KLyn nodded and fell back toward the rest of the group.

"We are a bit stuck with the sheer number of imperials in the hangar. Do you have tunnels that are not on our map that lead to this place?  Especially near the Tie rack?" he asked the verpines."

The Verpine shook its antennae "there are many tunnel networks but here at the tunnels have been expanded to build the hangar so no more tunnel exist"

"The rest of the hive have now begun evacuation. Are we leaving now?"
it asked and looked toward the hangar "we can pilot any ships" it offered.

Frustrated by the inability to help with everything Chu-Shkar smashed his fist down on the console. "THERE is nothing I can do from here! THIS stupid system is not connected to anything vital!"

Lyla sighed; nothing was going their way. 'Let's confirm: you are able to close the blast doors to this hangar and lower the shields, exposing it to space, right?' That was something. 'Let's check our options. TIE racks...'

There are four TIE fighters suspended from the ceiling of the hangar. The rack is a temporary addition to the hangar. The TIE can be accessed from a catwalk, they can be manually released from the catwalk. Without checking it is unknown whether the Imperial naval officers in the control tower have a remote control or not.

OOC On the map the current position is at the tunnel marked Shop. The Alabak's Gold is on the left and the Imperial Shuttle on the right.

Lyla had all her intel and options, and didn't like any of it. 'Okay, this'll be nine kinds of hell, but how about this... First, we trigger the bomb, and gather the Verpine here. Second, maybe a distraction of some kind, I don't know what... Third, we race out, climb up those ladders nearest us, and then bust into the control tower. I use it as a sniper's nest to pin down the Stormies on the floor, while others use the controls to raise hell, maybe drop those TIEs or vent the hangar. When we get the opportunity, we make a break for the Gold.'

They were so focused on how to get rid of the imperials that they had missed the absence of their first objective.

"We did not see any prototype in the hangar"
he asked the Verpines
"Weren't they supposed to be there?"

The Verpine pointed toward the hangar "the B-wings have been loaded onboard the shuttle, if you steal the shuttle you will be able to launch the B-wings in space" it answered animatedly.

Lyla followed the pointed claw. 'Oh, for cruk's sake... Okay, screw the fighters. Primary objective was blowing the base to cover our escape. And making our escape. Everything else was a bonus, but Ackbar wanted those fighters destroyed before they fell into Imperial hands. We can't take the risk of reaching for too much and getting too little.'

"I don't see why we can't get the shuttle." asked Klyn.

"If fact it makes things easier : It's in the same place as the Gold, so all we will do to reach the Gold will also be done if we wanted to take the shuttle.  And I'm not certain we can fit all the Verpines inside the Gold alone. We don't really know how many of them there are.

And when we leave this place, two fighters might be the difference between being hacked by TIE or fighting our way out.

If we could send some grenades to blast the heavy weapon and the attach of some TIE... maybe I could make a crude launcher...

Or we could send a team back to get to the other entrance and cause some distraction to allow some to get inside the Gold and use our own heavy weapons..."

Lyla tried to think it through with Klyn's optimism, she really did. 'Easier? It's already damn near impossible to take the Gold, and going for the shuttle too will divide our focus and our resources, and it's got more Stormtroopers watching it. Okay, maybe we can surprise them with frag grenades, run-and-gun to that repeating blaster and control tower, control the catwalk. But I still don't like the numbers, and we're still hurting from the last battle. As for a ruse, like dressing in Stormie armour and herding prisoners, they're already on alert. Unless we can lure them away or distract them, I don't see it... How can we thin the herd?'

"With Chu-Shkar's help, I think we can thin some of them.

I suggest one, or maybe two, of us go the way around to get to the NE entrance and launch a few grenade to the big group.
Then the survivors, and with some luck some more, will give chase and Chu-Shkar can lock them out, close the blast door the team will ask by comlink.

Then we regroup and go to the ships, get to the weapons and blast the remaining soldiers with their blaster. There is still the heavy blaster but maybe someone can fire a grenade far enough?

And we must hope they won't get to the shuttle and flee with it before we can reach it..."

Lyla considered Klyn's plan, and liked it. Well, she didn't hate it, but it was looking like something that could be almost effective, so she might as well love it. 'Alright, that could work. But two people, and they'll have to risk a few shots, to really sell it as a failed attack to lure the Stormies away.'

'So, volunteers? I'd do it, but I might be more effective getting to a sniper's nest ASAP.'

"Well, there aren't that many possibilities

You are indeed the best chance at ranged intervention, so that leaves only Tera and I, since the other two are busy at the control room. Unless Quantros wants to try his luck?"

'But first, Klyn, run back and trigger that bomb now. We're about ready to go and can't waste any more time.'

The Rebels had a plan. Chu-Shkar and Rynn would wait for the signal. Then if the Imperials fell for the ruse they would lock any pursuers in the Atmosphere Generators and with the bombs set race for the hangar in time for Klyn to fly out with the Alabak's Gold.

OOC The plan seems set. The way I've read it. Quantros and Tera will create the distraction. Chu-Shkar and Rynn will orchestra the doors and the bomb. Whilst Klyn, Lyla and the Verpines make a dash into the hangar to create chaos and steal ships.

Let me know if that's good or whether it needs altering.

OOC: That works for me. If it gets close in the distraction, the Jedi will be better with their lightsabers.

We should trigger the bomb now, before we do anything, so we don't have to go back for it.

Yes. We can set it as we leave. Better since we can adjust the time if needed. And we don't want to set it until we have the ship(s).
