Shaking his head at Klyn's offer, he pushes a button on his vox box and a mechanical, "Thank you." comes out. Then remembering that Klyn actually understands Shyriiwook, he says, [Language unknown: "Il Ck ss siouus o ectfo us ingiouout, lariv encwi loere o ieta tioivesan M tin nale."]

Re: Desperate Battle

"Interesting staff.. Have you tried using it on the fish killers?"

Jason comments when he sees one of the renegades being brought down by some kind of staff weapon. These people seem to have some kind of advanced technology at least. They might be able to mount some kind of resistance, if that stun staff also works on stormtroopers that is.

In the meantime, he swims along and follows the prince to this 'inn'.

Re: Desperate Battle

Pek:
"Karak is a troublemaker, he wishes the power of the Golden Sun for himself" Pek answered Jason.

'And a few thousand of his closest friends?' Lyla added inquiringly, watching the guards roughly break up the gathering and wincing as they subdued the would-be rebel. Was he unconscious, or dead? She decided to assume he was alive, as this didn't sound like the first time it had happened. Cruk. She didn't like what they might be getting into here. Staying out of local politics was hard when local politics sucked.

'Sure, we'll go to the inn, but I'm not sure we'll be able to stay there. We're not water-dwellers.' Lyla answered, moving on with Pek and Jason, but looking back to see what became of Karak. She had a feeling he was going to be important... And there she went, having feelings again, whatever would Quantros say? No, simple intuition, that's what it was.

Rynn for what it was was surprisingly comfortable in the water, seeing as how he has lived his  life in the same body suit that was now modified for aquatic conditions.

At the site of the Sedrian's breaking up the gathering he said, "It doesn't seem like the rebels could do much against such power..." but his voice trailed off as he drew a parallel between their situations.

Re: Desperate Battle

Bron watches the interaction between the Wookiee and the Engineer, he collapses into one of the vacant chairs exhausted from his recovery. Knowing he still needs to heal, but not wanting to be too far away in case he is needed, he decides to enter a force trance their on the bridge where he can hear what is going on and decide whether or not to give any input.

Closing his eyes he begins to breath deeply, as he pulls his legs under him and rests the back of his wrists on his knees. Shortly his breathing becomes slower and more controlled, taking one breath every few minutes.

Re: Desperate Battle

Pek led them to the inn and showed them to a room. The inn was busy with many other Sedrians. The Sedrians were perfectly adapted to living on the watery planet. The Sedrians possessed both lungs and gills, able to spend unlimited time beneath or above the seas. Their heads and upper torso were similar to humans, their fingers on their hands were webbed. Their lower bodies consisted of flippers and a tapering fluke. Entirely covered in fur their moved gracefully underwater.

"I shall speak with my father and try to get you an audience as soon as possible" Pek placated Lyla. To Jason he shook his head "the fish killers have never attacked us before" he explained. He then left them. The room was simple and spacious. The walls were constructed of shell and rock, water plants in pots decorated the room. The other guests came and went freely, they seemed to be no reception or authority.

OOC Rynn, Jason and Lyla are all definitely at the inn. Everyone is welcome to go to, just post your choice to follow or not.

The market place is in the south west corner of the map, the inn just above it.

Re: Desperate Battle

Swimming over the aquatic city, Lyla looked all around, at the dome- and shell-like buildings, at the Sedrians going about their day and reacting to the incident with Karak. She was closely observing Sedrian culture and society to learn what she could, out of curiosity and respect, as well as a keen appreciation of the potential dangers of dealing with an unfamiliar, alien society.

Seeing lots of Sedrians up close, Lyla could see the gills fluttering on their sides through the fur, and was impressed that they had both lungs and gills, which seemed a rare feature in aquatic species. They could breathe in both air and water. She had a theory the Sedrians' ancestors had evolved on land, before the seas had risen and they'd returned to the water, evolving fins, flukes, and gills, but they'd not yet lost those hands and lungs.

'Thank you.' she said to Pek, before he swam off and left them alone in this "inn". It seemed a place for all to stay, but there was no reception or innkeeper. Apparently it was a DIY hostel, not a business. Perhaps city authorities organised this for citizens or visitors, which seemed nice of them.

'Lyla to Alabak's Gold. Pek took us to wait in an inn before we meet the big boss. So far, everything looks okay. Over.' she updated the crew on the ship. Lyla let herself drift until she rested against a wall. 'What do you think?' she asked Rynn and Jason for their thoughts.

Re: Desperate Battle

Jason leans against a wall and shrugs casually. He isn't sure what to make of all these Sedrians, but they look harmless enough. It's kinda weird to find an inn underwater. Everything is so different when you're swimming instead of walking.

"Kinda wet here.. Beyond that, these Sedrians look like pretty much any other race in the galaxy to me. They've clearly got some problems but who doesn't? Maybe if we can take care of this golden sun problem, the empire might leave them be. I think that would be the best case scenario for everyone"

Lyla tried to sit, but found she kept floating away, until she wedged herself behind some kind of furniture. 'I think so, but I doubt the Empire will leave them alone if there's something they think they want. We'll have to stop them wanting it, permanently... And this Golden Sun sounds like something sacred and political, if the high priest is caretaker. We have to be careful how we ask about it. We don't want them worrying we're after it too.'

Re: Desperate Battle

"If the Empire truly wants this planet, there will be very little we can do to stop them. We can hardly expect the alliance to put their entire war effort into protecting a single planet. But if we can remove this golden sun out of the equasation maybe they'll consider it more trouble than it's worth"

He grins slightly when she addresses the issue about asking carefully.

"I was going to leave the actual asking up to you, you seem to have a knack for putting people at ease"

His thoughts turn to what the prince said.

"I wonder where this imperial base is.. and what equipment they have.."

If jason could somehow nick a tie bomber or interceptor.. but it wouldn't matter really, the ship has no hyperdrive and so they'll never get it out of here. Still, it's an interesting thought.

Re: Desperate Battle

'The thing is, if this Golden Sun whatsit is sacred to the Sedrians, then we can't just get rid of it. We have to make sure the Imperials don't want it or don't know about it.' Lyla clarified, reflecting on the delicate situation. Blowing up someone's religion would get the job done, but would make enemies of the lot of them, and it wasn't how she operated. 'Well, this is all just supposition. Hopefully we'll find out what's going on when we talk to High Priest Cardo. And we need to find Odrion first.'

'Thanks.' Lyla accepted the compliment with a small smile. 'Just so long as our Jedi friends don't decide they can play diplomat too, we should be fine.'

"We'll just have to wait and see what these Sedrians have to say about the golden sun.. Maybe we can hide it, or make the empire think it's been destroyed. The good news is, that with this strange pull from the planet, I don't think they'll be bringing in any star destroyers. Small ships only i'm guessing"

Jason looks around the inn and frowns, it's so strange to think underwater creatures have an inn too. How do they even poor a drink? It'd float right away..

Brons eyes fly open from his meditative state, standing up he moves closer to the viewport and looks out towards the city. Looking over to Klyn he asks "Can we get any closer, something is not right"

Grabbing a hold of the force, Bron reaches out searching and feeling his way through the murky depths. His eyes closed again, but this time you can see the concentration on his face.

Quantros stayed on board, staying in the cargo hold. Though it was now crowded due to the new acquisitions, he either didn't mind, or didn't care. He found himself unable to return to his meditative trance, so instead, he decided to check the surroundings. He didn't expect a trap, but he didn't know what was going on outside the ship. Better to be safe about this.

Quantros sighs, unable to continue his meditation. "If we must," he concedes, standing. "But I'd much rather not have to deal with three dimensional situations if I'm not inside a fighter." Quantros moved to reclaim parts of his underwater suit that he removed for comfort. Once fully donned, he gestured to Bron. "Lead the way."
