No problem. I think I will resolve the cave-in tonight so as to keep the game moving, and to a degree simulate the confusion and sudden-ness of this event! If it's not clear where people are going I will just roll a die.

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts II

Sounds like fun!

Since everyone is moving out let's all keep going that way.  I hope that this doesn't seal us off from our objective.

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts II

Hi group,

As a note I'm off for almost week come Friday. (A group of us rent out a summer camp on the lake because it's end-of-season. I'll be running a couple of introduction to roleplaying activities using the Star Wars RPG.) Being the backwoods of British Columbia, internet is not completely absent but I won't be able to check more than every few days. Sorry for any inconvenience!

In reply to Ken Jenkins (msg # 33):

Last year I ran a test game, it went well. But only the boys showed up, and they were excited and yelling (as 12 year olds can be). This year I am running a game just for girls as well, so they can get in some fun without being shouted over.

Hehe.  That sounds great!  I remember listening to a group playing and thinking "well I could do that" but it was hard to voice an opinion.  Glad to see that you're helping continue on the role playing generations.  :)

Enjoy and I'll look forward to hearing how it goes when you get back.

In reply to Neva Alexovna Morozova (msg # 35):

My pleasure. I had decided to run a game for girls last year, before we found out Michelle was pregnant and well before we knew it was a girl. I think this hobby is only better for women and girls being involved, and it hasn't always been (and still often isn't) easy for them. Becoming a father and having a daughter has made it all that more important. (Although if she want's to go her own way, as she likely will, that's ok too!)

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts II

I took an offer to run D&D 5 at the local library for some middle school kids/younger high schoolers.  So once a week I herd cats, make evil laughter, tell them they give me great ideas & they proceed to run a-muck.  I said no evil characters in my game,   you will meet plenty of them in your travels.  They love it, half never played before, the others did 3.5.  The librarian loves it too, 3 of them got library cards & several are reading assorted medieval/fantasy books.

It's great when we can get the others involved in what we love to do.  And I'm still learning a lot from you guys.  Thanks.  :)

In reply to Ken Jenkins (msg # 39):

I hate my job.  No internet, and rpol doesn't work well on my phone.  Insufficient sleep, and too much driving.

Another 3-4 weeks and I'll be done, sooner, if my pimp can find me something to do, locally.

at least then I'll have time to get directv set up at my parent's house, so there's internet there.

Have a good night.

It looks from the picture that we can head right up the ramp into the ship.  Is that true?

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts II

"Plastic paper" is also known as "synthetic paper".

It looks like regular paper but it can't be ripped or torn and has a kind of slick feel.

Historically, "paper" was some kind of fibrous material formed into sheets for writing or wrapping. Over thousands of years it's become synonymous with all sorts of synthetic materials that look and act like organic paper.

In reply to GM (msg # 44):

Thanks for the clarification but I'm going to keep my post.  I still like the funny, to Neva anyway, comment about paper being plastic.  :)  Living on the streets you pick up an odd sense of humor.  It just pops out every now and then.

Besides this paper looked kind of torn didn't it?  perhaps it's not the plastic kind.  Ken will just have to be more careful when he pulls it out.  hehehe

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts II

So the cargo bay and a couple more rooms in this passageway to search?  Is there anything else we can check?

Basically, that's it.

There is a passage aft on the upper deck. Blake is looking into a different area, a cargo hold on the lower deck.

I'm going out of town tomorrow and will be gone most of the day.  If need be just have Neva kick butt (Ken's or Blake's would do or bad guys).  I'll catch up when I return.

Ahhh sooo, time to let Neva lead the way ...

As a GM, when characters want a fight - they tend to get them.  Some of the AD&D group wanted a fight, so 3 gelatinous cubes rolled down the stairs ...  The lead instigator ended up being swallowed with just his boots sticking out ...  Yes, jelly cubes can roll -- GM fiat.

I generally don't like doing that, even if that might make my games more exciting! But on that note, maybe I should throw some wildlife at you, or at least Kalamanru's henchmen. Who knows? Maybe they're already there!

I am dealing with middle & high schoolers, not too prone to talking & thinking ...  Now, jelly cubes in Traveller ??  1 word:  Grenades.

Rolling cubes would work... unorthodox but why not?
