Permanent Updates

Instead of leaving the Permanent Changes to the world events in various other positions - They will simply remain in the post below in their latest form to reduce the need to scroll through the world events list over and over to remember what pieces are active.

Permanent Updates

Off Map Civilization Points (CP)s

[ Off Map CPs will now begin reporting on Usurpers.  If you are Hostile or Unfriendly with an Off Map CP, - at the end of each month - it will cause -1 Obscurity. ]

On Map Civilization Points (CP)s

[ From the beginning of Month 10 Onward - on Map Civilization Points will begin to send their best military and magical commanders to find Usurpers and destroy them. ]
- Mechanics for this: Each turn, each group (Leader and their Army) will make a scout roll at +110.  If this results in a sufficient roll to beat anyone's Obscurity within 3 Grids, they will then move one square towards that grid and scout again on the next week.  If not, they will move in a random (1d8) direction and continue to scout.)  Once you have been discovered, you will be attacked.
- If you happen to scout in the same grid as where an NPC Leader is currently located; you will discover where they are and have the opportunity to fight them on the next turn (you will be told which direction they are heading).
- Defeating Faction Leaders will yield spells and/or artifacts. (Mage-type Leaders will yield more than one spell.)

Hostile Encounters

[ Hostile Encounters can now have enemies up to level 3 Level 5. ]

[ There can now be more than one entity in a hostile encounter (max Four of Tier 1, Three of Tier 2 or 3, Two of Tier 4) ]

[ Enemies encountered in the Harass Travelers action are certain to be armed and armored. ]

Exploring

[ The Explore Action now gives TWO results: 1 is always a Quest (you choose your difficulty- up to a # based upon the Explore Check) + 1 random opportunity. ]

[ Exploring is easier...  All of those with an Intelligence Network will now receive a bonus to explore equal to the number of empty slots in your mysterious room. ]

[ From now onward- Quests from Explore will be handled slightly differently. When you receive a Quest offer - you will simply be asked which difficulty level you want (2-X, where X is based upon whatever your Explore check was.)  Then, you will receive the Quest information and the countdown timer at the beginning of the next week (this should reduce confusion considerably) ]

[ Spells are now more Prevalent.  Whenever you complete a DF 4 or higher quest - you will have the option of a Spell or whatever the original reward was.  You must already have at least one spell learned at the beginning of the month in which you receive the quest. ]

Permanent Updates

"The time has come Usurpers.  Your infamy, notoriety, and general ability to display your power here has finally come to fruition.  Now, you've awoken long dormant beasts in the land.  The nobles have long-enjoyed keeping the land in some docile, hypnosis.   But, the truly powerful monsters of the land the kind that enjoy the thrill of a challenge.  Let's hope you can survive their onslaught, for this place will never be the same again now that they've awoken."

The Legendary Foes have awoken and now challenge the land!

Each week, each of the Legendary foes will have some affect on the land for as long as they live.
Each week, before making a turn post - you may announce to the world in the discussion zone your intent to challenge these foes.  Call out your target, and they will answer.  You will immediately lose 5 obscurity (permanently).  On the following week, you will assign whichever entities you want to have participate in the fight (use "?" for the target grid).

Multiple people can challenge the same legendary at the same time.

Ferrous the Metal Eater walks the land!  The lava-molded, legendary golem devours iron, steel, and other metals.  No blade stands against its mighty jaws for long as its heats, melts, and devours all weapons and armor in sight.

[ Semi-Permanent Effect: So devastating are the effects of Ferrous' appetites that few are willing to do anything more than hide their wares, let alone trade them.  No CP will trade Iron, nor Weapons or Armor so long as Ferrous walks the land. ]

Grenior The Fox the Magister Lich-Lord blasts his way from his eternal crypt, sniffing out sources of power and energy once more.  A master of all of the greatest magical arts, he summons forth an army of skeletons to serve him as he blasts fonts of wealth to fuel his ever-growing arcane powers.

[ Semi-Permanent Effect: Grenior has long-since mastered the forces of necromantic magics.  Each week he has a chance to destroy known resource nodes.  Due to his mastery of magic, he can siphon off the essence of those destroyed resources and use them to fuel his undead powers.  For each Node so destroyed, he recruits a new Unit of Skeletons to his cause. If he successfully destroys an Exceptional or Astounding node; all of his current Skeletons improve by 1 level. ]

Mirelth Eater of All the colossal, legendary Dragon awakens and bears herself aloft from sleeping upon her horde.  The rumors of more wealth and power draw her greed and ire as she now seeks-out the peasant-rabble of the land; burning all of those in her wake.

[ Semi-Permanent Effect: Mirelth takes twisted pride in displaying her awesome magic powers, flight, and fiery breath.  Each week, there is a chance she will burn-down and destroy known CPs; forever removing them from the land.  She grows in power as she does so. ]
