A quick and messy job in the medbay had Tera awakened and coughing. Tera was hurt but alive. In the cockpit Klyn had the Alabak's Gold prepped and began their take off, escaping the floating asteroid before it would explode.

Onboard the Imperial Shuttle the two Rebels fought bravely against the Imperial spy. The Wookiee hit Salin hard enough to make the Quarren stumble and his retort slashed wide of Chu-Shkar. At the doorway to the cockpit Quantros staggered toward them, the Jedi still looked badly hurt but recovering, his comlink buzzed and he replied to Klyn "not looking good, some hostiles remain onboard the shuttle".

At last! As Tera stirred awake, Lyla quickly scanned her vitals through the visor, making sure nothing was wrong. 'I think you'll keep.' she told her with relief as she helped her up. 'Good to see you back in the world of the living, T. Do you need anything, or can I go shoot things again?'

"You are vastly outnumbered and facing a pissed off Wookie Glek." Rynn said as he got the shuttle under control, dodging a few asteroids veering toward the ship. "You can stand down and go to trial, or we can simply kill you here... your call."

He did a quick scan of other imperial ships in the vicinity.

Tera looked bleary eyed from the cocktails of medications running through her system "Some intoxicants might be a good idea." She looked over herself, knowing that the Force would restore her to full health in only a few hours. "Uh...we made it off?" she seemed pleased at the prospect. "This mission was the closest we've ever come to not making it."

'We still haven't.' Lyla told her grimly, already packing the medical gear and visor and edging toward the door. 'We're still in the hangar, Klyn's powering us up to leave. The others are in the shuttle. Anyway, see you around.' Once she was sure Tera wasn't going to keel over again, Lyla hustled of the medbay and returned to the biggest turret, where she could get some satisfaction blasting Imperials.

Still roaring with his righteous fury at the traitor, Chu-Shkar brought his axe in again. This time seeking to behead the traitor, his axe came from his right side across at eye level. Unfortunately the Quarren had stumbled back, and Chu-Shkar's axe instead bit into the bulkhead next to the pilot's station.

12:02, Today: Chu-Shkar rolled 8 using 1d20+7.  attack. Rolled a 1 on the attack.

Aboard the Alabak's Gold things were on the up. As Tera groggily came awake Klyn flew the jumpship out of the asteroid's hanger in pursuit of the Imperial Shuttle. Lyla ran to the gun turret and took her chair. Through their view screens Klyn and Lyla saw the expanse of the asteroid field and the Imperial shuttle flying straight toward the asteroid, it seems like no one was piloting the starship and it was set to collide with the asteroids.

Inside the Imperial Shuttle a battle waged in the cockpit to control the ship. The angry Quarren traitor growled a retort to Rynn's pacification and stabbed his vibrodagger into Chu-Shkar, felling the giant Wookiee. Chu-Shkar collapsed on the controls of the shuttle and the ship veered off erratically. At the entrance to the cockpit Quantros strode forward, his dark cape trailing behind him. The dark Jedi's eyes gleamed as his raised his fist in the air and began to choke the life from the traitor, without a finger touching the villain "you are weak in the Force and will die" he threatened menacingly. Salin spluttered and could do naught but grasp feebly at the invisible fingers around his throat.

OOC Chu-Shkar takes another hit and falls unconscious and has to expend a Force Point to remain alive.

Quantros has Salin in a Force Grip so he can only take a Swift Action next round.

'Hey! Who's piloting that thing?' Lyla frantically commed the rest of the team. She was pretty sure the shuttle shouldn't be flying like that. But, whatever was going on over there, there was nothing she could do to help now they were out in space. Hoping to the Goddess they'd win through on their own, she spun the turret around, searching for the inevitable threat.

"I have no idea" answered Klyn as he raised the shields and checked the energy flows.

"But they better do something or we will only bring a few broken pieces... and corpses.

I will see if I can somehow alter their course, fire at the biggest asteroids, just in case."

18:08, Today: Klyn Cors rolled 13 using 1d20+12.  pilot.

Holy S... why now....

"I am, but a Wookie fell on me." Rynn shouted into the comms as he leveraged aginst the wookie's weight to get the creature off the controls. "Our new friend is handling the traitor, but Chu is in bad shape." Once he pushed Chu off the controls and onto the floor, he stopped the shuttle.

Getting out of the pilot chair, he looked at the unknown Jedi. "You have him right?" looking for confirmation that the traitor was under control.

Rynn looked for a med pack that should come standard on the imperial shuttle, and then got to work on his furry friend.


OOC: Don't know if Rynn found a med pack or not, so I rolled my straight Treat Injury. If he found a kit, please factor in the modifiers.

Chu-Shkar roars in pain and tries to force himself to stay awake, but falls in a heap. His life force slowly dripping away.

'Ah, cruk. I wish I could help, Rynn, but I'm here and you're all the way over there. Good luck, and watch those asteroids!' Lyla commed back, feeling like she'd hopped on the wrong ship. Well, it would be the right ship when they inevitably needed a gunner on the Gold.

Onboard the Alabak's Gold Lyla and Klyn tried their best but had to watch helpless as the Imperial Shuttle headed toward the asteroids field. Behind them they saw two more squads of stormtroopers pour into the hangar from the tunnels. Some of them firing toward the Alabak's Gold but their shots bounced of the ship's hull.

The resistance of Salin was equally feeble as Quantros squeezed the Quarren's windpipe and the Imperial spy collapsed unconscious on the deck. Rynn applied the emergency medpac to Chu-Shkar and the Wookiee didn't feel good but they were alive and conscious.

With the Imperial shuttle now in the hands of the Rebels Quantros engaged the sublight engines and headed into the course plotted by Salin that would take them through a natural corridor in the asteroid field. As the Alabak's Gold followed in their wake they saw behind them an orange explosion as the Research Station Shantipole was destroyed.

Moments passed then the comlink on the Alabak's Gold crackled to life, Ackbar's voice said "good work strike team, proceed with the original plan. May the Force be with you".

So far, so... well, almost no-one had died, and Lyla was surprised at that, so... good. They'd destroyed the base and gotten away with the ships, both mission goals achieved. Now Lyla just had to remember what the original plan, established so much drama ago, actually was... Oh yeah. 'So where's this frigate? Rebel fleet should be moving into the corridor, but we've got to keep the Imperial escort frigate off their backs.'

"Well... That was a close one again" Commented Klyn as they followed the Shuttle into the safe corridor.

"I think I'm beginning to get used to it.

But I can't say if it's a good thing or a bad one...


No idea" he answered Lyla's question. "Let's get out of the field first."

"Say the word LT and and I'll take one of the prototypes for a spin." Rynn said, over the comms, sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall of the shuttle after patching the wookie. "To provide support of course. I'll keep the joyriding to a minimum."

Chu-Shkar was conscious, barely, and in no shape to do anything but rest. He would be spending time in a bacta tank in the near future. "WHAT HAPPENED!" His VOX box had been damaged in the struggle, and was locked into a loud yell. he would really  need to fix that.

"Turns out you have a deadly allergy to Vibro-blades." Rynn said from his seated position. "I grabbed a med kit and stopped your insides from escaping, but I wouldn't move too much." He explained. "I don't know what I was doing... and therefore I don't guarantee it hold against too much movement."

Chu-Shkar seemed a little slow at the moment, as he took several seconds to process what Rynn said. Then he chuckled in his wookie chuff that he did, before he groaned "OW! DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH. YES I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT, I'LL JUST LAY HERE AND REST."
Looking at the Quarren he asked, "IS THE TRAITOR DEAD?"

'Word, Mister Culmar.' Lyla answered, putting on an officer's voice through the comms. 'I think we're very soon going to need a few more blasters-on-wings out there. If they look space-worthy, then do what you think's best with them.'

"But only if you have someone to replace you in the cockpit, of course.

And I mean someone skilled enough in case we need to fight.  I hope at least some of the Verpines could fit the bill?" interjected Klyn.

"Sit tight Chu, almost over and then you get a bacta bath." The Ubese said, his smile being hidden by his skin suit.

"I'm going to go for a little test drive." he said, this time the smile big enough that it could be heard through the voice amplifier.

He made his way to the cargo bay and let a low whistle out at the sight of the bombers.

"The new guy has the shuttle, I'm taking one of these." he said over the comms as he climbed into the cockpit of the prototype and started it through the start up sequence.

Tera looked stunned "Uh....we're still going ahead with the original plan? I mean does he know how hurt most of us are?" she sighed heavily "Get everyone injured over here and I'll see what I can do to help them. I can heal myself, but it takes time to do. We can try to help everyone possible before continuing" she looked at lyla worried, speaking softly so the others wouldn't know her concern "We only just barely got out of that place and lots of us are hurting. If we're to be anything other than a suicidal sacrifice, I'm going to need a little bit of time to do some patching up."

Lyla looked up at Tera with sympathy. 'I know, T, but I don't think we'll get it. The fleet's got to move before the frigate shows up, and neither of them is going to wait for us to lick our wounds.' she replied, and cast an eye back to the turret's sensor display. Where was that frigate? 'Beside, we're in ships now. If we get any hurt any worse, it's because we've been blown up or into space, and it won't matter how hurt we are now... I know, that's not exactly looking on the bright side.' The Twi'lek shrugged; she was past despair.

'Tera, if you want to help, get on the sensor array, find that frigate and how long we have before it gets here.'

Chu-Shkar keyed the comm and said, "I CAN FLY THE OTHER BOMBER. THAT WILL GIVE US TWO ADDITIONAL SHIPS FOR THE FIGHT." forcing himself painfully to his feet he staggered back towards the bay. "KEEP THE TRAITOR UNDER CONTROL QUANTROUS."
