Bron looks to Tera and starts to concentrate, but it is not long before he grabs his head and winces in severe pain.

Tera looked concerned as she saw Bron's head wrinkle in pain. "You know I'm sure I have something in my medkit that'll help that." Tera reached into her pack for something to help the headache.

13:44, Today: Tera Inkari rolled 16 using 1d20+9.  Treat Injury.

Waving off Tera's offer to help, Bron says "It will pass, but thank you"

His head finally clearing after a few moments, Bron looks at Tera and says "There is much one can do with the Force, you simply need to feel it. There are also things one should never do with the Force. We do not attack, we defend. That saber is an extension of yourself and your ability to use the Force, with time you can learn ways to manipulate the Force through your lightsaber."

"Don't be a baby. I am a fully qualified naval surgeon. There's no point in tolerating pain when you don't have to. This medication is not addictive or harmful. It'll just take the edge off so you don't get cranky and we still have a long way to travel."

Folding her arms across her chest, Tera appeared unsympathetic towards Bron tolerating his pain. "I've...used the Force before. It's hard not to in this place....but you can actually use it with a weapon? Isn't that...oh I don't know antithetical to the Jedi code?"

Bron smiles, the pain gone he says "The force is neither light nor dark, it is in how you use it. For example, there are those that would use their abilities to obtain valuable information to stop a devastating attack on innocent lives. However, there are also those who would use that same ability to gain valuable information to plan that devastating attack on innocents."

Bron looks at Tera for a few moments before pulling out his own lightsaber. It begins to float above his hand, with a thought he flips the switch turning the lightsaber on. The saber begins to rotate, as it angles itself upwards as to not hit anyone. Soon it is making circles at roughly a forty-five degree angle.

"The same Force that allows me to do this, would allow me to throw my lightsaber at my enemy, or pull it to myself in defense."

Tera nodded "So it's all in perspective is it? If I choose to strike someone down because it proves my power over them, then this is dark. If I strike someone down as he is attempting to harm those I care about then it is light?" Tera watched the lightsaber swirl in the air around Bron. "If you don't mind, I'll leave trying that till later."

Bron smiles in Tera's understanding and says "Exactly, but remember that the Force is in itself life, and knows the difference between malice and defense. With the use of the dark side, comes power and corruption. However, with the use of the light side comes peace and long life."

The saber shuts off and returns to Bron's hand, he glances at it for a moment before asking "You are undoubtedly skilled in combat, but how much melee combat have you experienced?"

Tera looked at Bron "I lived on Tattoine for a cycle." as if that would be more than enough explanation as to her experience in all forms of combat.

"What do you mean corruption?" she asked as her brain caught up with everything Bron had said.

Bron thinks for a few moments before answering, "With the dark side, prolonged use and exposure can leave marks on ones body and soul. The eyes turn a hue of red that is not natural, and the skin becomes greyish and cracked"

Not sure if that was the answer Tera was looking for or not, Bron looks at the surrounding landscape and says "A lightsaber is a unique weapon, it is not the weighted blade one might be used to, nor is it clumsy and random like a blaster. It is elegant and regale from a more civilized age"

"I don't think blasters are either clumsy or random. Point...shoot...you get what you expect. What you're suggesting sounds like confirmational bias since it's the weapon you use most often." Tera looked quizzically at Bron "Which implies you have an amotional attachment to your weapon." Tera said, leaving her point about emotion not necessarily being bad unvoiced.

Nodding along with Tera, Bron smiles and says "I learned how to use a saber long before ever touching a blaster, I was young when my Master found me, but not young enough to be accepted by the Jedi Enclave. The lightsaber, can be used for many purposes. It is a tool rather than a weapon, do not mistake me however it is quite deadly in the right hands and very dangerous in the wrong hands."

Turning to have the speeder stop along some crystal outcroppings, Bron said "Here allow me to demonstrate" as he hopped out of the speeder and walked over to a crystalline wall like structure.

Tera tried not to sound cynical as she said "Are you sure you want to do that? I mean you have a headache. Exerting yourself might not be wise."

Bron pulls he lightsaber from his belt, and turns it on while holding it straight up. With his off hand he pats the crystal saying "The lightsaber is a tool like none other" as he take the lightsaber in both hands and pushes the tip towards the crystal. At first the crystal starts to glow, it goes from red to white. Radiating through the surrounding crystal it looks quite beautiful.

Soon the tip of the lightsaber pushes through the other side of the crystal wall. "It can cut and burn, through most anything. That same energy can light up a room, or deflect an incoming baster shot. There are only a few elements that can withstand the blade of a lightsaber."

Slowly Bron pulls the blade through the crystal, cutting its way through towards the edge. "It can even cut."

Looking back at Tera, Bron says "Pull out your lightsaber, see that button on the side, square with a circular rise in it? Slide that up, but be careful that you do not point the open end towards yourself or me.

Tera looked at the lightsaber in her hand, suddenly seeing it as an exceptionally dangerous weapon. "And uh....how do you stop from cutting your own limbs off?" she asked dubious at the prospect of using it as a weapon, but seeing the enormous utility of it as a tool.

She held the lightsaber like a sword, making sure nothing was at the emitter end, before activating it, curious to see if the weapon was as strong as Bron said.

"It takes quick reflexes to properly wield a Lightsaber, reflexes that almost none other than Jedi possess."

Making sure he is out of range, Bron shows off some advanced Lightsaber techniques. Swinging it in what looks like almost wild swings, but with a closer look you can tell there is a lot of control and agility in Bron's movements.

Coming to a stop, even in the heat Bron is not sweating and looks very composed.

"So...how do I use it effectively? Now you've started, you might as well teach me something I can use here." Tera insisted.

Taking a starting pose, Bron says "Mimic my movements"

As Tera follows along, Bron critiques her positions and movements. After a couple hours of practice Bron turns taking his saber into a defensive position facing Tera and says "Attack me, start slow and be sure of your movements."

Tera practiced alongside Bron for hours, learning the nuances of lightsaber fighting. She ended up incredibly impressed by the flexibility of the weapon, although she still handled it somewhat tentatively being aware of how lethal the weapon could actually be. the session left her exhausted at the end, Tera marvelled at how Bron managed to stay so composed looking and wondered if she'd ever be able to do that someday.

When Bron suggested actually sparring, Tera thought he might be mad. "You actually seriously want me to try to attack? Is there uh...maybe a lower power setting...you know, just in case."

Bron chuckled a little when she suggested a lower power setting, and says "I am afraid not, just be sure of your strikes and you will be fine. Practicing the katas is one thing, but until you know the resistance of hitting another saber, they are meaningless."

Tera nodded, activating her lightsaber as she brought it into a ready pose. Her attacks were very hesitant, slow to the point of her being sure she'd never hit Bron. Tera didn't push any attack strongly, always holding back enough to ensure Brons safety.

Bron effortlessly blocks every attack Tera makes, smiling he says "Good, now faster."

Tera looked uncomfortable as she tried doing it faster. The faster she went, the wilder her swings took her, as she kept trying to make sure she would miss the clearly insane Jedi.

Bron signals to stop and waits till Tera lowers her saber. Taking a step back Bron powers down his and says "Good"

"Good? I was atrocious and you know it." Tera joked, although she felt secretly rather pleased with herself in that she'd managed to avoid cutting any bits of Bron off. "So how long have you been doing this? "

Looking at Tera after she asks her question Bron thinks for a few moments before answering "Ever since my Master accepted me around twenty years ago, I was ten at the time. Believe it or not, there was a time that I was not accustomed to using a lightsaber."

Looking around, Bron notices the sun going down. Nodding to himself he says "Now Defend" at the same moment he ignites his lightsaber and lunges at Tera, watching her movements to make sure that if she fails to pull her lightsaber up in time that he does not injure her.
