While 3 Tusks distracted the two Monstrous Spiders - Diamond Scales waded-in and let loose a blast of flame, surprising the creatures and sending one fleeing immediately.  No sooner had Fizzbang armed 3 Tusks with mystical bows and arrows, that Diamond Scale once again drew from his powerful bow and brought-low the mighty creature.

[ 3 Tusks, the Light Hammers, Diamond Scales, The Botanists, Herman, and Fizzbang succeed in attacking the Monstrous Spiders (G6). ]

The Architect is paid and constructs a Barracks in F6! (That was actually worth it!)

Mystic Tail(Tier4):
At the beginning of every combat, you cast the Armament spell twice.  You may duplicate an already equipped weapon as a result of this ability.  You may not duplicate an equipped weapon more than once.  The weapon created from this ability is treated as having a qualify modifier (as if crafted) of Strong (+18).
(Clarification: you do not gain additional attacks if you duplicate a weapon - however, the bonuses do stack.  This casts the spell as if your leaders were there and casting it - thus each "Casting" affects just one Unit.)

  • Mission: Rumors abound of a devilishly deceptive creature that is playing tricks on the townsfolk and their children. Parents are becoming more and more concerned and have sought you-out for answers as to what has become of their children.
  • Task 1 Narrative: Explore and do some research at the local scrivener's shoppe.
  • Task 1 Mechanics: Send at least 1 x Leader to Explore in (E7).
  • Task 2 Narrative:  ??

  • Task 3 Narrative: The villagers have begun to lose confidence in your abilities and begins to shun you. You need to stabilize relations in order to continue your efforts.

  • Task 4 Narrative:  Having learned a great deal about these mischevious creatures from a dusty and barely legible scroll, you learn of the creature's whereabouts in the town's crypts. However, it needs to be captured and subsequently given-over to the villagers.
  • Task 4 Mechanics:  Raid or Attack this location (treat as a Witch, Level 1). Must have a space open in a Prison.
  • Reward: Spell or Special Ability (Tier3)
  • Duration: 5 x Weeks.


Quest items must be done in order.  Task 2 varies depending upon the level of success in Task 1.

If the Ogre(s) are captured then Sylvia will try and recruit one and Gabriel the other. They will indicate that the Diamond Scales were hired and are getting rich serving our Usurpation, why not you?

In C8 I think there is a total bonus of +31 from external bonuses, +21 from skills, and +50 from leaders. 102 before the die are even rolled!

Human Banner:
When Housed, This Artifact provides +3% to all Combat-based Rolls.
Special Activation: You can never Completely Fail when conducting Diplomacy at CPs with Humans.  Additionally, the Recruitment and Upkeep cost of all Human Units (and Extras) is reduced by 2 GP [only reduces GP costs, not Foodcosts.]

Diamond Scales gain lv3 and +1 Offense
3 Tusks gain Courage[1] (Cause they REALLY don't need to run away!)
Light Hammers gain Forest Shepherd(Tier1) (No idea when I will use this, but maybe if there is HQ Wood to be gotten.
Scalvagers gain lv2 and +1 Offense and Mason[1]
Grey Gobs gain lv8* and Mason[2]
What Hammers gain lv7 and +1 0ffense and Mason[3*]
Sylvia gains Bard[3*]

Hires the Ogres.

Gives them 3 gold to prove that they can get rich by working for Sylvia.

Gives the other 7 units 1 gold each as a bonus for kicking ass.

1HQ Food used to feed the Biologists in D8
6 Regular Food (out of 20) for Units in F6.

Lightless Growth creates 3 HQ Food, which the Scalvagers turn into 6 HQ Iron.
-It was broccoli!
Librum Adeptus creates 6 HQ Iron.
-That grew on the Librum Adeptus.

Task 2 [alt] Narrative: The Imp turns-out to be a greater demon from an otherworldly realm and your attempts to research its true nature backfire as you accidentally mutter aloud some horrid words from an ancient tome!
Task 2 [alt] Mechanics: You must fight and defeat the Imp (treat as Dragon - Level 2.)


  • Name: "'Ere the Horses Ride!"
  • Type: Challenging Odyssey (DF5)
  • Mission: Recent events have left Windhame bereft of its best horse tamers, and it needs a strong hand to deal with the current herd.
  • T1 Narrative: Windhame needs time with horse trainers to bring an unbroken herd under control.
  • Task 1: [ Mechanics: Loan Units and/or Leaders for 1 Week.  Must achieve a Success on an Outmaneuver roll. (At least one Unit must have one rank in Outmaneuver.) ]
  • T2 Narrative:  Windhame needs new Horses to add to their stables to improve the breed.
  • Task 2: [ Mechanics: Donate 1 x Unit of Horses. (You cannot buy them from Windhame and then donate them.)  ]
  • T3 Narrative:  Prove your skills in horsemanship!
  • Task 3: [ Mechanics: Attack and Defeat a band of nearby (E6) Horse Thieves (3 x Humans, Armed, Armored and Mounted.) ]
  • T4 Narrative:  In order for Windhame to trust you finally with their great secret, you must make a show of good faith... teach them magic!
  • Task 4: [ Mechanics: Loan 1 Entity with at least one Spell for 1 week. ]
  • Reward: Special Ability (Tier 4)
  • Duration: 5 x Weeks.

*All Units have Horses, yes all 9 units have horses.

Not good to have Fizzban out of the Dragon/Imp fight, but he is the only guy with outmaneuver and I have to have him for the other quest, which seems MUCH harder than the other DF5. I really REALLY hope that the roll goes off this week so I can use the Leaders in other places next week.

If Sylvia can, she will ALSO teach Grey Gobs and WHammers Artison

Girded with hardened steel, and a mystical might that will be sung through the ages; you set your forces loose upon the growing threat that is the imp.  Sturdy tail, blackened eyes, and the breath of a dragon - just as Diamond Scales attempts to let out a puff of flame; the beast bursts a gout of searing fire and sulfur- tearing up your eyes and filling your nostrils with the smell of death.  Your troops hold firm as the 3 Tusks, hardened Orcs begin banging on their shields and drawing the beasts attentions.

Flying high, everyone else is forced to pull out arrows and lob them into the air.  Almost none hit, save for a sudden salvo from the Storm Riders!  Despite their inexperience in ranged combat, their natural Elven ways combined with the human's tenacity in handling their mounts creates the perfect flanking maneuver.  The arrows sink into the thing's monstrous hide.

Crashing down in a fury, the Imp attempts to claw at the 3 Tusks, but only finds the chill of the steel and iron shields to greet it.

The steel riders once again prove to the the heroes of the day as they charge back, lances at the ready; allowing the rest to bear down on the beast in a swarm.  The day is won, but at a cost of great knowledge; nearly a third of the library has been burned to a cinder.

[ 3 Tusks, Diamond Scales, the Storm Riders, SteelGut, the Light Hammers, and Herman band together for an epic brawl. ]
[ Your forces obliterate the Imp! ]
[ You gain 2 Leveling XP. ]
[ You gain 4 Skill XP, which must be assigned as Combat Skills. ]
[ You gain 69 Gold. ]
[ You complete Task 2 of the "Imps Unleashed" Quest. ]

[ The Botanists and the Scalvagers achieve a Significant Success in Harvesting from the Grand Stone Node in (C8). ]
[ You gain 1 Leveling XP. ]
[ Thanks to the dual-human bonus and the trainer-Unit bonus, you gain 2 Skill XP, which must be assigned as Stonecutter. ]
[ Due to the Flora Appreciation ability, you gain 1 Skill XP, which must be assigned as Forager. ]
[ You return with 40 Stone. ]

[ Sylvia supports efforts at Starhold (F6)... ]

[ The What Hammers achieve a Significant Success in Renovating the Workshop in Starhold (F6). ]
[ You gain 1 Leveling XP. ]
[ You gain 1 Skill XP, which must be assigned as Mason. ]
[ You save 2 Stone, consuming only 13 Stone. ]
[ You succeed in Renovating the Workshop to Renovation Level 3! ]

[ The Grey Gobs achieve a partial success in Renovating the Workshop in Starhold (F6). ]
[ You save no resources, consuming 20 Stone. ]
[ You succeed in Renovating the Workshop to Renovation Level 4! ]

[ Gabriel and Fizzbang succeed in attempting to train Outmaneuver in Windhame (E6).]
[ You complete Task 1 of the " 'Ere the Horses Ride!" quest. ]
