Nightmare nods, and unpacks the sniper rifle. His voice as quiet and hissy as Vosper's, he says, "I'm going to use the scope to look, I won't shoot anyone, yet."
Of course, that's what he'll do, put together the rifle and sight on the facility to take a closer look.

Re: Heat a Cold, Burn a Fever...

The weather hampering visibility, Oscillator reaches out with his vibration senses to see if he can detect anyone near.  Quietly, he says "I'll take a peak, too."

Osc hovers, & it seems most of the snow doesn't touch him.

Onyx hovers just off the snowpack and looks over the scene. He is not tactician and certainly not very skilled at sneaking into secret bases.

"Now what? Do we go up an knock on the door?"

"I can make way to the fence and bypass the security system. As the Inhuman I can quickly move into the nearest watchtower and eliminate the guard so the rest of you can enter unseen." Muldoon said, his voice changing as he changed forms and became the Inhuman. Although massive the others had seen the Inhuman move through tight spaces and flatten himself out. His light gray flesh, if it can be called that would serve him well in the snow.

"The trick is not being seen. Flying up there will get us spotted. I am fairly certain I can eliminate the tower without being spotted. That will allow the rest of the team to make entry." Muldoon replied.

"Flying through a floor would seem fairly hard to spot,
but you think a ton of giant rubber sneaking around will somehow be harder to sense?

Do you have a super-sneaky ability with your rubber feet?"

"Are you calling me fat?" Muldoon asked with a laugh.

"Didn't know you could carry someone with you under ground. But yeah while I can't fly underground I can do a he'll of a low crawl."

With that the Inhuman flattened himself to the ground and became a light gray pancake that could easily pass as a patch of shadow covered snow.

Re: Heat a Cold, Burn a Fever...

Looking through the sniper rifle scope Nightmare gets a glimpse of a pair of soldiers in each tower around the camp although it takes a little bit to get a good look at each one. At this range Oscillator determines that anyone moving in the distance just would not register over the vibration of the winds and the snow blowing on and over things but does get a sensation of vibration from the structures, possibly some kind of motor. Inhuman is able to shift his color sufficiently to blend pretty well with the snow and with the winds and blowing snow would probably be harder to pick out than even teammates in arctic camouflage. The wind continues to rise and fall, blowing the snow around in gusts before allowing it to mostly settle back. At this point it does not appear that the team has been spotted from the towers.

Re: Heat a Cold, Burn a Fever...

Nightmare continues to watch the compound through the rifle scope as he explains, "We're undetected, thus far. I doubt it would be difficult to sneak up on those tower guards. Even if they're taken out, it's possible there are others inside the compound. If I could walk in before you eliminate the guards, it might give us a better chance at remaining undetected."

"Sounds like a plan," Vosper agreed.  "I can move fast, but in this weather, I can't be sure it'll be fast enough to take 'em both out before they can raise an alarm - and they may have check-in times and codes we don't know."

Re: Heat a Cold, Burn a Fever...

"So Ossy can sneak Nightmare inside. Meanwhile I'll sneak up, breech the fence and be in position to take out the personnel in the tower. The rest of you can follow. If possible we want to neutralize all three towers before we are compromised. Anyone have the capability to take down the third tower if we can take down one and two?" The Inhuman asked.

"Screw this," Vos hissed.  "I can get to the closest tower in a shade over 2 seconds. If I time things correctly with Nightmare watching through the scope, I can do it during a gust of wind when the guards aren't looking our way.  I say we do something," she said.

"We have a lot of cover.  Obviously, I defer to those of you with a lot of combat experience.  But my suggestion is -- since we are a team of highly effective professionals -- I carry two inside the perimeter.  I don't care whom, so long as you weigh less than about 450lbs.  And then I fly out, or I can come & pick you up if you hit problems."

"Meanwhile, Nightmare snipes anyone who makes a fuss."

"My suggestion would be to take Vosper and Poco, while Inhuman and Nightmare have their specific tasks."

Re: Heat a Cold, Burn a Fever...

Nightmare puts the sniper rifle back in its case and starts to pack it on a snowmobile. "I'm really not that good at the whole 'sniping' thing. Personally, I don't think we'll approach undetected, so I think we would be better off with misdirection. If Onyx and I were to ride up towards the gate, it could be enough distraction to allow Inhuman and Vosper to get into one tower and eliminate the watchers while Oscillator and Poco does so in the other tower. I don't think Onyx would find it difficult to open the gate from the outside, even if it's locked, while I interfere with anyone that would interfere with him."
"Once we're inside, we split and while Onyx goes to the left and assists in eliminating the guards in that corner tower, I go to the right and assist in eliminating the guards in that tower. Inhuman, Vosper, Oscillator, and Poco would just continue along the wall to the next tower after they silence the first towers. That would mean, in short order, we would have all the guards in the towers silenced and we could each follow the back perimeter to regroup."

Once finished, he looks up at the rest of the team before explaining, simply, "we live in a military installation, tactics manuals are about all you can find to read."

Re: Heat a Cold, Burn a Fever...

We need a leader. All I know to do is to hit what's in front of me as hard as I can, which is pretty hard. But we got our butts handed to us last time out.

We need a leader. One who didn't learn his leadin' from a book."

Onyx looks at Muldoon.

What you say Master Sergeant?"

Since everyone seemed content to blather on in the Antarctic cold until they were eventually discovered, Vosper began timing the winds and readying for her sprint at one of the guard towers. "We don't have all day," she reminded them.

We need a leader. "
Onyx looks at Muldoon.

"While I don't disagree that we need a leader", Osc says -- looking unhappily at Muldoon, "I do question the timing on this discussion.  Why change our group dynamic right this moment in sub-zero conditions?  Don't we get to vote or something?"
