OOC

Jason Starflare:
On an unrelated matter, and I hope it's alright to post about it here, but if I ran a star wars saga edition game, would anyone here be interested?  Or potentially interested. I can expand on the premise a bit when I get home.

Sure, I'd check it out, if I find a concept that fits.

My biggest issue is figuring out what kind of character I'd play.

I'll try to get started on the preliminaries tonight. Do you have any preferences for either level 5, 6 or 7?

Over that range, no preference. I prefer a lower level to a higher level, if it were 5 to 15, but 5 to 7 doesn't change that much. An extra level means an extra ability to play with, which is good. :) Most players would say 7, but you should match the level to the threats in the game. Do PCs plough through mook battle droids or not?

Would a bantha-worshipping monk (martial artist/slicer) of the Dim-U, developing it as a Force-using tradition, be too silly, or not silly enough? :) Admittedly, I don't think it would fit the campaign concept very well.

It's possible, could be a local of the region who's helping out with their local knowledge. Which could well prove invaluable. If that's what you really wanted to play I don't see any specific problem with it. As long as it's a character you want to play long term.

This is how far I got so far.

link to another game

Anyone who's interested can look it over and let me know if there's anything you think looks stupid or doesn't make sense.

If someone wanted to play the Captain of the interdictor, that would be fine with me as well. As long as they're a hands on captain that will go along on missions. No fun sitting around twiddling your thumbs on board your ship all the time.

Now, I realize you start out with a LOT of firepower. A capital ship, 24 starfighters, even some AT-ST's. But I see resource management being a part of this game. Each Tie that get's blown up, is gone. So you have to be careful with what you deploy when and where.

At the same time, if you start deploying AT-ST's on a planet and walking into a city, that city is likely going to take offense, and see it as an invasion force. Suddenly you're starting a war.

To clarify. The rebels are swimming toward the Imperial Base. The probe droid has been spotted patrolling over the water, the droid is flying in the air. The droid acts on Initiative 8.

So Initiative Order is (I have rolled Klyn's on their behalf)

Tera 28 - no action declared
Jason 26 - Shoot droid
Quantros 24 - Force grip droid
Lyla 24 - Shoot droid
Klyn 15 - no action declared
Bron 14 - no action declared
Chu-Shkar 14 - trying to hide
Droid 8 - will act if not destroyed first

Waiting for actions from Tera, Klyn and Bron.

Jason will likely hit if any of the others succeed in an attempt to Aid Another.

I don't have any valid action that I can do. I don't have a waterproof blaster, so I'm going to activate my saber and use it to try to deflect blasts.

Skills checks have no critical success or automatic failure. That's attack roll only.

Re: OOC

Learn something new everyday, my irl group, granted we don't play Saga mostly D&D 5e anymore, always ruled Nat 1/20s as crits. So I guess I just presumed it was that way with Saga. Will update my post with an action shortly

Re: OOC

You could use the 'move light object' function of the use the force skill. And do a whopping 1d6 damage by tossing a rock at the droid!

In that case, if the droid isn't dead by the time my next turn comes up, you'll have a chance to learn move object in character from me.

You are still in the middle of the ocean. The Imperial base is on the horizon. You are being led to an entrance that Pek has used before. The probot was patrolling the energy fence you just sneaked through.

Now I can't stop listening to the 'poor unfortunate souls' song. It's always been one of my favorite Disney songs.
