Oh, wait, some of those runes are in Terran aren't they?  I totally forgot about that.  Boss-man, one translation please?  Assume I share the information with the rest of the crew! :P

Re: OOC Discussion

I know the DM knows this, but I just wanted to give the party a heads up that I am very pregnant (player, not Dale, obviously).  My due date was two days ago, so I could go into labor at any time, at which point Dale will be on hiatus for probably a couple weeks without warning.

Well, except for this warning.  This is your warning.

Re: OOC Discussion

Wow! Congratulations/good luck!

I should perhaps mention that I'm about to be rather busy for a couple of weeks as well but for a much less interesting or good reason. :P But I should still be able to post a little bit.

Re: OOC Discussion

And best of luck to you with your delivery! Take the time you need and enjoy the new little one!

I guess now would be a good time to mention that we lost Nori to real life...again >_< Easy come, easy go I guess. That will leave us with Gren, Kass, Lorelei, and Strange for the next few weeks at the least. I was wondering what you guys wanted to do and what your thoughts are on the matter.

Edit: Apparently Kass is busy to :P

Re: OOC Discussion

Well congratulations to Dale.  I hope it all goes well and you're back here with us soon!

In the meantime I'm all for keeping on as we have.  If the current situation devolves into a fight then any playerless characters might need to be NPC'd.  If we can squeak by here without a fight we might just make it to Azul Irkul and any NPC'd characters could split off from the group for a bit.

Whatever works, you know?

Re: OOC Discussion

Yes but it leaves me with 2-3 players to NPC. Not impossible but with my already busy schedule, not very convenient.

Re: OOC Discussion

Thanks all.  And yes, it is my first.  I don't know how other women manage to do more than one pregnancy.

Anyway, my thinking is that if we put out the braziers, the portals will close, but the monsters already out of them will be free.  And I don't think we could survive a fight with that many bad guys.  But the drow might help us then.

On the other hand, killing Zatara might solve the problem altogether.  Or make it much worse.  Dale would probably object to that idea on principle, though.

Re: OOC Discussion

Well, turning out the lights entirely got rid of the shadow things before, and water dealt with the fire things pretty handily, so it's possible that we could deal with them all without even having to fight. I.e. Kill all the fire mobs with Drench and Ray of Frost before anything else, and then put out the last brazier, thus turning out the lights.

Re: OOC Discussion

Although attacking the fire-things might set them free in the first place.  Or killing one might release the opposing shadow-monster.

Re: OOC Discussion

So, does anyone object to trying to put out the other brazier?  Maybe using a water / cold attack on one of the fire guys first to see what happens?

Is there a door opposite the room from where we entered?  I can't quite tell looking at the map.

Re: OOC Discussion

Well, I'm worried that she's actually halfway through some kind of ritual and is just stalling for time so that she can complete it. How about we take defensive positions and see what happens if we attack one of the monsters while they're still immobilised, and if the poop hits the fan we can extinguish and light the braziers using spells (I presume you guys have some form of spell that can light a brazier prepared? If not, we need to get some torches or something ready.

I say we try Kass' idea.  Sorry I'm slow to update lately.  I'm having trouble focusing on much of anything right now.

Re: OOC Discussion

Sounds fair enough to me.  Which enemy should we attack?  We had an easier time with the fire monsters earlier than the shadow ones in the chapel.  How about the fire monster closest to the brazier that you guys put out?  That way we're right there in case it needs re-lighting.

Lorelei's just gonna watch until you guys actually need help, she's all for Dale's idea of just killing the drow girl to remove energy from the spell.

Been going nuts with my work schedule and the D&D game I've been running in person recently. Can't wait to get this game back up and running. I also have someone to replace Nori should he actually stay gone. He'll be taking on the wonderful role of party band-aid :P

Re: OOC Discussion

I'm busy shooting things, so it's quite lucky that all my games have ground to a halt at the same time (hopefully not as a result of that, though!)

Also, a walking, talking first-aid kit might be just what we need when we inevitably wake up all these baddies and get our asses handed to us!
