Re: Space

Senthil agreed with almost everything Anakin said, except for the part about essentially ignoring your master.  Senthil knew that Jedi Masters were not always right, but they definitely had more experience.  However, Senthil decided not to verbally take issue with the advice so freely given.  He simply nodded and said, "Thanks, Anakin."  After a brief pause, he then decided to be bold and ask "Would you be willing to spar with one of us?"

Re: Space

Anakin blinked, seemingly surprised and off-put by the genuine compliment.

"Of course," he replied to the offer to spar.  He took off his outer robe and assumed a starting pose.  "Two against one.  Unfair for you two."

Re: Space

Senthil was surprised at Anakin's answer, as he hadn't expected him to be willing to take on both of them. However, he was up to the challenge, even if Anakin's confidence made him a little nervous.  Senthil gathered the Force around him, using Battlestrike, more to make sure he got through Anakin's defenses than that he wanted to hurt him, even though the lightsabers were set on training mode.  He then moved in immediately and aggressively, swinging the lightsaber across Anakin's body.

Re: Space

A'raan took a swing to the opposite side as Senthil but Anakin was able to parry both, with grimace of effort, before returning a strike on A'raan who shuddered from the blow.

Re: Space

Anakin parried Senthil's attack but didn't even need to worry about A'raan whose attack went wide as he over corrected.  After the last attack.  Anakin used the opening to attack Senthil, handily landing in the middle of Senthil's back.  Fortunately everyone's sabers were set to training mode.

OOC Anakin's attack is 20 dmg, surpassing your threshold and nearly dropping you.

Re: Space

Even though the training lightsaber did not burn cloth or flesh, it was quite the thud on the back and Senthil felt like screaming out in pain, but he bit his tongue.  He tried again for a strike against Anakin, but was starting to realize that it wasn't just the pain that was holding him back.  He just couldn't keep up with Skywalker.

Re: Space

While Anakin was distracted casually deflecting Senthil's pitiful attack, A'raan's swing connected with the older Jedi's arm.

Anakin returned the favor to the side of A'raan's head, dropping him.

Re: Space

Senthil decided that he and A'raan had probably taken enough of a beating.  "Okay, Anakin, you win.  You definitely can handle the both of us."

Senthil deactivated his lightsaber, reached his webbed hand out to A'raan to help him get up, and to Anakin added, "It's a good thing you're on our side."

Re: Space

Anakin nodded and returned his lightsaber to his belt.

"We're arriving at the coordinates," Obi-Wan said over the comm.  The three returned to the bridge and Anakin returned to the pilot seat.  When they exited hyperspace they were all stunned to see not only an entire star system but a space battle taking place above the planet in front of them.

"Let's make sure we go unseen until we know more about what's going on."  Obi-Wan flipped a couple of switches to activate the stealth-mode.

"What two groups are fighting?" Senthil wondered aloud, hoping but not expecting that someone in the cockpit could provide an answer.

"They don't LOOK like Republic ships," A'raan replied.

"The Republic has no warships," explained Kit Fisto as the ship moved by the triangular defending ship.

Re: Space

"Why would one system have so many warships?" Obi-Wan asked, generally.  They darted past a fan-shaped Confederacy ship and entered the atmosphere of the rainy planet.

"They are stuck between two galaxies," offered Anakin.  "Maybe they just wanted to be able to defend themselves."

"Well, it seems we are destined to find our answers not in space but on the planet," Senthil conceded.  He noted that the planet seemed to be covered in water  which made him feel more at home.

The ship began to be buffeted by the storms that racked the planet as they entered the atmosphere but they were able to find a city above the endless ocean and land.

Re: Space

As they landed a squad of troopers in shiny, white armor exited the nearby building and surrounded their ship and pointed their blasters.

"Identify yourself," an accented voice crackled over the com.

"We are Jedi of the Republic," Obi-Wan replied.  The troopers stood down and the one who appeared to be their leader spoke into his helmet.  A few minutes later a tall, slender frame appeared in the lighted doorway but didn't exit.

"You will follow us inside," the accented voice demanded.

Re: Space

Even though he was enjoying the feel of the rain on his skin, Senthil simply nodded and followed the troopers.  His first reaction had been that they were being too defensive and pushy.  But then he had considered that their planet was under attack, and had held his tongue.  He thought his master would be pleased, if he had known Senthil had contained himself, but Senthil didn't want to point it out--that would be prideful.
