OOC

Out of game thoughts and open dialogue.  If a situation happens (like the group separating) which causes characters to lose access to a thread temporarily, please refrain from talking about the action in the OOC.  I can open a secondary OOC for stuff like that upon request for those who want to discuss or comment before the group rejoins.

Re: OOC

Everything looks/reads awesome. I'm stoked to start. Line 'em up and I'll knock 'em down...just as soon as I finish my description and character sheet. But really, I'm ready.

Re: OOC

Hey Gavin! Good to have you aboard.

Just a quick note, you'll probably want to keep all non-thread related posts to either here or in a Private Message. Otherwise you'll have Chakan all over your ass about it. I'll give you the breakdown of "How to" in a private message.

Re: OOC

Lol- nice description Gavin!

My main computer took a shit, so I'm limited to my lap top these days.  This would not ordinarily limit my posting, however I'm currently spending a lot of free time pulling the big machine apart and seeing if I can perform technical CPR (word of advice: dust that stuff before putting your mouth on it.  Trust me.).

I'll still be checking pretty much daily, this isn't so much a head's up as just a bitching about my rich white guy problems.

"Waaah.  My PC broke so now I can only use my laptop to play my games."

Re: OOC

LOL - I will, in fact, endeavour to avoid putting dusty computer parts in my mouth, as hard as that might be.

Tell you what, I'll pray for your computer and your poor tortured soul. I think I speak for everyone when I say that you have our support to get you through this rough time.

<barely containing unbridled emotion>  Thank you.

<Lowering medical face mask, drops eyes and shakes head slowly and solemnly>  It doesn't look good.  There's still some life left, but it's fighting a losing battle.  The best I can do at this point is... make it as comfortable as possible.

And then buy a goddamn new one.

In reply to Gavin Bonnar (msg # 8):

Thanks, that's pretty much exactly what I'm trying to get out of mine.  I'm holding out for Windows 8 as well.

Looks like there's a strong possibility that a $50 mother board will tide me over.  Everybody pray to your respective gods and/or wish me luck that does the trick.

Ah, mighty Fideodios.  May his carobohydrate wisdom be bestowed unto me and take the noodleage from without my fingers as I perform holy techurgury upon my beast of burden.

Re: OOC

In reply to Chakan (msg # 13):

So......I was going to post this in the character creation thread as a private message to you, but that thread is closed, so I'm posting it here. Let me know if it should go elsewhere for next time. Just a few quick questions about some combat skills to get me started:

1)Do the melee weapons/firearms/heavy weapons skills cover all or would I need to pick a specific weapon subcategory, such as Bo, Katana, pistol, machine gun, etc, etc (like your martial arts description)?

2) Also, does the common 'throw' skill cover thrown weapons, or is that another skill (only asking as I did not see a 'thrown weapons' skill)?

3)I read you martial arts skill details (pretty freakin' awesome, btw), if I was feeling particularly motivated could I create such a skill ladder for my melee weapons skill and if so, would it need be weapon type specific, as inquired about in item#1 above?

Thanks in advance, that should get me rollin for now........I have a feeling I will be done before July at this rate..........Jaredog out.

Re: OOC

Hey Gavin, I just gotta say that you are cruisin'! Keep it up and we'll be able to make like an Autobot and "Roll out!" Hell, I've had longer than you and I'm not even done. Minor stuff, just minor, skills and all that...and powers...but nothing major.

Re: OOC

In reply to Gavin Bonnar (msg # 14):

I will answer all of these questions in a Private Message.  Here, I will place a tutorial on keeping your screens consolidated.

When you are on the main game page (where you can see all the various threads and notices) look to the top right corner of the page.  In the very corner you'll see "Help", and next to it things like "FAQs" and "rMail", etc.  Right under those you should see a link for "Private Messages".  When you have unread PM's, that link will likely be red in color.

If you click on that link you should see a list of the Private Threads you are currently a part of.  This is the best way to communicate with me on stuff that isn't for public consumption: clarification questions, game play stuff for just you, and talking shit about your fellow players.  You click on one of those private threads, and then just add to it by "Posting a Reply" at the bottom right.  This will prevent creating more and more Private Threads which will eventually clutter up your Private Message board, but more importantly: mine.  Generally I like having just one Private thread per player as that helps me avoid getting confused.

And nobody likes me when I'm confused.  People throw garbage at me.

So if you have a question about a particular public thread; instead of going into that thread and PM'ing me from that thread, just go back into your Private Message board and choose the one we've already been going back and forth on and ask me about it there.

Don't get me wrong, these were great questions that all of you should have the answer to, and you shall.  Just helping to simplify your life.  Ironic in a game with "Chaos" right in the title.

Now go check your Private Messages and receive the bounty that is all the answers!

Re: OOC

Sorry Chakan, but I disagree slightly <ducks from the glare>. I think that Gavin has some good questions that cover basic game mechanics, which is valuable for all players to read. However, the stuff directly related to character only should be a PM.

Just my 2 cents.

Re: OOC

Glare?  Never.  Punish you in game.... occasionally.

Fear not, the answers will be made public but the Private Message lesson is good public too.

We're getting there, guys!  Characters are about half way done I'd say, and I'm hoping to have things moving by Independence Day.  And when I say moving, I mean main plot.  Ideally I would like to have some test games with everybody individually to get a feel for the mechanics and work out some of the bugs of posting and rules before then so we're good to go.

Thanks all, keep the questions coming!
