The Plunge

Tera winced "Sorry guys, maybe it's just me, but something about him rubs me the wrong way and I get snarky and argumentative with him. If I weren't here perhaps things might be better." she shrugged "I mean it's not as if I don't argue with Bron either....maybe I'm the problem."

Jason smirks at that and shakes his head.

"It's not you.. The only reason I don't get into big drawn out arguments with him is because he ignores me. Apparently us normals are only worthy of contempt. Besides, if you weren't here, who's going to patch us all up after we get into a fight? I'd rather have you along than 40 of those Jedi.."

Jason suddenly considers something and frowns thoughtfully.

"Assuming he is a Jedi.. Do we even know? You don't need to be a Jedi to have a lightsaber and a superiority complex.. Lord Vader fits that bill as well.. Maybe he's just pretending to be a Jedi in order to benefit from their good reputation.. It'd explain a lot.."

The massive gravity waves continued to hamper Jason's flying but he was able to maintain a steady course but still lagged behind the speeder-raft.

The Plunge

'"Judging"?' Lyla echoed after Klyn's translation of Chu-Shkar's lengthy speech. 'You sure he didn't mean "judgemental"? Okay, I've got some concerns, but not much against the Jedi as a group, nor against them as individuals. I've got nothing against Tera following it...  Just those two in particular. They're... being gits.' she finished, unable to put it any more kindly than that.

She faced Tera, patting her shoulder. 'It's not you, T. We were doing perfectly fine until that Quantros showed up. And he has that effect on us all. I'd be arguing more if I had the chance to get a word in. I'm not sure he's listened to what I have said.' Lyla sighed, knowing she had an unpleasant task ahead of her, and she was the one who had to do it. That was her job now, as sergeant and highest-ranked, to keep the team together, or get it together in the first place. 'I'll talk to them later, alone, see if we can't settle this.' Alone and separate, so they didn't feed off one another.

Jason's concerns about a false Jedi sparked a fear in her. 'Tera, did you ever find that shadow thing in Neskroff that Yustavan warned of? You found Quantros...' She left it hanging, not sure what kind of conclusion she could draw from that. She could hardly accuse him of being one of these boogeymen she'd criticised the pair for, but the timing, the Force nature of it, was all too much of a coincidence,

She turned her attention back to their slow progress. 'This is like flying through honey. It could be faster to get out and swim. Maybe we should take the speeder-rafts over? I'm guessing we're not meant to use starships on this planet.'

"As Lyla said, we have nothing against the Jedi as a whole. And we know better than to believe anything promoted by the Empire." added Klyn.

"And we know, however incredible it is he survived, that he his from a long lost time. but if that's what a Jedi looked at that time, then the History greatly embellished them..."

Turning to Lyla he added
"The strange gravity waves might be a bit lesser underwater, or maybe on the water...

Some could get on the others speeder-rafts, but I think we will need the ship's support in the end."

'Gravity waves? What is with this planet?' Lyla wondered, but there was no time for study and survey to get to the bottom of this, though she would like to. This was the kind of thing that make a scout's career, if she still had one. She needed a quick decision. 'Alright, we'll do that. We need to help whoever needs helping, fast. Some of us can take speeder-rafts over, and stop those two chuckleheads making a mess of things. The others can follow in the ship as reinforcements.'

With that, Lyla turned and hared off through the ship toward where the speeder-rafts were stowed, on the way stripping off clothes down to a slinky black bikini and fetching up some gear and her shiny new SG-4 blaster rifle.

"I think we can go faster under water.. It goes against conventional logic but on this world conventional logic seems to go out the window.."

With Lyla gone Jason decides to just follow through on his plan, diving the ship back under water and then speeds up hoping to reach the battlefield somewhat in time.

"Anyone who wants a cannon had better get to it.."

OOC: I'll dive back underwater and then start using 'all out movement' until we reach the battle.

"Tera, Rynn, what's your plan?" asked Klyn.

"If we use two rafts, then we better go with two teams of two : one pilot and one gunner.  Rynn and I fit the first role, so Tera and Lyla can fire at will."

That being said he moved toward the rafts, as time was short, to wait for their answers while getting the rafts ready.

Tera took a look at her blaster pistol and realised it would be useless underwater. She looked at it wistfully before placing it carefully back in its holster. "Lets go on the rafts, by the time we arrive, those two will perhaps be in a position to realise they can't do everything themselves."

The Plunge

The Alabak's Gold came down again to rest on the surface of the sea. Klyn launched the second speeder-raft and the crew spilt up as positions were taken. Once the repulsorcraft was on the waves Jason submerged the Alabak's Gold. By then pair of Jedi had almost reached the six white dots.

OOC I have Rekara, Jason and Chu-Shkar on the Alabak's Gold. Klyn, Lyla and Tera on a speeder-raft. Just need to know which way Rynn has decided to go.

The Plunge

Sitting on the bench, Lyla held tight to the seat and the side of the speeder-raft. It dropped free of the Gold, hitting the water with a bone-shuddering splash. She watched the ship first fly up over her head, before dipping back below the waves. She hoped Jason would find a faster way to travel on this strange world. 'Alright, gun it. I want to be on the scene before Quantros takes over.'

On the way, Lyla pulled a complicated harness up her tails and over her brow, a headdress that would keep her lekku from flopping about while swimming. She hadn't had time to pull on the dive-suit, but didn't expected to need it in this surface battle. It was easy to wear her bikini under her regular clothes, and keep an aquata breather at hand. She also strapped a sheath around her firm thigh, sliding in her trusty knife. Next she fitted a gleaming steel harpoon to her SG-4, sliding in with a satisfying click, with a wickedly sharp hooked tip protruding. 'Let's go fishing.'

Jason frowns as everyone departs the cockpit and soon enough, the ship itself. So he turns to look at his only remaining companion, just a little bit uncomfortably and finally adds.

"So eh.. One growl for yes, two for no?"

In the meantime he keeps the ship heading underwater at the best possible speed.

The speeder-raft accelerated with Rynn at the controls. Lyla, Klyn and Tera sat in the passenger seats.

The Alabak's Gold sunk beneath the waves and began its slow progress to follow.

OOC At All Out Movement it will take them three rounds to reach Bron and Quantros.

The Plunge

Her rifle ready, Lyla stood tall on the deck of the speeder-raft, statuesque and tails streaming in the wind behind her. Leaning forward into the wind, bracing one foot against the hull for stability, she raised her new SG-4 and sighted down her old targeting scope, picking out the nearest of the seatroopers, shiny white in the water.

The seatrooper was bobbing up and down, the speeder-raft was racing and skipping over the waves; it was a difficult shot, everything was in motion. But Lyla could feel the wind on her tails and the balance in her ears, and could trust to her skill and the goddess's guidance. She calmed and focused until forming a line between herself and her target was the only thing in the galaxy. She breathed out, squeezed the trigger, and drew that line.

OOC: Three rounds of all-out movement (four times our speed of 12 squares) should be a distance of 144 squares, right? That's medium range with a rifle. Targeting scope reduces that to short range, so −2 attack.

Initiative 25.
10:55, Today: Lyla Rahn rolled 25 using 1d20+5.  initiative.
Fringe Savant: Rolled a natural 20, gain a temporary Force Point, spending on attack.

Two swift: Aim
Standard: Attack 15, should hit. Damage 15 @ nearest Seatrooper

10:38, Today: Lyla Rahn rolled 9 using 1d20+3. blaster rifle, short range. (corrected for medium range)
10:43, Today: Lyla Rahn rolled 6 using 1d6. Force point.
10:43, Today: Lyla Rahn rolled 15 using 3d8+2. damage.

OOC All Out Movement for the speeder-rafts is 55 squares a round so 3 rounds is 165 squares so unfortunately Long range and far enough away that Lyla's attack misses. Klyn and Tera can both take actions.

Jason and Chu-Shkar are moving at 24 squares a round underwater.
