Gathered with the Verpine prisoners the Rebels began their attempt to recapture the Alabak's Gold and stealing the B-wings back from the Imperials. Tera was able to offer some aid to Klyn before she rushed off with Quantros to set up their distraction.

Klyn and Lyla stayed with the prisoners and watched the hangar. Chu-Shkar went to the main generator to set the bombs laid by Klyn. Which left Rynn in the computer room to control the doors at Tera's signal.

OOC I rolled for Tera's medpac on Klyn.

Everyone can act and let me know what they are doing. Once Tera and Quantros begin their attack we will move into combat rounds.

Here at the hangar bay the Imperial occupation of the Verpine base was at its busiest. The cavern was immense and heavily guarded. Audaciously Tera and Quantros entered the hangar. From their new view on the hangar floor they saw that the Alabak's Gold was unattended, it's loading bay open and suspended one metre above on the ground on its landing gear.

Imperial techs led by Salin Glek were loading cargo onto the Imperial shuttle. A large pile of equipment was stacked near to the loading ramp.

Another large pile of equipment was stacked near the maintenance lift in the middle of the hangar. The lift which was used to move small ships and equipment up to the level of the catwalk and control tower was at the lower level.

Stood in clear sight it took only a moment for one of the stormtrooper's to point and shout "look, Rebels!"

OOC Tera and Quantros can act now. Everyone is free to intervene or join in at any time.

Waiting at the other entrance, Lyla checked her blaster rifle for the umpteenth time, ensuring the DC-17m ICWS was in sniper mode. Or should it be in auto-fire? No, sniper, she'd need to pick off specific targets effectively. Or would auto-fire be better, for firing into a crowd of hapless Stormtroopers? At this range? They were a little too scattered, anyway. She still couldn't decide or be confident about any aspect of this bloody dangerous plan. But it was the only one they had, the only chance they had.

'When Tera and Quantros leave, when enough of those Stormies follow them, then we go.' she reminded Klyn and the rest of the team over comlinks. She turned to the Verpine 'You come out when we give the word.'


OOC: Switched to sniper mode, waiting.

Klyn looked anxiously at the troopers and the imperial shuttle.

The success of their operation depended greatly on the number of imperials who would fall for their trap.  They needed to prevent Salin Glek and his men from locking themselves inside the shuttle.

"Lyla, if you can take Salin out, do it: it might cause the tech to scatter and prevent them from taking refuge inside the shuttle...

Or it might cause the opposite... but with danger near the shuttle, there was less chance of them getting inside than if we charged at them, don't you think?"

He turned to the Verpines
"If the situation allows it, you will have to pilot the imperial shuttle. I will take care of the Gold.  And the others will get the prototypes inside, if we are lucky..."

He checked his weapon, wishing on more time that he had done some training to use weapons with a better range.

'Oh, I'm taking Salin out no matter what the tactical advantage.' Lyla answered, filled with bloody-minded determination. 'That bastard betrayed us to the Empire, and will keep leaking intel on the Alliance. He has to die.' And she used to be such a kind and merciful girl too.

Tera breathed in deeply, trying to feel the Force around her. "Rynn...we might need you to be really quick on the doors.". Closing her eyes, she felt for Quantros using the Force. "Now" was the only word she used.

She walked around the corner nonchalantly into the hangar bay and in a commanding voice shouted to the stormtroopers. "You have one chance to surrender. Place your weapons on the ground and I will be lenient. Take up arms...and you will die at the hands of the knights of the rebellion. she said, her lightsaber in hand.

18:46, Today: Tera Inkari rolled 31 using 1d20+11.  intrigue.

The stormtroopers were already focused on Tera when she walked into the hangar and ignited her lightsaber. Tera heard the whoosh and hum of Quantros's lightsaber beside her.

Her demand was enough to cause the stormtroopers to falter, but they did not drop their weapons yet. The rebels saw a few of the troopers instinctively look up to the control tower where the Imperial officers were safely behind transparisteel which was impervious to blaster fire.

The traitor Salin looked less concerned with Imperial protocols and more with saving his own skin, immediately moving to make a run for it into the Imperial shuttle.

OOC Actions?

Tera looked at the stormtroopers "Every second you delay is a second closer till the bombs detonate. I urge you to choose wisely. Be gone...or be dead."

Klyn cursed mentally at Tera's intervention.  She was supposed to attract them, so firing a few times and showing her weapon would have been enough to lure them.

Now Salin was running for the shuttle and if Lyla fired, all their plan would crumble...

And she told them about the bomb! Now they will start looking and the chance of them detonating before they succeeded are getting dangerously low.

"This is not good" he said to Lyla

Lyla hissed a curse as Tera went off-script. She'd considered shooting Salin as he fled, but knew it would give their position away and ruin the plan. 'No. Damn it! That wasn't in the plan. Nothing for it now. We have to trust she knows what she's doing.' she hoped. Lyla scanned the cargo bay again, wondering how she could turn this to their advantage...


OOC: If Tera has everyone's attention, would it be possible to sneak unseen into the hangar and get to a hiding spot?

At a full sprint Salin dove into the Imperial shuttle, the technicians turned tail and began to climb up the nearby ladder to get away from the rebels.

The stormtroopers behind the shuttle moved into positions behind the crates stacked up on the maintenance lift. The stormtroopers nearer Tera received their orders and with Imperial efficiency opened fire on Quantros and Tera. One stormtrooper with a red shoulder guard pointed toward the Jedi before they then took cover behind the nose of the Imperial shuttle. The eight remaining stormtroopers opened fire, they worked in pairs. The stormtroopers were accurate but Tera was ready and evaded their attacks. Quantros wasn't fast enough and got hit twice, hurting the ancient human but he kept on his feet.

OOC Quantros is hit twice for 17 damage.

Sneaking is possible.

Tera turned with some alarm on her face "They didn't fall for it. Let's run." she said rather loudly as she headed for cover.

'Well, it was nice knowing you.' Lyla remarked as she watched the Imperials make their expected response. Waiting for the moment of maximum distraction, she dashed out from the tunnel and tried to make for the cover of the Alabak's Gold. Only it was much too exposed much too far getting there...

14:37, Today: Lyla Rahn rolled 13 using 1d20+11.  stealth.

Klyn was hoping Terra's attempt at deception was going to work and that the imperials would follow, but the he saw Lyla's attempt to use said diversion immediately... but she obviously was worried about Terra.

Still, she was right about trying to move quickly as Salin was now inside the shuttle. And they couldn't allow him to take off.

With some luck they wouln't spot her and most of them would follow the Jedis. But more likely only some would as they spotted Lyla.

He hesitated between staying put and ready to fire to cover her or attempt sneaking on his own... But he lacked the long range weapon to be effective in cover so he followed her, hoping for the best.

Hearing the sounds of battle in the distance, and having not thing to do effect the outcome, Rynn pulled a game on this bracer computer and took a few minutes to relax and wait for the cue to head out to the shuttle.

The stormtroopers continued to fire at Tera and Quantros, as the pair ran for the corridor. With athleticism and grace Quantros ducked, dived and somersaulted between the blaster bolts. Tera more grounded held her lightsaber between herself and the barrage of blaster bolts, the glowing blade deflecting and blocking the attacks, her skill was tested and found wanting as a bolt hit home. The damage was staggering as she reached the corridor. The stormtroopers sensing victory began to give chase.

In the hangar Lyla and Klyn took their chance. They dashed into the hangar and headed for the Alabak's Gold. Calls of alarm from the remaining eight stormtroopers made it clear that Lyla had been spotted. Staying low Klyn kept out of sight and found protective cover under his ship.

In the computer room Rynn had control of the doors and waited Tera's signal, she just need to survive longer enough to send him the message.

OOC Tera takes 25 damage and -1 on Condition Track.

Her advantage blown, Lyla decided to make the most of it, whipping up her rifle and firing off a shot on the run into the mass of Stormtroopers. Better she divide their attention, and better she spend the time in their shooting range by shooting back. But it was a hasty, desperate shot, barely more than an obvious distraction. Or so she hoped. 'Everyone move move move!' she bellowed over the comlink, driving her team into greater action.

Chu-Shkar had been standing over the explosive devices ready to activate them, and since he only had comms to work with he heard the lieutenant's command and began flipping the switches to activate the bombs.

10:37, Today: Chu-Shkar rolled 24 using 1d20+10.  mechanics.

Counting on both diversions and his own stealth, Klyn gets inside the Gold.
He moves with some precaution, in case there was some guards inside, but hurries toward the blaster turret, whichever was better placed to fire inside the hangar.

[THE moms are attractive!] Chu-Shkar says over the comms.

The technicians that had been loading the Imperial shuttle continued to run, some of them managing to climb the ladders and escape into the side tunnel.

The repeating blaster has been pointed into space as a defensive for the hangar. The three heavy weapons stormtroopers had now successful spun the repeating blaster around to face Lyla and the Alabak's Gold, they now would be ready to fire!

The stormtrooper squad on the hangar floor began to target Lyla and sent a salvo of blaster bolts against her. Hiding behind the Alabak's Gold she was unharmed as bolts seared and scorched the outside the starship

In the corridor Tera and Quantros pursued by the other squad of stormtroopers, Quantros nimbly evaded the shots fired and Tera's lightsaber blocked any that came close to the pair.



OOC Lyla's range to stormtroopers hiding behind crates and the stormtroopers at the repeating blaster is at least 100 squares. Due to the cover Lyla was unharmed.

"How dare you fire on my ship!" roars Klyn as the upper turret turned to face the repeating blaster and the troopers around it.

A nice target would be the TIE, but unless some pilots are moving toward them, they are less of a threat at the moment.

"I got your back Lyla! Go after the traitor as soon as you can safely go!"

Sprinting ahead of a blistering salvo of blaster bolts, Lyla dove desperately into hiding behind the Alabak's Gold. Instead, her beloved ship bore the brunt of the repeating blaster, sparks and molten metal showering overhead. 'Cruk, they're wrecking the paint job!'

'Good work, Chu! Now get back here!' Anxiously, she looked back, ahead, around the legs of the ship, checking the locations of the Stormtroopers. Thankfully, the group at the front had taken the bait, chasing after Tera and Quantros. 'Rynn! The Imps left the hangar. Shut the north-east blast doors so they don't come back. Close the next set on Tera's signal.'

That was one group out of the picture, just leaving the other. Then she heard Klyn's message loud in her ear. 'Oh, thanks, there's only about a million of them!' She'd be pinned down here if she didn't keep moving, but she had nowhere to keep moving to safely. Hopefully she and Klyn could thin their ranks a bit first.

She ran around the ship until she could just about see the Stormies near the back, while she still had cover. Aiming her sniper rifle, she picked off one near the back. Maybe she could herd them like bantha.


OOC: Move 6 squares down and around the ship.

Chu-Shkar began dashing back to the computer core, intent on making sure the rest of the plan went as well as his did.

Relying on Rynn to control the blast doors Chu-Shkar began his sprint along the main corridor to reach the hangar.

Inside the Alabak's Gold Klyn fired from the ship's turret. It was a large hangar but when the starship's quad laser began firing it was filled with the noise and explosions. The repeating blaster was turned into slag and the stormtroopers nearby were caught in the blast, throwing them off the balcony to fall on the hangar floor.

From the cave which the Imperial technicians had run into came out six TIE pilots, four of them ran to the TIE fighters, two of them went down the ladder to the Imperial Shuttle. The distraction and attack on the hangar now in full flow the Verpines engineers began their own run toward the shuttle to attempt to claim it before the  TIE fighter pilots, they called out to Lyla as they ran "the B-wings are in the shuttle".

Lyla was able to pick off one of the stormtroopers but the rest of the unit had her pinned down but she avoided being hit.

Rynn clicked off the game on his computer bracer, and replied "Roger." over his comms, he stood at the computer and started working the controls to close the pair of blast doors. "You guys are leaving me a way in right?"



15:10, Today: Rynn Culmar rolled 16 using 1d20+9.  Use Computer .

'Good shot, Klyn!' Lyla whooped over comms as the repeating blaster was blasted. 'Now can you get the rest of them off my tails?' Then she saw the TIE pilots race out; of course, there had to be some here for the TIEs! 'Damn it, those pilots! They'll take the shuttle and the prototypes.' The Verpine were also out now, valiantly trying to seize the shuttle, but she doubted the pacifists could stop even one pilot. The plan was out the airlock now; this was chaos.

Dashing around the base of the Gold, Lyla picked off one of the pilots racing for the shuttle. Unfortunately, she herself was pinned down. If she and Klyn could just hold out until back-up arrived... Should've set that bomb earlier! Where was everyone? Speaking of: Rynn. 'Just block off the Stormtroopers in the tunnels around the atmosphere generators, behind Tera and Quantros, then get over here!'

Klyn swore as the hangar is now swarmed by people.
There is  no way he could fire at the troopers without risking to hurt, or even kill, the Verpines.

"Lyla, I can't shoot the troopers with the cannon. I leave the shuttle to you and will focus on the TIE. Maybe it will attract some of the troopers, or a least add to the chaos to allow you to act without too much risk.

Once I'm done, I will got back to shoot at the imperials with more precise weapons."

That being said, he aimed at the TIE nicely aligned and fired at the supports.

All throughout the research station the swoosh and clank of blast doors was heard as Rynn began a process to trap any Imperials whilst leaving an escape route for Chu-Shkar, Tera, Quantros and himself. With so many Rebels relying on him it made the timing critical, he didn't want to trap Tera and Quantros in with the Imperials.

As Chu ran down the main tunnels the blast doors on either side slammed shut, his own exit was straight into the hangar. The Wookiee could hear heavy blasterfire and explosions inside the hangar ahead of him.

Before the two Imperial pilots could reach the shuttle Lyla aimed and fired. Accurate and deadly the blast knocked the pilot off his feet. The other was nearly in the shuttle. The stormtroopers now dug in continued to blast at Lyla, the pacifistic Verpines so far ignored. None were able to hit the elusive target.

In the Alabak's Gold Klyn swivelled the gun turret and shot away the supports for one of the TIE fighter's. The starfighter crashed to the hangar floor, damaged but not destroyed.

Bombarded by blasterfire Quantros and Tera evaded the stormtroopers, they reached Rynn in the command centre just in time for the blast doors to slam closed behind them.

Somehow, Lyla was still alive and unharmed, amazed at her continued survival but not about to question it. Skilled at a run-and-gun approach, she dashed between whatever cover she could find, firing along the way. With one pilot down, she aimed for the other, targeting him in the back as he climbed into the shuttle. Last chance; this shot had to count.

Somehow I got the same rolls as before.

"Thought the plan was to be getting away from here... but thanks for the company." Rynn said, turning to look at the two new comers, one of which he did not know. "Introductions later, the bomb is armed and time is ticking for us to get out of here." Rynn said, spinning back to the computer to ensure everything was secure. "Still going to plan? Is it time for us to get to the hangar?"

As Chu-Shkar entered the hanger he paused long enough to sight on one of the TIE pilots with his bowcaster and fired. As he blasted one he then continued running to the shuttle, letting his bowcaster fall to his side on it's sling, and drawing his axe for use when he arrived.

16:09, Today: Chu-Shkar rolled 23 using 1d20+5.  attack.
16:10, Today: Chu-Shkar rolled 18 using 3d10.  damage.

Klyn continued with his work on the TIE, focusing his fire on the one the pilot seems to be running to.

Tera breathed heavily against the blast door "Well done Rynn. I thought we might be cutting it a little too fine." She looked a little concerned. "Uh....so the charges are set? We uh....well, we might not want to hang around then. Let's get moving." she glanced towards Quantros "You're better at this than me, could you update the Verpines?"

Decimating the TIE fighters Klyn shot again with the Alabak's Gold's quad laser cannon, the stationary starfighter blew to pieces, the pilot nearing it thrown back by the blast. Two of the remaining pilots on the overhead walkway leapt into the last two TIE fighters and began to prep them for take off.

The last TIE pilot looked down at the hangar just as Chu-Shkar rushed in. The Wookiee sighted the pilot and blasted with it's bowcaster, the shot incapacitated the pilot and knocked them from the walkway to collapse on the hangar floor.

At the shuttle the Imperial pilot reached the ramp and was running up as he was shot down by Lyla.

All thing did not go as smoothly as the stormtroopers occupied half the hangar and held their defensive position. Blasting at Chu-Shkar and Lyla, both Rebels were hit.

Quantros sent a warning to the Verpines, the base was about to explode!

OOC Lyla and Chu-Shkar are both hit, Lyla moves one step down the Condition Track.

Howling in pain Chu-Shkar shot back at the imperial that fired at him, and hitting. He cheered loudly, as he continued to make his way to the shuttle, trying to keep to cover as much as possible.

Staggering under the searing shot, Lyla ducked back behind cover to check her injury and decide there was nothing for it but to grit her teeth and bear it. She'd survived worse, certainly. She'd rather survive less, but there you go. She reflected that the plan had not only not survived contact with the enemy, but been well and truly obliterated. Ah well, all they could do now was try to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, again.

Jumping up, Lyla made another unerring shot into the ranks of Stormtroopers, picking them off one by bloody one.

Standard: If I can't hit another pilot, then shoot at any Stormtrooper getting too close, attack 22, damage 21

"Two down, two to go. I hope your are not doing to bad. I will be back to help shortly" said Klyn as he fired at the third TIE.
He hoped the pilot wouldn't be quicker than him and, for once, thanked the Empire for making TIE without shields.

Tera looked around, more than a little concerned they were running out of time. "All right. Let's get going. Run." She was about to start sprinting towards the hangar bay, before she paused for a fraction of a second "Quickly?" and without any further ado, started running as fast as her legs would carry her to safety.

Another blast from his bowcaster knocked out stormtrooper as Chu-Shkar dashed up the boarding ramp of the Imperial shuttle. Chu-Shkar saw both of the B-wing prototypes loaded aboard. The Verpines were also onboard and chittered noisily as they pointed to the closed cockpit "the traitor is preparing for take-off" just as they announced it the repulsorlife engines started up and the shuttle began to move.

Evening the odds Lyla continued her shoot out with the stormtroopers. It was now five against one. Klyn shot another TIE fighter which shook and rattled in its docking rack but it was not destroyed. Both remaining TIE's engines ignited as the pilots began their flight initiation.

Along the corridor Rynn, Tera and Quantros approached the hangar, hopeful that they would make it in time before the asteroid exploded.

OOC Chu-Shkar is now onboard the Imperial Shuttle.

Letting his bowcaster fall to his side on it's sling, Chu-Shkar slid  to the door to the cockpit and tried to open it. If it doesn't he will begin slicing it open, let me know if it needs a roll.

'Give 'em hell, Chu!' Lyla cheered as she spied Wookiee slip aboard the shuttle, even as it took off; they might just have a chance of seizing the thing.

Pity she herself was pinned down behind the Gold and couldn't join him. Wasn't she supposed to climb a ladder and get some place high? Meh. She could go inside the Gold and take a turret, but that would let the Stormies run amok on the hangar floor, and she couldn't have that. So she kept taking shots at them, keeping them pinned down as well.

Klyn is not satisfied with his last shot. Of course he will destroy the TIE this time, but that means the last one will be able do something before he could fire back.

And he cannot raise the shields while firing with the upper blasters.

"Well, let's hope the Force is indeed with us."

And he fired at the damaged TIE

Tera kept running as fast as her legs would carry her, spending only just enough time to make sure the others were following and would make it to the hangar in time.

A glance at the control tower from Lyla and Klyn saw that two stormtroopers had retreated behind a transparisteel window it would be almost impervious to the most powerful of blasterfire. The stormtroopers were with two Imperial naval officers who stood watching the battle and could be seen to shout orders and direct the stormtroopers on the hangar floor.

The ramp into the Imperial shuttle was near the centre of the spaceship, just behind the cockpit. As Lyla began to prepare a dash to the ramp she watched the repulsorlift engines began to slowly lift the shuttle off the hangar floor. The engines of the last TIE were also activated and the starfighter rattled in preparation to launch.

At the door to the shuttle cockpit Chu-Shkar discovered it to be locked. The Wookie needed the security kit to bypass the lock, Chu-Shkar had last seen the tools with Rynn.

As thoughts of the others crossed Chu-Shkar's mind then they were there. Led by Tera, there was Rynn and Quantros, running away from the ticking bomb. From their entrance into the hangar the Rebels saw the Imperial Shuttle beginning its take off, the wreckage a TIE fighter on the hangar floor and another two smoking wrecks still in their rack. On the hangar floor the remains of a squad of stormtroopers were dug in and involved in a shoot out with Lyla. A single TIE, badly damaged, was preparing to launch.

Rynn took a quick stock of the battlefield as he ran in with Tera and the other Jedi. The first thing, and the sole focus of his mind was the rising shuttle, which he had been told carried the prototypes they were after.

Although tired from his run through the space station, he bolted toward the ramp, leaping for it lest it take off without him.

Advancing from her place behind the Gold, Lyla shouted orders and shot at Stormtroopers. 'Klyn, keep on that TIE! The rest of you, seize that shuttle and keep those Stormtroopers off us. And I'm glad to see you!'

Klyn fired at the last TIE, hoping Chu-Shkar would manage to stop the shuttle.

But he still had a B and C plan, just in case.

Tera ran towards the shuttle as Lyla directed.

Circling around the Alabak's Gold Lyla made good use of the cover and shot another stormtrooper. As the Imperial shuttle lifted off the stormtrooper saw the three Rebels rushing toward them and the shuttle. The stormtrooper concentrated their fire on the three newcomers and the precision accuracy of the Imperial stormtroopers was demonstrated with lethal results. All three Rebels were hit and a Tera could not raise her lightsaber quick enough as a blasterbolt threw her off her feet and she crumbled to the hangar floor. Quantros wounded still managed to flip off his feet and somersaulting landed on the ramp as it began to close.

From the Alabak's Gold Klyn shot the last of the TIE fighter. The engineer swivelled in the gunner's seat and began to plan his next move. He saw to his horror and surprise Tera gunned down. To control the tractor beam or start the engines he'd need to get to the cockpit. Klyn knew the low power tractor beam projector was designed to be used as an anchor whenever the Alabak's Gold was seaborne. Against a starship it would be ineffective but might slow the Imperial Shuttle down enough for the others to all get aboard.

OOC Quantros managed to leap on board the Imperial Shuttle.

Rynn, Quantros and Tera are all hit the last stormtroopers. Tera is shot dead, she can attempt to use a Force Point to increase her reaction Deflect roll, it needs to be increased by +4 to succeed. Lastly she can use a Force point to push herself to unconscious instead of dead.

Klyn can attempt to cold start the Alabak's Gold and be instantly ready,  Pilot check DC 30, it will take +1 round for every point the check is missed by to prepare the ship for takeoff.

Rynn can attempt to leap aboard the Imperial Shuttle using either Jump or Acrobatics.

Klyn swore as he saw Tera fall.

He had to order his priorities.

Firstly, start the engines. With some luck he would be able to act quickly and move the gold to scatter the imperials and stop the shuttle.

If not, it would leave time for using the tractor beam.

But now he had another target in mind : Tera.

As he worked on the usually quick responding controls, Klyn made some stupid mistakes because of the stress and the engines only slowly started to respond to his commands.

"Lyla, I won't be able to move the gold quickly enough.  I will try to use the tractor beam to get Tera safely out of the way, then I will fire at the troopers to distract them so that you can get inside.
I hope the others will be able to seize the shuttle..."

'No!' Lyla swore loudly as she saw Tera shot down, only just resisting the urge to run out after her. But she looked out across the hangar bay floor, wondering about her odds and options. She heard Klyn's message, it sounded mad and dangerous, and she commed back a lot of questions 'Use the tractor beam on Tera? Is that safe? What if you just shoot the Stormtroopers now?'

"I was trying to get the Gold ready to fly and I can't do it from the gun turret." answered Klyn.
"I could go back to the guns, but then I won't be able to bring Tera to safety..."


OOC: Would it be dangerous to use the tractor beam on Tera? Klyn having personnal modification and other techh savy feats, maybe he could tune it in a safe mode?

The remaining troopers are behind some big square, could klyn fire at them (or at whatever is protecting them) to wreak havoc?

Rynn ran. He felt the blasters tear into him, and heard Tera cry out but kept running. The mission came first, he'd check on the survivors after they were clear. For now he needed to stop the shuttle from getting away with the prototypes. Despite barely being on his feet and conscious he ran and jumped toward the shuttle, desperate to board and at least be safe from incoming fire.

Lyla looked back and forth, frustrated at her limited options, but events were pushing her past any of them. She took another shot at the nearest Stormtrooper, to stop them getting closer to Tera, then hurried into the Gold. She'd do better from the turret anyway.

Move into the Alabak's Gold and go to the turret

Chu-Shkar whipped out the axe, and began trying to pry the door open using the axe to lever it.

The bomb set and the rest of the crew now in the hangar bay it was time to leave. Klyn began the ignition sequence of the Alabak's Gold, it felt good to be back in the comfort of home but the starship was not fast to respond after its prior flight with an unwanted pilot.

Lyla dashed up the boarding ramp of the jumpship, on her way the Twi'lek blasted another stormtrooper and then ran to the gun turret. Left without opponents the last two stormtroopers ran out from cover and grabbed an unconscious Tera as they began to flee for the tunnel.

Quantros, Chu-Shkar and Rynn were now aboard the Imperial shuttle with the Verpine prisoners. The cockpit door was sealed and the frustrated Wookiee began to vent his anger against it as the shuttle spun around and began its flight out to space.

Both modified B-wings are in the shuttle and with the help of the Verpines can be launched once the Imperial shuttle is in the asteroid field, they are two man starfighters requiring a pilot and a gunner, the Verpines are able to act as pilots if needed.

OOC 12 round until Alabak's Gold is ready for take off.

Chu-Shkar can try either Strength check to disable metal door with a of DC35 or he can attack the door which has a Ref Defence of 4 and then roll for damage as normal.

Unless the axe as a pry bar gives a really big bonus, the DC is too high.

OOC there may be a bonus for the axe. The DC is straight from the rule book.

Filled with fury by the sight of the Stormtroopers dragging off Tera, Lyla swivelled the turret around and got them in the laser cannon's sights. 'Leave my friend alone!' she roared, jamming down the firing button. This wasn't even going to hurt. This was going to turn them into mist.

Kly readied the tractor beam to stop the fleeing imperial if they survived Lyla's attack. If only to prevent them from getting out of reach.

Chu-Shkar wedged the blade of the axe into the crack of the door and began prying with a mighty roar that echoed in the shuttle.

"Chu... take my kit and get that door opened!" The Ubese gasped at the Wookie through his injuries. He pulled his security kit off his belt and pushed it toward the Chu.

Glad of Rynn's arrival, Chu-Shkar stopped trying to force the door, and took the kit. "YOU should tend your wounds. I'LL TAke care of this trraaitor." His growl showing through even the translator droid on his hip, he was obviously ready to "rip the arms off" the traitor.

With that Chu-Shkar began the process of overriding the door locks.

14:26, Today: Chu-Shkar rolled 19 using 1d20+10.  mechanics.

A blast of the Alabak's Gold's quad laser canon obliterated the fleeing stormtrooper. Klyn prepared the low power tractor anchor in an attempt to lock on to the last stormtrooper.

Inside the Imperial shuttle Chu-Shkar tried brute force and failed to open the door. With Rynn's offer of security kit Chu-Shkar tried to bypass the lock but was door proved to be more tricky than the Wookiee had anticipated. The Imperial Shuttle then began its flight out of the hangar.

OOC 11 rounds until the Alabak's Gold can take off.

Klyn make a Tractor Beam attack at -10 due to the size of the target.

Chu-Shkar can retry the Disable Device, the DC is 20 to bypass the electronic lock. I will allow Rynn to offer an Aid Another if you want on any subsequent checks.

Rynn seeing the wookie struggle, and growing increasingly frustrating, took a deep breath and forced himself to stand. "Let me help where I can."

As she blasted into oblivion one Stormtrooper, then had a go at the next, Lyla wondered if she should've been using the laser turret all along. It was less accurate but more powerful, and so much satisfying.

'That's the last of them. I'm going out for Tera.' Lyla called to Klyn, hopping out of the turret seat and dashing out of the Gold again to collect her fallen friend. She hoped she wasn't too late.

He goes back into the system and sees the wire he failed to attach correctly. He smiles as the door slides open!

With nothing more to do inside the Gold for now, Klyn went out and toward the control panel of the still open door.

"Lyla, I will do what I can to seal that door. The Gold won't be ready to leave for a few minutes and I don't want more troopers here if I can avoid it.

Do what you can for Tera. I won't be long."

A final blast from the gun turret finished off the stormtroopers and Lyla sprung up to go and rescue the fallen Tera. Klyn continued to coax the Alabak's Gold into operation and ready for take off.

The Imperial shuttle began its flight into the asteroid field as Chu-Shkur and Rynn managed to override the controls on the cockpit door. The door swished open and the cockpit was revealed. The traitorous Quarren Salin Glek was at the controls, the viewport showed the expanse of the asteroid field and the hurtling asteroids the ship was flying toward. Laid on the control panel was a blaster pistol and a vibroknife, with a hiss of annoyance Salin turned "you shall die as will that fool Ackbar" he announced hatefully and picked up his weapons.

Dashing desperately across the hangar, Lyla soon reached Tera's side. It looked bad, really bad. She hoped she wasn't too late, but either way, she wasn't leaving her here. However, she couldn't spare the time or take the chance of treating her out here; she had to get her back to the Gold. 'Come on, sis, rise and shine.' she muttered, lifting her up and slipping an arm under her shoulders, trying to carry her back to the ship.

Sneering the Quarren raised his vibrodagger and stabbed Rynn. The Ubese collapsing from the wound. The Imperial Shuttle out of control continued to fly into the asteroid field. Collision with smaller asteroids impacting the shuttle jolted all the passengers aboard.

OOC Rynn hit for 10 damage and knocked unconscious. Rynn can use a Destiny Point will evade the hit.

Chu-Shkar can act.

Sparing a quick glance out of the hangar entrance, Lyla winced to see asteroids colliding with the shuttle. Goddess, she hoped the rest of the team had control of it. But there was nothing she could do from here; her concern was the Gold and getting Tera there. She continued carrying her doggedly across the deck.

Klyn went back to one of the cannons, ready to fire at any imperial that would cross the door and get inside the hangar.

Rynn backpedaled, the vibro-blade digging a trench through the bodysuit but thankfully missing anything important. While he backpedaled he drew his heavy blaster pistol and leveled it.

Chu-Shkar grabbed his axe and brought it down quickly, though his aim was off due to one of the asteroids striking the ship and rocking the vehicle. Instead of the big axe striking the traitor, it carved a chunk out of the pilot's seat. Howling in anger Chu-Shkar raised it up again to swing again.

OOC Use of a Destiny Point will convert the miss into a Critical hit!

The Alabak's Gold was almost prepped so Klyn took a defensive position. The tunnels remained clear of stormtroopers. Lyla picked up Tera and began to drag her back to the starship.

Lyla continued to carry Tera back to the ramp into the Gold,

As if something was driving his arm, Chu-Shkar seemed to see he was going to miss, but felt his arm move into a different path as the axe struck deep into the Quarren traitor.

"YOU FIrst!" Chu-Shkar roared back.

The battle fury upon the Wookiee the slammed the Sedrian axe into the Quarren traitor. Salin Glek staggered from the blow and his attempt to retaliate was a feeble stab at Chu-Shkar.

In the Alabak's Gold Lyla had Tera in the medbay. From the gun turret Klyn watched over the empty hangar.

OOC Lyla, Klyn and Tera can make their exit from the hangar, the fight with Salin Glek shouldn't take much longer.

Rynn and Chu-Shkar can act. You can use Aid Another, Force Points and Rage if you are looking for ways to increase those attacks. Salin's -1 CT lowers their REF to 21.

As soon as she was back inside the Gold with Tera, Lyla thumped her comlink, yelling as hurried through the ship. 'Klyn! I've got Tera back in the ship. Treating her in the medbay now. Take off ASAP!' Klyn would probably hear from the cockpit or turret even without the communicator.

In the medbay, once she got Tera on the bed, she frantically hauled off her suit helmet and slipped on her medical interface visor. Switching it on, she blinked in surprise at the array of medical alerts it flashed up about the pair of them. 'Woah, alright, one thing at a time.' She set aside any alerts about her own injury (the pain was lying forgotten somewhere at the back of her mind) and focused on Tera's blaster injury. Lists of instructions and indicators flashed up, recommending use of a medpac, showing how to apply the bacta patch, telling her not to panic.

Tera had always been there to patch her up, all of them, ever since they'd met on Tatooine, through so much pain and blaster-fire. So what did they do when their own doctor lay dying? All Lyla had was this instructional visor and faith. 'Come on, Tera, you'll survive this, like everything else.' she promised her, as she applied the irrigation bulb to cleanse the wound. Maybe she just needed to keep talking. Then more personally 'Goddess, save your daughter as she's saved so many.' Next, she applied coagulant and antiseptic, synth-flesh and a bacta-patch. Finally, she injected Tera with a stimulant, because she really needed the team doctor active again to do this properly.


OOC: Put on/activate medical interface visor, gain +2 Treat Injury
Treat Injury 13, roll FP, improve to 16, just beats DC 15. Tera heals level + 2 hp.

"Thanks the Force" Klyn whispered in a relief sigh.

"I'm almost ready to take off" he answered, switching the last few things that were needed.

He also tried to contact the others, although he doubted the signal would be loud and clear as the distance increased.

"Chu? Rynn? How are things on your end?  We are about to take off with everyone on board and alive.  I will do my best to close the gap between the ships."

And with those last hopeful words, the Gold started to move out of this dead sentenced place.

Chu-Shkar swung the axe again, as he felt the best way to end this fight was to just kill the traitor.

Rynn saw the wookie rearing back for an attack, and made his move. He ran at the Quarren, bumping into him to distract him for a few precious moments, before dodging past him to get to the controls of the pilotless shuttle.

21:41, Yesterday: Rynn Culmar rolled 12 using 1d20+10.  Aid another attack.

A quick and messy job in the medbay had Tera awakened and coughing. Tera was hurt but alive. In the cockpit Klyn had the Alabak's Gold prepped and began their take off, escaping the floating asteroid before it would explode.

Onboard the Imperial Shuttle the two Rebels fought bravely against the Imperial spy. The Wookiee hit Salin hard enough to make the Quarren stumble and his retort slashed wide of Chu-Shkar. At the doorway to the cockpit Quantros staggered toward them, the Jedi still looked badly hurt but recovering, his comlink buzzed and he replied to Klyn "not looking good, some hostiles remain onboard the shuttle".

At last! As Tera stirred awake, Lyla quickly scanned her vitals through the visor, making sure nothing was wrong. 'I think you'll keep.' she told her with relief as she helped her up. 'Good to see you back in the world of the living, T. Do you need anything, or can I go shoot things again?'

"You are vastly outnumbered and facing a pissed off Wookie Glek." Rynn said as he got the shuttle under control, dodging a few asteroids veering toward the ship. "You can stand down and go to trial, or we can simply kill you here... your call."

He did a quick scan of other imperial ships in the vicinity.

Tera looked bleary eyed from the cocktails of medications running through her system "Some intoxicants might be a good idea." She looked over herself, knowing that the Force would restore her to full health in only a few hours. "Uh...we made it off?" she seemed pleased at the prospect. "This mission was the closest we've ever come to not making it."

'We still haven't.' Lyla told her grimly, already packing the medical gear and visor and edging toward the door. 'We're still in the hangar, Klyn's powering us up to leave. The others are in the shuttle. Anyway, see you around.' Once she was sure Tera wasn't going to keel over again, Lyla hustled of the medbay and returned to the biggest turret, where she could get some satisfaction blasting Imperials.

Still roaring with his righteous fury at the traitor, Chu-Shkar brought his axe in again. This time seeking to behead the traitor, his axe came from his right side across at eye level. Unfortunately the Quarren had stumbled back, and Chu-Shkar's axe instead bit into the bulkhead next to the pilot's station.

12:02, Today: Chu-Shkar rolled 8 using 1d20+7.  attack. Rolled a 1 on the attack.

Aboard the Alabak's Gold things were on the up. As Tera groggily came awake Klyn flew the jumpship out of the asteroid's hanger in pursuit of the Imperial Shuttle. Lyla ran to the gun turret and took her chair. Through their view screens Klyn and Lyla saw the expanse of the asteroid field and the Imperial shuttle flying straight toward the asteroid, it seems like no one was piloting the starship and it was set to collide with the asteroids.

Inside the Imperial Shuttle a battle waged in the cockpit to control the ship. The angry Quarren traitor growled a retort to Rynn's pacification and stabbed his vibrodagger into Chu-Shkar, felling the giant Wookiee. Chu-Shkar collapsed on the controls of the shuttle and the ship veered off erratically. At the entrance to the cockpit Quantros strode forward, his dark cape trailing behind him. The dark Jedi's eyes gleamed as his raised his fist in the air and began to choke the life from the traitor, without a finger touching the villain "you are weak in the Force and will die" he threatened menacingly. Salin spluttered and could do naught but grasp feebly at the invisible fingers around his throat.

OOC Chu-Shkar takes another hit and falls unconscious and has to expend a Force Point to remain alive.

Quantros has Salin in a Force Grip so he can only take a Swift Action next round.

'Hey! Who's piloting that thing?' Lyla frantically commed the rest of the team. She was pretty sure the shuttle shouldn't be flying like that. But, whatever was going on over there, there was nothing she could do to help now they were out in space. Hoping to the Goddess they'd win through on their own, she spun the turret around, searching for the inevitable threat.

"I have no idea" answered Klyn as he raised the shields and checked the energy flows.

"But they better do something or we will only bring a few broken pieces... and corpses.

I will see if I can somehow alter their course, fire at the biggest asteroids, just in case."

18:08, Today: Klyn Cors rolled 13 using 1d20+12.  pilot.

Holy S... why now....

"I am, but a Wookie fell on me." Rynn shouted into the comms as he leveraged aginst the wookie's weight to get the creature off the controls. "Our new friend is handling the traitor, but Chu is in bad shape." Once he pushed Chu off the controls and onto the floor, he stopped the shuttle.

Getting out of the pilot chair, he looked at the unknown Jedi. "You have him right?" looking for confirmation that the traitor was under control.

Rynn looked for a med pack that should come standard on the imperial shuttle, and then got to work on his furry friend.


OOC: Don't know if Rynn found a med pack or not, so I rolled my straight Treat Injury. If he found a kit, please factor in the modifiers.

Chu-Shkar roars in pain and tries to force himself to stay awake, but falls in a heap. His life force slowly dripping away.

'Ah, cruk. I wish I could help, Rynn, but I'm here and you're all the way over there. Good luck, and watch those asteroids!' Lyla commed back, feeling like she'd hopped on the wrong ship. Well, it would be the right ship when they inevitably needed a gunner on the Gold.

Onboard the Alabak's Gold Lyla and Klyn tried their best but had to watch helpless as the Imperial Shuttle headed toward the asteroids field. Behind them they saw two more squads of stormtroopers pour into the hangar from the tunnels. Some of them firing toward the Alabak's Gold but their shots bounced of the ship's hull.

The resistance of Salin was equally feeble as Quantros squeezed the Quarren's windpipe and the Imperial spy collapsed unconscious on the deck. Rynn applied the emergency medpac to Chu-Shkar and the Wookiee didn't feel good but they were alive and conscious.

With the Imperial shuttle now in the hands of the Rebels Quantros engaged the sublight engines and headed into the course plotted by Salin that would take them through a natural corridor in the asteroid field. As the Alabak's Gold followed in their wake they saw behind them an orange explosion as the Research Station Shantipole was destroyed.

Moments passed then the comlink on the Alabak's Gold crackled to life, Ackbar's voice said "good work strike team, proceed with the original plan. May the Force be with you".

So far, so... well, almost no-one had died, and Lyla was surprised at that, so... good. They'd destroyed the base and gotten away with the ships, both mission goals achieved. Now Lyla just had to remember what the original plan, established so much drama ago, actually was... Oh yeah. 'So where's this frigate? Rebel fleet should be moving into the corridor, but we've got to keep the Imperial escort frigate off their backs.'

"Well... That was a close one again" Commented Klyn as they followed the Shuttle into the safe corridor.

"I think I'm beginning to get used to it.

But I can't say if it's a good thing or a bad one...


No idea" he answered Lyla's question. "Let's get out of the field first."

"Say the word LT and and I'll take one of the prototypes for a spin." Rynn said, over the comms, sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall of the shuttle after patching the wookie. "To provide support of course. I'll keep the joyriding to a minimum."

Chu-Shkar was conscious, barely, and in no shape to do anything but rest. He would be spending time in a bacta tank in the near future. "WHAT HAPPENED!" His VOX box had been damaged in the struggle, and was locked into a loud yell. he would really  need to fix that.

"Turns out you have a deadly allergy to Vibro-blades." Rynn said from his seated position. "I grabbed a med kit and stopped your insides from escaping, but I wouldn't move too much." He explained. "I don't know what I was doing... and therefore I don't guarantee it hold against too much movement."

Chu-Shkar seemed a little slow at the moment, as he took several seconds to process what Rynn said. Then he chuckled in his wookie chuff that he did, before he groaned "OW! DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH. YES I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT, I'LL JUST LAY HERE AND REST."
Looking at the Quarren he asked, "IS THE TRAITOR DEAD?"

'Word, Mister Culmar.' Lyla answered, putting on an officer's voice through the comms. 'I think we're very soon going to need a few more blasters-on-wings out there. If they look space-worthy, then do what you think's best with them.'

"But only if you have someone to replace you in the cockpit, of course.

And I mean someone skilled enough in case we need to fight.  I hope at least some of the Verpines could fit the bill?" interjected Klyn.

"Sit tight Chu, almost over and then you get a bacta bath." The Ubese said, his smile being hidden by his skin suit.

"I'm going to go for a little test drive." he said, this time the smile big enough that it could be heard through the voice amplifier.

He made his way to the cargo bay and let a low whistle out at the sight of the bombers.

"The new guy has the shuttle, I'm taking one of these." he said over the comms as he climbed into the cockpit of the prototype and started it through the start up sequence.

Tera looked stunned "Uh....we're still going ahead with the original plan? I mean does he know how hurt most of us are?" she sighed heavily "Get everyone injured over here and I'll see what I can do to help them. I can heal myself, but it takes time to do. We can try to help everyone possible before continuing" she looked at lyla worried, speaking softly so the others wouldn't know her concern "We only just barely got out of that place and lots of us are hurting. If we're to be anything other than a suicidal sacrifice, I'm going to need a little bit of time to do some patching up."

Lyla looked up at Tera with sympathy. 'I know, T, but I don't think we'll get it. The fleet's got to move before the frigate shows up, and neither of them is going to wait for us to lick our wounds.' she replied, and cast an eye back to the turret's sensor display. Where was that frigate? 'Beside, we're in ships now. If we get any hurt any worse, it's because we've been blown up or into space, and it won't matter how hurt we are now... I know, that's not exactly looking on the bright side.' The Twi'lek shrugged; she was past despair.

'Tera, if you want to help, get on the sensor array, find that frigate and how long we have before it gets here.'

Chu-Shkar keyed the comm and said, "I CAN FLY THE OTHER BOMBER. THAT WILL GIVE US TWO ADDITIONAL SHIPS FOR THE FIGHT." forcing himself painfully to his feet he staggered back towards the bay. "KEEP THE TRAITOR UNDER CONTROL QUANTROUS."
