Re: Burborok's Challenge

The three renegades defeated the Rebels regrouped and still needed to decide which hallway to choose.

OOC Lyla can return as soon as she wishes. It is just a straight corridor back to the main party. Tera when she recovers can still sense that the Golden Sun remains agitated and that more dark Force users are in the caves.

Chu-Shkar nods at Klyn, as he swished the axe back and forth slowly in the water trying to clean off the axe the best he could.

Re: Burborok's Challenge

Lyla swam back into the group, glad to see them all alive and kicking, the rebel Sedrians floating corpses. 'I'm here.' she answered Klyn, 'I— I don't know what happened. I didn't run, I just had to...' she struggled to explain, ashamed and confused. She couldn't say what had come over her, and felt deeply disturbed by the loss of control over her own mind. 'I'm sorry. I think this place is getting to me...'

She pointed back down the tunnel. 'That way's a dead end. Let's try tunnel number two. At least we've taken care of these hostiles you were sensing.' Lyla gestured the group to continue into the middle tunnel when they were ready to move.

Re: Burborok's Challenge

Chu-Shkar had seen this kind of thing during the clone wars, so understood what had happened to Lyra. He rested his mighty hand on her shoulder, and nodded in understanding, and gently squeezed her shoulder in comfort and support.

The weight of a Wookiee's paw might have squashed her, but, being in the water, she only sunk lower instead. Nevertheless, Lyla accepted the reassuring gesture, placing her small orange hand atop his furry mitt. 'Thanks, big guy.' she murmured.

His wound was quite deep, especially since he wasn't a sturdy guy to begin with, and he really didn't want to see if he could survive another surprise attack.

Chu-Shkar couldn't contribute his thoughts very well, since his getup had his mouth full of a regulator. He checked his tank levels and then gestured for the group to move on.

There is something not right here

The big Wookiee was able to clean the strange axe. When the blood was washed from the head of the axe the alien weapon glowed dimly as it drew power from the coral caves. Chu-Shkar was aged and wise, the Wookiee offering his support to Lyla as she returned. The Twi'lek was shaken but strong of will and began to organise the team. Everyone began to prepare themselves and draw a relieved breath. They had come this far and faced many dangers. Tera still sensed a great disturbance. When Lyla pointed up the next tunnel Tera felt a coldness ahead of them.

'Good idea, Rynn. If we panic, let's hit each other with stun if we can. It's better than the alternative.' She set her back-up blaster pistol to stun, indicating the others should do the same if they had lesser blasters.

As it turned out, Tera hadn't been wrong about the enemies that had been lying in wait for them, not even where they were located. She cocked a tailed head up the tunnel. 'Are we good to go?' Once she had confirmation, Lyla would begin swimming that way, alert for another ambush...

"Well behind door number 3 there is the newest speeder, of course" said Klyn, with a smile that ended in a small grunt of pain.

"There can't be too many of them inside, anyways.  My main question is whether we will find imperials or not." he added as the group moved toward the direction indicated by Tera

Tera shook her head in a negative manner "I'm not sensing anything specific I'm afraid... but after the base sank and the walker was destroyed I think Imperial forces would be regrouping. We've taken out a lot of their big toys....which means we're probably on a list somewhere now."

'Yeah, there'll be more around here somewhere.' Lyla agreed, sure they hadn't seen the last of the Seatroopers. 'We'll keep alert, as always.'

With no intel (real or divined) on either tunnel, it fell on the sergeant to pick one, more or less at random. 'Alright, door number two. Maybe a bleating billy rycrit. Let's go.' Lyla began swimming that way, alert for another ambush...

Down the third hallway Tera can sense fear but no presence of any users of the Force. As they head down the middle hallway Tera felt the power of the Dark side. For the other Rebels it was clear that the bright glow of the coral caves had dulled. The tunnel was ominous and turned evil.

The further they swam the darker it became. The coral walls seemed to lose their light, the golden glow fading. There was something not right here. Everyone could feel the cold, it felt like death. Then a voice called out to them.

"Come weak ones. Come approach Karak and bow to my power"

Karak is the largest and most powerful Sedrian the Rebels have yet seen. He wears a blue armbard with a broken shell pattern on it. Grasped in one powerful arm is held the Alliance dignitary Mors Odrion. The other hand is clasped a large coral crystal. Karak glows with energy and glows brighter as the coral around him turns dull.

Final Battle

OOC Ranged attacks against Karak are -5 to hit as he is holding Odrion. Characters with Precise Shot can ignore this.

Everyone roll Initative, higher than 12 can act.

There is something not right here

For all the nature they'd been trekking through to get here, the darkened tunnel struck Lyla as being utterly unnatural, a place of death and decay, of cold and corruption. She might not sense or understand the Force, but she knew this as a place the Goddess had turned her tails from. Surely no Sedrian could still believe Karak was in the right here. He'd tainted their faith and sold it to the Empire.

Her keen eyes could still pierce the gloom and, as soon as she sighted Karak, she raised her rifle and took aim, not even waiting to hear his gloating. Although he used Odrion as a human shield, the Sedrian was a very large target and Lyla was a very good shot. But the unnerving nature of this place made her aim shaky, and her shot went past and into the walls.

The darkening corridors were an obvious hint about the fact they were not done with the situation.  It also promised trouble, for the darkening was most likely due to someone draining the power, and that someone was simply getting stronger the longer they took.

And, of course, both their target were at the same place.
A glowing sedrian was something Klyn didn't expect, but it only proved his fears were true.
The huge golden Karak in the middle of the dark - hopefully not dead - coral was enough to distract him.

Tera raised her lightsaber almost reflexively as she saw Karak, with no blaster it was the only weapon she owned that could cause harm. Realising that he was drawing his power from the coral, Tera pushed her feelings towards it to try to bring the Golden Sun back to the light and reduce Karaks hold over it.
