Re: A Game of Throws
The team moved about the floor like tourists, moving from one spot to the next without waiting to see the results of their action or words. Crossfire had the thought that his Greek friend Heraclitus might berate them for this if he were there with them, despite his nearly endless patience and adaptability.
Crossfire was not rebuffed from the woman he spoke to, who had only given him a quizzical look. Though he initially felt like he'd blown his chances with his talk of hairy clitorises, a second thought reminded him that he didn't get slapped or spit on, as usual. This was a good sign.
Though Quiksit was confused about the conversational capacity of her teammate, he (she at the moment) was never disappointed with the communication that machines had to offer. Whether or not they had much to say, at least they made some sort of sense. When the model 9145XRT responded, Quiksit was not disappointed with the response, only the amount of information given.
It was a little odd to see a woman blatantly speaking to a mechanical waiter however, which earned her an obvious glance from the nearest security guard. But the guard had lost interest upon seeing the asian woman approach and begin talking to her. After Vibro was done speaking to Quiksit, she caught up with Crossfire, began talking and moved toward the buffet. As they made their way across the floor, Vibro surveyed the room and noticed one of the floaters marching in her direction from behind them, very indiscrete about his intended target. When she caught his eye, he called out to her.
"Miss, excuse me Miss! Hold on just a sec." The guard's voice was higher and softer than expected for someone of his size. He had his hand out palm up, gesturing for her to stop as he approached Vibro and Crossfire. Some of the other guards offered some lazy attention toward them, but didn't move from their stations.
OOC -Perception success for Vibro, caught the guard, but he was already approaching.
The robot did have a response, but it's in a PL to just Quiksit as nobody else would hear it. By the way, Quiksit has a skill roll to speaking to machines to make sure he can understand them, just roll it and include it when you do talk to them. Also, if you're trying to get information out of them, especially game affecting or some pertinent info, you'll need to roll an influence check, just like if you were trying to persuade a person. They have just as much opportunity to dislike you as anyone else. I've skipped this as you've moved on anyway.
If you're using power points with your powers, make sure you keep track of it. There's a scratchpad up by the Dice Roller that you can use.
Speaking of keeping track of things, when we start the real game, I'll ask you to keep track of your successful skills, as you can only progress the skills you use. With power points though, I'll come up with a table for combat situations so that I can see the remaining points and other info. We'll get that though.
From here, before you post, you can do any skill checks and rolls to gauge your reaction or what you should do. For example, Insight would be a good one to roll as this guard approaches to see if you can read what his intentions might be. Or if you're trying to bluff or lie, I might make you roll an influence check.
