Well, I'm feeling better and up to coming back to the game.  But it sounds like I wasn't the only one with other stuff going on.

Re: OOC Discussion

*Cracks neck" 10,000 years can give you such a crick in the neck!

Well I hope you all have enjoyed our month-long hiatus. I just had my birthday yesterday and my personal schedule has been pretty hectic in the intervening time so it came at a perfect time, seemingly for most of us. I'm ready to hop back into the action though sometime very soon if you all are up for it. I just want to do a quick roll-call to make sure everyone's still game though by the last few posts in this thread recently and Gren's IC post, I'm guessing we all are.

I'll be bringing in a player from the Dance of the Dead game that unfortunately closed down just before our downtime as a healer for you guys since going forward without one can generally get messy. So without further ado, let me know what's up with you all!

PS- Dale, congrats on the new kiddo! Hope all is well on that front!

Re: OOC Discussion

Working lots of over time doing constructions work.  I'm usually pretty fried by the time I get home.  Plus, I'm working on getting a job with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.  Getting a job with the state takes FOREVER!  I've even stopped playing my table top games.  After a month or so I'm really starting to get those gaming withdrawals.

Re: OOC Discussion

Thank you.  I am beginning to adjust, yes.  It was pretty rough at first, but I'm doing much better now.  And my son seems pretty happy with his new existence, so I'm calling it a win for me.

Good luck, Gren.  My husband works construction, too, and he's frequently burnt out by the end of the day.  I hope the new job works out.

Re: OOC Discussion

Well we all seem to be present as well as our newbie. I'll be getting the ball rolling in the next couple of days for us. Go ahead and post IC if you have something to say before I have Dale go after one of the unlit braziers.

Re: OOC Discussion

Well, thinking about it, it's maybe not a bad idea to just move on. Aside from all the experience and potential loot we'd miss out on...

Right, also the fact lorelei can't hit anything really sucks....

I'm gonna look into buying a pair of Magical gloves with something basic like Resist Fire 5 after this >.<

Well, you can hit the fire thingies, but you'd sacrifice the first layer of skin on your fists to do so. :S

Yeah, a bunch of elementals and incorporeals at 2nd level is pretty rough.  But we did know our DM was evil before this.

I am indeed. You were the ones that wanted to go INTO the fortress. I did give you other options :P

Re: OOC Discussion

What?  You told us in no uncertain terms that the only way through the pass was through this fortress!

DM Visceri:
...
The fortress that you've all come to know and love is basically the watchtower and entryway that leads up to the giant hallway, aka Whitecap Pass.

That's from a post in January in this thread.  If we'd been able to avoid the fortress entirely I would've voted for that...

There was an option to attempt to climb over the mountain, I believe.

I thought that was mentioned as a joke... like we all knew it wasn't going to really work out well for us.  Maybe?  I dunno.

Re: OOC Discussion

I doubt the mountain would have been any better.  I don't think any of us have the Survival skill.  I wouldn't have wanted to risk it without a druid or ranger leading the way.

That, and the mountain still would have been run by an evil DM.

Re: OOC Discussion

Basically, over the mountain was the survival player vs enviornment way and through the fortress was the player vs monsters way. Granted, there's still some of the other aspect in both but it just depended on your skill set and disposition :P

And yeah, I may have pushed for through the fort for you guys since it seemed to be suicide for your group to do otherwise.

On a completely different note, please welcome Eustace Brightshield, our new player and a refugee from my Dance of the Dead game! (Kuldar for those of you who were in it)
