef. He wants to destroy the base himself. If we can stop him, get T3 to the Desolator's navigation system and delete the coordinates, we've still got a chance to save it.'

Rynn dazedly sat up from where he lay on the ground. "At least I shot em down... didn't mean to make the whole tunnel collapsed." He said, as he went to rub his head where it was aching, but his hand was blocked by the helmet his was wearing. He fumbled with it for a few minutes before knocking it to the ground. "What the hell's going on?"

He said rolling over to his hands and knees. "Wait... nope, it's coming back to me." He said looking around at the dead bodies on the ground. "I guess we got em.... everyone ok?"

Re: Rescue from the Torture Chamber

An adequate use of force and anger gets the door Grendreef escaped through torn open. Lyla looked down some steps that lead into a rough tunnel. T3-M8 beeps that the tunnel must lead through the old mines. The droid did not find any other information as the official records have it as disused and off limits. The map of the base has a closed entrance to the mines at the hangar if they could find their way to it. Unfortunately it appears that comlinks are useless in the tunnels due to magnetic interference.

Lyla stared in surprise down the tunnel. 'Who the hell puts a secret passage in a jail cell?' she wondered. It seemed like something of a glaring security flaw... Well, she wasn't about to look a gift bantha in the mouth.

Hearing the talk behind her, Lyla looked back, jaw set with determination. 'Well, I ain't passing as a Stormtrooper. I'm taking the tunnel. And getting that bastard.' she vowed, checked her pistol, then disappeared down the old mine tunnel with a flick of her tails.

She easily spotted Grendreef's footprints in the soft asteroid dirt, and followed them like a lylek on a blood-hunt. When it got dark, her keen Twi'lek eyes pierced the gloom. The hunter would have her prey.

Re: Getting Out of the Cell

The Admiral must have kept an secret entrance in the Interrogation Chamber for his own amusement. The entrance had now given him a chance to escape. Lyla wasn't going to let the Imperial get away easy though. She raced into the darkness and began to hunt him down.

T3-M8 assisted Tera in healing Rynn who was stable and with a bit of courage would be able to resume his battle against the Empire. Klyn had a chance to grab a couple of glow rods.

In the tunnels as Lyla left the Interrogation Chamber behind it soon became dark. Her eyes were able to see well in the dark but in total darkness she would be as blind as the others. As the tunnel became a crossroads Lyla saw that Grendreef had taken the right turn. She began to follow it but as the light behind began to fade she would be unable to follow the trail further without a light source.

OOC Rolled on behalf of T3-M8 and Tera for healing on Rynn, he's now on 10 hit points. If Rynn uses his Second Wind he'll be back on full health.

I'm assuming Klyn, Tera and Rynn remain in their stormtrooper disguises until I'm told otherwise.

With the light from glow rods Lyla and Klyn were able to move much faster. As the mine tunnel bent and turned Lyla keenly following the tracks left by the big man that was Admiral Grendreef as he rushed to escaped. They navigated two crossroads before a little confused Lyla pulled them to a halt. Tracks led both left and right? There had to be a reason but the scout would have to puzzle it out or trust to luck and follow one.

Re: Getting Out of the Cell

Beginning to grope her way down the tunnels as the light gave out, Lyla was debating whether to go back and hope the others could come up with a light source, or to just press on into the dark and trust to her ears and instincts. After all, she did some of her best work in the dark. She was on the verge of going on when Klyn came hurrying and hollering down the tunnel behind her. She slowed so he could catch up, bringing a glow rod with him. 'Glad you came. Good idea.' she said of the glow rod, then resumed her hunt.

She stopped at the next crossroads and, crouching, examined the prints in the soft, dark-grey asteroid dirt. Left? Right? Well, Grendreef might have secrets squirreled away all through this asteroid, and used this place before, or he'd gone one way then doubled back in an effort to ditch pursuers. She tried to determine which set of prints went over the other set, but in this case the dirt was too soft to show the necessary detail.

'Klyn, you must've got a better look at this place. Which way do you think?'

As darkness surrounded them behind and in front they saw a side tunnel shooting off to the left. Again searching the ground for signs of passage they found Imperial bootprints crisscrossing the junction.

Suspicious that something was awry or that they might be fooled into entering a trap Rynn, Klyn and the plucky droid T3-M8 went to investigate the other tunnel. The tunnel split with tracks in both directions. It didn't take much investigation however to find that both led to deadends. What Grendreef had been doing here was a mystery.

The Shuttle

The haphazard trail left by Grendreef made it clear that he was having a good amount of trouble getting through the maze of tunnels. Of course following his tracks and identifying the correct route was also slow going too with examination of the ground and boot prints at each intersection they crossed.

After a few wrong turns and careful searching they reached a crossroads with stairs leading up at the left tunnel. At the top of the stairs is indeed the shuttle hangar as T3-M8 had promised. There are alarms ringing and red lights flashing. Staying back and in the dark they are able to spy on a heavily panting Grendreef. The Admiral talks to a group of stormtroopers, who he orders down one of the base's corridors. He then entered the shuttle's entry ramp. A single stormtrooper guard is at the foot of the ramp.

"It might not let us in....but it might let us get close." Tera suggested. "If we claim we recaptured the rebel...."

Re: The Shuttle

If the twi'lek had eyebrows, she would have raised one at the idea. 'Really? You want to pull that trick again?' She looked back at the shuttle ramp, and great distance between separating them, estimating how long it would take. Too far, too long. 'It's worth a shot. I doubt we could get to the shuttle before they close the ramp.'

'But seeing me and Tera will make him suspicious. He'll comlink it in to Grendreef, especially if Grendreef's told him what you did... How about just Klyn and Rynn go over, take him out, then we follow?'

Re: The Shuttle

"I don't have an especially high view of stormtroopers reasoning capabilities. I mean....we even had the admiral going for a bit." Tera shrugged. "Ok...how about this. Klyn and Ryn approach him, I'll be behind you with a gun drawn as if you're a prisoner. That way if the duo can't take the storm trooper out...we have a drop on him and with blasters. Stormtroopers surrender sometimes...."

Re: The Shuttle

"I agree" said Klyn to Lyla
"We can't give him time to react or use his internal comlink, so surrendering is not an option..." he added for Tera.
"I will go with Ryn first, with the rest of you standing by at the corner. That way if things go wrong, you can reach the shuttle quickly while one of us take care of the guard and the other one make sure the shuttle don't close."

Re: The Shuttle

'That's what I said.' Lyla agreed with Klyn's plan, more or less. She looked at the stolen blaster pistol, missing her trusty, kinda rusty ex-Clone Trooper-issue blaster rifle with scope. Would she ever get the Girl's Best Friend back? 'If I had my rifle, I could take him out from here.' she moaned.

"You sure you we just want to start blasting?" Rynn asked. "Not that I mind... just ya know, we could do this all quiet like, if she," jerking his head toward Tera, "Tries talking to him."

"Or we can just nearly flank him, and hit him from both sides."

Tera looked offended "Hey!!!" before pausing "Oh...you meant that in a good way." she glanced over where the stormtrooper was waiting. "Why don't you and Ryn head up to talk to him while I follow closely behind with lyla like a prisoner that way we're all close to the entry ramp when stuff happens and if things go bad, we can all just blast him when we're close."

Re: The Shuttle

The walk across the hangar was fraught with dangers. They were in the middle of an Imperial Base whilst stormtroopers where searching for a group of escaped rebels. Each step they took away from the safety of the tunnels left them more exposed to surveillance, where an observer might spot their awkwardness in the armour or their identity as rebels.

Halfway across a maintenance droid trundled by and bleeped loudly at T3-M8 but after a series of buzzing clicks from the T3 droid it hurried away. Then their most difficult challenge presented itself. The group stood at the ramp of the shuttle, the lone stormtrooper guard stared at them.

Re: The Shuttle

As they got closer and closer to the guard, Klyn wished he had taken Tera's position.
He always had trouble when talking with living beings, and the current level of stress certainly didn't help.

Taking a deep breath... and mentally checking his hands position on his weapon he started their attempt.

"We found one of the prisoners as they tried to escape in some tunnels.

I believe the admiral will be pleased to get her back."

Re: The Shuttle

The walk across the hangar floor was long and tense, especially for Lyla, who couldn't cover her face and had to look unhappy and defeated the whole way across, when her heart thudded in her chest with terror that they might be spotted and caught out. She kept her hands behind her back, wrists pressed together as if bound, which was uncomfortable position even without restraints.

'Apparently he's not done interrogating me yet.' Lyla muttered sourly, to suggest she was somehow valuable to Grendreef.

OOC: So, I wanted to roll Deception to assist Klyn, and got a 1 twice. :( I blew my temporary FP and that wasn't much better. Deception 11, beats DC 10 and gives a +2 circumstance bonus to Klyn.
10:18, Today: Lyla Rahn rolled 9 using 1d20+8. deception.

Tera snarled "Save your talk for the interrogation chamber rebel scum. The Admiral needs to know the location of the rebel base. Till then, be quiet,"  Tera forced Lyla forward roughly. "This one is the important one, the others can be killed."

Re: The Shuttle

Marched up the ramp like a prisoner Lyla passes the lone stormtrooper guard without any hitches. Inside the shuttle are two rows of seats. Many are already occupied by stormtroopers. They take little notice of the new arrivals. They remain as menacing as their reputation as they coldly sit and wait for their orders. Before there's a chance to change their plan or make an escape the entry ramp rises and the sound of the shuttle engines increases as they prepare for take off.

Re: The Shuttle

Wondering if maybe Tera was a little too good at the abusive Imperial officer act, Lyla stumbled up the ramp and boarded the shuttle, making sure to make a last half-hearted escape attempt on the way. Getting aboard might have been a relief, if the place hadn't been chock full of Stormtroopers. Here they were in the lylek's den, and trapped there with them. 'Mmm, a ship full of strapping Stormtroopers, it's a dream come true.' she deadpanned. She might be playing the part of a prisoner, but she wasn't about to be a meek one. 'Well, let's start with the Admiral.'

Re: The Shuttle

Tera motioned Lyla towards an empty seat. "Take a seat rebel scum. One more word out of you and I and every last trooper on this shuttle will take turns in making sure your ride is as unpleasant as possible. No tricks. No more words. Silence is the only thing I expect from you. Do I make myself clear?" Tera sat down beside Lyla.

Forbidden from saying anything, Lyla didn't say anything, and dropped down into the empty seat. How the cruk were they going to get out of this?
