It's actually upstairs, but we'll get to that.

Ok everybody, I've landed on a power template (with a little help from my drunken friend Daenus).

You should all now have 4 powers that basically "came with" the gift.    You also get to choose 4 from any magic section you like with the restrictions listed below.  Daenus, you're only missing 1; Kat you're all done.

1. Must be found in a magic section (including sorcery) from any of the 3 books.  Any conversions necessary I will perform.
2. Must make sense to your power.  The idea here is think basic; fancy stuff will come later.  For instance, it does not make sense for an Air guy to have Teleport, however it does make sense for him to have Armor (perhaps created from a thin vortex all around his body deflecting attacks).
3. Please write your ideas to me in the PM thread, and I will add them to your character with any necessary conversions.
4. Bear in mind that I will be the final arbiter of said power choices because part of my job is to keep things fair and even for everybody.  So be prepared that you may have an idea that I respond to with "let's save that one for later", because it's a little too advanced for the game and party in their current state.

Re: OOC

Wait wait wait wait...wait...wait, waitwait wait...

There's a 3rd book? Can you send it to me? I've only got BRP and RQ2.

Also, give us our base skills etc for our element skillz and whatever we're meant to start with, ie projection, manipulation, etc. And you didn't say which were the base 4. Just sayin'.

Re: OOC

Wow Daenus.... needy.

Ok, after taking a look at the 3rd book: Superworld, I realize that I misspoke.  It is unnecessary for the task at hand as there is no magic in it.  That's not to say I can't send it to you, just that you won't need it for this.

Base skill for your element is POW x 2.  And I didn't say which 4 because some of you only have 4 on your CS right now, and you, Daenus, only have one space open anyway so it wasn't terribly relevant.

Anyway, the first 4 listed on your CS are the base powers.

In reply to Chakan (msg # 48):

Just so I'm clear, we distribute our skill points to the magic powers like any other skill (once you've approved the magic powers, of course)?

And I thought I was so close to being done............anyways this gives me a whole lot more to think about.....

PS - My memory is shit lately. Can't believe I got the bar location mixed up.

Re: OOC

In reply to Gavin Bonnar (msg # 49):

Just blame it on the kids like the rest of the parents.  We all buy it, kids or no.

Skill points: do NOT spend skill points on the powers.  (I don't mean to yell, just want to be clear.)  You all will have one skill that pertains to your powers, it will be called "Element" and your particular power base like "Air" or "Darkness".  That skill will govern your ability to effectively use your powers, and as you gain experience using them that skill can increase.  Until then, you're all starting with it at the base, which is POW x 2.

So all your skill points should go to skills.  By the way, everybody gets Manipulation and Projection at their base.  Here are the bases:

Manipulation (Int + Pow)
Projection (Dex x 2)

But like the Element skill, these 2 skills are tied to your power and should NOT have points added to them.  They start at base.  Again, sorry for yelling.  I'm excited.

I'm glad you asked; no need to go completely back to the drawing board.

Re: OOC

Hey Gavin, the memory and kids thing...it gets worse. Sorry.

So Chakan, I take it this means you're giving us Manipulation and Projection for free then? As in we don't have to rearrange all of our already calculated skills to come up with an extra 10 points each to buy Manip and Project? That's awful kind and generous of you. Thanks Man, you're back on the Christmas card list!

<private to everyone except Chakan: There's not really a list. Don't say anything.>

Aint he the best...

So how close is everyone to having their characters ready?

I think I am almost done.

Are we starting exactly where we left off or are we fast forwarding a coupld of months or what?

If it's a vote, I vote for where we left off. I think I was getting somewhere with Kat!

And yeah, I'm pretty much done.

There is absolutely no vote.

This is not a playerocracy.  It's a Chaktatorship.

And you'll find out when you find out.

Wow guys... and I thought I was bad with the puns. And you two? I would have said you were like Chak and cheese, but here you are, both punning around. While we're on the subject, do you listen to Chakakan? Have you ever seen Chaka-Zulu?

Okay, even I can't keep this up because I'm likely to get electro-Chak therapy from our GM.

Meanwhile, Kat has been off in a corner nursing a sprained ocular muscle from all the extreme eye rolling she did during the previous conversation.

"Hey, Daenus, why don't you be a dear and grab me a cold compress for my eye.  And how about a beer while you're at it?  Now THAT'S getting somewhere, jackass."

While I know it is not my responsibility to point it out, I feel obliged to say it.

Vahl, you're the only one without a character description. You may want to check through the cast to see what you're up against. I'm only pointing this out because I'd like to see yours. And because you haven't done it yet. And because everyone else has.

I don't mean to single you out or anything. Ah, who am I kidding? I love shaming people into doing things!

While we're shaming, I'll go ahead and jump on this start-up dog pile and add that Vahls's background is... light, shall we say.

Got some writing to do to keep up with this crew, buddy.

Re: OOC

Ok you Gay-bobs, Its done, I have to admit my first inclination was not to even do a background, why...becuase I all need to say is Chris Hemsworth, hell even I cream my jeans.  And then I thought, hey what the fuck, he's everything I'm not, tall, buff, great hair, and rich. Shit I can pretend with that...so I did it.  I don't know if I like it but I did it.  So get off your soap boxes.

Wow. After reading your description, old Gav's gonna have to get some Vidal Sassoon and botox to keep up with Vahl. Nah. J/K - Gav's too old for that shit. Vahl's gonna be the pretty boy with long locks, Gav's the old man with split ends.
