Meeting at the cross roads

"Oh, so calling dibs on one of those prototypes." Rynn said, involuntarily flexing his fingers at the prospect. "Just get me to one of them and I'll get it out of here safely."

The passageway back to Command Centre was clear. So Chu-Shkar was able to gain control of the blast doors.

OOC When is Klyn going to start the timer on the detonite and which doors is Chu-Shkar going to close and which is he going to open? Has anyone else got anything they want to do?

'See if you can give us a safe, straight path to the hangar.' Lyla said to Chu-Shkar.

OOC: Where's Quantros now? Have we heard anything from him? We should be reuniting soon.

Did we learn anything about the prisoners? I'd rather not destroy the place with them inside.

Lyla swore as she realised something, something vital they'd need to check on before they blew this joint up. 'Oh, cruk. This was an operational base before the Imps seized it. There would've been Rebel personnel captured. They might still be here... Chu-Shkar, can you see any record of them, maybe a brig or living area locked down that shouldn't be?'

Sighing he checked back into the computers. Looking this time for any sign there were prisoners. "ARE there any other things you want to know while I am still in here Lieutenant?"

Meeting at the cross roads

Chu-Shkar found no records of prisoners on the base computers which wasn't unexpected this was the computer system for a peaceful research station. Logging out of the Rebel computer system Chu-Shkar spotted that one of the defeated Imperial technician had dropped their datapad during the battle. Chu-Shkar was able to use the datapad to access the Imperial records and it reported that many Verpines had fled into the many tunnels that filled the asteroid. Imperial stormtroopers were rounding them up and any captured were being held in the storage area near the main hangar.

At another computer Rynn searched for any cameras or surveillance equipment but found none.

OOC The Imperial detention room is room 26.

"LIEUTEnant, The idea of blowing up the base is flawed, there are Virpine hiding in the many tunnels. AND captives in the cargo bays here." He said indicating the location on the map.

"Better blown up than captive. If the imps have them they will just be slaves. Blowing up the station would be a Mercy." With his past what it was, he had seen how the Empire treated it's slaves, and spoke with experience. "We can try to rescue those that have been rounded up, but we won't find all who are hiding."

"If I remember correctly, they are able to communicate at distance within their specie?" Said Klyn.
"If we free those captured, we could ask them to send a message to gather at the hangar to escape.  But we might need to save the prisoners before we activate the timer..."

Meeting at the cross roads

Lyla shot an angry look at Rynn; it was hard to tell what he was feeling with his face covered like that. 'We're not leaving anyone behind, or killing any civilians with our bomb.' she declared firmly.

Klyn had the solution, fortunately. 'Yeah, that's right. If we rescue the captives, we can alert the rest, get them to come. But can we do it all in thirty minutes? I don't want us to have go back and forth for this bomb.'

Chu-Shkar just shrugged. "I CAn erase the computer now, start a general purge, or set up a databomb that will do it in twenty minutes. BUT once it starts either way, all computer access will shut down. DESTROying the station isn't strictly necessary."

Tera shook her head "Can you guarantee there are no hard copies of the starfighter plans? How about isolated work environments? Even just knowing some of the tooling used might give the empire clues. I think we need to destroy the base, but I don't think it would be wise to light the timers yet. I mean...what happens if we get caught? One firefight and a hiccup to our timing and we're not leaving the station." Tera shrugged "right? Can we rig the explosives for remote detonation?"

"Can't do, no" said Klyn.
"We had to make those with what we had there and they don't have much in term of weapons, so it was not possible to create a remote system.
But I agree we must destroy the base.

We can still come back once we have freed the prisoners and so they will have 30 minutes to get to the hangar, but the longer we take, the higher the chances they are discovered. And us going back and forth could be troublesome.

I thought of asking the prisoners to tell those still around to activate the timer as they get to the hangar, but I highly doubt they would activate it as they are very much against weapons and violence.

'I also want to blow this base,' Lyla agreed, 'To deny it to the Imperials, destroy evidence of Rebel activity and ship plans, cause a distraction on our escape, and because those were our orders. The explosion will be the fleet's signal to move. But mostly I want to do it out of spite, coz I'm done with this joint.'

She took in the others' recommendations and made a decision. 'Okay, let's hold off on starting the clock and deal with these prisoners first.'

She checked the map, finding the storage room used for detention of the Verpine. 'Alright, we've got to go through this maintenance shop to get to the holding area. From there, we can hit the hangar bay where our ships are. If we take it, we can send a runner back to trigger the bomb while we get the ships moving. As for the rest, we don't know what kind of opposition we'll find between here and there, so we'll play it by tail.'

'Are we all good?'

"Tail? Oh... right. Yeah. Good to go, as long as we've dealt with most the security, and more isn't on the way." Rynn said, more than a little worried about another protracted fire fight. "Should we let that Jedi know our plans have changed?"

"IF YOu want I can stay here to set the destruct when you are ready, and I can use the computers to keep the empire off balance by setting off alarms and closing doors. THIS will make it easier to get there and back to the ship. I WOULd need a person that can speak basic to run interference with the comms if they begin to question the false alarms."

"It is a good plan" admitted Klyn.
"With our coms he could keep us up to date with potential threats and guide us while closing path for the possible imperial patrols.

And if things go south again, he can warn us and we can come back.  Meanwhile he could lock access to this place to gain time."

Lyla chewed on the idea. 'I don't want to split up, but it is a good plan. A smaller group can move faster and stealthier. And Chu would need someone to watch his back... But who would stay? I reckon I can talk down the Imperials, if they'll buy me a technician, but I can't help with any of the tech.'

'Tera, can you contact Quantros again?'
