Final Gambit

The shuttle continues to fly upward and toward the Star Destroyer Desolator. As the shuttle draws nearer and into the docking bay through the viewport the Handree can be seen. The Corellian gunship has various umbilical attachments leading from it and to the Star Destroyer.

Passed the Handree the shuttle lands. The landing ramp automatically lowers. All the stormtroopers stand and march out. As the last one leaves he looks backs "what are you doing? You know that the bay has to be cleared before entering hyperspace".

"We are to await with the prisoner. Orders are should be coming soon." Rynn responded, hoping they'd all just leave them to be so they could figure out what to do.

Re: Final Gambit

Tera nodded as she remained seated beside Lyla. "This one is marked for enhanced interrogation techniques. We're waiting for the location." she added, sounding bored.

Lyla snorted. 'I know where. The admiral's quarters.' she muttered sourly, hoping the others took the hint.

OOC: A 20, damn it. That's just to give a +2 to Tera's roll.
11:34, Today: Lyla Rahn rolled 28 using 1d20+8. deception - cooperation.

Re: Final Gambit

Klyn kept silent, knowing his lack of social skills could ruin the bluff constructed by the others.  His previous attempt, a sheer luck success, still has him a bit rattled.

Re: Final Gambit

"I didn't hear anything about that" the stormtrooper replied to Rynn. Then as Tera spoke his gaze moved to scrutinise her. Finally he nodded "understood" answering blankly, turned and walked down the ramp. Through the viewport the rebels can see into the hangar. It is now clear of stormtroopers.

Re: Final Gambit

Tera waited until the stormtrooper left. "Okay, now we dodged that blaster bolt. How do we rescue the Handree, get out of here and destroy the coordinates?" Tera glanced at the others "Well, we have several options. We could always just jaunt onto the bridge and delete them from the navcomputer....but that's not an optimal choice....or I could just try breaking into the Nav computer from a terminal in the cargo bay. Which I'm fairly confident I can do. It still leaves us with a larger issue....how to free the Handree....or at least grab the medical supplies and put them on a ship we can steal...that can outrun a Star Destroyer."

Re: Final Gambit

As the Stormtroopers finally left, Lyla breathed out a great sigh of relief, an explosive release of long-held tension after keeping still so long while being surrounded by an enemy who would murder them at the slightest suspicion. 'Frak. We have a real pair of tails, don't we?'

'We're better off stealing back the Handree, it's got all the goods still aboard and too much evidence. Plus, it's ours.' she decided, resolved to take back the Rebel ship and finally complete the long-delayed Polmanar mission. 'Tera, maybe you and T3 can get to that computer and wipe the coordinates, or scramble or sabotage them or something. Like,  swap them for a black hole.' she suggested spitefully, but it would definitely solve their problems. 'The rest of us can try to take back the Handree or get Grendreef. But I have to stay out of sight, you won't pass me off as a Stormtrooper.'

OOC: Sorry,  I used the wrong colour on my tablet. I will fix it later.

Re: Final Gambit

"Going for that admiral might be a bit much, don't you think? I can appreciate a certain need for revenge, but it would hurt us in the long run. We need to damage or hurt the Star Destroyer enough that it cannot follow us, even if we can liberate the Handree." Tera tried to sound sympathetic, she knew what Lyla had gone through wasn't easy and may have left her with a need to get revenge. "Just think on it though if he tells his higher ups he has the location of a secret rebel base and it turns out he has nothing."

"If we can make it to the bridge I can wipe the Isis Coordinates out completely in a few seconds..." He said nodding to Terra's idea. "It's too bad we can't pack this shuttle with explosives... but we need to find some way to disable the tractor beam."

Re: Final Gambit

'This ain't about revenge,' Lyla muttered defensively, still trying to keep the fear to the back of her mind, where it lurked and shuddered in the dark. 'Though I want to give him a good kicking. He didn't hurt me, or anything, much. I don't know what they injected me with... Frack, I was trying to talk him into a private show to make an escape attempt, when you lot came barging in...' Lyla looked away, feeling disgusted with herself for even trying to seduce him. But she'd done a lot she wasn't proud of to survive. That was why she wanted to hurt Grendreef – to make things clear, to show she wasn't that sort of twi'lek. She hated Grendreef for putting her in a position where she had to try it.

'Grendreef demanded to know where the base was – I don't know why, if he's got the coordinates. Maybe to double-check? Don't worry, I didn't tell him anything. But he hasn't told his superiors anything. He wants the glory of destroying the base himself, to get full command of this star destroyer. If he's the only one who knows, then taking him out will safeguard the base. But if he gets nothing, then his bosses are none the wiser.'

Re: Final Gambit

"Wiping the coordinate is very easy: it can be done from any access, even here in the hangar" agreed Klyn.

"Getting the admiral, on the other hand, must be close to impossible: the ship is huge and each step could get us in trouble.  The best course of action would be to get the ship and, somehow, hinder or destroy the destroyer.

If I get to a engeneering area, maybe T3 and I could create some havok, but I don't think they will let us go far enough to cause a chain reaction..."

As the hangar bay is sealed the thump of the blast doors can be heard in the shuttle. The Rebels would have to begin work on their plan.

"Okay, I can handle computers. Who among us can get the handree ready for departure without setting off alarms? I wonder if the handree fired its weapons from inside the ship how much devastation that might cause." Tera asked.

Re: Final Gambit

Well, we could make the change to set coordinate to a black hole, but it would require some good coordination to leave with the handfree - which would need to cut the tractor beam - just before they jump.
If they notice anything weird, they will cancel the jump.

I believe either T3 or myself could be able to start the Handsfree."

"The ship might be damaged enough to be unable to go into hyperspace. I think you and M3 should go check it out and tell us if we can use it safely and then think of creative ways for us to cripple the star destroyer." Tera made her way to one of the computers. "I can do the coordinate deletion."

'A bright orange twi'lek is going to stick out like a sore tail on an Imperial star destroyer.' Lyla pointed out glumly, disappointed she wouldn't be able to go with Tera and raise some havoc. 'I better go with Klyn to the Handree, provide some back-up. Unless you think you can continue the Wookiee Prisoner Gambit?'

Rynn sucked through his teeth. He didn't like the way this was sounding. Most of the group was going to the Handree. "Any tips on dealing with the Tractor beam then? Don't know any thing about them myself."

Tera looked thoughtful "Short of blasting it...perhaps we can schedule it to be taken offline for maintenance...something which means they couldn't put it together in time when we head out of here."

Re: Final Gambit

The hangar now sealed and empty the rebels emerged from the Imperial shuttle. Together they crossed to the Handree  to see that the rebel starship was still in one piece.

Klyn goes on board and starts the engine. Everything is running fine, a quick inventory shows that the medical supplies are also on board.

Re: Final Gambit

Walking across the hangar deck back to the Handree wasn't the longest walk of Lyla's life, nor the most dangerous, but it certainly felt like it was right up there. She worried that at any moment, some Imperial would spot her and sound the alarm, shoot them in the back, or space them. She could feel a spot itching on her back, like eyes or a targeting scope were on it.

But, at last, somehow, they made it back into the Rebel ship, and Lyla breathed a sigh of relief, and again when everything checked out. She was surprised the ship was in the midst of being searched by Stormtroopers. 'Well, I'd call that a stroke of luck, but I don't we're quite up to lucky yet. Let's keep the engines warm then get to these coordinates. Should I stay here and guard the ship?'
