Re: The Lizard-Folks Tale

No matter how he tried to avoid the snake, the beast battled with a devotion worthy of a follower of an ancient god.

Luckily for Ben, living a sordid, foul filthy life had given him a good immune system, and the bit of the snake did little to no damage...

[Private to GM:

Rath slashes at the wounded snake (or any other squirmy thing in reach, as he can't track their quick, sinuous movements), but his sword hits stone and air.

OOC: Swing and miss.
DM: Rath took 2 points of damage last round which is not reflected on the chart.

Not a good choice...

Re: The Lizard-Folks Tale

Ben's acrobatic maneuvering proves quite ineffective in terms of fighting prowess, but it also makes the thief a difficult target for the two snakes coiled around the statue's torso. Both snakes strike at naught but air as Ben swooshes by.

Down below, nine angry snakes slither this way and that, engaged in a cat and mouse dance with their prey. Norion is struck twice, while Eagle also suffers his first wound.

OOC: Norion takes 6 points of damage. Eagle takes 1 point of damage and must Save vs Posion (+1 to the roll).

Re: The Lizard-Folks Tale

Inas draws his magnificent rune-covered bastard sword with a fluid motion and races to close the distance with the first group of serpents: those which are presently engaged with Eagle and Saliq.

Judging Saliq to be the most needing of support, Inas wades in front of the illusionist and proceeds to lop off a nearby serpent's head with a flourish of the ranger's blade.

The ranger coolly surveys the rest of the scene and sizes up his next potential foe.

OOC: Inas kills the snake which had been battling Saliq

Re: The Lizard-Folks Tale

Norion continues to hack at the four serpents which had cornered him underneath the bronze statue. Swoosh, Swoosh, splat goes one of the snakes as the dwarf's axe rends the creature in twain.

"Rrrgrggf!" the dwarf roars in finality. "Crawl back into your hole while you still have a chance, fell beasts!"

Norion was just now hitting his stride, and after suffering a few painful bites, was getting quite serious about putting an end to this battle.

OOC: Norion kills one snake.

Re: The Lizard-Folks Tale

Eagle, Saliq and Inas are now free from the menace of the poisonous snakes; however they same cannot be said for Ben, Norion and Rath, each of of whom continue to square off against multiple foes near the ancient statue.

Ben, suspended from the statue, is struck again, as is Norion. Thankfully the dwarf is quite hardy indeed and once again shakes off the poison. Perhaps years living in squalor and abject filth will provide Ben with the same boon?

OOC: Ben and Norion both take 1 point of damage and must make saves vs Poison (+1)

Inas charges further into the shrine to strike at one of the snakes coiled around the statue. The ranger's sword strikes the bronze statue a few inches off the mark, sending sparks flying into the gloom of the chamber.

"Hang tight, Ben. Help has arrived!" he calls up to the suspended thief.

The missed attack gets the attention of the snake, whom has now turned to regard a new, perhaps less elusive prey.

OOC: Inas missed.
