Re: Heat a Cold, Burn a Fever...

Nightmare's yeti spirit proves tougher than his appearance suggests. At the moment the bullets impact the creature it appears the surface of the yeti reveals the same body armor that Nightmare had worn prior to transforming. Although the yeti twists and turns as the projectiles strike, he appears undamaged afterwards and expresses his annoyance with the screaming roar associated with larger primates.

Sunphoenix watches as 'Whisper' thunders away rapidly for a moment... leaving the immediate battlefield clearly injured and not far enough away that he could not re-engage.. but instead the fiery hero turns his attention toward 'Caress of Steel' who is still a tactical threat, that has not been injured much at all, and unleashes a blast of solar plasma at the magnetic manipulator...

08:53, Today: Sunphoenix rolled 7 using 1d20 with rolls of 7. Fiery Blast at Caress of Steel.

08:54, Today: Sunphoenix rolled 6 using 2d6+1 with rolls of 2,3. Fire Blast Damage at Caress of Steel.

Re: Heat a Cold, Burn a Fever...

Despite being in the heat of a battle, Osc takes mental note of any obvious devices being employed by the opposition -- anticipating finding something on Caress of Steel.

OOC: Apparently I have to specifically ask if anyone has an obvious device, and some of us have anti-device powers (Osc, Onyx) but we need to know if we can somehow bring them into play...

Re: Heat a Cold, Burn a Fever...

OOC: Inhuman successfully slams Bear on his head but he remains conscious. Sunphoenix burns the debris manipulator but she is still attacking. Debris slams into Sunphoenix and Oscillator for 12 and 16 damage respectively. Sunphoenix can roll 3 into power and the remaining 9 drops him to 0 hit points (and is knocked backwards 20 feet in the air). He has Willpower A so he can spend an extra 1 power per turn to remain conscious. Oscillator can roll 7 into power leaving 9 to hit points (9% KO chance and he is also knocked backwards 20 feet). Inhuman is punched by the teleporter's left hand for 20 damage. After limited invulnerability he takes 16 damage, 4 of which he can roll into power leaving 12 to hit points. Her special carrier attack does 8 damage which he can roll with 4 of leaving 4 into hit points and she looks a bit better than before (blue flash around left hand seen).

Oscillator has not noted any obvious devices on any of the Soviets aside from firearms.

Nightmare can go then I will summarize the turn and do new initiatives.

17:51, Today: The Inhuman rolled 61 using 2d100 with rolls of 10,51. ko.

Inhuman is able to shake off both of her blows. But the constant attacks are starting to take their toll on the massive Inhuman. Hopefully with the Bear's head buried in the snow he won't have to fend off anymore bites.

Sword of Damocles:
Oscillator has not noted any obvious devices on any of the Soviets aside from firearms

Oscillator mumbles to himself, "Not a single technological device among these adversaries.  Bah!  How can I prove I'm the master of vibration if I can't disable a single device?  No one will ever realize my true powers..."

Then he snaps out of it, gets focussed back on the battle.  "Hmmmm, perhaps I have a concussion?" he muses, also out loud.

OOC:  For the duration of this combat, b/c of his early KO / concussion,
I'm going to have Osc mumble a few strange things...
feel free to feed me (PM?) any monologue / dialogue you might want Osc to say.

Non action

The Inhuman, battered, lay sprawled a top the Bear, driving the creature's muzzle deep into the ice and snow. Even as he took the powerful blow from the Soviet Telephone he refused to release the bear.

Looking about he could see about he could see his team had also taken a beating.

"We are battered but not broken. The free world is at stake. Let's win this one!"

OOC: ...Telephone? ;)

The Soviets are pretty battered too; one has flown the coop, Bear is badly damaged, the teleporter and debris manipulator are both damaged, and only 2 soldiers out of 12 are left standing. So all told the team is doing pretty well with only 3 supers and 2 soldiers left vs. 7 heroes.

Re: Heat a Cold, Burn a Fever...

Inhuman spikes the grappled Bear into the icy ground like a football, head first. While the blow is telling the massive Soviet is able to avoid being knocked senseless....for now.

Sunphoenix catches the debris-manipulating Soviet with a bolt of fire, causing her to hiss in pain.

The debris-manipulator targets both Oscillator and Sunphoenix with a large chunk of debris and this time strikes accurately, smashing heavy twisted metal into each of them. Sunphoenix summons up incredible force of will to remain conscious and is still in the battle.

Seeing Inhuman tied up with Bear, the teleporter moves over to him and punches him solidly with her left hand. There is a flare of blue light and in addition to the solid impact Inhuman feels some of his life-force being pulled away and the teleporter appears a bit less battered than a moment ago.

Nightmare's yeti form tries to tear into one of the remaining soldiers but in his enthusiasm his blow goes wide.

Rolled 18 to hit with Light Control (better odds to hit than Power Blast if he has magnetic defense up). But 18 will still miss I assume. +3 ACC.

How would Onyx go about grabbing and trying to contest his control of the debris. Can I get a sense of how much weight he is tossing around?

OOC: Shadow's Kiss does not wake-up on her action and Bear holds his action. Caress of Steel continues to move backwards 4" per phase, is Oscillator keeping pace? (By her next action she will be 56" away from the battle area)

Also, now that he is almost nose-to-nose to Caress of Steel he can make an Int save with a -2 to the base number to see if he remembers anything out of the database (ie. finally being able to ID the Soviet).

Re: Heat a Cold, Burn a Fever...

Sunphoenix is battered and pierced by several blunt and sharp fragments of metal from the attack clearly suffering multiple cracked ribs, lacerations on his right arm and chest and likely a pierced lung from several bits of metal still stabbed into him.  His red, white and gold costume .. is torn and mostly red now with his blood... but amazingly the super is STILL up!  The metal fragments stuck into him slowly reaching a dull cherry red glow from the flames still surrounding him.

[Sunphoenix does indeed spend an extra power point to remain conscious.]

He does not stop action though.. he flies over to the Russian teleporter woman - Shadow's Kiss... picking her up to fly her over to Ocsilator carrying the Russian super... but notes 'Ozzy' is flying into pursuit of Caress of Steel.. not a wise thing for him to follow anymore with how injured he is right now... so he changes course...

[Still can't get my head around the fact that even though the power says I'm surrounded in flames its take me actually making an attack to burn things I touch... seems stupid.. but whatever.]

Sunphoenix flies over to Vosper carrying the Russian teleporter.

Landing he grimaces as he pulls pieces of metal fragments from his body but comments to Vosper, "..You have one of 'Ozzy's' CRIT injectors, I'm barely on my feet?  Look.. she's the Russian's taxi... Shadow's Kiss.. I~I... don't want to kill a woman.. enemy killer or not.. just don't feel right for a man or hero to do such things.. you got anything that will keep her down and out?  She's.. actually kinda pretty.. I'd feel sick for days if I had to...~ I knew I should have brought my stungun, but the plan was not for me to get involved!  Marine solider or not.. it cuts me right to the heart to have to hurt a woman!"

Re: Heat a Cold, Burn a Fever...

Vosper speeds by the teleporter, hitting her with a dart solidly and drawing blood.

Poco follows Vosper's lead, tearing into the teleporter with his claws and dropping her to the snow in a heap.

The debris-manipulator begins moving backwards from the battle, the huge chunks of debris whirling around her in a very tight orbit as she moves evasively.

Oscillator is able to awaken from being knocked out and follows the debris-manipulator, waiting to see what she does.

Onyx tries sending a beam of intense light at the debris-manipulator but his shot goes wide.

Nightmare tries to tear into one of the soldiers but again his claws go wide of their target.

Vosper zips near one of the soldiers, striking him with a dart and doing a lot of damage but he is still fighting for his survival.

Sunphoenix, clinging to consciousness, scoops up the teleporter and flies to Vosper. He grabs a CRIT potion from her and injects himself with it, hoping to heal enough to resist falling unconscious.

The unwounded soldier unloads a spray of rounds at Poco, having seen him drop the teleporter and 3 of the bullets strike the cat-man.

OOC: Poco is hit by 3 bullets for 11, 7, and 7 damage. He can roll 4, 4, and 3 damage into power leaving 7, 3, and 4 damage to hit points (7%, 3%, and 4% KO chances). Sunphoenix heals 2 points of damage this turn at a cost of 1 power (he will heal 3 damage next turn at a cost of 1 power, alternating 2 and 3 healing until 10 turns are up for a total cost of 10 power).
