The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

It had been more then one year since Juan Lorenzo, Dragon, had taken the throne of Charlotte.  When he did this, he made a vow that in one year he would have spoken with key members of the kindred population with a plan of action and the final results of John's exile and standing blood hunt.  Not every kindred in the city openly sought John's destruction, but many were still on the lookout for him.  [Private to Marissa Lee: Lars has specifically instructed you to not speak about clan business with any of the other neonates.  If the subject of John comes up, do not be stupid and defend clan honor.  You will honor the clan more by accepting the facts.  John fucked it up.  He fucked it up for everyone, too.][Private to Natalya Shrevchenko; Yuki Nagasawa: You both know your sire has been busy with the elders.  Yuki, you were a ghoul privvy to his time away and Natalya is smart enough to put the dots together.][Private to Abigail O'Carroll: Your sire is convinced that John is not in the city, but he does not believe the near methuselah just vanished.  He found an ally to help him escape.][Private to Alexander Youngblood: The Nosferatu know that John is not in the city.  They also know who is actively seeking his destruction and who is not.  The information is classified, of course.]

One such rebel was the Toreador Germaine.  Something had happened between Germaine Marshall and the prince causing a falling out between the two.  Many can speculate as to the nature, but few do so openly.  Germaine is still popular enough with some of the more disillusioned members of her clan to maintain a position on the Primogen council.  There she has a few more allies and connections - enough to make her a real, if upstart political faction. [Private to Madhu Ahkilesh: Catrina thinks that you might want to try and reign in anyone who knows anything about this.  It would certainly help you gain prince favor.][Private to Natalya Shrevchenko: Dragon is particularly concerned about you in this case.  Germaine is a woman scorned and Toreadors are particularly vindictive.  She is also Chrsitian-spawn.  You should keep your guard up against anyone who knows anything about her.  It means she's already got herself connected to them before Dragon ever meets them.]

Most of the kindred were well enough off to approve of the new prince, and so he continued to do what he felt was best.  Don Miguel Giovanni, Christian Knox, Dora Delavergne, Lars Reznick, and of course the Tremere, Ryan Combs were more then well off.  The new prince was able to make a lot of the right kindred happy.  One of the new things Dragon had done was set up multiple elysiums.  This one was one of his favorites.  It was the 11th floor presidential suite in the UNCC area Hilton.  Occasionally one of the rooms just below the lobby would be used as well.  But tonight wasn't one of those nights.

It required a special key just to get from the elevator to the presidential floor.  The keys were acquired by a ghoul at the service desk.  This made it a bit more difficult to be uninvited here.  Tonight was a rare, special occasion reserved for the recently arrived, be it through notice or embraced.  The prince would meet with them precisely at midnight on Tuesday.  If you were invited you knew about it and were expected to attend.  Obviously you were on the list and got your elevator card.

The room was towards the far end in the corner overlooking a small part of UNCC campus and the busy Mallard Creek exit.  It was room number 1134.  A clock on the wall as soon as you stepped off the elevator said what time it was.  You had been encouraged to show up a few minutes before 11.  The suite's door was propped open and the room was lit.  You heard some classical music playing.

OOC: Lets see...order of arrival: Alexander, Madhu, Abigail, Yuki, Marissa, Natalya, Sebastian & Gabe; That is a lot of characters to bring in at once.  How about we sort it out like this... You arrive between 10:35 & 11:09.  I urge you to talk in OOC and pick your spots.  Some of you may even elect to ride the elevator together or meet at the valet.  Just dont jump all over each other on the clock.  I dunno.  Figure it out. :P  Next, you may roll Intelligence + Performance at difficulty 8 to recognize Mozart.  Difficulty 9 to pull it out as his 5th symphony.  Yuki, you get a +2 dice bonus on the roll for playing classical and Natalya gets a +1 dice because she is familiar enough with her sire to have heard it before.  Cool?

When you rounded the corner and looked inside, you seen what you immediately recognized as an awesome place to gather.  The whole place was lit in a comfortably dim white glow.  There was a lot of black, polished steel, and glass.  Every drop of furniture was neatly spaced to make the large glass table in the middle of the room the main piece.  Right away you noticed a fully stocked bar on the right.  Behind it was a full galley.  Everything had a "neon night" mixed with "glass tower" polished steel look to it.  Rather modern.  Across the top of the bar was a neatly placed series of tumblers and wine glasses.  Both were a mixture of ivory and gold; very nice.  The two "glasses" were obviously part of a complete set.  Each sat on a small golden tray, sharing their space with a trio of small matching dishes.  You got the impression they were intended for you.

On a similar tray in front was a small notice that said to please enjoy responsibly.  Now you knew for certain.  It could be considered rude not to enjoy just a little...  Either way, the choice was yours.

OOC:  Unless (at least) one of you volunteers and the rest approve, everyone has to roll a single d10 and call it, odds or evens.  If you guess right, you were smart.  If you guess wrong, you are the retarded neonate in the next paragraph.  Again I advise some OOC pow-wow.

As soon as you stepped around behind the bar...you were wishing you had brought the tray!  Now you feel like a dork if you didn't.  It's bad.  Your that kid in school walking down the hall trying to be cool with your bad self without knowing you had a wad of shitty toilet paper stuck to your shoe and were dragging behind you.  Yeah that bad!  That's how retarded you felt when everyone but you had theirs.  Now you had to go back and get your little tray or be that out of place neonate without one.

The back half of the massive table was partitioned away from the main bar and specialty mini bar.  This created a nice flow pattern and gave some separation.  At the specialty bar the first thing you noticed were edible items!  There was a nice and neat triple row of deviled eggs.  Behind them were popcicle looking things in the shape of various animal heads. This ring was three deep and circled a large crystal punch bowl full of what looked like jelly beans.  On a smaller, raised plate in the center of the bowl was what looked like some sort of thick, bloody, jello-ey cake complete with a pink creme icing on top carved into the symbol of the Camarilla Ankh.  A single ghoul that would otherwise be invisible acted as a server and carver.

Then, on either side of the micro bar of food stood an "invisible" ghoul in a tuxedo.  Each ghoul held a polished silver tray that held a series of shot glasses.  One side had "Effects" and the other had "No Effects".  The effects were alcohol or supernatural blood, but no other drugs or narcotics.  The non affected side had a variety of rare, but mortal blood types and vessel origins.  The side with effects had mage blood!  And something called Kuei-Jin Vitae.  It was green with purple fog flowing off of it!  You could even have your drink chilled, warmed, or spiced!  Once you had made your selection, a fourth ghoul, also wearing a tuxedo, acted as a bartender presenting a small corked pint matching your preference.

Surrounding the heavy glass meeting table were plush, but oily looking black leather office chairs.  The single chair at the head of the table was a little larger it seemed but was otherwise identical.  From the left side of the table, in the far corner was a massive plasma tv.  It, along with the rest of the entertainment system seemed to merge into one large corner piece.  There were four more doors strategically placed so they wouldn't attract attention.  Two of them, one on either side, were open.

That was when you saw the Keeper of Elysium.  She was just a little taller then average and had a runner or swimmer's build.  The embrace made her just a few years too old to be cute, but the pink in her hair, eyebrow studs, and plethora of ear piercings kept her looking just young enough.  For this particular occasion she was wearing tasteful heels and black stockings, a grey skirt and long sleeves.  She matched the description you were given. [Private to Madhu Ahkilesh: Catrina thinks you should make nice with her.  You are a clanmate and if you take the job as whip, will be dealing with her a lot.][Private to Natalya Shrevchenko: Your sire suggests a good relationship with her.  She is new too, and could use your help.][Private to Marissa Lee: Your sire suggests you be wary of the keeper because he thinks she is a test to see if any Ventrue fuck up.]

Her back was turned.  She was standing in front of the TV, chewing on the back of a pen while holding a clipboard.  She managed to hog the remote, holding it pinned between her hand and the clipboard.  There was some news on.  It had two dead bodies, both with Russian sounding names.  Police had "a suspect in mind" but further details weren't forthcoming.  The subject quickly changed to some schmuck robbing a toy store.

It didn't matter if you've never been to Elysium before or simply haven't ever been to an Elysium like this, this was cool.  Cool points for the Tremere.  Way.  Cool.  Points.

OOC: Drinks with no effects:

Virgin Schoolgirl - Sweet & a little salty
Lion's Blood - A mild salt and hint of muscle &
American Muscle - A little heavier, strong, & healthy
Spicy Italian - Imported from Rome, Just right amount of heat and thickness
Thick Russian - Heavy, meaty, & hearty
The Prince's Private Stock - Athletic, educated, wealthy black man from New York City

Drinks with side effects:

Mean Left Hook - Spiked with King Cobra & Mad Dog 20/20, the Mean Left Hook is a quick buzz that hits hard and fast for an immediate shot of liquid courage.
The Buzz - A slow striking buzz that lasts for more then a few minutes in a kindred body.  Designed to prolong the effects of an alcohol buzz.
Liar! Liar! - The rum & coke of vitae.  Fashionable and often a starter (the strongest) for newbies.
Royal Flush - Moonshine.  The real deal.
Mage Blood - Smooth and slick.  A Bombay Sapphire martini, extra dirty.  Pros only.
Kuei-Jin Blood - A frothing sweet lime flavor that is very light on the palate, almost dry.  It is also known for it's energetic tingle and pop on tongue.  Very strong side effects that could last for hours.  Master Ninjas only.

MADHU SECRET KNOWLEDGE: [Private to Madhu Ahkilesh: Catrina wants you to make nice with as many of the other neonates as possible, and to establish some form of necessary role to them.  Expect Marissa to be suspicious and Natalya to try and assume direct leadership.  Alexander the Nosferatu is most likely going to play his cards close, so pry him or goad him into helping learn more about Madisen Tandino.]

MARISSA SECRET KNOWLEDGE:  [Private to Marissa Lee: The name of your game is don't trust anyone!  Lars has you almost paranoid with the seriousness involved with your presentation.  He wanted - no needed you to win the prince's favor.  He wouldn't demand anything from you but you were still required to be polite, pretty, and professional.  You should be direct, but intelligent.  If someone else has a better idea then you, acknowledge it.  If given the chance though, take the lead.  Most of all, prove yourself an asset.  As for the other neonates, you should not trust Madhu.  Your sire had it on good sources that Madhu was a corrupt slaver who sells your boons to kinsews outlaws.  On the other hand, you should consider the Nosferatu a safe bet.  The clan is doing awesome under Dragon's rule, so any Nosferatu is automatically going to be on his good side.  Natalya is your biggest rival for absolute leadership of the new neonate coterie.  She is also the prince's favorite childe, so she is likely to try and challenge you.  On the other hand if you can get on the same page... Finally.  The Assamite girl...she is an Assamite.  Don't trust her at all until she proves otherwise.  Finally, before you arrive, your sire gives you the option to have a special tailor do you a custom piece (go until your heat's content) for a single trivial boon.  He also gives you a small brown envelope.  It has 25,000.00 dollars in it.  When you get a moment with the prince alone you are supposed to give it to him.  AND he gives you a brown leather briefcase that is quite heavy.  You know it is because it is full of money.  You counted it.  1,000,000.00 dollars.  Sometimes the best way to make friends is to buy them.  Use it as needed.]

NATALYA SECRET KNOWLEDGE:  [Private to Natalya Shrevchenko: You know a little something about everyone.  Madhu is a slaver - specializing in rare ghouls.  He is also wealthy and rumored to be Catrina's first choice for Brujah Whip.  The Assamite is a baby, a childe, and was some sort of righteous fury in life.  She can still be goaded into just causes.  The Nosferatu, Alexander, and Keeper of Elysium, Courtney, are your friends.  They both need you quite a bit for your connections and social grace.  The Assamite could be a useful ally (read: tool) if befriended (manipulated).  A blood bound Assamite is even better.  Alexander, the Nosferatu, he is likely to be your closest ally.  The Nosferatu as a whole are well off with Dragon's rule.  They will support it (and likely you, if pressed).  Yuki is your brand new baby sister.  Dragon is not sure he liked the idea of embracing her yet.  This was one of his obligatorry ones, not personal choices like...you!  Finally there is Marissa, the Ventrue.  She is walking on eggshells because of her clan, and will be on her best behavior.  If she has an idea or suggestion it is probablly a good one, so take her seriously.  At last, Dragon wants you to be on your good behavior.  You are his favorite childe and quite possibly the most powerful.  You are being watched by a great many other kindred, so doing well with these presentation with the other neonates will do wonders.]

YUKI SECRET KNOWLEDGE:  [Private to Yuki Nagasawa: You know didly and squat about any and all of this.  You are not even a week old as a vampire yet.  You haven't met any others except your sire.  You know that you are not supposed to let anyone except other vampires know that you are one.  Besides that, you don't know anything else.  Ask questions!  Ask stupid, dumb, brand-new vampire questions.  Try doing things like checking other vampires for a reflection in a mirror.  You know, be a total newb.  Natalya is another Tremere you are supposed to find and attach yourself too.  You do whatever she says and try as hard as you can to learn everything and anything she can teach you.]

ALEXANDER SECRET KNOWLEDGE:  [Private to Alexander Youngblood: The food at the bar is alright, quite good actually.  Your sire recommends it.  He also suggests coming on an empty stomache to make full use of the entire bar.  He also, as a bonus from Dragon for being a cool clan, has given all of the Nosferatu some free Armani custom suits.  You get a free "snazzy" suit that you must describe as such in your introduction description.  However, if you do, all Appearance rolls are changed from X to 1.  You do not automatically fail.  Also, you are considered to have Style 2, or two more dots in the skill if you already have it (max of 4).  Next, Virgil wants you to find out if anyone knows why Germaine and the prince have beef.  Feel free to ask.  Feel free to really press Natalya.  Natalya should be on her guard, and if she's not, Germaine can eat her up.  You also know that Natalya is definitely Dragon's favorite childe.  The chick is an utter knockout.  She is absolutely beautiful.  Gorgeous.  Let her lead.  She is better then Madhu.  He is already about to be named a Whip, making him leader and director of this coterie is just a bit overkill.  So no matter what, you have to back Natalya or Marissa.  Abigail, the Assamite is a wild card.  She is the childe of the awesome Assamite Ignetz Krebs, but she is also a newbie Assassin.  Finally, there is is Yuki, the brand new Tremere.  She is the prince's childe and has been embraced less then a week.  You are probably her very first Nosferatu contact.  So throw her a bone.  Educate her as much as you can.  Ask her questions, find out what she knows, correct the errors, and fill in the blanks.  Otherwise, feel free to act on your own.  ]

ABIGAIL SECRET KNOWLEDGE:  [Private to Abigail O'Carroll: Oh have fun.  Ignetz wants to test some of your training.  As a legal type, you were expected to learn details and pay attention to the facts.  You are supposed to do that tonight.  Ignetz wants a dossier on each member of your new "cotier" of kindred after this meeting.  Ask the hard questions.  Take shots.  Mention the failure of John to the Ventrue neonate.  Taunt Natalya for only being there because she is Dragon's childe.  Pick on Yuki, or better yet, give her false information because she is uneducated.  Because everyone else seems to be against them, side with Madhu and Marissa.  Make it interesting.]

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

DJ Inferno bursts into the room, pride putting a spring in his step.

DJ Inferno was quite the local celebrity (OOC: Fame 3), especially in the underground music scene. He was an strong up-and-comer in the 90's and even after being Embraced he continued to make a name for himself, filling the late night airwaves with his particular blend of techno, punk, trance, and metal.

Since his Embrace last year while he has stopped touring, the work that he has been publishing has met with incredible critical acclaim and he is on the verge of breaking out into mainstream media. The production value of his shows has dramatically increased as well as the quality of venues he is being booked to.

Recently he has been angling towards becoming a full-fledged Herald by using his radio station to broadcast coded messages to the Kindred of the city. The whole city knows to listen closely when called 'Big D' has something to say.

As usual, he is breaking Elysium customs by going around in his "costume" of sorts. His usual look is baggy pants, no shirt to show of his thin but muscular physique and his famous blank mask that he wears at all time when he's in public. This is the main way that he circumvents the usual problems of kindred being in the spotlight as the public has no idea what his real face look like so he can come and go as he pleases by simply removing the mask. While it's not a perfect solution and those in the music industry especially know who he is and how to reach him, it keeps his face out of the papers and that is enough to satisfy most detractors worried about the Masqeruade.

Tonight he is wearing his mask, but he has dressed up a bit for Elysium. He is wearing a nice dress shirt, albeit unbuttoned down the front to keep up his "image'. The baggy cargo pants have been replaced by actual dress pants and shoes, but the large chains coming out of the pocket hint at his 'edgy' persona.

Like a self-absorbed idiot, DJ strolls right past the trays, too engrossed with either himself or his surroundings.

When he realizes what he had done, DJ tries to slip back without anyone noticing, but after his bold entrance it was clear that he had made a faux pas and as he went back to grab a tray, he was thankful the mask kept his blushing face out of view.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

The Keeper of Elysium turned, a bit startled at the sudden arrival while she was engrossed.  She watched the masked man carefully, instantly recognizing him for his celebrity status.  Just about everyone in town knew the mask.  The kindred knew he was one of theirs.  She watched him quickly fix his mistake and start.

The serving ghoul was pudgy and Mexican.  He didn't look like he spoke any English.  In fact he didn't speak at all.  Instead, his hands waved like a magician or salesman over his products, smiling a big, high, cheesy grin.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Abigail was the next to step out of the elevator, just in time to notice inferno returning to the trays in the entrance hall, she smiled, but kept from chuckling as well as there was no reason to belittle him for such a minor slip up.

She was wearing a simple metlalic dark-green silk wrap-dress, and a pair of Black 2inch heels, accentuating her pale skin.
She stopped and picked up a tray of her own, she studied the glass and tumbler for a moment, taking in their design, before moving on to accept a drink of mage blood.
afterall when your host went to all the effort of procuring something exotic for an event, it would be rude not to try it.

As she came closer into the room she stopped and curtsied to the keeper of Elysium, as she straightened, she beheld the woman, waiting.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

[Private to ST-Jedi: Botched the call, I think. Rolled a 5 on DC 6]

Stepping into the elevator Yuki presented the acquired key to the slot after the doors had been closed behind her with a silent woosh. A tiny light behind the 11th floor turned green, there was a slight motion of the elevator cabin as it started to move. Yuki stared into the mirror adjusting a few hairs, pursing her lips. Checking her lipstick and eyeliner. ["Not to much rouge, .. perfect"]. Quickly Yuki took out a little notebook (2 by 3 1/2 ft) and quickly browsed. Reading quickly and just a moment before there was a ping that she had reached the designated floor Yuki put it away.

Time 22:58
Looking directly at the clock on the wall Yuki almost automatically looked at her watch, matching the time on her watch and the wall. Nodding to herself as it had been suggested to arrive a few minutes before eleven. Making the turn towards the suite.

Approaching it Yuki stopped dead in her tracks for a moment ["Mozart ..? Why yes. His 5th Symphony. Someone must be playing it to comfort my ears. Such a good choice of music"] Smiling Yuki continued. Walking with a determined pace into the room. Which was not quite what she had expected. It was modern looking, elegant and just simple cool. Seeing a few others here and there. Yuki tried to observe them as closely as possible without attracting to much attention to herself.

In the distance Yuki saw the woman that looked like the woman she had been described in the letter. Perhaps she would need to stop by her first and then mingle ?

Walking towards the woman Yuki noticed a masked man ["Is that ..?"] Shrugging Yuki continued to look around. Stopping at the tray with the glasses. Reading the note Yuki didn't hesitate and took one of the pair. And headed towards the girl that stood waiting close to the woman she was to address. Leaving the tray behind, since why take it with you. Right ? You only needed the glass to drink.            (OOC: not even blushing here to make a OOPS)

Stopping beside the girl Yuki looked her over, intensively. Trying to figure something out. Whispering to her (Abigail) ... "He, are we supposed to wait till she is finished ?"

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Madhu walked in coolly. He had already left his peacoat on the rack outside leaving him with his black blazer, a light blue oxford shirt with thin navy blue stripes. Fashionably worn blue jeans. Nice, but not too nice. Casual but not too casual. His boots were black. The jeans were worn normally, over the cuff of the boot so only the lower portion was visible. The ensemble was topped off with a small silver watch. Classy without being gaudy.

As Madhu walked he took in what he seen, smiling and nodding to anyone he made eye contact with. It wasn't overly excited, just a polite smile and nod. As he walked he observed what was going on and smoothly grabbed a tray and allowed himself a private chuckle at the two that had clearly not gotten the hint. The DJ got a long distance fist bump to go with his nod.

Madhu thought the mask was a little bit over the top, but to each their own. Madhu didn't particularly care for the music the DJ played, but hey, he could dance to anything.

Madhu opted to sample a little bit of everything. Food was typically disgusting, but he knew enough about the Prince's reputation to know if he had the tuttay, balls, to serve food it had to be awesome, and Madhu was not going to miss out on any of it.

Looking at his plate and trying to decide if he was looking like a pig yet he decided no, he was not, and that no amount of anything exceeded polite sampling. He settled on a Bombay Martini to drink and then took a seat. Being established in the city already had some benefits. He could chill for a minute, enjoy his snacks, and figure out who he wanted to approach first. Mentally, The DJ was shuffled to the bottom of the pile.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Natalya waited at the entry lobby to the building. Dressed impeccably, designer dress, loose enough to show skin and intrigue without looking like a hooker. Her shoes cost more than an average car in the city. Exquisitely coiffured, she had a reputation to keep up and a sire to please, not to mention an escort for tonight events. A smirk appeared at the corner of her lips as she waited. It would be quite the delightful surprise to everyone there.

She took out her public phone, testing the number provided. "I'm here already. It's chilly outside and Mozarts 5th while enjoyable, is much more enjoyable with refreshments in warmth." She smiled at the ghouls waiting hand and foot for the guests, making sure to nod and smile at everyone coming to the soiree, engaging in small talk while she waited.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Alexander did not quite dare to show himself until he was well in the lobby. He took his time though, while obfuscated to openly admire - gawk rather if he was sincere with himself - Natalya in all her splendour before showing up. Who knew if he'd have a chance like that again through out the evening.

He had been on a corner all along, waiting patiently drinking from that woman's beauty. With a sigh, he walked out "You look ravishing... although it hardly bears saying I guess", he said addressing Natalya. He had decided to go for his more elegant self today, much like he had been when entertaining his filthy rich friends back in Belgium, much like his original self before he found out and coped with the fact that he was just an ass-hole undeserving of all that easy life.

There was nothing like an Italian suit, a Caraceni no less, adjusted by hand to his measures by one of the best tailors in the city it made him almost confident of his looks. The cloth was spectacular, something between blue and grey, falling without a wrinkle making it look as if he still had a body to show for, and not the skeletal carcass that he had been left with after the embrace. He also wore a vest of the same cloth, and a burgundy silk tie over a white shirt of the best cotton. His shoes, had this rare quality of being at the same time elegant, of great quality and... imagine that, comfortable with a supple rubber sole that was somehow made look as leather.

"I am sorry for the wait, it was but the time it took me to recover control over my speech and limbs after seeing you so" he added showing half smile on his face that was meant to be playful. "Shall we then ?" he said offering her his arm, far from confident that she would take it, but knowing it was the right thing to do.

"Thank you, Alexander. Flattery will get you everywhere" Natalya smirked, a genuine smile as she was pleased at the compliment. She moved forward after giving Alexander a once over, adjusting Alexanders tie to sit better. It didn't really need it, but she preferred it to be just so. Alexander wasn't shy with the compliments, another reason to like him. "You look splendid, Alexander." and he did. She could tell from the cut, and fabric who had made it, it should improve his standing at the party. "It is tailored to perfection. You are sure to impress tonight."

Natalya stepped in beside Alexander taking his arm as they moved to elevator. "This should be an interesting night. There's a lot that can be said about Dragon, but he certainly knows how to throw a party, and I'm afraid I must insist that you dance with me at least once tonight." Natalya nodded to herself, wondering if the others were running late too. She decided to give Alexander a hint. "The music is Mozart's fifth. Be sure to compliment the host on his choice."

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

"Thank you" said Alexandre as Natalya set his tie. Smiling with joy at her comments, he led Natalya towards the elevator "It actually takes flattery, money and... the looks" he said making a grand gesture with his off hand to his entire frame "and as you noticed I have doubled my charms ever since my embrace. No more worrying about keeping a diet, my whole figure a permanent charm" he added not in the least feeling sombre about the thing, but rather making fun of his own condition.  Alexander had a most pronounced french accent on his speaking, a sandy voice rich in the lower tones that seemed strange coming from such a frail appearance.

Once they entered the elevator, and as the doors closed leaving them away from prying ears, his conversation turned a bit more serious  "Thank you for the tip on the music, and as long as we are at it, you might want to compliment your Sire for his taste with regards to quality clothing, I hardly make justice to this fine present" .

He paused a bit, it was clearly a give and take business and it was good to be able to return the little favors. "As for the dancing I must say that it will be at your own risk, and I am giving you a fair warning, my dancing skills never were my forte. Talking about risks though, I'll be happy to offer you what help I can with regards to your security and Germaine, at that, I might be better than at dancing, if only a little bit. Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

The Keeper of Elysium shook her head at Inferno as he continued to move about.  She hadn't said anything to Abigail and pointedly ignored Yuki as well.  She had noticed the arrival of Madhu, and then of Alexander and Natalya.  She seemed pleased by Madhu, and at least attentive to Natalya and Alexander.  When the trio made their own conversation, she took it upon herself to approach Inferno.

"Why are you wearing that in here?" She smiled politely and put a finger to her lips, indicating your only required response was silence.  "I know who you are and who your sire is.  I know she expects more of you tonight then atrocious attire and a blatant disregard for the Masquerade."  She paused and smiled again.  "If you don't want to be the laughing stock of the city when the prince arrives, you might consider fixing that."

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Madhu listened to Alexander and Natalya for a minute and tried to not roll his eyes out of his head. "Just what the Camarilla needs," he thought, "another self-hating Nosferatu." He looked around the room and then back on them and thought about what Catrina had instructed him to do. A new Nosferatu and Natalya in the same spot...

That was as good a place as any to start. Standing up he grabbed his drink, which would excuse him from hugging anyone, popped another piece of cake in his mouth and headed over. He timed his steps so the cake was neatly chewed and swallowed before was within four feet of them.

He looked at Natalya as he walked. She looked exquisite, but she always did. There was something about her. Prince Juan had fantastic taste in women, that was for certain. Even his little rebel of a childe was adorable. Alexander carried himself well, probably an aristocrat he thought. Alexander the Great is what the name evoked. The man who, when faced with invading the island city of Tyre built a bridge that has permanently altered the coast of Lebanon. Somehow he couldn't imagine the Alexander in front of him leading an army to do anything.

Stepping close Madhu greeted Natalya first, "You look lovely Natalya. It's good to see you, I was wondering how many of us veterans would be here." He kissed her on the cheek in the Middle Eastern style. It was polite, but warm and familiar. He extended his hand to Alexander. "Madhu Ahkilesh. Alexander, yes?"

Marissa arrived a little before 11pm, there were several people there already there. Several she knew already, but as always there were a few new faces that she only recognized from her quick briefing with Lars. The new prince had gone to great lengths to make a spectacular first impression. Drinks were available, food was made ready even though it was unlikely to be eaten much. She could see the Keeper on the other side of the room greeting those that had already arrived and no doubt getting the latest scoop. She had herself had to great lengths to make a proper first impression tonight as well. She wore a tailored small black cocktail dress. The lacy overlay and snug fit showed every curve she had and still left quite a bit to the imagination. Her 3 inch black heels raised her height to nearly 6ft tall and emphasized every curve of her long legs. Her hair was done up in a sweep at the crown with curls hanging down in the back. Even her clutch purse was properly accessorized. At first she wasn’t all that thrilled with the prospect of coming here tonight on her own, but seeing all the buzzing about the room was giving her a much needed lift.

She spotted Natalya chatting away and decided to pay her respects to the new Prince’s childe. “Natalya, looking as perfect as ever.  Dragon has spared no expense tonight.”

Abigail watched patiently as the Keeper scolded The masked buffoon, there was little reason to interrupt that, and bring herself into the keepers crosshairs.

Much rather wait, let this little scene play out, then head over to greet the keeper, when she was done with the current subject of her ire.

And what better to do while waiting, than taste a brief sip of the blood she'd been offered, she wondered if a mage tasted any different than regular humans.

she did take note of all the other arrivals, giving a faint smile to each, but reserving her first words to the keeper, the hostess for this evening, out of respect.

Natalya introduced Alexander to the people that chose to greet her. "Yes, Dragon does have extravagant taste and when he chooses to share, his soirees are legendary." she amiled as Madhu made himself, known moving forward to hug him and kiss him on the cheek. She dicded it might be wise to talk to him for a little bit to find out what was new in Madhu's world and to allow Alexander to relax a little under the spotlight. "It is very pleasant to see you here Madhu,. The veterans are here to help guide the recruits and make sure they get home safely in a manner of speaking." she smiled politely, moving forward into the room."How are things going for you? Anything that might interest me, crop up in your line of merchandise?"

"Marissa! A delight as always" she moved forward to hug the woman and kiss her on each cheek. "You look positively stunning this evening. Have you met Alexander?" the smile reached her eyes. "I do hope we have some time to talk. Would you care to join us?"

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Alexander took his tray with his left hand, following Natalya's lead. Much as he had been all his life mingling among high society, it was clear all these came from a time when high society was a different beast, and man was he happy to have Natalya taking the lead not to make an ass of himself.

It was a pity that their conversation had been cut short, with Madhu coming as if Natalya had a magnet... 'could hardly blame him on that regard though... and such a blatant mention about veterans, what was that, the Indian castes mindset showing or just that he was that blunt?. Anyway, the guy was waiting for an answer..' "Why yes, Alexandre, actually" he said marking the 'dre' at the end of the name, and pronouncing it in French "French delight at seeing foreigners try their throats at our r's, however, I am Belgium myself, much simpler folk, we get by with a hey you and a beer".

He paused a bit, smiling as he extended his hand towards Madhu. "At any rate, I am quite pleased to finally make your acquaintance, much have I heard about you and I am glad to have the chance to congratulate you in your imminent change of status as Whip". His extended hand, was but a bony shade of what it used to be, it's skin, a thick leathery brownish thing that covered his prominent bones, his handshake, fishy and without strength.

As Natalya retook her conversation with Madhu and introduced Marissa, Alexander turned his attention to her "Enchanté" he said, as the presentation was made inclining his head to the lady. As conversation did not immediatly follow he offered "Would any of you care for a drink" solicitously addressing Natalya, then Marissa and finally Madhu, offering to pick the drinks up for them.

Looking around as he went for the drinks, he saw the keeper talking with the DJ, and Abigail already enjoying a drink quite possibly waiting to get a word with the Keeper. That left Yuki alone, so he made wide gesture to the newly embraced indicating the drinks and waving her to come join them.

He was well aware that he was placing himself under their level, serving them in that way, but that was all right in his books, he actually was a different caste in more than one way, but at any rate, he knew it served him well to place himself there, people felt a certain confidence when they knew that others were not trying to compete on their same level.

Looking at the selected choice of drinks, Alexander decided to try a Thick Russian just out of spite, he had never actually tasted the fuckers, and now that he could, he would not let the opportunity pass. He did not sip it though, holding it in his hand and making it turn a bit... he so hated coagulation, and even though the drinks had probably been treated to avoid it, it was something of a reflex coming maybe from his years drinking wine.

He picked the rest of the drinks for the others, and brought them expertly handling the beautiful glasses with the grace of a life long butler, and giving each his drink. Before trying a drop, he said to the little group gathered "I am sure we all agree, that is only natural that first toast should be hers to make" deferring to Natalya and taking a step back. 'Lets hope this starts sorting things out in their natural order' he thought as he waited for the Brindis.

OOC: Yuki, I left it more or less open for you to decide wether you join the group or not, or if you would just signal me to bring you the drink... or do whatever you please, do not feel at all forced one way or the other.

Natalya nodded at Alexanders offer to fetch a drink, asking for the Kei Jin's blood. Daring to start with so potent a brew, but this wasn't the first time she'd tasted it. A very rare treat. As he returned with the glass, Natalya slowly turned the glass in her hand, enjoying the fragrance of the blood within. A heady scent, one could almost be lost in it. As she opened her eyes she smiled and thanked Alexander for getting it for her. An amused smirk and raised eyebrow for him suggesting that she be the first to toast.

"One never knows precisely what to say as a toast. There are many things that could be suggested. Most of which are ultimately meaningless. Let us instead toast something we can all agree on..... to auspicious beginnings and new friendships" she raised her glass, taking a slow measured sip of the blood.

OOC: Nah, 's cool. Yuki had been waiting if Abigail would return a word or 2. *grins*

Seeing Courtney was 'occupied' and at the same time this person next to her seemed to have chosen for the moment to ignore her, Yuki looked around. Several now present did have that golden plate with them. ["Is it then part of a set your supposed to be holding up, now that is so inconvenient. So bothersome and silly."] Turning her head Yuki made a quick step or two to pick up the golden plate. Placing her glass ontop of it. It did look quite like a match afterall. Still ..

From the corner of her eye Yuki sees someone motion towards her. ["Now, is a good moment to get to know something"] Unsure what to do. Yuki simple put the half-empty glass and plate back to where she had found it. And as Alexander gave her a glass Yuki took a peek in it. It didnt look stranger then she had thought it would. It smelled good though. About to take a sip Yuki overheard the man and removed the glass away from her face before she had taken an actuall sip of .. whatever it was that .. it was. Watching them all. Their every move. How did they hold the glass up in the air. Was there a certain facial expression ..

Then, after apparently the woman named Natalya had made a short speech Yuki to took a sip "A new beginning and friendships that may last" .. ["She must be important or something to be given the place to toast. I'll have to keep an eye out on her I think. See what she does"]

Beneath his mask, DJ smiled. His sire had warned him as such and they had a lengthy arguement over this over the upcoming week. In the end, Inferno had won. In the end it was difficult for a Toreador of any age to resist such artistic freedom.

DJ nodded his head, bowing respectfully in front of the Keeper.

"To ask such a thing means that you do not know who I am. This mask is who I am, who I was, who I shall ever be. If you think that removing the mask makes me more approachable, more presentable, more knowable then you only delude yourself."

His voice is smooth as butter, dancing around syllables and rhythm like a classical ballerina. It is almost hypnotic, in its own way. Even as he speaks words that would ordinarily seem insulting, somehow it comes off as less then that, the tone even and calm presenting not a hostile challenge of authority but more of a warm professor providing illumination.

"If you ask me one more time, dear Keeper, I will of course have no choice but to acquiesce but know that beneath the outer shell lies my true mask."

[Private to DJ Inferno: App4 is meaningless when nobody can see what you look like. ]

Madhu smiled, and shook Alexander's hand. When he asked Madhu about his resent ascent to Whip he frowned, visibly. The height or rudeness. A pointless one up. This pissed the Brujah off. He felt the anger in his gut rise up but he strapped it down. "Not now... There is work to be done."

Instead, he fired back, "Ah... Well I'll call you Alex and meet you in the middle. Since you went from Alexander the Great to something less..." Madhu looked for a word and shrugged. "Less." He offered after a minute. "Word travels slowly down the ranks of the Nosferatu it seems. My promotion was imminent for only a few minutes, as I almost immediately agreed to serve Catrina in that capacity." He turned to Natalya, "That is the big news I had, but it seems our new friend here was eager to steal my thunder." He looked back at Alexander. "A favor I will not forget." The words had an edge to them that clearly said , "You have just made an enemy."

Madhu let go of the Nosferatu's hand with disgust. Not disgust that he was a Nosferatu, but disgust that this man took a slight where there was none, and then decided to make an enemy of Madhu. When he asked if anyone had a drink Madhu waved the offer off by holding his up and then returned his attention to the others. Alexander would be ignored for the rest of the night.

When Alexander returned he let him finish and toasted along with Natalya and the others. He introduced himself to Yuki and made polite talk until the new Toreador arguing with the Keeper caught his eye. He frowned and weighed intervening against leaving it alone then decided it might be best for his long term goals to save the youngling. "If you'll all excuse me. Catrina has me working this evening and part of it welcoming the new arrivals to the city. I need to go save our resident celebrity from the Keeper of Elysium. I'll return soon." He smiled at Yuki and Natalya and Marissa. Pointedly not addressing the Nosferatu.

The Indian covered the ground quickly to Courtney and Inferno and injected himself right into their verbal stand off like a brick being injected through a window. Stopping close enough to Inferno to be uncomfortable.

Personal space invaded? Check.

He put a hand on the small of Inferno's back.

Unnecessary contact? Check.

"DJ Inferno! I am quite a fan of your work." He beamed but then shook his head. "Oh dear, my manners..." He turned to Courtney. "I apologize for interrupting. I its lovely to see you again." He turned to Inferno. "I'd say something similar to you my friend except that you seem to have forgotten this affair is Kindred only. There is no need to wear it. After all, we're all here to become friends and built profitable partnerships." He stuck out his left hand for a shake. "Madhu Ahkilesh, Ghoul Procurement Specialist, and as of earlier this evening, Whip for Primogen Catrina Armstrong. Now let's get that mask off, refill our drinks, and go join the party."

He didn't wait for a reply from Inferno, he reached up and started to grab at the mask. It was brash, and rude, but it was either get it off of him now, or let the Prince see it, or really, any elder who might show up to night, and have the young man's career demolished for the next few decades. A faux pas like that could take a very long time to live down.

To anyone casually observing, Madhu's actions would probably look like an over zealous fan. To anyone in the know they could see he was doing the DJ a huge favor by forcing that mask off now before anyone too important showed up.

He gave Inferno an urgent look that seemed to say, "Trust me. This needs to come off. Now."

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Alexander knew perfectly well that he had somewhat spoiled part of the fun from Madhu, he hadn't really wanted to steal his thunder (he had to smile just to think about the choice words) but rather, he had just wanted to lessen the impact it may have had on the others. The man clearly had his merit, else he wouldn't get to be Whip. But anyway, he was clearly overreacting, 'touchy... at least it was now clear that he was not an idiot, he was not subtle, and he had a temper. I wish Virgil had bothered letting me know this finer details, but now it was a bit late. Lets see if I tread around the guy more carefully next time '.

So, instead of going for "Alex will be just perfect... all my lovers have always called me so", not wanting to make a fool of the guy, and a permanent enemy in the process, he switched to a more simple and heartfelt "I am sorry I've been such a spoiler for you, I am sure I will find some way to compensate my slight", and he truly was, but he knew it would just come as a noisy buzz in the Brujah's ears.

As Madhu left to save the Toreador, sipping from his 'Thick Russian' glass as he saw him try to take the mask off the DJ. Alexander sighed, "He will make a great Whip..." he paused for a second remembering he was in company, and looking at the two ladies he said "But I must apologize for my poor judgement of his reaction, it just goes to show my lack of skill, anyway, I guess I'll have to make it up to him somehow. In the mean time I remain at your disposal ladies, I do not easily get offended, so any question that you may have, I'll be most happy to oblige" at this last bit, he pointedly addressed Yuki being the youngest of all.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

As soon as Madhu reaches up for the mask, blood courses through DJ's veins and he reacts quickly, taking a step back and smacking Madhu's hand away.

Looking between the Keeper and the Brujah, DJ lets out a sigh and looks back at the Keeper.

"I now understand your concerns. I do not wish to distract those around me from what is really important. My apologies, Madame Keeper, this is your party not mine."

He bows and pulls off his mask, letting his long brown hair tumble freely to his shoulders. Surprisingly, he is gorgeous, clearly not needing the mask to hide any deficiencies in his appearance. He secures the mask to the chain at his side with some locking mechanism and lets it dangle.

Despite his earlier extreme reaction, he seems rather calm. The perceptive sorts might even notice the hint of a smile and note the hidden jab he had taken at the intrusive Brujah.

[Private to Madhu Ahkilesh: Read the description for Appearance again, it covers more then just physical looks. Posture, confidence, fashion sense, everything that encompasses a first impression. DJ's specialty is in Unconventional Dress i.e. looking good in things besides suit & tie. He makes the "slob look" look good :D

On a personal note, I find Elysium's where everyone is wearing a suit & tie or tux to be boring. Toreador is a clan of expression so why shouldn't they have some 'eccentric' dressers? The point of DJ is to spark discussions on a wide number of subjects, namely fame in the mortal realm as well as Elysium traditions. He doesn't wear a suit and tie, in fact if it was anyone else they would be kicked from Elysium or run out with embarassment. DJ somehow makes the look look good, but the question still debates, is it appropriate? If there is an easy answer to that question then it defeats the purpose of the character.

Abigail let out an astonished gasp as Madhu so brashlu walks up and grabs for the mask of DJ inferno, yes wearing the mask itself was ridiculess and completely unacceptable.

But Madhu's act could in a way be viewed as an act of agression, which was a far worse transgression when performed within Elysium.
However she recovered fairly quickly, and chose to assume the keeper had no issue with the act.

Abigail approached the keeper.
"Good evening, Keeper, I am Abigail O'Carrol, a pleasure to meet you"

Natalya watched the events unfold with a cool eye. Leaning forward she whispered into Alexanders ear. "It would seem as though the auspices regarding your presence are not...favourable. Madhu is a passionate man. Your gesture will fall on deaf ears tonight. Try another time when he is in need, or if you hear some juicy tidbit which might appeal to him." she turned smiling at Madhu's approach to DJ Inferno. She'd have done the same, and was about to suggest to the Keeper that it was time enough for her to take steps. Fortunately Madhu had pointed out the obvious and the man had realised he'd stretched civility just enough. "We were all young once Alexander, no need to apologise to me. You will make mistakes and this... was one of them. But let us move on to more entertaining things, may I Introduce Yuki? Yuki, please meet Alexander. “A fine thing to toast too.” Marissa replied to Natalya as she took a sip from her glass. Since she wasn’t sure what was in it, she wouldn’t drink all of it, but just enough to be polite.

Alexander's handshake with Marissa had been warm - if one could say so from a vampire - and affectionate "The pleasure is all mine Marissa" he said.

Listening to Natalya whisper in his ear, was probably among the list of sensations that were worth repeating, and, had it happened a few years ago, he would have most likely lost the meaning of any of the words she had pronounced. Things had improved, but not so much, his witticisms had seemingly dissolved, and most he could do was make do with a nod.

As she resumed her normal talking though, he smiled, quickly recovering from his lack of wits and bringing his attention towards Yuki as Natalya presented her "Pleased to meet you Yuki, I'll be honoured to fill in any questions that you might have with regards to my clan, or well, whatever you want to ask me about, it's usually best to get the information from the source... and I would be most delighted to learn about your work, you see, I have sometimes been tangentially in touch with your line of work.".

Again, he nodded at Natalya's mention to present to the Keeper "Soon as she is freed, if none of you wish to speak to her then, I'll take my leave to present myself" he said graciously offering to wait for them to present themselves first.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Yuki, slowly sipping .. the drink she had gotten. Observes the conversations between the Kindred. Wondering if this bickering .. argueing .. throwing with words, was the way coversations went between her kind. Though the time she had spend. However briefly, with her Sire was quite different. Quite .. indeed. Seeing each of the kindred was different. Even in behaviour Yuki thought was as normal as she could have thought of it. Afterall .. mortals .. humans, all were different aswell. Right ?

As Natalya 'introduced' Yuki to Alexandre Yuki made a curtious nod and spoke softly, kindly "Dear Alexandre, I hope it doesn't sound to rude but I do have a question for you." Yuki pursed her lips together, wondering "That man and you, is it how we all are supposed to talk to one-another. Seeing it wasn't quite what I had.." dramatic pause "..expected"

All the while as Yuki spoke with Alexandre she was eyeing the mans appearance, it was quite shocking in a sort of strange curious akward way. Hideous, and still so well mannered, wich made it less hideous. ["How did you become so .. odd looking ?"] she would have to ask Alexandre one of these days to sit beside her and let him tell everything he knew .. everything

Once Alexandre had finished answering her question, if he would Yuki would then draw her eyes almost unwillingly away from him. And nod to Natalya .. "Yes, I do suppose we shouldnt let her waiting. Shall we then" Giving a smile to the Nos. "I do hope this will be an interesting evening, so much to see and .." in her mind Yuki added ["Learn .."]

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Alexander hmm'd pondering Yuki's question, his whole demeanour had changed from a gay attitude to a serious one in the blink of an eye. He rubbed his chin, his bony fingers caressing it, and actually making a raspy sound much similar to leather rubbing on leather. His eyes, small an black fixed Yuki for a few seconds before answering.

His sandy voice was barely above a whisper as he replied "First of all, I wouldn't take myself as an example, you will do best to follow exemplary behaviour within your clan" he said this, nodding at Natalya and Marissa. "As for this exchange in particular... let's see... Madhu was quite right to feel slighted, the level at which he took it though I will not judge, had it been me I would have played it differently, but that does not make it right or wrong. I knew he was to be named Whip and, as from within the little group of those present here, I would much rather follow the lead of Natalya or Marissa, I decided to lessen the impact of his news, to prepare a better ground for them." he paused a bit there. "So no, not an example, but at least something to learn from.".

He had somehow emptied his glass of Thick Russian at some point, and was ready to try some of the more 'original' stuff. Returning to a more jovial tone again, he looked at Yuki, "I quite frankly expected questions more on the lines of 'why do you look like an old shoe?', but as I said, I'll try to answer all your questions as best as I possibly can".

DJ made a hasty retreat from the main room, appearing a short time later in dramatically improved dress. His shirt buttoned and tucked in, an expensive suit coat that he pulled from...somewhere?

Gone was the rock star, entering now was the playboy. The two looks were such night and day that if it wasn't for the mask still secured to his left hip then one might almost mistake him for a new comer. He grabbed a tray off the bar and picked up a 'Buzz' from the ghoul as well as a few other delectable bloody treats.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

There was no denying the fiasco in the center of the room between the new Toreador and of all kindred, the Keeper of Elysium.  It was terribly poor etiquette and everyone, everyone noticed what was going on!  It was impossible not too.

"Thank you Mr. Ahkilesh."  Yes, Courtney looked happy.  Then she smiled broadly and moved towards one of the side doors.  Those who knew the politics of kindred unlife could take a mental tally. So far the name of a Primogen has been dropped, and it was the Brujah one.  So the Brujah were in the lead... "And please.  If you go through the game room and into the bath, you will see that a special wardrobe has already been seen to.  Your sire has been most generous."  Yes.  The Brujah were teaming up...

But the last words she had uttered rang the worst.  Your sire has been most generous. That week long argument you had...you didn't win.  You didn't win at all.  You thought you won.  But you really weren't even close.  An elder of Miss Delavergne's age and capacity doesn't lose an argument on Elysium behavior to a yearling neonate, let alone her own childre!  She educates them.

Dora already knew her childe was going to be a jackass, and so she gave him enough rope to hang himself with, while still making sure she couldn't hurt her own position.

OOC: Perception + Sense Motive (diff 7) or if you don't have it, Politics (diff 8) to figure out Dora's motivations.

If ever there was a time for DJ Inferno to feel like the kid in the middle of the lunch room with no clothes on, this was it.  Because everyone in the room was staring at him.  Madhu and Courtney had that sick team up look.  The Nosferatu.  The most hideous thing to look at came bundled and packaged in a rather exquisite custom Armani suit, tie, and vest.  He did not seem impressed.  In fact, he sort of seemed to be pimp.  He came in with Natalya on his arm.  Now he had two more fine looking ladies, a tall brunette in heels and a sexy cocktail dress, and an Asian chick who seemed to have the same deer-in-the-headlights look you did.

Natalya had formed up along the side of the Keeper and the other unknown stood in front, but just enough off to the side to not be obstructing.  Not a one of them had seemed impressed.  After a 12 second uncomfortable pause, Courtney put her hands together, smiled a friendly smile again and stepped forward.

"Now that that is all taken care of." She turned towards Abigail first.  "Hello Miss O'Carroll.  You are the childe of Ignetz, yes?  I deeply apologize for what may have seemed like I was brushing you off a moment ago.  Please, enjoy the refreshments and mingle."

The Keeper of Elysium turned out to be a wealth of useful information if questioned and spoken to.  She took the few seconds to meet with everyone, starting with those who had approached her first.  She already knew Natalya and clearly had taken a liking of sorts to Madhu.  That could just all be based on current circumstances though.

At some point she even selects a tray, and does like Madhu did, and grabs a bit of everything.  She does not settle on the Martini though, and instead starts with a Spicy Italian while eating.  Courtney seemed to like it, too, especially the cake(?).  "The cake is not a lie." She had said after finishing.

Abigail was still thinking about getting another drink, piqued by the still unidentifiable peculiarity in the Mage Blood while Alexander worked his way through the Thick Russian.  The Russian was the exact opposite of what reality says should happen.  It was thick and muddy but tasted like a strong, salty, vodka.  Definitely a little bitter too.  Clearly it was an acquired taste.  The Liar! Liar! seemed to be most requested, while Natalya proved she was pro by going right for the Cathayan blood...

Introductions were met, and it was almost 25 after.

OOC:  I know I did a little time jumping in there.  I did it so that each of you had a window to ask the keeper something if you wanted, or even continue amongst yourselves.  Basically, I wanted to make it so that you could continue to interact.  I think it's pretty easy to see how it all is going.  :D

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

DJ remained apart from the others, his mood quickly deteriorating from arrogant jackass to sulky angst.

It was clear that it was taking awhile for everything to sink in but he was finally realizing why his sire had let him go out the way she did. Someone with less pride might have still been able to salvage the situation, making a comment about how he prefers working over the radio or something along those lines to diffuse the situation. A person with less pride would be able to use this as a learning opportunity and still be able to enjoy the night.

Then again, a person with less pride wouldn't have worn what he had worn to his first Elysium.

DJ felt trapped. His pride was wounded and after a decade of being surrounded by yes men, a large fish in a small pond he was finally starting to realize that he had been dumped into an ocean full of sharks. His fingers tapped nervously at his side as he tried to calm his nerves and take his mind off of things by composing. The one consolation of this whole ordeal is that nothing fueled creativity like pain, and he had a feeling that after tonight he would be able to produce another chart topper.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Madhu watched Inferno's return with a small sigh of relief. He had managed to avoid being condescending, and instead had helped the youngling save considerable face when compared to how badly things could have turned out. Now, however, it was time to go claim his reward, and perhaps forge a new partnership.

Madhu grabbed his tray, replaced the missing nibbly bits with the ones he liked from his first round, replaced his drink and went over to Inferno and sat down next to him, placing his tray on the table.

"All things considered, that could have been much worse." He looked over at Inferno amicably. "All things considered, you owe me. Well, technically your sire does, but I'm much more interested in building a partnership with you." He looked at the Toreador plainly. "Your radio station is pretty popular with the young Kindred out there, especially the Anarchs. How familiar with them are you?" Madhu's voice dropped a few decibels so that only Inferno could hear him.

Abigail nodded to Courtney.  "Indeed I am, no offence taken"
She shrugged, noticing inferno 'limping' out of the room with his wounded pride, she kept her voice just loud enough to ensure everyone, including the unfortunate neonate, heard...

"Afterall, we can't have The Mask bouncing around here"
The reference wasn't all that subtle, afterall most of the kindred around would have watched the Jim Carrey comedy of the same name, about a man turning into an abominable cartoonish mockery whenever he put on his mask.

Looking slightly down at Alexander "...Ow, well." It sounded as if it had been a suggestion that she needed to ask such a question. Yuki smiled pleasently tapping her chin as if for a moment considering what to do. "I'll indulge on you, why do you look like an old shoe ?" Yuki gave the Nos a sort of smile that radiated innocence.

Looking aside away from the little group that masked man seemed to be sulking about something, seeing him. but what direction did he look at. It was so hard to tell when someone had a mask on. What laid beneath was a mysterie.

Yuki whispered so only those closeby could overhear (Normally speaking offcourse, unless you are eavesdropping) "Who is that ? And why has he been his face behind a mask, did he have a sort of accident or .. something ?" though Yuki wasn't actually insisting it would be ugly or drop dead gorgeous. But more like in the sense of needing to hide it for shame or otherwise.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Abigails comment stings the already wounded pride. Beneath closed lips his jaw works back and forth, chewing over insults and witty retorts but for the first time that night he shows a bit of restraint. His fingers tap out a series of beats on the side of his pants as he continues mentally composing.

DJ's eyes narrow at Madhu's first comment. It is plainly clear that he dosen't feel any sense of gratitude towards the Brujah. Those who had watched the situation could see that it was the Keeper's words along with his sire's timely package that had forced DJ's change of clothes, not the arrogant Brujah now claiming credit.

Any feelings of animosity were wiped away at the mention of his radio station and DJ seemed to relax and seem normal for the first time that night. Gone was the arrogant celebrity and the wounded teenager. Now shown the passion of a true artist.

He smiles, for the first time a geniune one.

"I've been rather sheltered since the Embrace. I know about them but I have not had any interaction with them. It has been difficult balancing all of...this with my music. Then again, this has been proving to be an interesting creative source to fuel my music. Just now I was thinking about a new tune I'll call Smokey Eyes"

Before Madhu can stop him DJ starts rattlign off lyrics, spoken to form a poem of sorts. It's rather short, about a woman with smokey eyes. The woman is filled with burning feelings of inadequacy that emits 'smoke' that clouds her eyes and poisons her breaht. It seems like any other modern lyric, maybe a little more or less clever then any other pop song out there, drivel that serves no real purpose other then to be an attempt at philosphy.

Then the last line metinos the woman wrapped in jade and as he speaks it, he looks at Abigail. He smiles at her and tips his head. Clever minds would then notice that Abigail seems to fit the physical description of "Smokey Eyes" to a tee, in a song that would most likely be played over and over on local radio and enter the minds of young kindred and mortals alike.

OOC:
Charisma + Expression (or Performance, whichever you preer) to form his subtly insulting lyrics

You rolled 3 successes using 8d10 with the World of Darkness 3rd ed, Specialised system with a target of 6, rerolling 10s

@Yuki, fyi DJ is gorgeous under his mask. The mask is clearly an artistic choice not a "phantom of the opera" freak necessity.

Madhu looked from Abigail to Inferno and back as he started reciting the poem and looked confused. " Hey, you're kinda retarded huh? Anyway, your sire owes me a favor for saving you from the Keeper of Elysium and literally, everyone else here. Sorry she expected the worst from you and I busted you out first, but thems the breaks kid."

Madhu decided to put some distance between himself and the Toreador for the time being. He was doing that "art" thing. Not that Madhu couldn't appreciate it, but it wasn't his thing.

So instead he sat off on his own while he tried to get his bearings again and enjoyed his drink. His position was pretty open and he kept himself available, but it was clear he was done talking to Inferno.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Alexander picked up a Royal Flush, he really didn't know about the drinks effects, but this one seemed a bit less harmful than the others because of some strange notion that had grown in his head out of no real data. Pretty conscious of this, but still not eager not to trust his first gut instincts, he picked it and turned again to check on Yuki.

She was still waiting for his answer, so it didn't look like she was making a fool of him, did she really not know ? at any rate, better to give an accurate answer "There are different families, clans, or bloodlines depending on how you look at it and how accurate you want to be you'd call them one or the other depending on which, I particularly like clan, as its less specific... in some cases families fits to perfectly, and in others you'd say bloodlines.... anyway, I am digressing. The thing is, that each carries a particular curse that passes from Sire's to Childer. I, am of the Nosferatu, and our curse is that shortly after the embrace, although the timing varies from one individual to the other, we change... for the worse. We are transformed into the monsters we are. The degree and the form of the transformation varies from one individual to the next, but you can count on us on being disgusting".

He paused taking a sip from the drink and savoring it. It felt ... hmmm it was nice... "Anyway, I used to carry a picture of how I looked before I changed into my present charms, but given that it didn't help me find a girlfriend in the least, I decided to get rid of it.... what I can tell you is that it hurt like hell, I vomited some sort of liquified meat for weeks, each piece felt as if I was tearing it with my own teeth from my own body... and I am barely on my bones... hmmm... some people get it even worse though" he had a long gulp from his drink, his eyes unfocussed as he remembered those particular weeks of his life... "Hmmm it bears saying though, that all in all, it is not as bad as it may seem to you... Any other question you may want to ask me ?... ask away" he said with a smile.

OOC, assuming the three of you had exchanged a word with the Keeper, or did not seem interested in doing it, Alexander would present himself to her.

"If you will excuse me for a second, I think its time for me to present myself to the Keeper". He left the cup and tray on a table before moving to meet her, it somehow felt wrong to do so with things in his hands to eat and drink... and why not, to fumble with. Then he walked to a step or two of her, in a few graceful strides, and waited to be addressed if nothing else with her regard.

He bowed to the woman, not alarmingly, but enough to show her respect, "Keeper... Miss Hart. I am Alexander Youngblood, childe of Virgil Youngblood of the Nosferatu" he hoped stating the obvious was not wrong, but still, that was how he had seen the presentation done once without a disastrous reply, and so, he wasn't about to change it to be a smart-ass "Thank you for dedicating this time to us and making all this possible here, I am not even sure if its you we have to thank for all the attention put to detail... even Mozart's Fifth... Anyway, if there is anything I can help you with... I am sure that just the possibility of a simple advice from you, should the need arise would be more than worth performing any service you'd require".

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Madhu started to walk away when Inferno started reciting lyrics but changed his mind less than five feet from the Toreador and stopped. Gritting his teeth he turned around and looked down at him. "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Back the motherfuck up!" His voice was loud enough to be heard by anyone in Elysium, and clearly over the lyrics that were being spoken, even by Inferno.

Once Madhu was happy he had everyone's attention he started speaking again, "Okay, you flowery cunt, listen to me. Not only did I do you the fucking favor of saving you the flaying your sire would've given you over that gay mask, but I went even further by coming over here and talking you, only to have you spit in my fave by cutting me off and reciting faggy poetry? I should rip your arms off and beat you with them." Madhu growled and leaned forward towards Inferno. "Instead, I'm going to do you another favor, and as someone with infinitely more status than you at this motherfucking junction, you can leave before I smear you across the floor." Madhu waved his hands dismissively to indicate he was not kidding. "Not only am I established and released, I'm the whip for Clan Brujah. Leave. Now. Before I spend the rest of my night raking you across the coals. Trust me. You want to leave."

Madhu's expression said it plainly, he was going to ruin Inferno if he could, and he could, easily. Madhu was released, and well established in Charlotte. Add to that, he was a position holder. Madhu was important... Leaving would be smart before the older, more equipped Brujah unloaded his guns on the DJ.

Madhu's demeanor, posture and words made painfully evident that the Brujah was not trying to over rule the Prince or Keeper of Elysium by telling Inferno to leave. Instead he was forcing Inferno to pick between disappointing his sire, or spending the rest of the night getting ridiculed, and disappointing his sire anyway. Inferno had opted to satisfy his sissy artsy whims, and Madhu had taken offense, and the Toreador was going to pay the price.

[Private to DJ Inferno: Nothing personal, but Madhu was trying to make a deal and even forge an awesome political partnership when you had Inferno start going about the poetry.]

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

The Keeper of Elysium had taken the time to address Alexander properly, inform him that Mozart's 5th was actually the last thing being played.  She hadn't changed it.  The extras were simply a rarity brought out by the prince.  Most of the time, the extra drinks and even edible blood food was reserved for saloons and specifically elder occasions that warranted it.  Most of the time it was considered a bit tacky by the harpies.  If she had to guess, she would wager that the prince was feeling nostalgic and just wanted to show off some of the more rare possessions he had.  The "glasses" everyone was using were actually gifts to him from a powerful and greatfull mortal whose name had long ago faded into history.  They were nearly two centuries old, and hand crafted in India.

"Goddamnit."  Courtney cursed to nobody in particular from her seated spot across the room.  "Madhu!" She raised her voice.  "Like him or not, he is required to be here.  I suggest you control yourself and remember that your position has not been formally acknowledged by his majesty.  Therefore it has no bearing." She stood up.  She looked a little taller then she was.  She also looked a little flushed with anger, but it could just be her rapid intake of blood too.

"You would also do well to remember that his sire is Dora Delavergne.  Were I you, I would be more worried about the flaying I will receive at her whim for continuing to agitate an already bested and humiliated childe that as of now, is still under her protection." She finished with a straight face and raised eyebrow.

...

Crud.  So just who did Dora owe exactly?  Was it Madhu?  Was it Courtney?  Was Inferno just continuing to dig deeper and deeper?  Keep tuning in to find out...

Abigail straightened a bit, about halfway through the lyrics, she smiled at the room, and curtsied at the end.
Then waited for MAdhu and Courtney to finsih it off, before she spoke.
"Still his skill must be complimented, I did honestly not think to describe myself with such colorfull words, neither did I realize that my kin were capable of spewing venom"
she let that hang in the air for a moment, those who knew of her heritage, and knew even the slightest bit of the clan as well would pick up on it, the rest, would be wondering for a long time.
"That aside, I would suggest you consider to exercise restraint in the future, at least in the future consider who you may antagonize, and what they may be capable of bringing to bear on you."
It seemed like Abigail had forgiven Inferno his ill considered lyrics.

Madhu narrowed his eyes on Courtney. He liked her. He really did, but she was splitting hairs and being daft in the process. No shit he had no plans of trying to claim any sort of boon from Dora Delavernge. Only a retard would try something that audacious.

He stalked towards her and growled once he was close enough for her to hear, "You really think Primogen Catrina Armstrong would put me to work on her behalf tonight without any prior approvals to make official my appointment as her Whip? Further, at no point has any successful Prince in the history of the Camarilla required their approval for a Primogen's Whip. His Majesty Juan has quite a bit more to worry about than me."

Once he was close enough so that only she could hear he said, "I am not trying to split hairs with you girl. I want Inferno to understand it is better to cooperate with me than fight me. Back me up and you have my debt." Owing the Keeper was not a serious boon, considering where Madhu intended to go.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

The Keeper of Elysium stood her ground.  This wasn't the first time she had to deal with angry stalking Brujah.  She wouldn't have been made a Keeper of Elysium if she had been easy to run over.  "Madhu.  Calm down.  Now. She was quiet but firm.  "Right now you are being just as rude and uncouth as you claim he is, and unlike him, you are released and on your own.  What do you think the harpies will say about your performance?  Sure, the unreleased childe made an inappropriate blunder or two, but now is the time for you to stop.  You are ahead, and clearly you know what you are doing."  She blinked.  Once.  "He does not.  You will be seen as the kid who picks on the retard at school.  Some will think it's funny.  The mature will come to chastise you."

She waited just long enough for that to sink in.  "Now I know his majesty is already on scene.  He arrived almost an hour before the first of you showed up." She pointed to one of the closed side doors.  "He is catching up on what needs to be known about each of you.  I don't think disturbing him right now is very prudent.  Do you?"  She smiled.

When Madhu got close enough to violate Courtney's personal space, she put a hand on his chest.  Her response was low enough.  "Besides.  I am still trying to figure out how to collect from Dora.  Neither of us can do it alone, and any debt he gets stuck with on his own will wash away."

As soon as Courtney's hand touched his chest Madhu relaxed. He felt the Beast that had been welling inside of him lie down and rest. Physical contact was so unusual like that. It had been that way with Catrina. He couldn't imagine the Beast raging right now.

He blinked at Courtney and nodded. Madhu grit his teeth and reached out, not just physically, but emotionally, in a way only that another Brujah could understand, and put his hand on Courtney's hip. Not a show of weakness. Instead it was a "Stop me from tearing this whelp to pieces."

Then, after a moment, after he pulled her close, he replied, "How do we respond?"

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Alexander heard Courtney out with as much a straight a face as he could, he indeed did not know just how much of the preparation had been owed to her and how much to the Prince, and so it had seemed preferable to err on the safe side and thank her for something she might not have done, than being seeming ungrateful. After all, the woman was there, and as she had just left plainly clear was way beyond our status, thus, not the most profitable time for her in all likeness.

At any rate, his worries were cut short by the shouts of Madhu, as soon as that started, he took a step to the side, turning a bit not to leave someone clearly angry and dangerous on his back.

He really did not understand much about the boons that they talked about, but he figured he would do well to keep the words to memory and relate them to his Sire at a later time, maybe he would make head from tails on who owed who and what had really been at stake here.

As Madhu approached Courtney though, he felt a bit in the way and moved backwards a bit more, regaining his tray and drink to have something to do, but still remain at a prudent distance and not look like he took the opportunity to run away.

This Madhu was clearly trouble, he hadn't even picked up why he had got so angry, as the lyrics seemed to go against the Assamite rather than him, one could even argue those lyrics were close to breaking masquerade but, they were cleverly disguised enough to be on the fringe. So, what had really gone on? did the Brujah have... or wanted to have anything to do with the Assamite ? ... also to note, was the fact that the gorgeous Union Worker, had not even blinked to threat the Toreador with physical punishment... .

Yuki smiled at the Nos "If I'll have some I'll be sure to ask you dear Alexander, though your appearance is hideous your kindness is quite the opposite" Just as Yuki took another sip from her drink, taking a cearfull look at the other kindred. Wondering as to what the Nosferatu had mentioned. who would belong to who .. and what made one different about the other. Appearances seemed to be an illusion. That much she thought she understood sofar

Thinking it was a wise choice for the moment to stay close to the Nos Alexander, keeping an eye out to him. See how the man would handle what situations came and went there was a loud noice, some .. arguement. Threads were being made. Had she had a heart she would have felt it thunder loudly in her ears.

"Yuki, a word please" Natalya had watched unfolding events like the harpy she used to be. Noting the successes and failures of the personalities involved. Though, in fariness, all of those involved were kindred, and therefor the abundance of alpha personalities, seemed to indicate there were bound to be clashes.

She walked away to give herself and Yuki some privacy, speaking quietly so as not to be overheard, except by rude people trying to overhear. "Yuki, I fear that your education has been somewhat lacking. In the current state of affairs you reflect poorly on Dragon as a prince of this city. I believe I should mention this to you, I am not sure if it's been mentioned before, but our society runs on obligations and favours. By asking so many questions... you're running up a form of debt. If the debt gets large enough, Dragon may have to supply some favours to resolve your debt." Natalya sipped at the blood, smirking at Yuki "There is always an accounting. You might wish to consider asking me or Dragon instead. The debt will still be there, but we have... an interest in seeing you do well." she waited to see if Yuki had any more questions before rejoining the party.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

"Still working on it..." The Keeper of Elysium murmured both quickly and quietly.  She looked away from Madhu towards Alexander, and then waited to see if he would linger and eavesdrop.

When it was evident he wanted to talk, she quickly finished with Madhu.  "I'll queue you in.  Trust me."  Courtney made physical contact by brushing Madhu's arm, stopping when she grabbed his forearm.

She glanced between Alexander and Marissa.  "Alex." Once she had your attention completely, she pointed to the table.  She had already set her tray down.  She smiled politely.  "What do you suppose is in that briefcase that Marissa is carrying?"

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Alexander had clearly not been eavesdropping, he had maintained a prudential distance, and he had in fact not heard a word exchanged between the two Brujah, he had finished however the Royal Flush, and from there moved on to the Kuei-Jin thing whatever that was, but taken it very slowly from that point.

He smiled at Courtney noticing the use of his diminutive, Alex, and approached her and Madhu as she addressed him nodding at them both when he got within a couple of paces "I was just not sure whether you needed anything else from me, so I moved to a.. hmm prudential distance... but still readily available" he said before he was asked about Marissa. Including Madhu in the meaning with a quick glance, he added "Still, it was not my intention to impose myself, so if there is nothing else, maybe its better that I leave you and continue to try making the most of tonight's company".

When it was clear that there was something that Courtney wanted to comment on, he followed her indications, and left his tray and drink on the table. He pondered for a little while, without turning or looking at Marissa, rubbing his chin as he considered the question from different angles. Madhu was there, and it was not clear if this had to do with something they had both talked before, calling him in to see if there was any more information to be had, or if it was just designed to learn something about him, just by the reasoning or guesses he might be capable of giving.

His voice was really calm and methodical "She was not carrying any briefcase until just a minute ago..." he said quite sure that that was the case and looking at them both to judge their reactions. 'Was this what they were expecting? he definetely had looked Marissa, and was positive about this fact. However it could be that she had arrived with one, and left it somewhere before his arrival.'.

Quite unclear as to the reasons behind that question he decided to go for the blunt approach and be absolutely clear about his answer "<Gray>Now, I am normally not asked about opinions on any matter but rather about information. On this regard, I should better clarify then, that at this moment there are no facts that I can give you.
".

He paused a bit before moving on, now that it was clear that whatever he said next was just his personal opinion and nothing more "I doubt that one as capable as Marissa, would bring any documents unrelated to the focus of this meeting of her own accord. Now, I do not know enough nor am I arrogant and foolish in such extremes as to even try to venture upon the objectives that our Prince might have set for this meeting. But I guess that if she were to bring information of interest to him, regarding Germaine... " he made a pause there "I wonder what may have made them both be at each others throats so...".

He made a long pause there letting them both chime in "At any rate, if it was rather a charming suggestion that I would go and find out, I'll take my leave and see if I can find out". He waited for his leave though, in case they had really wanted to know of his opinion... doubtful as it may be.

EDITED, to reflect Madhu in the conversation

After spending a considerable amount of time studying the room and the guests, Marissa decided it was time to make her thanks to the Keeper for such an elegant night. With head held high, she made her way over to Courtney. "Courtney... such a wonderful party our host has put together. And you have done an absolutely amazing job in keeping all the details to perfection." She paused as she took a very very small sip from her glass.

Yuki thinking of what she could possible ask the Nosferatu infront of her turned her head as Natalya spoke her name. "Excuse me dear Alexander" Giving the rubberskinned kindred a sweet nod before leaving him to do what he was going to be doing.

Once Natalya had finished Yuki involuntarily blinked her eyes like she would have had she been 'alive' a thing she had actually not noticed she had not been doing all along. "Ow, .. I had no idea. Such a strange behaviour I must say. Still I guess its not all to odd actually. one service requires anothers servitude. Probably taken into extremes after they.." Yuki paused "..we live so long. But well, now that you mention it. I do have a few questions"

Natalya nodded "It is precisely because everyone lives for so long that such an accounting is made. The harpies tend to judge whether the balances are fair when it comes to repayment." Natalya looked at a wall clock. "This should be interesting, Yuki, our sire has always had a flair and touch for the surprising, yet he's also traditional in some respects. He'll make an appearance on the stroke of midnight...and he never has a soiree like this without some kind of surprise hidden away....so ask your questions while we mingle and get to know each other better."

Yuki wasn't sure what to make of the title 'Harpy', but she had known of what it was supposed to represend in the world one of her former friends wandered around in. RPGs, Harpies .. nasty creatures that charmed you. But surely they didnt look so human did they ? Wich made her question a few other things aswell. ["I wonder.."]

"Well.." Yuki tapped her chin thinking but for a few seconds before she started to ask her questions "Can we fly .. like bats, Do we need to ask approval to enter someonce home. Or do we not cast a reflection in the mirror. Though I saw mine in the elevator so I guess that wouldn't really be a question. And .. Can we walk on hallowed grounds. Will we really like vaporize into ashes if we touch the sunlight to long. How do we know what mortals we can approach for use of our own goals in this life."

Then there were some more 'serious' questions regarding what she was to be expected in her first millenia.

Madhu listened briefly. The more Alexander the Not So Great talked though the less Madhu could remain interested in anything the Nosferatu was saying. He started out by gracefully deflecting the question, which was the smart thing. Then he kept talking... or rather, Madhu thought, taking a shit with his mouth. It was all the Whip could do to not slap him.

Madhu continued to listen, but had an honest mental debate about banging his head on the wall. Finally, he couldn't take it...

Alexander turned his attention back to Madhu, the man was clearly was on his throat, and not much a sticker to his own word for he had been listening to what he had said... though not so closely for he had made it crystal clear that it was but speculation...

At any rate it was not worth it to continue working on this man's anger issues and already patent dislike that he had taken for his persona. The seed had been planted, and it was time to play dumb and meek and just see if conversation would develop to matters of his interest or not...

The pause had been long now, he realized, he shifted his meager weight to the other leg, and spoke with softly without any edge on his voice "I am indeed speculating. I thought I had said it, although come think of it, maybe I didn't voice it". He made a short pause there as if considering "You are right, it probably does make an ass of myself, I should just keep my mouth shut... normally I would have, but Miss Courtney, asked what I 'thought' about it, and I was bold enough to actually go ahead and give one, on matters where you are both much better informed".

Natalya closed her eyes. "Exactly how long ago were you embraced. You're remarkably uninformed. We cannot as a rule, transform into bats and fly, there are some who can, but it takes time and practice and the practice belongs to another clan, who are unlikely to teach its secrets to you. Again, in general we have reflections though there are some rare individuals who do not. Fire and sunlight are however all of our worst enemies and if you're ever exposed to sunlight, you'll die in the matter of a few seconds. Fire generates an instinctual fear in you that will cause you to run. This fire is a problem for any of us to overcome......" Natalya paused looking at Yuki carefully "In your current state of knowledge it's exceptionally dangerous for you to be in public. You may cross normal peoples thresholds, some can't, but it's a psychological limitation, not a supernatural one...however, our society has some very strict rules governing entering territory and what you must do if you cross someones. These rules also govern who you may or may not take sustenance from. If you're feeling thirsty, take some nourishment from the vitae dragon has provided."
Natalya placed her glass on a nearby counter, reaching for Yuki's hands, wondering what on Earth Dragon was thinking by inviting her here. She was young and naive, and would be relatively easy to manipulate to suit someone else's goals. "Yuki, this is really important. For the rest of this evening, do not agree to do anything with anyone without talking to me first...unless it's Dragon asking. You can dig yourself into a large hole just by saying one word. Yes. Let's try to keep you from doing anything that might cause you to need to be killed."

Madhu shook his head, "No, friend, you stopped speculating and started talking nonsense as soon as you brought up the name of an elder who has nothing to do with anything tonight, and worse, you did it in a way that implies you know something. So, I return to my question." Madhu looked at Alexander gravely, "Do you know something or are you still making a fool of yourself?"

The Brujah crossed his arms after taking another sip of his drink. "I'm actually trying to help you. You're name dropping a powerful elder, off the top of your head. That is quite specific, and quite foolish without any evidence. I'm going to guess you have information we do not, and I would like to hear it."

As Natalya answered all those questions she had thought of she suddenly felt rather silly. And .. was that a blush on her face ? Or was it just a sensation that she had felt because she still knew quite well how it felt.

"Well, Only just a few days ago actually." Yuki looked around nervously though afterwards she nodded and smiled "Well, I suppose that is a good idea." ["For the moment anyways. I suppose Im going to have to do some more research on what it means to be a vampire then"]

As Natalya finished her conversation, apparently. Yuki felt a shock. ["Killed ? why now .. that would be ?"] in her mind she was silent for a moment ["quite shocking"]

Alexander looked at Madhu for a long time, 'Does he really want to get information without offering anything in exchange and even make it look like a favour to me?'.

He smiled briefly at that, and then replied softly "I am not sure I understand you, I have made it clear... twice... so even if you return to your question yet again, I doubt it will change anything other than you trying to publicly prove a point over me".

"When one does make a fool of himself, its very rare that those pointing his fingers to him for all to see are actually doing any real helping. Be that as it may, I had thought the Elysium to be a place to communicate and share thoughts in peace... if not harmony. Mentioning an elder without accusing anyone of anything I think hardly falls into the disgrace category you imply".

He paused again a bit looking at Courtney "Ms Courtney has asked for my thoughts on the matter, and I may have been too bold, too arrogant or too stupid to try to give her precisely what I thought she was asking for... you have my apologies in advance Lady Keeper if I have failed your expectations in any way" he said addressing her, and then to Madhu "As for you, I am sorry that we must go on with this senseless bickering that, at the end, I think is probably anything but practical for you, or for me. I understand I may have wronged you more gravely than I believe I have. I will consult it with my Sire to understand the extend of the affront that you claim, and come back to you with a proposal to satisfy you if it is needed.".

From the smile and gesture it's clear that he doesn't mean at this exact point in Elysium, that much is pretty clear. Instead the question seems more like an innocent probe onto the events leading up to her presence in vampiric Elysium.

Abigail had been paying attention to all that transpired around them, even doing her best to hear conversations, otherwise meant to be private, without seeming obvious, DJ inferno was a usefull instrument in this, but like any tool, he had his time and place, and was quickly outliving his.
"What?, ah, sorry i was listening to the music."
the fact he had taken so long in speaking hadn't gone unnoticed, perhaps the lack of his mask on hsi face left him less confident?, maybe he was one of these new people that had appeared since the internet became widely accessible, trying to mask their spite with anonymity.
"The prince's invitation of course, Ricky"
she said it like that was the only reasonable answer to hsi question, despite him having asked for something else entirely.

Madhu and courtney were dangerous, though for the msot part, Madhu was so crude about the way he tried to make everyone indebted to him it almost made her laugh.
Courtney was a different size, she didn't ask for anything, just seemed readily available, pretending to be everyones best friend.
Abigail wouldn't be the one to inform the young tremere she was so safely entrapping, that regardless of who and what they were, NO kindred was your friend, everyone who took an interest, saw something they wanted from you, those who left you alone, probably wanted something too.

Piranhas, that's what their society were, piranhas who, at the smell of even one drop of blood would swallow you up whole, and leave nothing to be found.

He flashes a perfect smile, one that would surely make any groupie scream at the top of their lungs.

"I thought we were being civil, friendly? Gimme an olive branch here..."

He glances over his shoulder at Madhu and Alexander's little tiff.

Ours is no different. Our rules have stricter expectations and the punishment is often rather brutal. There can be outright violence, but we celebrate those who can outmaneuver their opponents. I like to think of our rule as being, 'do as thou wilt, so long as you're not caught.' We praise those that are flexible and can think on their feet. You'll come to know it."

Natalya leaned closer to whisper as she sipped from her glass. "And as a free piece of advice. Trust no-one. Not even me. You have no friends, Yuki, not now and not ever again."

Madhu shook his head as Alexander started talking about consulting with his sire and things. "Don't worry about it. Seriously. It's fine. My mistake." Madhu raised his eyebrows to emphasize the last two words. Unless someone were watching the scene very carefully it would look and sound as if Madhu were being very gracious. To Alexander it was clear, this would be dealt with later. "What you did was grave, but I, perhaps, let my temper get the better of me."

The Indian Brujah decided this train wreck would be better handled later, outside of Elysium. This whole thing was growing tiresome and starting to impede his efforts. Madhu let it go and went to refill his drink as soon as that was finished he sat down and watched. It was now a matter of waiting to see what the Prince wanted. He was irritated and ready for the night to be over.

DJ couldn't help himself. He was on thin ice already, he'd offered out an olive branch to make a second try but the lines Abigail was spouting...DJ couldn't stop himself.

He started shaking his head back and forth.

"So what, you're going to suck down every line the elders feed you? You get bit and suddenly you're someone else? How old are you, really? I can see someone being changed who's been doing this for hundreds and hundreds of years but you? Don't be a poser, acting like the last...say...20 years don't mean squat compared to what...the last year? Maybe two?

Heck even the elders aren't changed, seems to me more like they stay the same while the rest of the world moves on. They become entrenched, you know? They see change and fortify against it, running the opposite way. Don't spout out some elder fed line about how what came before doesn't matter. We are what we always were. Tweaked maybe, but players still play, singers still sing, dancers still dance and all that jazz. We are defined by our past, every single year."

It's clear from his reaction that DJ wasn't quite listening to Abigail, latching onto one tangent and riding it off course for his own agenda but he was also clearly frustrated at being denied and may have opted for dramatics as an exit strategy.

Natalya continued her conversation with Yuki as DJ inferno walked over to them. "No friends. Just those whose interest aligns with your own Yuki. Every relationship is complex, and the people you may have strong relationships with, could turn on you overnight. You need to be able to read the complex and shifting nature to do well. Pick people to go on your side who are strong and unlikely to be outplayed. Dragon is a good choice. You'll still have fun, Yuki, and share it with people, but love and friendship are close to weaknesses for us."

Natalya laughed. It wasn't a kind laugh. "I might suggest it's the most hilarious of nights. I personally was witness to multiple neophytes treading on dangerous ground that had they continued for moments longer might have erupted in violence. You must be newly embraced, and once again I am surprised that a Sire let someone who does not know the rules out in public.  Well, perhaps not in your particular case, Mr. Inferno. A rather passe nom de guerre, if you don't mind me saying so. How did you come up with it?" Natalya leaned closer, speaking with DJ Inferno loudly enough to be overheard "You might need to readjust your expectations if you believe our life is like Twilight. We do not glow in the daylight...well, actually that part is a lie, we do, but only very briefly. Once you've adjusted, you'll have a hard time seeing a love sick, dense little girl as anything other than food. I actually thought Twilight was a rather clever ploy to maintain the masquerade and put out misinformation about our kind. Makes feeding much easier."

The saving grace for tonight is that almost all of the new arrivals have made intense social faux pas, so any one individual is not going to suffer as much as they might have, if they were the only ones to do so." She turned her head to one side carefully looking Inferno up and down "Half the game tonight is trying to see why people were chosen for the embrace. You, I am curious about. Natalya smiled. "I'm sure it was for a valid reason and many others would have brought you to our life. In this case, it's not you being chosen I'm really wondering about, it's your sire choosing you." she glanced over at the other party goers. "This is a formal meet and greet, the Prince needs to see you. This particular meeting was never about partying and having a good time. There will be other occasions for that, where no doubt you will be asked to perform. As for musical tastes..... for some here, Beethoven is modern music."

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

To put some order and sense into the variety of conversations going on around her, Courtney paused and looked away from Madhu as Alexander approached.  From there the conversation went to Marissa and what could be in that briefcase she carried.  The tension between Madhu and Alexander seemed to rise again, but Marissa did an excellent job of breaking that up before even Courtney could do it herself just by approaching the trio and forcing a space between them.

"Miss Lee.  Please, it's just Courtney, or Miss Hart.  There's no need to formalize my name unless you include surname." She glanced at Alexander, wondering if he took that hint.  "Thank you for coming, and being in fashion too." The Keeper then glanced between Madhu and Alexander, and then back.  "We were just discussing what you might have cleverly concealed in that briefcase.  The resident Nosferatu here seems to be of the opinion that perhaps it has something to do with his grace and the alleged feud between him and Miss Marshall.  Madhu and myself disagree, for all the obvious reasons." She paused.  "I was of the opinion that a good Nosferatu isn't going to speculate without knowing.  Madhu just called his bluff entirely.  We all were of the mentality that the best way to find out would be just to ask you."

Back on the other side of the room, the conversation between Abigail and Inferno was having it's own flaws.  Inferno was, in spite of the fact he was good looking, striking out with all of the ladies.  The only one who seemed to have any mind for him at all was Natalya, who so far, had revealed herself to be a full head and shoulders above the other kindred in this room.  That made sense though.  She was the favored childe of the prince.

And right about that time...

Marissa smiled a pleasant smile to Courtney and gave the courteous nod. “My apologies Courtney.”  She glanced down at the briefcase in her hand when the mentioning of it came up, almost as if she had forgotten about it. She knew better than to lie, as she was sure there were a few around that could tell when the bullshit was getting deep. “Well I certainly appreciate the directness. Speculating does nothing short of getting one in a world of trouble and burdens. But since you are asking, I’m afraid to disappoint, there’s nothing of great importance really. Just some papers that I acquired recently to benefit me in my future endeavors.” She gave another smile.

Abigail stood by the drinks servers for a bit, while trying to decide what to try this time around, in the end, she decided to stick with the Mage blood, it gave her a peculiar sense of the world, one she wanted to explore a bit further, though, she asked for only half a glass, before thanking the servant, and moving on.

The shock of what the Blood had initially caused had worn off and she'd started getting used to the 'sparkling' people...
she mgiht have laughed at the twillight remark, in this context, but inferno was involved and she was still deciding whether to hate or pity the kid.

she stopped for a few moments looking around the room, thoughtfully digesting the evening so far, she'd gained some information, more than she'd expected would be gained so easily, now came the hard work.
what would Ignetz do, what would he look for?
it wasn't the first time she wished, she understood the way her sire's mind worked, those moments were plentifull.

Finally she began moving across the floor, sauntering over to Miss Hart, Alexander, Marissa and Madhu.
"Ah yes, the mysterious briefcase" she said it like she had a hard time holding back mirth at everyones sudden interest in the object, what did it matter what it contained?
She curtsied to Marissa.
"miss Lee, I am Abigail, a pleasure to make your aquintance.
I had wondered, considering the extensive interest in your property, how you would appear.
For some reason certain people and their speculations about the contents of your briefcase left me wodnering if you had wings to go with the horns, and whether you would appear with a puff of smoke, a vague smell of brimstone accompanying you."

She chuckled slightly at that.
"I am happy to see none of it is true, that you are truly a kindred much akin to the rest of us"
she extended her hand, the one corrosponding to Marissas vacant one.

Marissa chuckled at the demonic/angelic picture created by Abigails description. To show no offense was taken she turned to look behind her for a second, “There’s no tail either.” She chuckled again. “I have to say however, that if carrying a briefcase causes this much speculation I might have to begin carrying them more often.” She took the hand offered and shook gently but firmly. “A pleasure to meet you Abigail, and please call me Marissa. I’ve no title that demands such formality.” Her tone was sincere and true. "And I was just explaining, there really isn’t anything of importance with my briefcase. Just some contents to help me in future endeavors.” She gave a warm smile.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Alexander nodded at Madhu, and was about to reply to him when Courtney started talking.

Alexander smiled politely... just smiled. There was little else for him to do, he could try burying his face in the cup but he was sure that would be far from making things easier, and so, he tried to be practical about it. A smile, was by far the safest thing to do, trying to explain that in other countries the equivalent use of Mr and Ms, was not done in the same way as in the US, was probably vane, the bitch knew already, and well, he would not make the mistake again.

She had used him as the centre of attention to get the information she wanted from Marissa, as if he gave a shit for it, and used what he had hoped would be a change of conversation to make him look like shit with Marissa... well, there was not much he could do about it... so he just smiled.

At any rate, Marissa's answer was centred on Courtney, and now on the Assamite, who... Oh surprise! after a night of stoic solitude was indulging in what looked like a most idiotic conversation with Marissa.

He shifted his weight to the other leg... 'just smile, and hope shit does not start raining down on me again'.

OOC: Per + Alert 2 successes

Madhu: I am not completely clear on how your post fits into this now, so I guessed it was just before Courtney started talking. As it does not all seem to fit in the way people has moved, I have just left it with a nod, for a conversation does not seem to fit in there anymore.

"Trading stories sounds fabulous but I'm afraid my stories would pale in comparisson to yours. Europe by itself has such a vast history, both good and bad, and some that are just creepy. Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

As the elevator moved up towards the eleventh floor, Gabriel LaFortune knew he was cutting it close. The Prince wanted all those being presented tonight to arrive much earlier than Gabe was arriving and he did not want to garner any resentment from the Tremere who held Praxis in Charlotte.  Being that many members of that clan bore special enmity for those of his own clan, and vise versa, he wanted to avoid any unnecessary trouble.

As the doors to the elevator slid open to reveal the interior of the Elysium, Gabe took a quick reconnoiter of his surroundings – as his security training had ingrained into his psyche. The layout was open and left few places for possible assailants to hide. However he did take note of the large number of exits in the room and decided to keep  a watch on the comings and goings of those who used them.  No one was obviously armed, though he doubted anyone would be foolish to break one of their Camerilla’s precious laws prohibiting weapons or violence at such gatherings. However he knew this was no guarantee of safety so Gabe stepped off the elevator keeping a cautious eye on all those attending tonight’s event.

As Gabriel LaFortune entered the large suit people turned to see who the late comer was. Standing an average height of around six feet with a slim, yet obviously well-built body barely concealed under his finely tailored black suit and polished wing-tipped shoes. Clean shaven with short cropped hair, he strolled into the room with the grace of a hunting cat and the alertness of someone who was used to expecting danger or violence to erupt at any moment.

Quickly noting the golden trays in the guests hands he gave a knowing smile to those gathered watching him to see what he would do and made his way casually to the bar to pick up his own tray and make a selection of a beverage.

The heady aroma of so much fresh blood, some of which were plainly very potent vitae, flooded Gabe’s nostrils making him almost dizzy with delight. His Sire had warned him of this many times during his training, he was weary to touch those vintages marked to have supernatural origins. Instead he took a wine glass full of something called ‘The Prince’s Private Stock’.

He turned to look for the one Cainite Ignetz had told him to seek out for proper etiquette and presentation, he was looking for the Keeper of Elysium Courtney Heart. He found her at once, with her distinctive look she was easy to pick her out of the crowd. Her attire and choice of facial piercings brought back fond memories of his days riding with the bikers… before he brought them down from the inside.

Putting such memories from his mind he moved towards the Keeper  with a warm smile and when reached when she was standing politely bowed his head to her, but patiently awaited her to address him when she was ready. Until the Prince arrived, she was the most important person in the room.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

"No." The Keeper of Elysium said.  Her eyes lit up and her nostrils flared.  "It's not an outage or something wrong with the system." She smiled slightly, as if she was waiting on something.  It was about four seconds later, then a jazzy, poppy, piano, drum, and saxophone combo kicked in.  Only a few seconds later came the lyrics.

Just take those old records off the shelf
I'll sit and listen to 'em by m'self
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock and roll

OOC:  I can't resist, especially because the song has five stars on my playlist.  Sorry DJ...

It started with the Toreador, because sooner or later, every Toreador has the problem.  It started with DJ tapping his foot.  Then a slight head bob as his ears tingled, picking up the hidden guitar twang in the song.  Yuki was still mortal enough too that her senses plucked the notes out of the air as well.  Though in her case it was more of an interest in the piano and saxophone instead of a curse by Caine...

Don't try to take me to a Disco
You'll never even get me out on the floor
In 10 minutes I'll be late for the door
I like that old time rock and roll

Still like that old time rock and roll
The kinda music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock and roll

By this time, DJ Inferno had lost himself into the music, having specifically picked out the drums, and moved to the music.  He was, after all previous performances, surprisingly good.  Very good.  Noteworthy even.  And Yuki moved too.  And so did Courtney, at least a little, just wiggling her butt.

Won't go to hear 'em play a Tango
I'd rather hear some blues or funky old soul
There's only one sure way to get me to go
Start playin' old time rock and roll

Call me a relic call me what'cha will
Say I'm old fashioned say I'm over the hill
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock and roll

Then the jazzy saxophone took over in a solo, the happy drinks kicked in, and everyone's spirit raised just enough.  Somewhere along the way, the lights had dimmed.  It had happened so slowly that nobody had noticed it until the room was more dark then bright though.

Prince Lorenzo came sliding out one of the side entrances next.  He came out in a new custom Armani suit.  He was dressed slick, and by busting a few minor moves of his own, Dragon made it cool to dance.  That was his intention anyway.  He succeeded in looking cool, that was about it.

Juan Lorenzo rolled 1 success using 9d10 with the World of Darkness 3rd ed system with a target of 6 with rolls of 8,7,5,3,4,1,2,1,6. Cha + Style = Good Mood Room.

But then he fell into the music too!  The prince joined the crowd, having shimmied on over.  He slinked around behind Natalya, looked at her, smiled, nodded, and then went to the ghouls, getting a drink.  He went for his private sock to start with.  After an entire drink and sip, the song finally ended, and the prince now had everyone's attention.

"Hello.  Are we enjoying ourselves tonight?"

Juan Lorenzo rolled 7 successes using 9d10 with the World of Darkness 3rd ed system with a target of 8 with rolls of 10,9,6,9,9,3,9,9,8. Cha + Style = Good Mood Room. !!!  WTF?  On a roll that doesn't matter...

Truth was, yeah, things were going pretty damned good tonight.  Even DJ seemed to figure out how to dig himself out of part of the grave he had dug earlier.  Courtney was quick to step forwards before anyone could really talk.  "Ladies and gentlemen, Prince Lorenzo."

Having at least attempted to recover, Courtney slinked back closer to Madhu...

Natalya smirked as Dragon took his place at the center of everything. Always one for the grand gestures. She smiled kissing him on the cheek as he drifted by. "Be gentle with them...they're all blundering around offending everyone." She didn't feel it necessary to explain any further. Dragon would know who she was talking about, and find the same level of amusement in it.

As Dragon asked the question, Natalya waited to see how the others would answer. For her thus far, it had been an interesting evening. A delightful conversation, and so many awkward blunders, by the new ones. They all had potential, but she had to wonder at some of the choices made.

DJ was lost in the music, even after it ends his head continues to nod to the beat. A Toreador does what a Toreador does...

When the Prince asks his question though he has enough to snap out of his trance long enough to shrug and nod his head. This wasn't his scene and he was unsure if he would ever really fit in, especially as everything that he felt made him him was rejected left and right that very night.

Then again his sire had promised him a new life like none other and the Prince was both his host and his gateway into this new realm and while his beef with authority would keep him from kissing ass he was at least respectful enough to show appreciation for the tasty treats.

That said, she kept her movements restrained, more due to her elegant dress than most other things.

when he paused to speak to the room, she nodded, then curtsied respectfully, afterall he was without a doubt one of the most powerfull kindred in the city, there was no reason to infuriate him due to any voersight on her part.

Alex was just about to answer Marissa when Gabriel made his entrance, his mouth seemed to work on its own without producing a sound, trying to gather his wits about the guy. The man advanced and helped himself to some drinks without having even said a word.

He was making his way back into the thread of the conversation that had just been broken when the music changed completely... that had all the looks of being staged, but knowing it was not salvation and so, without really wanting, his foot started tapping the floor without him even noticing. The Prince's entrance was quite something... not Princely... at least not how he would have pictured it in his wildest dreams, but one had to recognize the guy had class... a style not easily copied too, and a charm that was hard to beat. It was clear why his Sire had not wanted to tell him much about him, "You'll see..." was that what he had said ?...

He moved in to dance, for a minute, he was not a nosferatu, but the rich play boy of his youth, and so when the Prince asked if they were enjoying he just nodded... the spirits he had drank, surely helped.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

OOC: Was going to see if Marissa/Madhu/Gabe/Yuki was going to add a post here, but seeing as how they haven't, I'm continuing onward.

The prince greeted Natalya warmly, kissing her first, and letting a hand linger on the small of her back.  "Always." He said to her, a trademark smirk on the corner of his lips.  Anyone witnessing the two could see the prince doted on her.

Then he turned towards the Keeper of Elysium.  "Courtney, all is well.  You can relax.  But please, kill my music.  Or at least turn it down to a manageable level so I can speak without it being heard in the background."  The Keeper of Elysium, immediately, and politely, dismissed herself to the other room where she did as instructed.  The music, now just more classic rock, was turned down to a level where it was little more then background fluff.

The prince took a drink from his own chalice of sorts, and then set it to the side on the table.  He reached into a coat pocket and withdrew a cigar.  He snapped his fingers, producing a small flame at the tip of his index finger.  He used it to light the cigar, took a long puff, exhaled a line of smoke, and shook his hand as though it were a match he was putting out.  "Madhu Ahkilesh."  The prince said the name loud enough to make a point.  "Front and center."

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Madhu looked confused for all of two seconds, put his cup down and rose. As he walked he smoothed his clothes out and approached the Prince. The Prince didn't cut a particularly intimidating figure, the opposite in fact, Madhu thought.

Where John had been imposing with this quiet energy coming off of him Juan felt... friendly. Accessible. Of course, Madhu knew this was all an act and had everything to do with the Prince's force of personality and how he wanted to be perceived tonight. The Brujah had heard the stories. They used to call Prince Juan, Dragon, some old nickname from long ago, before Madhu was embraced. Here though, it became something to fear... Dragon, The Giant Slayer...

Madhu blinked the thoughts out of his head and stopped a respectful distance from the Prince. Madhu was no giant, yet, and the Prince had called them all here for a reason. The Brujah suspected that, with the possible exception of Natalya, that he was the eldest of those assembled. He had nothing to fear here. So his steps were even, measured, confident.

"Your Majesty?" Madhu stopped and made a deferential movement with his head, acknowledging the Prince's vast status. Long gone were the days were someone would be expected to bow and scrape, but a little theatrics to stroke someone's ego never hurt, especially when it was designed to show respect.

The prince exhale another long line of smoke from his vanilla flavored cigar.  He watched Madhu approach.  "Madhu.  It goes without saying that you are a ghoul procurement specialist.  Did you realize that nearly a decade ago, it was your services that brought Yuki here to my attention?" He smirked and waved a hand to indicate his youngest childe.  It wasn't much of a surprise the Brujah would have little if any recollection of such a transaction.  Most of the time, dealings were done without knowledge of exactly who was getting what - especially in the kindred circles.  Kindred often had vast connections, numerous resources, and a very valid desire to remain anonymous.  "The name I use for such things is Erik Lehnsherr."

OOC: +1 exp for anyone who can PM me the significance of the name Erik Lehnsherr and why the prince would use it.

That name may or may not have rung a bell.  It just depended on how familiar Madhu was with dealings a decade old.  "It has also come to my attention that you've been speaking with the elder Catrina Armstrong, first of the elders to claim this city as home and childe of Joachim the ancient, the oldest known, active, Brujah."  The prince paused.  He looked at his cigar.  He rolled it between his thumb and index finger.  He inhaled again and exhaled another vanilla-ey plume of smoke.  "She has selected you to speak for her in her absence."

The prince reached into an inner coat pocket and withdrew a small box.  "Congratulations.  You are now an acknowledged status holder in this city.  That grants certain benefits that I am quite certain you will capitalize on."  He tossed the small box, barely three inches by three inches by three inches to Madhu.  "Take pride.  I wouldn't allow such a move unless I thought it was appropriate for the entire city."

Alex stood entranced over the transaction, it had been hard not to take a step backwards when the Prince had lit a flame on his finger...

His thoughts erratically jumped from one subject to the next 'that had been weird, the irrational fear that fire now provoked in him, for he had not yet been burned with it... but the guy there, could just make it apear and dissapear with a flick of his fingers... And now, what the fuck did Magneto had to do with it ? and that that old vampire would even know the original name was almost as much of a wonder... reading comics is he? Alex, knew them by heart of course, he had grown up with marvel, he had not liked most DC, except for some series which where his absolute favourite... those writen by Gayman namely, but X-Men had been like the bread and butter of his childhood.  Erik searched for mutants all over the place much like Xavier... but with other meanings in his head, looking for the highest potential, the most powerful, much like it had been done to him by Bernard Shaw... funny the Dragon would feel much more attracted to the villain.'

He saw the object fly towards Madhus hands and waited in expectation to see what it would contain.

Madhu nodded as the Prince spoke, remembering the transaction. He had never actually seen Yuki, but looking at her now he thought she matched the description, assuming he was remembering them properly at all. It hadn't been that long ago, but the contract had been rather innocuous, so Madhu had not paid it much attention himself. Really, the only thing that stuck out about the job was that someone pointed out that the name was very obviously an alias.

"It brings me joy to know you were pleased with the results of my work then, Your Majesty." He smiled at the Prince, that same gracious smile he had given everyone when he arrived.

Madhu caught the box easily enough, palming it with his left hand. Then he fell silent and let the Prince continue, and when Juan had, Madhu replied, "I thank you for your confidence, Your Majesty, I will do my utmost to not disappoint you, nor my elder in this position."

After he spoke he looked down at the box, moved it over in his hands and opened it...

"No problem.  It is me who owes you thanks.  You will add to the stability of this city"  The prince watched, the smirk still on his lips as Madhu opened the box.  "It's nothing, I know, but there's a black Caddy waiting for you in valet parking.  It's a sexy ride, classy, rugged, tough, and loyal.  Like you."

There was a little jingle when the box was shaken.  There were two items inside.  The first, and obvious, was a key.  It was a car key, and it had a valet number on it, indicating that the valet parking had the other key.  The crest on the key holder had the Cadillac symbol emblazoned on it.  The other item was much more valuable.  It was a ring, an expensive one.  It was platinum, with a small, clear emerald set into it.  Engraved into the ring on the inside were the words "To the Ivory Tower we place faith and loyalty."  The words were in the Hindi language.  Looking closer, beneath the emerald, was the symbol of clan Brujah.

This was...

A primogen's ring.

Shit?

Awesome?

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Madhu went wide-eyed. Humbled for a moment. The car was fantastic, at least he believed. He knew Cadillac. They had been highly sought after cars in Mumbai because they were so expensive. If the Prince had given him one, it must have been special. Cars were temporary, even one surely as fine as what he had received.

The ring though. The ring was an altogether different situation. Gems set in metal were permanent. This ring was an immediate mark to those that knew what it was. In the city it identified Madhu as a position holder, someone with power, even with as little as Madhu actually had. It also meant eyes would be on him. Madhu nodded, mostly to himself, and slipped the ring on. "Again, I thank you."

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

The Prince walked into the room and everyone’s attention was immediately upon him. By training Gabriel paid less attention to Juan than he did to the others at the gathering judging their reactions and instinctively looking for threats as he would for any client.  Ignetz had provided him with a dossier of not only the Prince, but of every other important Kindred in the city. It was important after all to know all the players and as much about their habits and motivations as possible to survive the games played by members of the Camerilla.

All were toadying to Juan as expected, Gabriel would naturally have to play along. He smiled at the Prince and gave him the slightest nod as he raised his still full glass of vitae as a form of salute to the man. He was a power to be respected even if he was a member of the clan of Warlocks.

He watch as the mere Neonate Madhu (a Brujah of some little renown whose skills for acquiring proficient Ghouls may be of some interest) was elevated to the status of Primogen, which according to his Sire was somewhat unusual for the Camerilla as their Elders maintained an iron clad grip on their control of the newly created (anyone younger than 100 years). Once again, as per the dossier provided by Ignetz, the Prince was young himself and more apt to buck the status quo. Seemingly an unusual trait for a Tremere, but one the Assimite Neonate could appreciate, he didn’t want to be a nobody for ever… Gabriel would earn himself a reputation and status.

Natalya clapped politely smiling at Madhu's ascension. She cast an amused glance at DJ Inferno, her eyes flashing as a reminder and warning that things could change very quickly in this place and it wouldn't do to upset those higher on the social strata.

Moving forward she kissed Madhu on the cheek and congratulated him on his new position, genuinely pleased for him. She wondered what Dragon was playing at. The elders of the city would not be pleased by this announcement, but he did everything according to his own plan. She had her own suspicions as to what the plan might be. The problem with annoying the elders was that in addition to being hidebound and traditional, they had a lot of allies, friends, influence and power. After sharing a few words and pleasantries, Natalya moved back into the crowd, nudging young Jason to greet the new Primogen.

Abigail gave a court nod and smile at the elevation, and approached Madhu, extending a hand to congratulate him.
Now that  he actually held the position, he could of course wield it as well, until he had, it would have been wrong to respond to him as if he ddid, afterall, the camarilla worked on these formalities.
"congratulations with your new position, Mr. ahkilesh"

Whether he took her hand or not, she would curtsy and then move on, making room for others to follow.

Alex moved in after Abigail, he crossed the distance that separated them nimbly, with a smile in his dried up leathery face as he extended his hand towards Madhu "My most sincere congratulations", he said as he inclined his head in respect.

This time, should he take it, the hand shake would be firm, he had been insulting enough before. "I am sure your new position will keep you busy and away from other more mundane matters, but I would very much love to see your new transport medium whenever suits you best". He hoped that this would serve several purposes, to make clear that Madhu would have other responsibilities was one, but showing him that he was not afraid of meeting him alone, and, what was more, willing to, to talk out whatever was left to talk... and of course, letting him show off that new toy, it was one hell of a car if he was not mistaken, and just by commenting he was also praising the Prince's present.... or so he hoped.

Then, turning to address the Prince, Alex bowed deeply "Your Majesty", and waited for a few seconds in case the Prince deemed it right to address him then and there before moving back with the rest.

At first DJ was only partially paying attention, giving the half-hearted automatic applause seen at every award show but as he noticed the bigger deal the others were making of it he put a bit more effort into his applause.

"Congrats, Madhu."

Madhu took everyone's congratulations in turn. Unable to contain his smile. He allowed himself that small happiness, but he didn't forget the reason he was here tonight.

He kissed Natalya on the cheek in return, thanked her in turn and moved on after a polite moment. He took Abigail's hand, quick, gentle shake.

Turning to Alexander he agreed that they should probably talk sometime soon, perhaps after the party tonight, and then moved on...

He inclined his head to DJ, still unsure of the Toreador, and still wanting to keep his distance from him, but he offered a polite thank you and then stepped back away from the crowed, partially to gloat, partially to clear the area around the Prince so they could all move on with other things for the night.

The prince watched with what could guess what a slightly amused smirk on his lips.  His attention drifted as the crowd gave their thanks.  First it drifted to his cigar, which thankfully was burning all even.  Then it difted to Natalya and then finally towards Alexander.  "Mr. Youngblood.  Front and center."

Alexander literally took a step forward towards the Prince and bowed his head again in respect waiting for the Dragon to say whatever he had to, so, taking that step, he just repeated himself as an echo, changing only the two words intonation into a question "Your Majesty ?".

He'd have to thank the Prince for his present, but it seemed a bit rude to do so now, before he even had the opportunity to address the direction that he wanted the conversation to take.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

The prince waited until Alexander approached.  Then he sighed.  Heavily.  Audibly.  "Mr. Youngblood...where should I begin?"  He looked away and inhaled deeply from his cigar.  The vanilla scent was quite powerful.  He waited a second or two longer and exhaled, sending a long line of smoke up and away.

"You are the anti-harpy in this group.  Your sire is Virgil Youngblood, one of the most vulgar, unbecoming kindred in this city.  He is also one of the most powerful in both blood and status.  He is a personal friend of mine and I value his council highly.  It goes without saying that this puts you in a very peculiar position.  The wisest among your peers will realize your internal resistance to mental command and seek to exploit that.  Those who think ahead will try to indebt you, or use you for personal gain.  Those out for the quick rush will just try and diablerize you." Dragon smiled darkly.  It was a wicked, sinister smile directed only at Alexander.  It was also gone in just an instant.

OOC: You can spend a wp point and make a DC9 Courage roll to not get the willies.  Do not botch!

"This of course, says nothing for your clan's dealings in dirty secrets.  Keep up your inquisitive, cautious nature and you'll find more and more doors opening if you can properly pay off the debts for doing so with your own sources of information."

OOC: Benigno, you can have Alexander make a Perception + Empathy roll at difficulty 8.

The prince paused.  He looked at his cigar, rotating it between index finger and thumb.  He glanced over the assembled kindred one more time and continued.  "Having said that, I do not appreciate your inexcusable gossip regarding the nature of my relationship with Ms Germaine Marshall." He put a dismissive hand up.  "You should have just asked me.  It would have saved you a lot of trouble and the verbal smackdown from your seniors.  The nature of our relationship is simple.  I'm the prince.  She's not.  She wanted the job.  I got it.  She didn't.  End of story."

The prince used the ashtray, lightly tapping and twisting the cigar.  "Now as my gift to you." He reached into his pocket and pulled out another small box.  This one was some sort of valuable metal that looked like a cross between gold and silver.  It was polished and had a very clov-y scent to it.  Engraved in the corner were the initials C.K.  "Make sure you give this to Christian when you see him.  Don't mention that you got it from me.  Let him make up his own mind."

The prince paused again.  He inhaled and then exhaled.  "Dismissed.  D.J.  You're up."

Alexander cringed a bit as the Prince looked at him... 'a look that showed the beast... a hungry beast that seemed to hunger for him...' and almost took a step backwards, but somehow managed to at least control that instinctive reaction, if nothing else. Thoughts had to be controlled, and thoughts like those even more so.

Scary as it was, the man was giving out sound advice, at least, he hoped that it was only that, and not really giving out ideas for the rest.

'Cautiousness seemed to be the key word there, he had not been cautious enough that was clear, little to do about it now anyhow.'

His thoughts shifted in and out of what the Prince was saying, trying to keep a critical mind to what he was being said, and by the time the Prince was done, he found himself holding the box and trying to figure out what the fuck it was about, and what he, Alexander, wanted to do with that dangerous toreador...

"Thank you, your Majesty" he said bowing and moving back to the rest, and a long drink of whatever he found closest on the tray.

When Dragon had turn his attention to Alexander, Marissa lifted her glass and gave a warm smile. Hopefully he would catch the subtle attempt to draw his attention to her. It was one thing to acknowledge the Prince's presence, it was a complete different thing to approach him when the invite had not been given, not to mention he seemed to be making his rounds to everyone at the party, Marissa would graciously await her turn.

She watched Alexander and Dragon carefully, spying the small transaction between them. She couldn't help but wonder what the Prince had given him, and hopefully before the night was done she could find out.

After witnessing the verbal lashing that Alexander received DJ nearly choked when the Prince called his name. Since the incident...incidents would be more appropriate... DJ had retreated from the spotlight. A party animal and attention hog but one who had the base wits to realize when and where he was out of his league. He tried to make a splash and flopped, now was the time to stay back and let it all fade from memory.

Being called front and center was the opposite of what DJ wanted. The struggle was clear on his face, and it was becoming more clear to those watching why DJ clung to his mask so much, his face revealed his every thought, his every emotion. Masked he was aloof and mysterious, exposed his mind was an open book.

DJ's flight or fight instinct kicks in but neither option is viable. He can't run, he can't fight it...he just has to hope to survive.

He takes a deep breath and steps forward and bows his head.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

The Prince shook his head and smirked when DJ came forward.  "You are a Toreador.  You wear your thoughts very close to the surface..." The prince eyed DJ with a curious(?) expression.  He was quite difficult to read when he wanted to be.  But then, the guy who held all the cards in the deck usually was.

"You have balls.  A set of big, brass ones.  Don't ever let anyone take them from you.  Especially neonates like these in this room.  You don't answer to them.  Your sire is Dora Delavergne." The prince narrowed his eyes and then leaned back, tapping his cigar in the ashtray once more.  It was about halfway gone now.  "Your proper attire set out for you this evening was done on purpose.  It was educational.  It was not meant as ridicule, and the education wasn't yours, but everyone else's.  You see, here you are, walking up in here looking like a fool, getting smacked around by kindred who had no business - Courtney aside - to do so, and yet with the drop of a dime, you switched it up and are now one of the more impressive members of this room to look at.  You're being congratulated by the prince for having a huge set of balls.  Who looks like the idiot now?"

Dragon paused.  He inhaled and exhaled again from the cigar.  The cherry on the end glowed an impressive orange color.  "You are a catalyst DJ.  You make things happen.  That's something I personally appreciate.  It's a personality trait that reminds me, of, well, me.  My ascension to power isn't as mythological as many elders would have you believe.  It's just that I don't accept the status quo.  The only way to get ahead of your peers in this world of darkness is to do what they are not doing and make a big enough splash that they are forced to notice and acknowledge.  Do you understand?"

The prince cocked his head to the side, set the cigar down, and moved to the other side of the room so that all eyes had to turn to be on him.  He went for a new "chalice" of blood.  This time he went directly for the hard stuff, the Kuei-Jin vitae.  "Which reminds me.  In a few short weeks, Riley Ishikawa will be hosting something of a private, coming out party for Miranda Jane.  I want you to get yourself noticed by Mary Jane.  You want to be the DJ she wants there at that party.  Your secondary purpose for being there will be to blow up Riley's spot.  You don't want to trash her or make her look bad, just less cool.  That in turn, will get back to Germaine, who will be annoyed, but unable to retaliate in any fashion without earning herself the wrath of your sire."  The prince smiled darkly.  It was the same smile he gave Alexander a moment ago.  Just like then, the smile was gone in an instant, the very same instant that gold and ivory cup reached his lips...

"Be careful." The prince corrected.  "I am not turning you lose or setting you up to get thrashed by Riley.  It isn't my place to say, but your sire and Riley have an unpleasant relationship.  You would do well to heed my warning.  Riley, pissed off, is more of a match for any of you save possibly Natalya.  Trying to put her on the 10th page of the news might be a bit too difficult.  But I would be content with third or fourth page of the news."

The prince returned to his previous position and retrieved his cigar.  He held it in one hand and his cup of vitae in the other.  He inhaled and then spewed a plume of smoke up and away.  "Your purpose is not to damage Riley, just keep her from advancing her position by being the perfect host.  This by itself does enough damage."

DJ nods his head and keeps the cool, cocky look in his eye.

"This is a tune I can follow. I didn't get to be where I am on the scene by being a poser, talking trash and dragging everyone else through the mud..."

DJ's eyes flicker towards Abigail before returning his attention to the Prince.

"I'm a household name because I just play the beat better. I'll do my thing and what happens happens."

Gone was neonate. Josh had left the building. This cocky bastard was fully into his celebirty persona. For the safety of everyone else in the room, someone needed to cue the curtains before his ego swelled up enough to suffocate everyone present.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

It would be the prince who cued the curtain on DJ.  With a dismissive wave of his hand, the prince turned his attention towards Gabe and Abigail.  He was silent for a bit while he eyed the two of them.  Finally, he spoke.  "Mr. LaFortune, Miss O'Carroll."

He waited for the two Assamites to step forward.  "I will start by saying this.  I do not like the idea of Assamites working in such close proximity to my childre or myself." He paused, switching attention between the two of them.  "I know exactly who both of you are and what you are capable of.  I also know exactly who your sire is.  I find his petition to join the Camarilla a little unsettling, because if he had wanted to, he could have made that move centuries ago."  Clearly the prince was not convinced of your sire's "good" intentions.  The tone of his voice said more then enough.  The prince looked between the two assassins again.  "Abigail.  At some point in the near future, I am going to summon you for a personal matter.  I fully expect you to arrive promptly."  Then he addressed Gabe.  "You sir, are the senior between both of you.  It is for this reason that I am holding you doubly accountable for any transgressions you or your broodmate may create." Could he do that?  As far as either of you knew (and from an example already presented earlier tonight) without being released from your sire, you were accountable only to him.

Without skipping a beat, the prince continued.  "It would not be the first time Assamites and Tremere worked together.  I am certain it will not be the last.  Your sire, Ignetz, is taking great personal expense to convince the upper echelons of society of his sincerity.  This puts me in a predicament.  On one hand, I must balance the will of the city.  On the other, I must carefully handle an elder Assamite and his wishes.  If I favor the city over him, then I have made yet one more enemy I'd rather not have.  If I favor him over the city then clearly I am not the one to be prince.  If I walk down the middle path and favor both sides, then I set myself up to be a bitch."

Juan paused again.  He leaned forward and peered at both of the Assamites again.  This time there was a harder then usual tone to his words.  "Do I look like a bitch to either of you?"

Madhu watched everything intently, still spinning the ring around on his finger while he paid attention to what the Prince said to the others. He was sitting again, but still plenty close enough to hear everything without being in the way.

After a moment he stood, deciding he wanted to see a bit of what was going on as well over the heads of the gaggle of neonates around the Prince.

When the Prince asked if he looked like a bitch Madhu smirked. The last Prince he had to deal with was not at all one to ask such questions. It seemed age sapped not only the will to take risks, but the sense of humor too. Juan's seemed to be intact. It was refreshing.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Gabriel could sense the agitation from his sister Abigail, he felt a little himself. However, his years of undercover work for the Quebec Provincial Police had trained him to disguise such things in order to survive.  To drop your cover amidst such cutthroats and murderers as the Hell’s Angels was a sure and quick way to end a promising career and find yourself buried in a lonely hole in the middle of nowhere. The same was even truer within the Cainite community.

The Prince was obviously testing the two Assamites in some manner, which Ignetz told Gabe would most likely happen. Juan was a power player and wanted to keep others on the defensive, reeling backwards unable to gain strong footing. The young Assamite had no interest in contesting with the Tremere Prince (he would most certainly lose that fight!), however neither did he want to appear as a ‘bitch’ before the entirety of the Camarilla social structure in attendance tonight.

Listening to Abigail reply to the Prince, Gabe said nothing in response to the final question. Rather, he raised one eyebrow and gave Juan a friendly smile, “My Prince, it is my intention to foster a good working relationship with the Tremere and other clans of this fine city… As to the intentions of my Sire, I would not presume to understand his motivations for seeking membership within the Camarilla at this time. Nor would I question him on such matters, it is no business of mine.” For the first time since being called before the Prince Gabe took his eyes from the face of Juan and turned them momentarily to the floor, this was a show of respect for his Sire and also to show the Prince that Gabe knew his place.

When Gabriel continued speaking it was with a very professional voice and demeanour, “I have been instructed to offer my services to you and the others of this city that I might show myself of value.”

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

When Gabe started speaking, the prince's free hand came up and closed.  "Bzzzt." He actually made the sound, drawing it out and ending it sharply.  "The correct answer is "No sir."  I did not ask for an elaboration, guesswork, or any sort of other response.  In fact, I just criticized the Nosferatu among you for speculating out of turn.  Why on Earth would you think you're special?  No.  Don't answer that.  I'll rephrase." He paused, looking very serious.  "Neither of you are special.  In fact, you both lack such special traits that if it were up to me I'd have sent Nigel to remove you both instead of taking time out of my schedule."

The prince sharply turned his attention to Abigail.  "And you are failing miserably at your designated task for the evening.  You are supposed to be developing a psyche profile on everyone in this room, including myself.  You can't do that without some form of interrogation, which, as a mortal Union Representative, I know you know how to do.  You can't gather appropriate information about your future companions by sitting in that corner over there," he pointed again.  "Like you have been doing.  But seeing as how I am nothing if not fair, I'm going to indebt your sire to the tune of a moderate boon right now for revealing some of that information for you."

The prince glanced at Natalya.  "Natalya Shrevchenko.  Five foot ten, one hundred and thirty five pounds.  Age 26, as a mortal.  No siblings.  Father is deceased.  Mother has quietly been turned to a ghoul, operating as a Regent's assistant in Zaporizhia, Ukraine.  She is the granddaughter of the archmage Gertrude Van Kraus, killed by a German sniper in World War II.  The most interesting thing about this bit of information is that Natalya didn't even know half of it herself." He paused for a second or two.  "She is, for lack of better terms, a spoiled brat." Dragon smirked at his childe.

"Highly intuitive and imaginative, Natalya has capacity for learning, especially Thaumaturgy, that exceeds even me.  She is multi-lingual, speaking Italian, English, French, German, Russian, and Spanish with virtually no discernible accent.  She has a college degree from UCLA, completing a dual major in Journalism and Economics.  This indicates that underneath her callous, conniving, irresponsible, and antagonistic demeanor is a keen sense of determination virtually unheard of in American students these days." As if to poke at her, the prince added one more little bit.  "And perhaps my favorite bit of information about her is that she is bi-sexual with a slight preference for women."

The prince pivoted on his feet and returned his attention to Abigail.  "That is the kind of detailed information your sire is looking for." Then Gabe.  "As for you Mr. LaFortune, your expertise with regards to motorcycle clubs and how they organize themselves may be particularly useful in the upcoming nights.  One of the larger Anarch groups in this city operates as a similar entity.  I don't know the details and it's better for all parties involved that I don't.  What I can tell you though is that the group, Jokers Wild, is run by a Ventrue.  Unfortunately, a capable Ventrue.  That means infiltrating the group and dismantling it will be next to impossible without a concentrated effort.  I would suggest contacting my Sheriff, Philip Eldritch if you want more details."

The prince looked between the two Assamites and then dismissed them by turning his attention towards the room as a whole.  "Marissa, you're next on my list." The prince's lips formed into a slight smirk and he blinked.  Once.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Natalya raised an eyebrow in surprise. Some of the information Dragon had on her was in fact unknown to her, but her eyes showed no surprise at the news. "Telling everyone all of my secrets?" she waggled a finger in mock admonishment at her Sire. "That doesn't do. How am I to persuade the neophytes to enter my demesne if you warn them all about me beforehand." she smirked right back at Dragon. She knew some of his secrets, but unlike him, she'd keep those until she had to use them.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

"It's funny you refer to them as neophytes, neophyte."  The prince's attention quickly went from Marissa, whom he called forward, to Natalya, who had found some of her cattiness.  It was hard enough to keep attention off of Natalya anyway, without her making a naughty little distraction of herself.  "Besides, you're not Tzimisce, so Demesne isn't a term you'd be using.  And even if it was, wouldn't it be safer to say it would be my Demesne?  After all, last I checked, you still come home with me." He smirked.  Then he waved a hand at her in a playful but dismissive gesture.

"It's not like I revealed anything that shouldn't already be known about you.  Were I in any of your current situations, I would already know everything there is to know about all of you before anything resembling a face to face meeting.  One of the things I am rather well known for is my insight.  How else would I know things I should not know?" He glanced between Marissa, Natalya, and Alexander.  Alexander had his eyes on Natalya in more then one way.

"No, you neonates have a very distinct advantage over all others.  You have me.  More specifically, you have me backing you.  I have very little to gain from it, and yet I am putting my own neck on the line to make sure the majority of you succeed.  You will not find another city where you have access to the prince, let alone a prince as powerful and benevolent as me.  Remember that.  It's your greatest advantage." Yes.  The prince was addressing everyone.

Marissa stepped forward with confidence. Whatever he knew about her was fine. There really wasn't much to say that she could or would deny. The former Prince had been of her clan line and shamed the entire clan collectively. It would be a long time with much hard work to re-establish the Ventrue's good name. "Yes my Prince...?"

The prince regarded Marissa with a sideways look for a moment before speaking.  "You look very good tonight, young Ventrue.  You've done a great job of maintaining your position without disturbing anyone else.  You've got potential.  He smirked, looked around the room, and continued.  "So lets start with the obvious one first.  It's time for you to show these neonates that certain kindred of other clans hold in high regard.  Recite your lineage as far back as you can go, if you don't mind."

Marissa smiled at the compliment. With her head held high, and posture perfect, she stood her ground without so much as flinching when the Prince asked her to recite her lineage. She looked at Dragon without hesitation,

“It would be my honor my Prince, I was sired by Primogen Lars Reznik, who was sired by the exile John Lee, who was sired by the destroyed Methuselah Rowan Magister, believe to have been sired by Dirk Reichart, who is believed to have been sired by Ventrue, who was beheaded at the gates of Enoch the Second City by the first of the Antedeluvian traitors, Brujah."

Once she had finished she took a small sip of her drink and smiled. She was most pleased with her ability to recite her lineage, hopefully the prince would be equally pleased.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

The prince Nod-nodded at Marissa's response.  "Very nicely said, Marissa." He glanced around the room and then at his empty cup, and the stub of a cigar in the ashtray.  He took four steps forward to the large glass table and then plopped down in the largest of the seats.  The music in the background had switched over to some David Bowie, maintaining the relatively poppy feeling of the room.

The prince reached into a pocket and withdrew another cigar, with one hand while waving the room to be seated around the table.  "I'm tired of standing.  By all means, feel free to be seated."  His hand with the cigar in it extended to Natalya's direction.  "Natalya, do you mind?"

His attention shot to Madhu for the briefest of seconds before stopping on Marissa again.  "And one final thing, Miss Lee."  His free hand pointed at the briefcase.  "I think it's time to cease speculation among your new associates.  Why don't you show them just how important you are to them."

Natalya smiled. "It would be my pleasure, my Sire." Natalya strode over to Dragons side, taking the cigar from his hands, she snipped the end off and held it up to her lips. After a few moments the tip glowed with the dull ember of a fully lit cigar with her having made no motion towards any lighter. Natalya drew a few breaths from it before returning it to Dragon. "An interesting choice, I like it. Impeccable taste."

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Marissa sat down at the chair nearest her and laid the briefcase on top. “If it pleases you my Prince.” She unclasped the hinges and opened it with a slow graceful movement. No doubt the sight of $1,000,000.00 would be impressive to everyone that could see it. Marissa sat back in her seat with a bit of cockiness mixed with humor. It felt strange to be flaunting this money just to gain even a small amount of respect, but it sure couldn’t hurt. “As I said earlier, the only thing in this briefcase was that which has helped me in my future endeavors. “ She paused for a moment,  she had the floor for only a moment, so making the most of it would be the wisest idea she thought to herself. “And perhaps it will help us,” gesturing to the small circle of acquaintances gathered round, “in new future endeavors as well, should anyone be interested.”

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

Alexandre could not help but smile at Natalya's comment about the cigar, he could picture her speaking the exact same words right after literally licking the man's ass.

He covered his smile with a cup taking a sip and turned around to find a comfortable chair to sit on, it was a nicely made thing that could have been a central piece in one of his old rich friend's rooms back in the day... here, it was just meant to be used.

He sat down and looked at the contents of the briefcase just as Marissa showed it around... this time, he smiled openly and gracefully nodded at Marissa in appreciation, he had spent most of his life living with rich people, there were two kinds, the ones that showed the money, and the ones that didn't.. those that did show it, required a different handling than those that didn't... he'd whistle appreciatively but just couldn't afford the risk of interrupting whatever the Prince might say now, so he just grinned as if he was an adequately impressed idiot.

'Now now... lets see what endeavors do they have in mind precisely'.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

The prince took the cigar back from Natalya and beamed at her.  "Gracias mi amiga."  Ahh.  Spanish.  Specifically the Mexican dialect.  The smell from this cigar was just a hint of cinnamon and a bit of chocolate too.  Natalya was right, Dragon did have impeccable taste when it came to the flavor and aroma of smoke.

Then he smiled as Marissa opened up the briefcase.  "And there you have it, neonates, the advantage of having a Ventrue in your ranks.  A million in cash is better then five million in accounts and other easily traced assets.  While Primogen Reznick can't openly support you, lest he run the risk of cracking the overly tedious amount of eggshells he's dancing on, his commitment of wealth and a childe is evidence enough that the Blue Bloods are on board."  The prince exhaled a long plume of smoke.  "Believe it or not, Lars was the first of the elders on board with this plan of mine.  But then, considering I personally destroyed his undestroyable grandsire, exiled his sire, and ordered the destruction of his eldest broodmate, his cooperation wasn't entirely unforeseen."

Then Dragon looked to DJ.  "And your sire, often seen as having a love/hate relationship with me, was also relatively easy to get on board."  He ashed his cigar.  "Which brings me to my final point before returning the floor to the group of you.  I am putting you all together for the specific purpose of forming a coterie.  My personal agents.  As prince, I can no longer successfully manage a good relationship with the neonates and most ancillae in this city, as the majority of my time is spent dealing with my own clan and the elders.  It will be your job to make sure I keep looking good.  This in turn allows me to keep pleasing everyone as much as possible, and subsequently, allow you to have more and more advantages as time passes.  If you play your cards right and work together, you will be next century's ancillae, and then, the following century's elders.  I am setting the group of you up to be tomorrow's power players."  He nodded and smiled, quite pleased with his plans...

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

The Prince’s reaction and comments were not totally unexpected and did little to bruise Gabe’s ego. Ignetz had prepared him for this kind of treatment from a Tremere Prince, there was no love lost between their two clans, but Juan was the man in charge and the Assamites were lucky to even be allowed to reside in Charlotte. With the Tremere presence there they could surely drive the Assamites out if so desired.

However, on a more positive note the Prince already had what seemed a relatively important task in mind for Gabe, he was happy to quietly fade into the background once more and assume a position of observation. He would have to discover a way to get into contact with Phillip the Sheriff as from his own Sire’s description, the Gangrel didn’t stay within the cities limits unless specifically required to do so by the Prince.

When Marissa opened the case containing the million dollars Gabriel was not moved one way or the other, he was used to dealing with clients who were wealthy beyond many mortals dreams. The opportunity to earn the respect, acceptance and power as a coterie representing the Prince on the other hand was a much more valuable prize. He looked around at the gathered Neonates with a new outlook, as one trying to evaluate their capabilities and motivations.

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

DJ was silent and listend to the Prince respectfully, drinking in every detail about his rivals. He had assumed he would nigh be lynched for what had happened earlier and yet he had clearly come off almost scot free.

Natalya's history proved interesting and lighting the cigar without a lighter? Now there was a trick that would get a show talked about although that would most likely be viewed as either cheap stage magic or possibly a minor masquerade breech.

DJ's thoughts lingered off on a tangent as he thought about how devilish it would be for a vampiric magician to use the illusion of illusion to rip the Masquerade a new one every night to a full audience...

The snap click of a briefcase brought his attention back to the forefront and his eyes widened at the sight of a million in cool hard cash. Now the record labels and agents had all promised him millions but it was all tied up in this and that. The record label had their own accountants and "financial experts" tracking his funds and it's not like he ever had to pay for anything. He just asked for money and they gave it to him but still seeing a million on the table was a bit of a thrill.

Finally the Prince declared his intentions for those assembled and DJ couldn't help but bite the bait, hook line and sinker. DJ wasn't a stupid mortal but 'naive' and 'sheltered' definitely seemed appropriate, especially compared to the sharks circling the room...

Re: The heat is on - Camarilla PCs ---GO FOR IT PLAYAZ!!!

The prince nodded with a bit of finality and look at all of the individuals.  "Alright then.  Before you all disperse or mingle or do whatever it is you want to do with the rest of your evening, there is just a couple more things." Dragon inhaled and then exhaled smoke from his cigar.

"I know at least one of you needs to see me privately before the end of the night." He not-so-subtly looked at Marissa.  "Your first priority as a group is going to be to locate some real estate to use as a haven for those of you who don't already have your own or in the case of an emergency.  This place should also be useful as a place of business and mutual headquarters.  I would suggest something appropriate as Elysium too.  You'll find that with your newfound status and connection to me, kindred of this city will be coming out of the woodwork.  You are going to want them to come to you, not go to them.  As we all no doubt know by now, elders are picky and fickle.  Keep that in mind when deciding." The prince paused and looked between Marissa and Madhu again.

"I would suggest this for Marissa and Madhu since the two of you are the best equipped to handle that task."  He flicked ashes into the ashtray one more time.  "DJ, Alexander, there's something I want the two of you to do.  Some part of me is tickled by pairing a Nosferatu and a Toreador together to work on the same objective." D smirked and ran his hand over the side of his chin, thinking.  "There is a particular individual I need you to locate.  Alex, your sire will have more details."

The prince looked at his cigar, then over at the two Assamites, back at Natalya, and finally over the whole room again.  "From here on out, if any of you need to contact me directly for whatever reason, you'll be doing it through the proper channels.  If it is an emergency, do it through Natalya.  If you need more contact information for anybody else, say the Sheriff or one of your Primogen, look no further then Miss Hart in the next room.  Part of making me look good is being able to follow the rules.  Unfortunately, that means the chain of command... Keeper of Elysium or Clan Whip first, then Sheriff or Primogen, then Seneschal, and then me.  So yes, while I will maintain an open door policy with the group of you, I will rarely be openly available."

Then he leaned forward as if to rise, stopped, and as an after thought reached into a pocket and withdrew a hotel door key.  He slid it on the table to Natalya.  "Room 1116.  There is someone there you need to meet.  I'll be joining the two of you before long."  He looked around one last time at the assembled group.  "Any last minute questions, comments, or concerns for me?  Anything you'd like to ask me specifically or are we all good for now?  If there is nothing else, you are all acknowledged members of kindred society, free to call my Domain home."

Madhu reappeared from his spot at the bar and back at the Prince's side, easing his way through the small gathering easily. His new status as Whip no doubt made that feat much easier. Once he was beside the Prince he cleared his throat gently. politely, once there was a break in the conversation. Just enough to get Juan's attention.

"Excuse me, Majesty, but I was wondering, if I could ask about your recent personnel acquisition" Madhu waited until he was acknowledged by the Prince before speaking any further, "The conditions were fairly exacting, indicative of someone with considerable taste, but I was wondering, what trait of hers you found most important."

Marissa nodded to the prince when he mentioned the private meeting. She sat there and listened to him, taking it all in and making mental notes. Once he rose from the table she closed her briefcase and locked the clasps back in place. She followed him back across the room. Better to get this done, medicine is always easier to take when you just "do it" instead of fighting it.

Alex looked around the room, everyone seemed concentrated on their own thoughts for a moment no one speaking. So he placed his almost empty cup on a little table besides his chair, and after it was clear that they were dismissed, he stood up and bowed to the Prince saying "Thank you, your Majesty. It is an honor, I will not disappoint you.".

He waited for a minute in the unlikely case that the Prince would deign to reply but more to see if anyone else, other than the obvious ones that had already been given appointments, was leaving the place... the party clearly seemed over.
